TWICE Nayeon Just Dyed Her Hair Pink, Here's What She Look Like

TWICE's Nayeon has changed her hair to a dark pink color and fans are loving it.

TWICE Nayeon Just Dyed Her Hair Pink, Here's What She Look Like. TWICE's Nayeon has changed her hair to a dark pink color and fans are loving it.

Changing hairstyles and hair colors before a comeback is a common practice for many idol group members and it seems that this time, TWICE's Nayeon has ditched her normally dark brown hair for a more exciting color, pink.

TWICE has just announced that they will be making a comeback on May 15 and this may very well be the reason behind her most recent hair color change.

It seems that instead of going for a drastic change and dyeing her hair bright pink, she has decided to go for a more muted darker pink. Check out these photos of her pink hair below!.

Her sneak peek at her newly dyed pink hair, with matching eyeshadow!.

The pink looks a bit more toned down here.

She really can pull off any hair colour.

It is such a unique pink compared to the bright pink normally seen on idols.

[EP12] LA BOUM / The Additionnal Scene (english subtitles) - Duration: 4:18.

1 and 2 and 1 and 2... Feel the flow, come on !

God damn, it's worse than your barmidzva.

Shut your mouse.

It's "mouth", you idiot !

Hey boys, you're Ok ?

Okey dokey !

Hi !

I saw you came with a wonderful senorita… She looks hot, introduce me !

It's my mother.

What ?

Yeah… She wanted to keep an eye on me. She wants me to lose my virginity.

She's single ?

That's her kissing François right there ?

No, impossible...

Shit ! Mum, come on !

The Additionnal Scene

The Party

You're not my mother, asshole.

But mom, you can't kiss François !

Why ? Give me a good reason.

He's 13 !

And what ? He looks mature.

Lady Mom of Pascal, Gutentag Frauline !

I have a name, kid.

Oh, and what is that marvelous name, if I may ?

That's your friends ? I'm not surprised that nobody talks to you.

I didn't say anything yet.

No, but you look dumber than your friend !

Come on, do something with your mom !

Do what ? I can't tie her to the bed.

My father do that with my mom…

Your mother is hot !

We said "not mothers".

I thought you wanted to date Vic ?

Yeah, but she wanted me to sing a serenade and I changed my mind.

It's the kind of thing you do when she's on a balcony ?

Yeah but she live on the 7th floor… She didn't hear me last time.

And now a grandma send me love letters with nude pics.

Can I see that ?

Give her flowers.

Maybe but I don't know the name of that granny.

I say that for Vic, pervert !

Oh, I'm afraid of her reaction.

Push her on a wall and kiss her.

I'm afraid of police.

Kiss ? You talk about sex ?

You're not gonna be a grown man by reading hot stories on Ceefax, Pascal !

Stop mom, there's people in there !

I wanted to keep an eye on you but I don't know what can possibly happen in here.

Look there ! Those 2 are sleeping and dancing in the same time.

Come on, wake up !

I love cougars.

I think I have an erection.

Ok, end of erection.

You could ask me if I wanted you to be there.

My dear, when I was pushing, legs in the air, at 3am to give you birth,

you didn't ask me permission to "be there" ! So stay calm.

We look like losers, seriously… And look how we're dressed up !

That's your fault. You said it was "fashion".

Everybody make jokes on us because we look like grandma's !

I love grandma's !

My ass is full.

Ok I know it's my fault, we won't stay.

That's not what I meant… My mother gave me Lycra panties. I sweat.

Who is that "Lycra" ? That's great wearing someone else panties…

Not "who" but "what", you pervert.

Is your Mom wearing Lycra ?

Stop with my mom, she's not a whore !

Who want to see boobies !

- Boobies ! Boobies ! Boobies ! - She's beautiful...

You could be friend with Vic's best friend. Her confidant, maybe ?

Her confidant is Poupette.

Her dog ?

No, her grandma.

Grandma Poupette ?

Stop that. I don't want to see Vic anymore…

There's papaya !

You're speaking another language ?

Papaya, the fruit you idiot ! There's papaya but where is alcohol ?

No alcohol. Raoul's parents don't want to see us drunk.

Raoul ? With that name, I'm sure parent's kept alcohol for themselves…

Mom, please, leave me alone !

You want a kick in the ass ?

So, Raoul's gang, listen. If a girl can take care of my son it could be great.

And when I say "take care", yes it's sexual.

I can tell you that if they make a movie about that party, there is nothing in there to make a second episode !

Pronouncing Words Ending 'ed' - Easy English Pronunciation - Duration: 7:01.

English Pronunciation is hard, and that's just a fact.

If you didn't grow up in an English speaking country, you probably find it quite hard to

make all the sounds English native speakers do.

One of the most common ending sounds in English is "ed".

We use it for verb 2, verb 3, with many adjectives and even some nouns.

The problem is, many people don't make this sound correctly.

Stay tuned, as I make "ed" pronunciation, easy.

I'm about to put up four words, all of which end in "-ed".

I'd like you to take a moment and try and say them.

OK, good.

Did they all sound the same?

If so, you've made a mistake! "-ed" ending sounds is difficult, but it's also very important.

In English grammar, we normally change the end of the word, not the beginning of the

word.

So knowing how to make the correct ending sounds, lets other people know you have a

good understanding of English grammar, and understand how we change words depending on

the situation in which we are using them.

Before we cover how to pronounce "ed" words, we have to understand the meaning of one very

important word: that's the word syllable.

A syllable is a unit of sound, or a beat in a word.

We have to be able to correctly count the number of syllables in a word otherwise we

won't be able to pronounce "-ed" endings correctly, or a lot of other words correctly.

