You followed your friend and became a movie major?
My best friend was in the theater and
movie department. While looking at his script,
I followed suit and enrolled.
How was it? This is an anonymous
tip from your senior.
Even though Lim Hyungjun was younger than me,
because he looks older,
I couldn't speak casually to him.
That means you were scary.
Did you submit that tip?
It wasn't me.
I realized it when I was in the reserves.
I looked old ever since kindergarten.
I was 7 and went with my mom
to ride the bus while wearing the yellow
kindergarten uniform.
The bus driver pointed at me and asked for bus fare.
He said I needed to pay.
Even though I was wearing the kindergarten uniform.
My mom started arguing with the bus driver.
That's when I realized I looked older.

You debuted in 1998.
The movie "Shiri" as a commando.
I'm in there somewhere.
But becoming an actor wasn't my dream then.
I won an award at a song festival in school.
It was by the singing department. I got an offer then.
I debuted at the same time as Park Jeonghyeon.
I used the recording studio with her.
- Jeonghyeon who wrote, "P.S I Love You"? / - Yes.
I recorded my song after she did.
The engineer was so mad at me.
Because of our skill gap.
We were both rookies,

I had a certain image from being on variety shows,
so with that experience,
the production crew, casting directors, and staff
were all against me doing it.
But what happened?
Maybe Ma Dongseok took pity on me.
He said to meet them and talk with them,
so I met the director and he asked for an audition.
I auditioned for the role I had prepared.
How was filming on set?
It was nice.
They were a lot of people who were
eager to be in movies.
So all that earnest energy was all gathered there.
That director had prepared for 17 years
before debuting with that movie.
He could have used better, more famous,
or more vetted actors.
But he told me...
"The reason I chose you..."
(His earnestness overflowed)
Why did he say he chose you?
He said...
"I want to work with someone as earnest as you."
(Lim Hyeongjun weeps as he remembers that feeling)

Can you tell us what it's about?
I'll do it.
Great.
The youngest is in charge.
The movie, "1987," is about a college student
who died suddenly
while being interrogated by police.
"1987" takes place 30 years ago and is
about those brave individuals who sought to uncover
the truth surrounding his death.
Was this movie based on a real person?
Some were real people.
Others were used as inspiration
to make similar characters.
My role is that of a person who really existed.
He was a news correspondent overseas
but passed away due to overwork.
I wanted to really act as he did.
I looked up many of his articles.
I was a student in 1987.
I know a lot about this incident.
Everybody was involved in
demonstrations in those days.
Everyone participated in demonstrations back then
in that whirlwind political climate.
It was a proud time as we became the nation
that gained a direct
presidential election system the fastest.
Back then when I was young, I tasted tear gas
and thought of how I hated it.
So I began to see my father and uncle differently.
When I read the script,
it was when the candlelight protests
were going on in the Plaza Square.
When creating movies based on true stories, it's
important to consider if the movie is currently needed.
I think the movie suited the atmosphere of the time.
Park Huisun, you're famous for
going through a lot of pain for every movie.
That's true for this movie too.
It's better if it all happens at once.
In this humid and sticky summer,
we had to wear these clothes.
And it was an action movie.
Many other movies have famous scenes or lines.
