Then After...?
Fuck, you already forget....
Red fish memory
Then we go to public bath
and then to the school
and then we go to the hookers right ?
aaah little children !
the guy, is on tape and he says that we go to the hookers
well that's not true we go to see lil'kids !
I lost my voice so I can't talk, I let Gerard do the talking
Gerard* Me neither so....
We spent the morning doing some shopping for the kids
We just arrived in Maewin, the main village
the district village
There's the main school that we helped last year
Because we arrived a bit late
This was unexpected, but the main school was exceptionnally closed
We will go there tommorow morning
So we can enjoy and visit the area
The village
And now our local contact is taking us to a little trek of few KMs
Duke* It's quite hot....
G* We just walked like 500m ans we are already deads... so still remaining 4.5km
So we are getting deeper in the village
and then we go to the jungle...
We will let you discover the corner
... The conditions in which the locals and the kids are living here.
We'll call them Maewinites ?
I guarantee you that there's nothing to do with Chiang Mai or Bangkok
It's Countryside.... Enjoy
Hi everyone!
We arrived to the Nong Monta School
It's a little remote village at 25km from Maewin
The main district village where we arrived yesterday
This little village is in the moutains
25 KM bird flight...
It means hours and hours of rolling in the mud
Look Duke show the road.
So you can see what we drive on for kilometers.
Simple, we took a 2hours long drive...
With the Van
So here, except for the 4WD and the motorcycles...
I can't imagine how we can reach this place with a small car
Come on we gonna visit the place
First thing to know, you have 61 students in this school
This school gather the kids from this Village
but also from furthers villages
Some of the students are staying here and sleep here during the week
They are walking to the school
Some of them walk 3km trought the moutains and the jungle to reach the school
They arrive on monday and leave on Friday
The main entrance with this Facility
This is where the teachers live.
You can also see behind me some of the house from the village
For most of it, they raised up the house from the ground
Of course we are in the mountains so it's not really for the flood
Here in case of very heavy precipitation
you have some kind of...
the water rolling on the moutains flank
You'd better have a raised up house, so it can passes under it.
and also to protect you froms animals etc etc
so we are standing in the middle of the court
Look, there are some students playing soccer
I suppose that this little scene out there is for shows and meetings
Behind us you have the Library
our driver is taking a Nap
The library that is only provided by donations
So donations from peoples who give books and magazines
It's not that easy to sent them all this kind of stuffs
You still have a computer here... but look at the power supply...
So Duke must know this...
All the Geeks on facebook look at this
Let's continue...
So here you have the classrooms
2 of them are used
the other ones are more like storage rooms
anyway you only have 2 teachers...
You can notice the omnipresence of the royal family
here are the king's portrait whom passed away few weeks ago
And the country is in a mourning period for one year
But we must admit that the frame could be worst
Look at the panorama...
This is the real country, and moutains...
it's true that we are far from the cliché of diaporamas and postcards
And I would say that it's even better
So this is the nursery...
for the youngest ones, those who aren't at school yet
We talked about this, here you dont have running water
All the water is store in big tanks like this one
You have these around the school
there's not even enought of it
It's rain water for most of the time
So they are totally dependant of the climat
and also from provided water
and water donations, in the limit of their means
a little playground for the youngest
Because the kids have the right to have some fun anywhere
Here are the WC
We will forget about the comfort
The comfort that we got used to since we were young
actually, the WC are always outside
We noticed that in schools or even houses
so you have the boys and girls sides
a little thing, you don't have the flush on the toilets
So to clean after you go there
you have a bucket and you pour water into it
Here's the long tables where every day they are having lunch
you can see there the plates in which they eat
it may look like a anedote, but it appears that it's the same plates as in jail
with little compartments for differents foods
and for the record, we ask to have lunch with them
and the teachers said unfortunately, we can't
we have to wait for them to finish first
simply because there's not enough dishes
can you realize? they are 61 students
plus the staff and teacher there is arounds 70 people here
and they don't even have enough dishes to eat all together
So I think that Duke caught it on camera earlier but ...
when the kids are eating, they are eating by groups
and when the first group had finished
Right after, look...
you have somes washrooms
and the kids by themselves, no one is doing it for them.
they come here, wash their dishes
and put it back, so the kids after can take the plate and have lunch
So for us, we obviously had the idea
It's one of the thing that we put on our list of primary needs
For later
So here's the kitchen
what's the kitchen? the place where we cooking meals
we all have our own kitchen with dedicated room, kitchen devices and stuffs
here's their kitchen
there's no electric oven, gas oven
it's rudimentary but efficient
some wood
and it's here that they heat up all the meals
the basis of their food is essentially vegetarian
The meat, you will easily understand that they can't afford it.
it's mostly vegetables, look...
and here's their frisge
A room that is well aereted, it's quite cool
the concrete floor stays cold of course
so this is the weekly vegetables
it comes froms the village's cultures
and they complete this with some shoppings or donations
Mostly food donations
that was the fresh,
then their food basis is non perishables foodstuffs
you have Rice, dry pastas
all dry food
canned food, lots of it
Sauces and stuff that you dont need to keep in a fridge
It's obvious that the variety of food isn't huge
For protein source, today we had eggs
The eggs has been offered by our host Kun
frequently, people are donating some or when they are able to, they go buy them
I asked the question...
why dont you have a chicken coop ?
so you can have your own eggs
ans don't have to buy them
It's not about the price of the chicken
Here you have chicken in Thailand
It's more about the conditions you have to raise them
here you are in the mountains with some rude days
And lil' chicken that can go freely...