Let's go through some examples.

The word 'apple' has two syllables, "ah" "ple".

The word 'pen' has only one syllable, "pen".

The word porcupine has three syllables, "por" "cu" "pine".

The word 'watermelon' has four syllables, "wah" "ter" "mel" "lon".

Now that we have a good understanding of what a syllable is, let's work on pronouncing 'ed'

on the end of words.

On the left, I have a list of verbs in their base form, and on the right they are in their

past simple form.

You'll notice that these are regular verbs, because we always add "ed" to the end of regular

verbs.

Let's count how many syllables each word has.

Play has 1 syllable.

Open has 2 syllables.

Work has 1.

Watch has 1.

Need has 1.

And create has 2.

I'll now say each word in its verb 2 form, and we'll check if the number of syllables

has changed.

Played has 1.

Opened has 2.

Worked has 1.

Watched has 1.

Needed has 2, and created has 3.

the number of syllables for played, opened, worked and watched hasn't changed, but the

number of syllables for needed and created has increased by 1.

We'll explain this soon.

The word played has a very soft "d" or d-sound at the end.

"played".

Imagining it was spelled PLAYD may help you here.

Opened also has a soft "d" at the end, like it was spelled OPEND.

How about worked?

Is that a "d"?

No, It's actually a "t" or a soft "t" sound.

This is because it's too difficult to make a "d" sound after the letter K, so instead

we make a T sound, "t".

Here, we have the first two rules of "-ed" endings.

First, try and make a "d" sound; a soft D. If that's too difficult, or not possible,

we instead use rule number 2: Which is to use a "t" sound, or a soft T. Watched is the

same as worked; we add a "t", not a "d".

We can imagine the words were spelled WORKT "worked", or WATCHT, "watched" to help remind

us how to say them correctly.

Now we get to the two examples which required us to add an additional syllable.

If you remember, they are created and needed.

So, why do we have to add another syllable for these words?

Well, the trick is to look at the letter that comes before "ed".

If you see the word needed, you can see it ends with "ded".

If you look at the word created, you can see it ends with "ted".

These are rules 3 and 4: adding "did" or "tid".

So, we can imagined needed as being spelled "NEE-DID", and created as being spelled "CREE-AY-TID".

Now that we've learned and practiced the four rules of -ed pronunciation, it's your turn

to practice.

I want you to try and pronounce these four words, and make a note if you have to use

"d", "t", "did", or "tid" sounds, at the end.

How did you go?

You should've said "interested", with a "tid" sound.

"bored", with a "d" sound.

"washed" with a "t" sound.

An "decided" with a "did" or DID sound.

The more you practice these sounds, the more you'll notice patterns with which letters

come before "ed", do you have a tough word?

Post it in the comments below, and test the other viewers.

India to Canada flying with British Airways travel vlog (Kolkata - Mumbai - London - Toronto) - Duration: 14:04.

Only two.

Well I think you can guess where we are.

Back at the airport.

Back at the airport.

So yeah, this is it for us in India.

We have got a lot flights ahead of us.

Why don't you tell us about those.

Well okay.

Haha.

So initially we were thinking of traveling around Asia a little bit longer.

Yeah.

But honestly it has been like seven or eight months.

No, it has been longer.

It has been closer to nine I think.

Yeah.

Anyways, it has been a long time and we're feeling a little bit tired.

We're missing family, we also want to visit our pets.

So we're heading back to Canada.

Yeah, and there is a new addition to Audrey's family.

Yeah, so we have a German Shepherd.

It is kind of sad but my two cats and my dog past away in the last year.

In the last few months.

Yeah.

So we'll be meeting my German Shepard Togo.

My pup brother.

Togo.

I already call him Wolfie.

He looks like a little wolf.

Yeah, he is really cute.

We can't wait to meet him for the 1st time.

So first things first we're at the Food Boulevard inside the airport and we're going to go get

some food because we didn't have a very big breakfast.

And I'm hungry and Sam is hungry and the food looks good here.

Sam was kind enough to go get me food and I'm having some stir-fried noodles with vegetables.

What you got looks really good as well.

I know.

What did you get?

Haha.

Sneak peak over here.

I got cheese dosa and one of my favorite Indian desserts - Jalebi.

So and that is not all.

You went to another little stand for Momos.

There is more momos and the best part about the more momos is that there is going to be

two kinds of them.

So there is a chocolate add on.

Oh.

Yeah.

Dessert.

That is a surprise.

So we have paneer momos and chocolate momos coming.

So pour dear Audrey over here has a bit of a cold.

Oh my gosh it won't go away.

Anyways I'm really interested in this spork.

A spoon and a fork.

Spork.

Is it actually what it is called?

Rolled into one.

I think so.

Or did you just invent a name.

No, I'm pretty sure there is such a thing as a spork.

And this is still steaming.

Wow.

Let's see how it is.

It looks pretty good.

So they had the choice between Sichuan and Garlic sauce but they said the Sichuan sauce

was too hot so I got you garlic.

Because I know your throat is a little sore too.

Mmmm.

How is that?

This is spicy too.

Is it?

Oh no.

A little spicy but I like that is has vegetables.

We've got carrots.

Oh my gosh.

Carrots, peas, corn.

Uh, cabbage.

So a little bit of everything and yeah my mouth is already on fire.

But this is really tasty and let's show yours next.

Alright, so I decided to get a cheese dosa.

I'm just going to unwrap it for you guys.

Look at that thing of beauty.

Time to roll is back up.

You can see the melted cheese in there.

So I'm just going to rip that bad boy in half and yeah I've got lots of dipping sauces.

This is pretty cool.

