Family Medicine Wilmington NC - Dr. Robert Johnson - Duration: 2:40.

I spent time in high school with a family doc in Wilmington, and just sort of enjoyed

what he was doing with his day.

Seeing lots of different patients and seeing lots of different problems, and going from

one thing to the next, then it was a very interesting, so it got me interested in going

into medical school and want to be a family doc.

The variety that we see, all kinds of things you know in a day.

You know a back strain, sinus infection, acid reflux, somebody's had a heart bypass operation

last week, a guy that had a transplant this morning, heart transplant patient, so it's

all kinds of things in a day and it makes it interesting.

I think the big strength of Wilmington Health is you have all these talented people and

resources, and you can leverage these resources for your patients.

You know if you're not sure about something you can ask.

You can message the cardiologist and say what about this?

Or do you need to do this?

And it makes the care more efficient, it's less expensive, but yet it's high quality,

and then things like getting things like colonoscopy scheduled you know it just makes it easy to

there's so many more resources when you're in a larger organization, but we have the

flavor of sort of being a neighborhood clinic, but at the same time we have this big resources

that we can leverage, and sometimes we can provide services over here, sometimes people

have to go into Wilmington.

I think it's a nice option and we can offer more services over here then we try to do that.

I'm boarded in family medicine and I'm also board-certified an adolescent medicine, so

I'm very comfortable talking about adolescent problems, diseases, growth, development challenges,

things like that, so that's kind of a small niche that I have here, it's kind of unusual.

Try to get some exercise.

I like to kayak, which is fun.

I do little hiking, travel.

I was just in Germany recently just got back from there, wife's family lives, so we do

a little traveling.

Can I Shoot Time Lapse and Interval Photography w/ the Olympus Pen-F Mirrorless Camera? | FAQ Video - Duration: 2:26.

Izzy here from Digital Goja. Today I'd like

to go over a frequently asked question

about the Olympus Pen F.

If this video helps you out remember

to hit me up with a like button

underneath and subscribe to our channel.

Hey! And when in Miami, come visit me at

Digital Goja showrooms.

Can I do timelapse and interval photography?

Yes you can, that's another nice feature

that Olympus put in the Pen F.

Now, very important, you can only work in that mode

when you have your dial set to P-A-S-M

so that means you have to pick one of these

whether you're comfortable on program

and letting the camera do it for you

you can set it to that.

I like aperture priority so I can control

my depth of field, so I'll set it to that.

Now we're going to turn on the camera of course

and we're going to go into our menu settings.

And then we're going to hit the menu button

and we're going to go to the

first camera setting, the one that has the 1 on it.

And notice how we have to

scroll all the way down to where it has our

drive setting, so let's click on that

and there it is

interval shooting and time-lapse

right now it's set to the default, which is off

we'll turn it on and now, voilà!

Now we can actually change the amount of frames

anywhere from 1 to 999. We can set the

starting time, the interval length

you can actually tell it to record a

time-lapse movie and still pictures

and you can also change your resolution

for your movie setting, so you can set your

resolution for your movie setting

depending on the way you want to shoot

your video also. So there you have it

a very simple way to do time lapse and

interval shooting with your Olympus Pen F.

Well I hope I answered your question

about the Olympus Pen F and if I didn't

leave them in the comment section below.

Happy shooting!

Senator Markey Questions Rex Tillerson on Nuclear Weapons, Global Health, Fentanyl - 1/11/17 - Duration: 7:44.

Thank you Mr. Chairman.

Do you agree with

President-elect Trump when he said quote

it wouldn't be a bad thing for us if

Japan South Korea or Saudi Arabia

acquired nuclear weapons? I don't

think anyone advocates for more nuclear

weapons on the planet.

Donald Trump said it would not be a bad

thing. Do you agree with that or disagree

with it? I do not agree. You do not agree.

Would you commit to working vigorously

to ensure that no additional country on

the planet obtains a nuclear weapons

capacity? I think if confirmed it

is a vital one of role for

the State Department to play and working in

in the National Security Council and an

interagency way has to be the pursuit of

nuclear non-proliferation. We just

simply cannot back away from our

commitment to see a reduction in the

number of these weapons on planet.

