For Rupees 10,20,30?
Give me the one for 10.
Sure. Here you go.
Who else wants ?
Why do you like cotton candy?
Because it is sweet and has a beautiful colour. That's why.
Its my favourite colour. Pink.
So if its not in Pink, wont you eat it?
I will still eat it. Because I love its taste.
It spins so fast that you dont even realize its ready..
..as if Spiderman is running it.
Do you have any childhood memories eating cotton candy?
Yes, it reminds me of the Dussehra mela.
This uncle would bring his machine to our local fair.
We would go to these fairs on our bicycles..
..and would look for him at the fair hoping to get some free candy.
As soon as we found him, he would give each of us a candy and shoo us away.
He knew that the longer we stayed, the more candy we would ask for.
That's why he would send us away.
My name is Mohammad Kamil
and I have been making cotton candy machines for nearly 35 years.
Initially I used to sit at another shop and my uncle would make these machines..
..and then I asked him to teach me. I would
spend the entire day learning how to make them.
And gradually by Allah's grace, I became
successful and started making these machines well
Yes...I was very fond of it
I was born in Jaunpur district, Sarai Bhogi village.
Sarai Bhogi village is in Jaunpur district.
My birthday is 3rd March 1981
What is a normal day? Every day I have to do the same thing.
Everyday I wake up in the morning and do my daily chores..
..and then I have to cook food, eat and then I leave for work.
..but I almost never leave before 10.30 in the morning.
Behind every man is a family of 6-8 people.
so imagine how much will he earn and what will he make out of it.
Will he feed his children and educate them? What will he do?
I have to earn, dont I? If I dont earn, what will the kids eat?
I have to pay their fees.. they are studying.
They need uniforms too. Is it possibile with my earnings?
I have to live and eat within these limited means.
In order to achieve something in life, some pain has to be borne.
Initially, we would make a profit of atleast Rs.2000-3000
Now all these mall have opened up bigger shops.
More than half of our customers have been taken by them.
We are left with a few middle class customers..
..we cannot make too much profit.
I can only take care of my basic needs from these earnings. Nothing more.