Something that looks like dal.

That looks like a spicy one.

No idea what that one is.

It is probably a curd or a yoghurt based sauce.

The white one.

Oh man that is good.

Oh yeah, the food just keeps coming.

So we got paneer.

Um, basically deep-fried momos which are the typical Indian style dumplings and man these

look good.

These look really good.

They look like little packages.

They do.

And they are piping hot.

I literally just picked them up.

Maybe too hot.

And the paneer for anyone who doesn't know is like the Indian type of cottage cheese

so it should be really good.

I dipped it in what appears to be like a palak sauce.

A spinach sauce.

Oh wow.

Oh man.

Yeah, those are good.

You can see the

cheese in there.

Look at how much is in there.

They are plump.

Generously stuffed.

Mmmhmm.

Yeah, plump is a good word to describe them.

Well, well time to indulge your sweet tooth Audrey.

Ready to do the honors.

Here we go.

Oh my look at that.

Hahaha...that looks messy.

Oh is there chocolate inside?

Oh woah.

Look at that.

How is it?

It is kind of like a chocolate muffin.

Is it?

It is like doughy chocolate inside.

When I first saw it I thought oh it kind of looks like a brownie inside.

Yeah, like a brownie.

You're right.

It is more like a brownie than a muffin.

Oh okay.

Status update with Audrey Bergner.

Status update.

We're going to our gate and we should be boarding in an hour and then we'll be in Mumbai.

You know what?

We''ll have 5 or 6 hours to kill.

This has been a really comfortable airport.

It is not too crowded, it is very modern.

I think it opened not too long ago.

Lots of really good services.

Good restaurants.

It is so cold.

The AC.

I like.

I love the AC.

It is like winter in here.

This is colder than Canada.

Hahaha.

No it is not.

Rabbato.

Wake-y wakey.

Leg one of three completed.

We made it to Bombay and now we're picking up our bags.

And they didn't give us our like boarding passes for the other two legs of the journey.

And they didn't check our luggage through so we may have to go out and back in again.

You know what?

It actually gives us something to do because we have 9 hours to kill.

I know.

Oh my gosh.

Yeah.

Our flight is 6 pm right now and our flight isn't until 2 am.

Actually sorry 8 hours.

We can spend one hour eating.

That is because our plane was late.

Yeah, we're definitely going to get some food guys.

Yes.

Food is on the agenda.

So it is dinner time here in Bombay.

Yep, so here in Mumbai we found well we basically found Mexican food.

Oh lah lah.

Where we are actually waiting like if you were to go to another food section we'd have

to exit through security.

That is a pain so there isn't a lot of restaurant options here.

So we found this spot it looked kind of comfortable and yeah most of the food was like Mexican,

American burgers and International.

International they had like tamales and stuff like that so yeah we're just gonna.

The cheese.

It looks good.

So this kind of tastes like doritos out of a bag with like some cheese whiz, tomatoes,

beans.

So it is not bad.

For Mexican food in India I can't really complain.

Yeah, it is not going to win any awards but it hits the spot.

Mmmhmm.

We're hungry.

And I can't believe we're hungry.

We ate on the plane and we ate before we got on the plane.

I had breakfast.

You can't believe we're hungry.

We're always hungry.

And then the second order has arrived.

We got a vegetable fondue and it comes with toast, bread and fries.

Let's try that fondue.

Dip it in.

It is not bad.

Yeah, it is pretty good.

Pretty good.

Thumbs up.

Thumbs up.

And this is the part where we've become irredeemable piggies.

Okay, all Sam had to do was go and order one dessert and he comes back and he's like I

think I accidentally ordered two.

How does that happen?

I couldn't decide between the two.

Accidentally.

Accidentally.

So we've got um that one is fudge tort.

Okay.

And this one over here is brownie.

So ooh.

Yeah, why don't you try them both.

It is like a chocolate extravaganza.

Yeah.

Yummy?

That is good.

Let's try this one too.

Oooh.

Wow.

Mmmm.

Decadent.

Do you like one more than the other?

The tort.

Mmmm.

Tort for the wine.

Here is a little secret.

I packed the deodorant in my checked luggage so I haven't put some on in a while but I've

just went through the duty free and grabbed some perfume and spff.

And that is going to be my plan for every airport stop.

You're becoming more like me all of the time.

Like you value your cheapskate moments.

Free samples!

So I don't even remember when I was last in India.

It was probably like six, seven or eight years ago but I do remember that Mumbai Airport

did not look like this.

Like it is swanky.

They've redecorated and renovated and it is really pretty.

So I'm going to find a seat and Sam is going to give you a tour.

What you doing?

Say hi.

I found a piece of furniture that could be a table or it could be like some kind of couch

or some kind of chair.

Right now it is my bed.

Zombie mode.

It is 2 AM.

Fresh off of the plane and priorities when in the UK.

What is the first thing you did?

Fresh is a very relative.

Okay.

When you've been traveling as long as us but uh.

Okay now this is a major confession time.

It may look like I'm just opening this but surprise I've probably had like three quarters

of the fudge already.

There is only three pieces left.

And I already know how good it tastes so yeah.

I think I'll give Audrey one.

You're not a big fudge fan.

I don't even like fudge that much.

Which is a good thing for me.

I've been thinking about this moment for days.

For days.

I was thinking like what can I get in London that I really want to have.

And this is not just any kind of fudge.

It comes from Scotland.

This is Scottish traditional fudge.

And you can actually find this brand Ms. Tilleys.

Mrs Tilleys.

You can find it in some Canadian supermarkets.

Not many.

Actually I've only seen it in once in Fredericton.

But man it is good.