Okay, President-elect Trump recently said

on Twitter that in his view the United

States must quote "expand its nuclear

capability" when warned that this could

trigger an arms race he replied "let it

be an arms race."

Do you agree with President-elect Trump

that the United States should welcome a

nuclear arms race with Russia or with

China? Would that be a good thing for the

United States? I think is we're

pursuing non-proliferation and we're

also pursuing the enforcement of

important agreements like new start that

we have to also approached those from a

position of strength.

I think in the context of some of the

the quotes that you're running through

here

the president-elect is also indicated

the a commitment to ensuring that the

level of nuclear arms and capability

that we are going to maintain under

great treatise that those capabilities

must be maintained

from time to time that means we've got

to renew them and bring them up to date

and ensure that they are capable

otherwise we now have an asymmetric

arrangement with people were negotiating

with right it's just that's at odds with

what he has been quoted publicly as

saying so I just think it's important

for us to hear you take a position that

in fact negotiations towards reducing

the nuclear threat rather than having a

new nuclear arms race is much better for

our country and the global security if

you are confirmed when you commit to

protect the rights of all career

employees of the state department

include a so that they had that they

retain their right to speak with

Congress? As pursuant to open and

effective dialogue with Congress would

encourage that issues are are put on the

table for discussion with Congress yes.

You just had I think a great

conversation with Senator Isakson above

global health issues. And one of our

great achievements over the last couple

of decades has been the establishment

and investment in PEPFAR and US

leadership in the Global Fund to fight

AIDS, TB and malaria millions of lives

have been saved and health

infrastructure has been built in the

developing world could you discuss your

view of those programs and your

commitment to strengthening them in the

years ahead pet bars is just really one

of the remarkable successes of the past

decade or more obviously begun under

President Bush and I think what's what's

notable about PEPFAR is there are

measurable results. Very well managed.

Very well targeted

Getting at those three diseases I think

it serves as a model for us to look to

as we're thinking about other ways in

which to project America's values

project our compassion to want to solve

these threats that are in other parts of

the world that by and large we're not

threatened by a lot of this here in this

country. Malaria eradicated decades

ago. TB well under control. AIDS great

treatment programs available to people.

Projecting that into other parts of the

world is is a marvelous way to send the

message of the compassion of the

American people that we care about the

people's lives all over the world so

PEPFAR is a terrific model to look at in

the future as we think about other areas

that may be useful for us to put

additional programs in place. Now I I'd

like to move on to another global health

issue as it impacts the United States

and again this is the opioid epidemic

it's now been transformed into a mental

issue in Massachusetts this year in the

Hampshire Senator Shaheen's home

state three-quarters of the people who

died in 2016 of opioid overdose overdose

died from dental and if it was occurring

at the same rate across the country as a

dinner massachusetts in 2016 that would

be 75,000 people year dying from

fentanyl overdoses now the way this is

coming into America is pretty much the

chemicals come in from China they go

down to Mexico and then there traffic in

out of Mexico into the regions of the

country senator Rubio has a similar

problem in Florida we need to elevate

this issue mr. secretary to a much

higher level of importance in our

country the terrorists that's going to

kill Americans on the streets of our

country the terrorists who are selling

fentanyl it's the Mexican in Chinese

operatives

who are funneling this into our country

that is the terrorists fear in the

hearts of Americans can you talk about

how strong you intend on ensuring that

the state department takes in terms of

actions to tell the Chinese and the

mexicans how serious we are about this

threat this existential threat to

families all across the country center

if if confirmed this will be this will

require an interagency approach both in

terms of applying many of the tools that

have been used in terror financing

elsewhere the track the flow of money

attempt to disrupt on both ends of that

because I think it's one thing we can

send the Chinese a message but it's

another than to put in place the

mechanisms whether it be working with

Treasury and other parts of of the

interagency process to disrupt the flow

of these of these materials in this

these drugs as well clearly we we have a

message to to project china but i'm also

clear-eyed about challenges sunday say

okay nevermind a wall across our

southern border will not keep the fencin

allowed it's going to take much tougher

action if we're going to save ultimately

to vietnam's per year of deaths inside

of the United States from that one drug. Thank you, Mr. Chairman.

