Hello, I was once DANOvly and now I'm one of DANO crews.
My name is Kyuone. I've been on Habit Shaping for about 8 months.
We've started giving out one month MYDANO trial ticket for those of you whose story has been chosen for DSI episode.
A lot of you were wondering whose story has been selected.
Let's read the story now.
Hello, I'm 19 years old DANOvly who is currently working. I started working right after I graduated from High School.
While I'm satisfied with my current life, I also wish to study more and one day work in the office related to aviation.
Yet, I've been failing to lose weight and I can't even think about applying to go to university to study that major.
It's not that I have not tried hard enough.
I spent total one million won for herbal dieting medicine, and three million won for personal training.
Yet, I stopped eating the medicine after my period has stopped and I fainted away.
Then, I stopped personal training after I hurt my knees and hip joint.
I spent a lot of money for dieting but I've failed. Now, I feel guilty and I do not feel confident anymore.
I then tried replacing all my meals to salads and exercised for 5 hours a day.
I lost total 10 kgs, but I gained weight again after about two weeks.
These terrible dieting cycles are repeating constantly.
I stop eating until my hands shake, but once I start eating I eat until my stomach hurts.
Then I realize what I'm doing and start vomiting by putting my fingers inside my mouth.
This habit burst all blood vessels on my face after about two weeks.
Thinking that I'm going crazy, I cried so much.
I feel like everyone points the finger at me by looking what I'm doing.
I feel scared when I need to wear clothes.
Then, luckily, I met DANO unnie from DANO Shop pop up store at Pangyo.
Since I've been going through lots of hardships in my life, I cried while getting a counseling from DANO unnie. DANO unnie's advice and warm encouragement meant a lot to me.
I've started having healthy lifestyle and felt confident again.
Yet, due to the stress I got from the work, irregular lifestyle from working three shifts, and by watching my friends' preparation to go to college, I once again, got depressed since I could not lose weight.
I blamed everything to me who is fat, and I started binge eating and vomiting again.
I think, 'Why do I fail all the time?', the thought that makes me depressed.
Then, feeling that I do not want to care about anything, I start eating a lot, then vomiting.
I want to change my eating habits so much.
I will become 20 soon, and I hope to feel beautiful and confident about myself.
She sent us this long letter.
I feel so bad.
A lot of people cried while I was counseling them at Pangyo.
They are going through a lot.
Yes, I remember her story as well.
I'm proud of her that she has started working so early in her life.
Let's investigate her meals and see what she can do.
Let's see how she can change her lifestyle healthier.
If she's working in three shifts, she might skip her meals and stuff.
She's eating well.
Most of the time, she eats some fruits or Brown Rice Soul (cereal) for her breakfast.
Her breakfast is fine.
For her lunch, she sometimes eats what she wants to eat/ smoked veggies and meat.
Those are all good.
She eats ½ of rice, little bit of sauce, and no soup. Her lunch is also very good.
Let's see her dinner now.

What is this?
It's a sandwich. Sandwich with cheese.
Chocolate bars, chocolate ice cream, and cheese cake.
So she ate a lot of carbs for her dinner.
She also ate an ice cream for her snack.
Even though she eats fine breakfast, she ate a lot of fruits.
To be honest, one apple for breakfast is fine, but she ate quite a lot of fruits.
Also for her lunch, she ate so many fruits.
This is too much sugar.
Also the sugar from fruits do not give satiety.
This type of sugar is not used right after when it comes inside our body.
This means that the sugar from fruits may just stimulate our hunger.
So when you are really hungry, you can feel even more hungry if you eat fruits.
So her body wanted more sugar for her dinner resulting her to eat all these sugary foods.
For the next day, on the other hand, she ate cabbage and fruits for her dinner.
But then for Wednesday, she ate creamy waffle.
But again, she eats cabbages the next day.
For that day, she drank soy milk and almonds for breakfast.
She can eat heavy lunch for this kind of day, but she just ate a sandwich.
Then she ate cabbage for her dinner.
I was once like this when I did not know much about nutrition.
I felt like fruits are healthy so I ate a lot of fruits and I feel satisfied at the moment, but then I feel the hunger some times later so I eat another sweet foods.
When I see her meal plan, I see how hard she tried to control her dinner.
But the problem is she ate a lot of sugary foods time to time.
For Saturday, she ate everything on this photo.
This is when she binge eats.
She has this mindset: "This is what I shouldn't eat", "this is what I should eat!" She is like dividing foods into two category.
Once she cross the line, she can't come back. She just eats and eats.
Look at this photo. It doesn't look that pleasing.
This kind of menu even triggers her to binge eat.
Our body wants to maintain current weight as much as they can.
Once I lower the calorie intake for a day, our body tries really hard to maintain the calorie intake we used to intake.
Our body makes us to binge eat by making us to desire more sugar.
Or stopping us from burning calories by making us to skip working out.
So in order to successfully lose weight, we have to make an environment where our body feels satisfied.
There are lots of delicious dieting recipes.
Yes, there are foods that look delicious, smell delicious, and have lots of colors in it.
We should be able to excite our sense while eating foods.
Based on my own experience of losing weight, I suggest her to think about nutritional balance for her breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
For her breakfast and lunch, she can eat more fulfilling foods so that she doesn't feel that hungry for rest of her day.
Also, one of the thing that helped me the most when I tried to lose weight was the habit of eating healthy snacks.
So she might want to pack some snacks inside her bag so that she can eat whenever she feels hungry.
Then, she can prevent the eagerness of wanting so much sugary foods.
Also, she can be free from the obsessive feeling that she needs to control her appetite.
I suggest her to bring snacks and keep nutritional balance for her meals.

I think she loves chocolates.
It's good to find some healthy chocolate options.
For chocolate lovers, we need to satisfy our taste that desires chocolate.
Choose a dark chocolate with over 70% of cacao content.

I overcame my chocolate eagerness with that recipe.
It's so delicious.
Find your ways to satisfy your chocolate eagerness.
I also recently filmed a Choco-sweet-potato recipe.
It's a chocolate bread made with sweet potatoes and cacao powder.
Find a recipe that you like.
Last thing I want to suggest you is that: try to not to divide every foods into two category - "this is a bad food" or "this is a good food".
You are young.
You will have more days to use your body than you already used.
Instead of binge eating and vomiting, hurting your body, I hope you to encourage yourself who has been doing and trying so hard.
Everything is a process to find your own answer.
You have already tried lots of different methods.
You planned your meals, it failed so you sent us your story.
The fact that you think about this critically is already telling us that you have successfully started taking care of yourself.
I want to complement this a lot.
Instead of scolding yourself, I hope you to encourage yourself a lot.