Ooh.

So I go off on a little food mission to spend the rest of our quid and what do I come back

with?

Well this looks like salmon and cream cheese sandwich and then a gingerbread man because

Sam says apparently this is very British.

I don't think so.

This is just festive.

It is festive.

Actually it reminds me of home.

I used to have ginger bread men when I visited my grandparents as a little boy.

When Sam was a little boy.

When I was a little wee one.

A little red headed boy.

Oh man I'm so congested I can barely hear myself speaking.

Look at all of that salmon.

It looks good.

It looks so good.

Because we haven't been eating enough have we?

No.

Actually breakfast on the plane was pretty sucky.

Well you're not going to believe this but we stopped for food yet again.

We're still in London.

We haven't gone anywhere.

So mint tea, hash browns, avocado, we have French Toast with blueberries.

The star of the show.

Some ham and baked beans.

Baked beans.

Oh my gosh.

You're going to sample it all for us.

And we're going to be fed on the plane because it is like an eight flour eight hour flight.

I'm not I'm going to have no room to eat the plane food.

That is not such a bad thing.

This is way better.

And we're at the Giraffe which you can see up there.

Heading over to the T Dot.

Last leg.

Final.

Three of three.

Almost there.

Oh my goodness we are here.

We are out.

We arrived in Toronto probably like two hours ago bu we had to sit on the plane because

someone was sick and paramedics had to come on and then the immigration line was really

long.

We're here.

There is Sam.

My sister picked me up.

We're on our way home and we're going to meet my dog.

Well not my dog.

My Dad's dog.

My family dog.

Ahh.

Togo.

Anyways it has been a very long video.

Three flights over the course of like two days.

So we're going to say goodbye.

Goodbye everyone.

Now it is time to meet Wolfie.

Wolfie that is my name.

Hahaha.

That is not his name.

It is Togo.

Haha bye.

Say hi Togo.

Hello to the world.

I'm a cute puppy.

Look this way Togo.