In my opinion they won't survive long enough
with all predators...
and to feed 60 kids everyday, several times a day...
you need a lot of eggs, so a lots of chicken
so it's obvious they can't feed all the chickens
Little aparté about this
the dishwashing place
it's here they do the dishes
So a lot of you will say that, it isn't a clean room, it's dirty
we don't have the same standards
you have the essential with water supply
they have enough to wash, rinse , dry
then the rest isn't pretty
it's not design, Ithink they don't really care about this...
Earlier I've said that they do everything with wood.
You also have some Gas burners
To maintain hot etc
let's go upstairs
here we have the dormitory
you even have electricity, a tv
we are not at the stone age
No jokes... Here you even have a phone
and I think that tonight we gonna sleep in a room like this one or in a guest house... I don't know.
A nice thing that I wanted to show you
When we arrived this morning
The people form the village were building this little shelter
they haven't finished yet
it's a mushroom grower
let me show you
with locals materials.... here of course it's the jungle that provides it to them
attention Duke it's slippery
DUKE * yeah yeah yeah....
a little mushroom grower room
so in all the bags you have spores in it
and so they will have their own mushroom culture
the essentials need is to provide all of it without help from outside
It's difficult because they are far from everything
You need anyway, a car or a vehicle to move
Vehicle means gas
A little detail that may shock a lot of you
Here the village is moslty composed from farmers
either it's beef breeding
or vegetables
Or rice, you have some rice fields around here
on the great years
they can expect a medium income of...
10 000 Baht for one year
10 000 Baht ...
1€ is about 37 Baht with the change currency
So for a year, they can expect an income of...
Less than 300€
So I think now you can understand a little....
Duke * Remind yourself the value of 1€ here...
Remember the value of 1€
For not even the paintballs that you are shooting in one day of practice with your teammates
It's what allow them to live for one year
because with 10 000 Baht they can do it
Thank You.
Dear friends, we have fews minutes of calm
we just had lunch in the school
we are full belly
We ate the same thing as the kids
Rice with vegetables
protein has been provided by some omelettes
the eggs were brought by our friend Kun
who lives in the village down in the district
The kids are back to classrooms
So they had only an hour to relax
eat
and now they are back until 4 oclock in classrooms
so we have few minutes, We wanted to thank...
we are going to thank you
to everybody that supported us in this project
mind support, financial support, all donations etc etc
Without all of you, it would be difficult for us
to reach this place with loaded arms
that's the most important
even if the most of the support is a moral one
It's as important as giving 1€,2€, 3€, 10€, 100€ 1000€
It's not the amount that counts
at least, it comforts us in our action
at the beginnin, it was a personnal initiative, we are here between friends, we want to help
criticable or not...
we absolutely don't care...
the most important thing is that we provided some help
and show them, that outside, somewhere else
The kids here, we think of them
and if the few things we brought with us, give them smile
some comfort.... and on top of it, Hope
it's not about yelling about this but...
We are ultra connected, everyday ,facebook, tv, mobile phones and stuffs
we cannot say that most of the time, all the coms we see
all the remarks, the complaining
people are always complaining... all the time...
I have one thing to say to you guys
Take a flight, come here .. or somewhere else
there's a lot of countries, where the population , the kids are suffering
Come here and you'll see that the needs aren't the same
the ressources aren't the same
and what they have in their hands...
most of the time, they are satisfied with it
until now, I don't think that we've experienced
that was adults or kids
that came to us for claiming anything
I have no memories of it
it's the second time that we come here
we are hosted with smile whatever their conditions
They say hello , they are polite
and nothing can replace the smile
... the kid that you give something...
even a smile, we played with them
we kicked some few balls with them in their court
it's comforting
For me...
it's not a breathe but it's comforting me in the fact that...
we don't live in a tottaly rotten society
somewhere around us, there also some people who lives
not the same way as us
but the kids that we met...
they are here , they learn
They learn to read, to write... I would say they learn to live
but for most of us, when we realize the atmosphere ans the conditions in which they grow up
it' looks like they are surviving... no ...
I think it's the opposite... We are surviving...
we survive everyday, trying to work to pay our bills, our taxes and stuffs
trying to buy the last phone, the TV 4k, the Car....
come here...
you'll see that it isn't the most important...
don't forget that here, they told us earlier that the government isn't helping them...