7 Surprising Thing7 Surprising Things You've Never Heard About Near Death Experiences NDEs - Duration: 6:08.

7 Surprising Things Youve Never Heard About Near Death Experiences (NDEs).

BY GOSTICA.

Parapsychologists have been studying Near-Death-Experiences (NDEs) for many years, however, most of us

arent familiar with what theyve been finding.

We are familiar with the idea that many see a tunnel or a light in the distance, see or

meet passed on loved ones, and then return with perhaps a new outlook on life, but what

else do you know?

Here are some of the more interesting phenomena scientists have reported:

1.)

People can have NDEs when they are brain dead.

A famous case occurred during an operation referred to as a standstill, where ones

body temperature is reduced to 60 degrees (F), the heartbeat and breathing stop, and

blood drains from the brain in other words, a person is put to death to perform surgery.

In Pam Reynolds case, she left her body, observed the operation and also entered the

tunnel and met with deceased loved ones, before returning to her body.

2.)

People born blind experience sight during an NDE.

In the book Mindsight, researchers documented 31 cases of the blind experiencing normal

vision during NDEs and reporting identical experiences to those who experienced NDEs

with normal vision.

3.)

Scientific discoveries have been brought back by people having NDEs.

7 Surprising Things Youve Never Heard About Near Death Experiences (NDEs) One instance

happened when Lynneclaire Dennis returned from an NDE describing a three dimensional

geometric structure of light she called The Pattern and explained was the the essence

of all being.

The Mereon Matrix, as it is called, has been studied by world-renowned mathematician

Dr. Louis H. Kauffman, who concluded that a Ms. Dennis, non-scientist, had described

in detail a complex geometric structure that coincided with knot theory in physics and

did so without any prior knowledge of geometry, knot theory, or science.

4.)

NDEs can be shared by groups of dying people.

A fascinating example is that of a crew of wildland firefighters that took place in Colorado

in 1989.

Trapped by a change in conditions, firefighters had to take refuge in individual foil shelters

while the fire burned around and over them.

It was during this time in the shelters (known as turkey cookers in this field), that

one firefighter found himself above this scene looking down.

As he looked around, he saw his fellow firefighters gathered near him, doing the same.

He went on to witness the bright light and meet his deceased loved ones, but upon returning,

discovered that several other firefighters had the same experience they had experienced

a group NDE!

5.)

Some have had visions of the future during NDEs that later came true.

In 1975, Dannion Brinkley was struck by lightning while talking on the phone during a thunderstorm.

During his NDE, he was shown 12 future events, presented to him almost as if he were watching

the news on T.V.

One event Brinkley had predicted was the nuclear melt down and explosion that occurred at Chernobyl

in 1986.

6.)

Children have similar NDEs to adults.

7 Surprising Things Youve Never Heard About Near Death Experiences (NDEs) Children also

describe encountering light beings and deceased loved ones, but most also encounter

parental figures some of which are more critical than loving, giving the child stern

advice or pointing out previous bad behavior.

Interestingly enough, some children reported having to go to animal heaven before they

were allowed to visit people heaven. Overall, though, the experiences between child

and adult NDEs were very similar.

7.)

Not all NDEs are pleasant.

Despite what is seen in the movies and on T.V., NDEs can be difficult or distressing

and, in a few cases, horrifying experiences.

Known as LTPs (for Less Than Positives), up to 18 percent of all NDEs fall into this category.

It is believed that LTPs may happen when someone is fearful or agitated just prior to the NDE

or when someone is in need of a readjustment in the trajectory of their lives.

Those that return from LTPs typically gain a new perspective on life and choose to live

it differently (and more positively) after the experience.

Anyone can have an LTP it is more about needing a course correction than about

being a specific type of person even good people can have them.

What is true is that all that experience LTPs learn from them!

NDEs often have commonalities, but in this article weve seen that there are exceptions

that they are individual experiences in some ways and common in others.

Had you heard about some of these different types of NDEs?