3 Progress Blockers - Stop Perfectionism - Be Grateful and Appreciate What You Have - Duration: 27:43.

hey hey hey good morning Facebook family

and friends happy Monday to you it is

your girl Dallas G coming at you live

checking in on a Monday I hope you guys

enjoy your weekend so oh before I get

started let me introduce myself so for

y'all for those of you who don't know

what I do do online

I am Dallas Gordon the income cache

Queen okay so if you've been struggling

with your traffic in sales I am your

girl okay and you can revisit me at econ

cash queen calm you can join my group

hey Tracy Tracy

jameelah don't be hello from the other

side on my live stream but you know I

should bring you in live team I should

get you this morning probably in your

robe when your scarf and all that crazy

stuff happy Monday Paula good morning to

you honey thank you so much for coming

in life so three progress blockers guys

three progress blockers okay number one

I used to think that if I didn't have it

all together

oh god I I used to think that if I

didn't have it all together

don't put that thought in my mind then I

okay look I couldn't get on a live

stream I couldn't tell you anything you

know how can I preach to others or how

can I encourage others or how can I

motivate others in business when I still

have my own personal struggles thank you

so much for that love Paula of my own so

I think a lot of us feel that way so I

think for a long time that kept me from

helping other people because I felt as

though I'm not perfect where I don't

have it all together so how do I have a

right to tell anybody else well here's

the thing so the number one progress

blocker is you're trying to wait for

everything in your life to be perfect

before you move out with your purpose

you're trying to wait for everything to

be cookie-cut perfect and clean in your

life for you to move out into your

purpose I mean I'm not gonna lie y'all

some days my purpose scares me and I

don't know if I can really do what I'm

supposed to do thanks Jimmy liqueur but

I like I don't know if I can do what I'm

supposed to do or move forward and my

purpose because I'm not perfect I got my

own schisms and things going on in

my life and things that are not perfect

I have my own things oh you're saying it

okay your dress love you Tracy okay

honey I know you're supporting me so I

got I know you got me girl but I was

waiting around guys for things to be a

hundred percent perfect in my life

before I wanted to share my testimony I

wanted to share where I've come from I

wanted to make sure I had all of the

pieces like I knew everything and some

people do that like before they join a

business or an opportunity guys they

wait to be perfect they wait to have all

the pieces all the information but wait

I haven't gone through every single

training video I haven't done this I

haven't done that right hey Shana good

morning if you guys are coming in like

me please say hello to me and help me to

share with your friends thank you so

much for coming in live today exactly

there is no such thing as perfect guys

it's a myth there is no perfect life hey

what's up reginald stinson thank you so

much bro thank you so much for coming in

life exactly okay professor there is no

but there is no such thing as perfect

there is no such thing as perfect guys

so if you thought it was a such thing as

perfect let me just let you know that

that's the biggest lie ever even some of

the people that seem like they have it

all together they have the perfect life

they have the perfect marriage they have

the white picket fence they have the

children inside oh thank you so much

Sean oh you're walking at the park it's

a nice day for that it's a nice day so

people think that everything has to be

crystal clear right because they think

that society has put exactly these

pictures of running exactly jameelah

none of us have it all together we all

have our stuff and even in business like

I don't have it all together guys

sometimes I can be really unorganized

sometimes I procrastinate sometimes I

don't follow through I mean I just

finished telling you I've been pretty

much dragging the same task along hey

Trista good morning girl I've been I'm

dragging the same task along guys for

like three weeks so I'm not perfect and

even though some people are oh you doing

it you killing it you get it no I have a

crazy life right Jameel like I have 100

kids right

Marleen hey good morning marlane thank

you

so much for coming laughs me so the

first progress blocker guys is stop

waiting until you have all of your ducks

in a row to move out in your purpose

because guess what you're never going to

have all your ducks in a row to move out

and your purpose so just stop trying

okay I mean I'm not saying so I'm trying

but just stop trying to be perfect

people like you you're perfectly

imperfect and people like you just the

way that they are

Dallas's you really exactly like in

jameelah's terms I have 250 kids and a

business to run so I'm pretty busy okay

so so life is not perfect

it's not always easy and the good thing

about this list I'm sharing with you is

that it's all within your control you

can control it okay so nobody else is in

control of your own purpose of your own

destiny but you so that's number one

number two is okay self conscious okay

one of my main reasons for not getting

online video and talking to you guys

with self-consciousness oh my god you

know right Tracy it just goes up and up

doesn't it girl like I'm having all

these kids every week I got a hundred

more kids with her right is she some

month so um I used to not do a lot of

things for fear of what people would

think about me I felt like I was a bit

just don't encourage her y'all I was a

very very private person

so I felt like I didn't want to put my

business out there in the street I had

this online business when I first

started years ago and I didn't really

want my Facebook friends to know about

my business I wanted to keep it personal

I didn't want to get on video because I

was so self-conscious and myself like oh

you know what if I look this way the

lighting is in Rio she wouldn't say see

this spot on my face with this bump it

is what it is right but I was worried

about what people think of me and what

happens is when you unite your purpose

yourself and your business with your

purpose yeah you was like that to

jameelah so you know the feeling so when

you unite your business with your

purpose and they come together guys it's

fire

it creates fire and it becomes you it

becomes an extension of you so I'm not

just doing business I'm doing my purpose

so I'm passionate about my purpose I'm

on fire about my purpose right Tracy

exactly so when you become passionate

about something there is no business and

personal and it's separate and you draw

a line in between you're doing your

passion so it gets to the point where if

you're going to be a friend of mine if

you're going to relate to me that you

have to accept all of me because this

business and I do basically what I'm

doing guys is my passion and my passion

pays me that's all it is so if you're a

friend of mine and if you're connected

with me you have to accept them if you

don't accept that well going up the road

that's not my problem I bless you would

love and send you on your way

but what I'm saying is that worrying

about what other people will think of

you and if you guys have come live with

me I see some people I don't think they

say hello to me say good morning to your

girl okay I would love to say hello to

you um so guys stop worrying about what

other people think of you stop worrying

about that's right Paula it makes a

difference stop worrying about what

other people think of you who on them

poop on them okay if they can't

understand that you have a passion that

you are Purpose Driven poo on them it's

not going to be for everybody dan and I

roll the window down because it's

getting hot in here y'all it's getting

high good morning boo hey kiera girl

good morning honey how are you thank you

for coming in so guess what guess what

right Trista cool on them too bad okay

because you have to shout it out to the

rooftops when you're passionate about

something so you don't need to worry

about your timeline you don't need to

worry about who doesn't like your post

I'm going live today with some Monday

motivation I don't need to worry about

who who doesn't like it okay this is my

purpose I'm gonna speak it out there's

an unfriend button people can disconnect

from me at any time I'm going to be