It's important for you to know this
we were surprised by this little detail...
the main school that we helped last year, we return back there tommorrow
it's a district school
so a big part of the needs is provided by the governement
here the school where we stand in this little village.
we are in the moutains, 25km away, I will say bird flight distance
It took us 2h to reach the place
not easily
and this school is totally, totally independent
it provides its own needs by itself the best way possible
there's only 2 teachers
for 61 students
from 5 to 12 years old
Food, electricity, water
they have to deal themselves with it
Governemnt isn't providing anything... neither, pencils, books
It's only donations or families that are giving them some stuffs
Any help, whatever it is
is primordial to them
The food for example, the most of it is given by a monk
who comes from Maewin, the main village
he tries to come once a month
to bring them some food
they pay themselves for electricity
for that, the village is giving money to the school to pay the electricity
Safe water, here you don't have Running Water
water is provided by recovery tanks
rain water mainly
for safe water they use bottled water
We had the idea to provide them a water filtration station
the main teacher told us that they received one.
someone donate it
except that they can't install it, because they have a lack of tanks
The tanks are important here
even if we are in the mountains, in a very wet region
the precipitations are only few months a year with the monsoon season
and year after year they tolds us
there is less and less rain
the main use for water here is for culture
we certainly have the chance to show you where they are living...
if not, the water for everyday use
is provided by the water tanks
and now they are in lack of it
We want to thank you all
we will quote the few companies, teams who sponsored us
by providing us, money or some stuff to sell to raise fund for the kids
GI sportz
DLX
PUSH Paintball
DROM
some playing fields, not even products companies
Playing fields in France like XSL paintball in Bretagne
Fanatic paintball in Bordeaux
Thank you Yannick, Thank you Laurent
who made bank transfer
I'm sorry with feelings and stress...
The teams yeah...
Vision, Carnage, Tontons, Pirates
There was also some player that gave us some jerseys, things of their own
SlamJack helped us
Guys help me...
In France mainly, the french players because they gave us a lot
All of the people that came to us on the TPOC tournament in ChiangMai
Yes of course we have to thank
some unexpected supports...
for example there is a team from Singapore
The PSP
they are doing on their own charity actions
they helped earthquake victims in Indonesia recently
They raises funds, they bought food and clothes, and brought it in Indonesia
they came to us by themselves, congratulate us, show us their project
this is this kind of action, localised
that gives us enthusiasm, motivates us
at least, we don't feel alone, we are not the only fools
in a mad world
in a sport that we love, it's aour passion...
but it's still a leisure...
but on the side if we can show that we know how to shoot people
we also know how to give to others a bit of our time and money
we did not came here to talk about paintball to the kids
they don't care about...
another funny example... during the tournament in Chiang Mai
we got visited by a french couple
Who lives in Chiang Mai
In fact they are the parents of a French Player, Seb
He asked us the adress for the tournament and his parents came to meet us there.
to watch a lil' bit, and they gave us a donation too
it's the kind of gesture that warms us
it was totally unexpected.
then a lot of teams came to us with some money
the local medias, the photographers that were covering the event, they came with ans envelope for us
It's awesome.
they didn't know us
some of them knew us, we came last year, they looked at us like ET
what are they doing? why, how...?
and for the second time, it has been an ice breaker between us
we had some talks, we exchanged some point of views
and even some future projects together
at least, after 2 times, they realize that's a serious project
it wasn't a one shot thing
again, we aren't a big organization
I'm going on with the thanks, we had a lot of moral support with the little funny thing of the "selfies"
we had picture from USA
From South America
I had some contact, in Costa Rica, Mexico
Venezuela, Colombia
Panama...
they MP us to congratulate us for our action
some of them told us that it would be great to do the same
Go on, Do it
If we can inspire other people to do the same
This does not belong to us.
Move your asses, and again, we are not talking about big amounts of money
when I think about we are shooting a whole box of paint for pratice
and the quarter of it , finish on the ground when you reload, or shooting at the chronograàph....
do you know the value of it ?
here, it provides them one or several days of lunch
think about it... next time
Top , we are for sure forgetting a lot of people... but we wanted to thank you to for this project...
you started this last year, a second time and a third time hoping for better next time....
I thank you guys, to follow me in my delirium... 'cause at the beginning.... fiooooh....
I asked myself... in which trouble am I making to myself....
honeslty, we had some fights between us... we were tired...
honestly when you come here... they are singing... listen...
It's for this that we are here....
the kids are singing songs
they learn to read and write...
It's for this we are doing all of this... We forget everything...
A special Thanks... It's more personnal...
Thanks and big kisses to Delphine, Clement and Gabriel, my children
I think of you, and when I'm here, I'm not only doing this for myself
also for you
and somehow... I'm giving back what life gave me
It gave me 3 beautiful children
I think that you're in lack of anything...
And if I'm here, If daddy is far away from you...
It's also because, you have to share this
Happiness you always have to share it
you can't keep it for yourself
when I hear this, I think of you, I love you guys
