And it's a city that's known for its diverse cuisine.
Today, I'm going to try Vietnamese food (and speak a little Vietnamese),
some Canadian food and Indian food!
I hope you'll join me on this whirlwind food tour!
Hi! I lived in Saigon for two years, and now I miss Vietnam a lot,
especially the people and the food!
So today, I'm happy to meet and chat with Vietnamese people and try delicious Vietnamese food!
There's an extreme weather warning and it is cold outside!
So, I am here at local favorite 36 Phố to enjoy a nice, warm bowl of phở and other delicious Vietnamese dishes.
The restaurant's tagline is "phở like mama used to make it."
Now granted, my mom didn't make phở,
but this recipe takes me back to my days in Vietnam.
I've had so many wonderful people share their homemade versions of this delicious dish,
a real treat for the tastebuds!
This restaurant specializes in northern Vietnamese cuisine,
and the name is actually 36 Phố,
a reference to the old quarter in Hanoi, Vietnam's capital.
I spent many happy days in Hanoi,
so it's a nice treat to be able to eat this wonderful food again.

Welcome to East India Company, a local restaurant
known for its quality food, great service and inviting atmosphere!
In 1967, Mr. Kamal Mehra opened the first East India Company in Winnipeg.
It was the city's only Indian restaurant at the time.
There are now three East India Company restaurants, located in Winnipeg and Ottawa,
and they're run by Mrs. Sudha Mehra and her three sons: Sachit, Anish and Nitin.
Each restaurant showcases antiques and artwork from palaces, temples and stately homes.
The downtown location is home to their oldest antique, a 400 year old "Palki" from Rajasthan.
This carriage was placed on the back of an elephant
and carried brides to their wedding ceremonies!
The food at East India Company is made from scratch!
Mrs. Mehra roasts, blends and makes the family's secret garam masala recipe,
a spice mixture used in many of the restaurants' dishes.

The website also has a lot of recipes for dishes,
including chana masala and spiced pea and paneer curry!
We really enjoyed our time here at East India Company,
but there's one more stop on our food tour!

This restaurant - located in ByWard Market - is a local favorite.
You can come here for traditional diner food, but also Canadian specialties
like maple syrup, Canadian bacon and poutine!
Today, I'm going to try them all!
Maple syrup is such a big deal that in 2012,
a group of thieves stole almost 540,000 barrels from Quebec's maple syrup reserves.
Some countries have oil reserves; Canada has maple syrup reserves.
Love it!
These thick slices of Canadian bacon are everything.
Poutine is one of Canada's national dishes!
There are lots of different versions of this dish,
but you simply must try the traditional poutine,
which consists of french fries, cheese curds and gravy.

I will tell you honestly that it's was also probably the first party where we saw so many Koreans (speaking of concerts)

First of all, it started very suddenly
We were next to accredditation and merch where you could buy things like hats, albums, mouse pads

and Nada started to perform

So after we went through the crowd to find a good place to record the concert,
I will tell you frankly that the performance was amazing
Even though it was short
But Nada had such an amazing contact with fans
I didn't expect that so many people were such big Nada fans!
Some people were literally trying to get closer to her

I think someone even cried when she touched this person's hand
It's surprising that there are so many soloists' fans in Poland
And rappers' fans
And also fans of the shows like Unpretty Rapstar
And it's really surprising for me
But in a positive way, of course
But it's good that not everyone is only into pretty Korean idols
I really like it
About the interview?
Some of our questions were rejected
because of the short skirt Nada was wearing
You can guess what kind of tasks we prepared for her if she couldn't do them because of the skirt
But I really enjoyed it
I think that Nada had a lot of fun during this interview

But the club was full
And it was really, really hot
We had to leave to breathe