proud of my business because guess what

if you aren't proud of yourself

and you're not clapping for yourself and

you're not extremely

and what you have to offer guys thanks

Krista who else is going to be

passionate who I was it really Jamila

who else is going to be passionate about

you what you have to offer if you aren't

passionate about what you have to offer

so forget the people who don't support

you don't worry about that okay you're

blaming me when you go live with your

motivation okay trace I'll take the

blame I'll say don't use those hands

because you know how I get but I'm just

saying guys that hey Felicia Callie good

morning honey thank you so much for

coming in live this morning with us so

what I'm saying guys is that if people

can't understand your purpose if they

can't embrace the purpose that your pick

jameelah seriously please stop okay such

a bad influence if people can't

understand your purpose guys and why

you're so excited they can hey chica poo

what's up good morning honey

they can just connect with you they can

just connect with you they don't have to

be connected with you if they don't if

they can't stand you and they can't

stand it you're positive and they can't

say so guys I mean I had someone tell me

before really you are so annoying and I

should put you online right now put your

butt on blast with your headscarf on

exactly Chris be yourself and people

will love you for who you truly are a

hundred percent a men good morning Ryan

thank you so much for coming in on a

beautiful Monday guys so guess what no

self-control

know your purpose and live it get yours

let them sleep on your purpose because

it's not there that's right Tracy you're

just super motivational whoo girl got

some goosebumps from that okay so my

friends and my circle has to understand

that I am just naturally a positive

person sorry okay but I'm allergic to

negativity I'm allergic to I'm bushed

i'ma learn to be s I won't say it but

I'm allergic today y'all I am allergic

to bee s and I love positivity and I

love positive people and I surround

myself around

positively driven people all the time

sorry not sorry

Buju me I should put you live jameelah I

really really should I'm gonna surprise

you so guys that's number two stop

worrying about what people think of you

if you have a message if you have a

business that you're passionate about

stuff like I don't want to step on

anybody's toes you know the people in my

personal timeline oh well

get excited about it if you're

passionate about it share it how are

people going to know that's right Chris

allergic to the BS I'm allergic to

negativity Howard hey Blair good morning

dear thank you so much for coming in on

a beautiful Monday so guess what I'm not

going to be ashamed that I'm stepping on

your toes that's why be unapologetically

you know I'm not doing business I'm

living out my passion it has become me

I'm excited about this I'm passionate

about helping people to fire their boss

I'm passionate about helping women to

live out their dreams using e-commerce

and online business systems I'm

passionate about helping online and

offline businesses to increase their

visibility and influence and traffic and

all those things I'm passionate that's

right

get on your toes and get out of my way I

hear you Trish so anyway that's number

two number three is comparing your

progress to others comparing your

progress to others guys stop it stop

looking at someone else and saying oh my

gosh she has it all and I don't stop

doing that stop doing that because you

will shoot yourself in the foot every

time instead of running you're gonna be

limping they're gonna be living on one

foot guys you're going to be limping

because you keep comparing your progress

to someone else's good morning Blair if

you guys are coming in like me say hello

and feel free to share this out and help

your girl hey Tanisha good morning

lovely thank you so much for joining us

this morning so guys stop comparing your

whether they say stop comparing your

step number five to somebody step number

5,000 I've been doing this for nine what

nine years now that's a long time guys

it's a long time I pretty much know how

to go online and print money because

I've been doing it for a long

time it's a process I'm prepared to do

the work I know how much thank you Blair

thank you so much I appreciate you I'm

prepared to do the work I know what it

takes to get me there I've done this a

host shut your mouth right now Jamil

don't add a 1 on to the nine okay so

guys I've been doing this all this time

so I can do it in my sleep okay

but I don't like to compare myself to

somebody else there are some people that

have it better than I do okay like

Jamila she builds communities and she

helps you with your branding and she

helps you increase your social influence

and all those things her way okay if I

compare myself to her I would look

really small because she's an expert in

these things do you get what I'm saying

market research and all those kinds of

things she's an expert with that so

definitely check her out guys but I'm

not hurt I'm me and she's not me okay

okay I'm getting tongues out but you see

what I'm saying

don't compare yourself to other people

they have things that they're gifted in

and you have things that you're gifted

in and it is a true progress blocker

guys it's a progress that's right Blair

bu it's a progress blocker stop your

insecurities that's right Kris it

creates insecurity boom be quiet don't

don't don't rub it in don't rub it in so

yeah it's a big progress blocker guys

when you do that it's a big progress

blocker where you do that so stop doing

that stop doing it and you know I was

thinking the other day why do we feel

like why do we feel like we have to have

the big house that's paid for why do we

feel like we have to be a two-car family

why do we feel like we have to have kids

why do we feel like everybody it when

the face of Earth has to be married why

do we feel like we have to do these

things why do we feel like we have to be

a size two why do we feel like we have

to have blonde hair or have certain

colors a hair right thanks Tracy I'm so

glad honey why do we feel like we have

to do all that it's because Society it's

because society tells us that that's the

perfect life

right right Jimmy look you don't feel

like any of that well I'm glad you're a

rebel girl but I'm just saying a lot of

us do feel like that we have to have

these things oh my gosh oh my gosh yes

you are Jamila you're definitely you

right Tracy why do we feel as woman like

oh my god my biological clock is ticking

oh my gosh I'm gonna speak it Blair why

do we feel pressured to be married to

have children to live in a big house

with a white picket fence and we're

doing all of these things we feel like

we need to do these things a certain way

because the world Society has put a

certain picture yes of what we need to

do so guess what we feel guys when we

don't have those things if you're 34 or

35 and you don't have a husband and you

don't have a house full of children and

it's just not perfect and you guys

aren't going on family vacations you

feel unaccomplished because you haven't

done it who says that that's for you who

says that that's for you I mean my god

hey sis good morning to you thank you so

much for coming in dang I feel like I'm

lagging behind Thank You Blair who says

that you can't start living now maybe

you're 45 maybe you're 50 maybe you've

not got married maybe your marriage was

terrible and that right one just hasn't

come along with maybe it's time to just

start loving you who says you can't pick

up your luggage and go travel who says

that you can't start that business right

now who says that you can't go to the

movies by yourself who says you can't go

to dinner by yourself who says you can't

light your own candles who says you

can't spoil yourself who says that you

have to fit the traditional box that the

world has created for you who the heck

says you can't be a curvy woman and

still be sexy who says you have to be a

size zero on the beach well the world

says that the world says that that's the

status quo that someone else has set for

you stop thinking that something is

wrong with you

because you don't you're not a cookie

cuts it into what the world has said you

should be exactly exactly it is a

freaking state of mind age is a state of

mind matter of fact when people ask me

how old I am

I often stutter guys because I really

don't keep track I just don't sit around

thinking about my age I just live life

