Coronation Street fans horrified by David Platt's encounter with rapist Josh Tucker
Coronation Street spoilers revealed that David Platt will be subject to a harrowing storyline when he is a victim of rape at the hands of Josh Tucker in later scenes.
Tonight, there was tension between David and Josh as the pair butted heads over the upcoming boxing match.
Mechanic Josh, who also works as a personal trainer, is set to drug and sexually assault David after the pair share a drunken night together.
Corrie fans who were aware of the soap spoilers were left feeling uncomfortable at tonights scenes, and they flocked to Twitter to share their discomfort.
"Shut the f*** up Josh, you creep.
Leave our David alone." Coronation Street fan Cant enjoy these David/Josh scenes knowing where its going, said one viewer.
Another blasted: Shut the f*** up Josh, you creep.
Leave our David alone. Its weird seeing David and Josh being friendly together, since we know whats going to happen, said a third.
Feels awful watching scenes with Josh and David when you know whats going to happen, commented a fourth.
The shocking storyline will not include any graphic scenes, instead showing a bewildered David waking up and realising what has happened.
A source spilled: There won't be any sexually explicit scenes, what has happened to David will be implied by his reaction and behaviour when he wakes up the next day and starts to remember some of what happened. The insider added to the Mirror: With Josh still on the street, David struggles to deal with the shame of what has happened to him.
This is a big storyline for Jack and everyone is determined to get it right. Elsewhere among the Coronation Street cast, tonights episode teased another big storyline for Corrie vixen Eva Prices (Catherine Tyldesley) exit.
Tonights double-bill saw Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) suggest to Eva that she should adopt her baby without boyfriend Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) knowing.
Could this be part of Evas exit plot? Coronation Street continues Wednesday at 7:30pm on ITV.