to the fullest in a nail moment

I take you by the horns and I pull it

around and I just enjoy myself every

moment who says who says it has to be a

certain way

the person who should say you should say

you call the shots in your own life

that's right we have to retrain Tracy

what we've been taught oh my god okay I

am good morning good morning yes good

morning Lisa thank you so much for

coming in yes you need it exactly I mean

my god I mean this is like my second

marriage okay my first one was a

freaking epic fail I should have never

gotten married I thought that was the

way to go I thought that was I was

supposed to do then I had a child out of

this marriage I thought I was supposed

to stay I thought I was working out I

was dead wrong sorry that wasn't the

situation for me so I got out of it I

got out of it I didn't and do you know

why I stayed I stayed guys because of

one of the things on this list I was so

worried about what other people were

thinking about me I was a pastor's kid

and Here I am getting divorced poopoo on

them okay those people are not this

society evicted you a long time ago at

42 that's right that's right Shauna

that's right okay the best ones always

after the worst went oh thank you so

much Tracy you rock to you love I

appreciate you so guys come on

like I stayed because I was worried

about what other people thought about me

I was worried about what people would

think I would bring shame on my family

look at me I'm this mother I'm a single

mother I never thought I would be a

single mother my parents were together

for 40 some years I didn't know what

that was and Here I am standing there a

single mom but guess what if I had

stayed guys if I had stayed in that

situation I wouldn't look the way I look

today I'd be on a cane I'd be on a cane

with gray hair is I mean a full head of

gray or full ain't nothing wrong with

gray hair I'm just saying my whole head

would be gray the entire head and my

eyebrows okay and I would have bags

under my eyes I would be tired it would

be serious don't be laughing Jamila

Corbett

I'm inviting you to the broadcast yeah

guys seriously

let's see what you me a lesson

almost into the video y'all since she

got so many jokes she probably can't

even get one liable for us this morning

but I would be great y'all I would

literally be great

there you are

are you frozen jameelah

oh my god she's frozen

are you messing up my bra gasps am I

here oh my gosh you're freezing all over

the place I'm not you're moving your

hands are moving you can't hear me me

yeah see you can't hear me what would

you like to say to these viewers because

you're a woman of so many words so what

would you like to say to these viewers

okay about this topic first of all real

progress lacquers can you hear me and

can you see me okay

yes can y'all see jameelah I how do you

get this jameelah from the bottom of

your screen how do you get this live

viewers thing I don't know him from the

bottom of your sea

oh yeah he quit icon oh okay okay yeah

over but let's start over what we talk

about here somebody we're talking and I

basically get oh no we're not talking

about my 250 kids we're talking about I

gave them three things that I personally

struggle with they have blocked my

progress right so what are some tips you

can give the people right first of all

who are you what do you do and what are

some tips that you could give the people

on you know some things that may be

blocking their progress you know I'm

gonna be a good sport about this week

you're what

profitable personal reign through

learning and collaboration and so when

it comes to I want to touch on some of

the points that you mentioned in your

broadcast about your being about you

blocking your own progress and kind of

the comparison game I think a lot of us

we do that no matter how high you how

high you are or people think you are you

still compare yourself to other people

like well why don't I have this why

can't I do that and so we have to learn

to recognize that insecurity within

ourselves and just accept and appreciate

where we are in the present moment

that's one of the things that I had to

really write overcome and really do

because I see other people and I'm like

man this person isn't as talented as me

this person don't know as much as me so

I think right now I like you what were

you like this it's seemingly seemingly

why are you farther ahead than I am

that's what I think today's day I don't

know what happens in here behind the

scenes you don't know what's going on

and when you under when you when you

peel back the layers of people's lives

you realize that it's really not all

glitz and glamor like the grass looks

greener on the other side because that

person waters our grass how about you

focus on your grass water your grass and

stay exactly Lane right exactly I agree

cuz I do to say I have done the same

thing where I feel like okay I've been

doing this all these years I've earned

it I've owned it but yet this person

just came in the game six months ago and

a getting them coins they getting them

coins and and some very very

unexperienced people do teach others

like really really really early even

sometimes leading people the wrong way

so I have felt some sort of way about

that but I agree with you jameelah is so

important not to compare yourself you

know to somebody else cuz you don't know

the behind the scenes so you just gotta

keep doing what you're doing and

focusing on yourself that's right a

hundred percent amen thank you yes for

coming do you have anything else you

want to say to the people yes we all

have our struggles

even I have I have so I've struggle with

so many things and when I tell people

that I don't think they really believe

it and so you really sit down and have a

conversation with me you understand you

get really deep into what I'm into and

what I'm going through like people don't

really get that because they see you

they very admire you but you don't know

what happens behind the scenes there's

so much struggle and when it goes back

going back to what I said stay in your

lane you think about that in real life

when you're driving a car right you're

driving you have if you don't stay in

your lane you're looking over here

you're looking over here you drift over

here you're gonna hit another car you're

gonna crash the same if you're out of

your lane you're disqualified from the

the meat so disqualified

we have we have to think about that in

terms of life as well there's so many

lessons that we can learn in everyday

life that we can apply it to our

business it's the same thing if you're

not focused ahead in what's of what's in

front of you and you're looking over to

the left you're gonna crash you're gonna

burn you're gonna fill so don't be so

hard on you that's another thing I want

to tell people don't be so hard on

yourself even if you think you're you

should be so much farther ahead you're

right where you're supposed to be at

this very moment

exactly that's right Jamila you better

tell it right where you supposed to be

at this very moment don't look to the

left don't look to the right just stay

focused guys because you can't get

anywhere like she said you're gonna be

disqualified immediately but immediately

cut off okay if you do not focus that's

right

immediately cut damn thank you so much

Jimmy Ella for joining us in your

bathrobe Thanks it's not a background

GHB makes Nellie feel weak | Drugslab - Duration: 11:36.

Like tiny pussy tickles.

Are you going too hard? -I can see how dangerous it is.

Hi, I'm Bastiaan. -And I'm Nellie.

And welcome in... -Our Drugslab.

In this lab we try all kinds of drugs to see what they do with the human body.

Are you curious about a drug, let us know and maybe we'll try it for you.

Gwendelyne did so, Jim Jim, Kyle... -And Impzorz.

They were very curious about GHB.

This is our GHB. It's a transparent, syrupy liquid.

And...

It smells a tiny bit like glue.

The active substance of GHB is gamma-hydroxybutyric acid...

hence the abbreviation GHB.

It gets used a lot as a party drug. It's comparable to an alcohol rush.

And it turns people on.

I find it a bit scary stuff, but I'm also curious about it.

I increasingly see people use it when they go out.

But in the media I also hear that many people get addicted.

It's very addictive. At some point your body can't do without it anymore...

so then you also have to stop very gradually. That's pretty heavy.

People can't have sex or go out without it anymore.

That's why I don't want to do it. I'm afraid I'll get hooked.

Not that I'm addiction-prone, but I'm not ready for it yet, so you can do it.

The belt is on. Temperature, 37.4.

And heart rate, 71. -Nice heart rate.

The dosage depends on your experience, body weight and stomach content.

The maximum strength is 650 mg per ml.

Ours is between 450 and 550 per ml.

GHB often gets sold in a small vial of 5 ml.

The advice is to never take more than 2.5 ml per time.

Because of your body weight and experience you get 2 ml. I'll take it out.

Always mix your GHB with soft drink or water to prevent oesophageal damage.

Yes, it shocked me to learn that GHB is made of sodium hydroxide...

which is caustic soda, and GBL, a cleaning agent.

By means of a chemical process it's converted into GHB.

But I still think: come on, that's crazy.

Here you really see that it's a thick liquid.

There.

One tip before you take it. Drink it slowly, to reduce the risk of passing out.

So don't throw it back in one go. -No.

Now it smells like regular water.

You don't see it anymore. -No.

That's how people get drugged. They put it in your drink.

Let's see if I taste it.

No, I don't taste a thing.

Never combine it with alcohol, as you may pass out or get trouble breathing.

Now I do taste it. You'd definitely taste this in your drink.

Because it's water, maybe not if it's coke. -No, then you wouldn't. Maybe a bit salty.

Now the concentration in your brain of the neurotransmitter GABA is increased.

And GABA inhibits your brain processes.

A low dose affects planning and assessing...

a bit higher dose also affects moving, hearing and seeing.

And a very high dose affects breathing, heart rate and body temperature.

Yes. -It's been 15 minutes.

I can feel it. -Really? What?

I'm shivering a little, I feel a bit cold.

And I feel a happy kind of feeling come over me.

And I'm sweating.

A bit... A bit shivery. -Oh yeah.

You see? I feel that through my whole body.

As if I'm inside a soft cloud with my head.

Your heart rate... Oh, suddenly. It wasn't like that just now.

No, that was very sudden.

Do you know how I feel? -Well?

As if I've just received really good news.

But my body doesn't understand. I'm dizzy right now.

Pretty scary, really. Within just 15 minutes.

Oh, I'm really feeble. Incredibly feeble.

It gets called 'the rape drug'. Because it makes you sleepy and drowsy.

Do you have that too? -Yes, I do feel a bit sluggish.

But relaxed. I could just lie down on my bed.

Shall I try closing my eyes? -Watch out you don't fall.

You're about to fall asleep. That's not good.

If someone falls asleep, keep them awake by shaking or pinching.

If that doesn't work, lay them down on their side.

Yes, I've heard that people have to vomit.

So if you lay them on their side, they don't choke on their own vomit.

Can you tell? -You look very happy, that's all.

Other than that I don't see anything. All normal.

This feels nice.

They say GHB makes you horny.

Right now I'm not particularly horny, but I do like...

I do like the feel of my body.

I do feel... But I'm also nauseous.

I wouldn't have the energy for sex now.

You can just lie on your back. -Starfish.

I think I'd like that. I do have a nice feeling in my lower belly.

Yes? -Like tiny pussy tickles.

What are pussy tickles? -Like a tingling sensation here.

I see you don't have any shame.

You're letting it all out. -Really?

Yes, but it's fun. -Yes, maybe I feel less inhibition.

It's like with alcohol. If you realise you're drunk you start acting normal.

But when we're shooting the breeze, I don't hold anything back.

When I think about it, I'm like:

'Maybe I can better keep quiet.' -Don't worry.

I'm pretty spacey. A bit vague.

I could do with a bit less. -Are you going too hard?

Well, it's like when you're drunk, you sometimes sit on the toilet and think:

'Wow, I'm pretty drunk. I could do with a bit less.'

If someone passes out on GHB he often gets water thrown in his face...

or water poured in his mouth. Don't do that...

because your temperature is lower and lowering it even more can be dangerous.

Your swallowing reflex is weakened, so you can choke if you get water in your mouth.

If you start to doze off or feel drowsy...

the tip is to become active, to undertake something.

Shall we dance? Yes, I think that will be nice.

And off she goes.

That felt nice. And I feel a bit clearer in my head.

And my body feels nice now.

It's been 50 minutes. -No.

Yes, really. Why? -I thought it was much longer.

Yes? How long? -I thought two hours.

Really? That's the perception of time.

GHB takes away your fears. As we just saw from how shamelessly you talk.

We'll test that with this game.

Do you remember it? -Yes, Snappy.

Well, go ahead. -Cool.

Really stick your finger inside. -Yes.

I had a fright. -This is fun.

You did find it scary, didn't you? -Yes, I still experience fear.

Did it hurt? -No.

Then I have another fun test. I'm going to wax you.

No. -Yes.

Oh, this is so nasty.

One, two...

Didn't that hurt? I pulled hard. -Look at all the hair that's gone.

Oh yeah.

It glows a little, but doesn't really hurt. -No?

I'm a bit numbed, that's why I don't feel anything.

I can see it. -Look at this.

I can't imagine that it doesn't hurt. But apparently it didn't.

No, shall I do it to you? -Yes. Oh God.

Three, two, one...

Yes, you do feel it. -Oh, I really...

Oh no, you do feel it.

That dizziness is gone. It's getting less.

But I can see how dangerous it is.

Within 15 minutes I felt great. Just happy.

I won't have a hangover. Also really chill.

And it's physically and mentally very addictive, which I can imagine.

If you get addicted to GHB, you can't stop at once.

At some point your body needs it, so you have to stop gradually.

You're not going to take more. -No, definitely not. This was fine with me.

If you take more, wait at least 1.5 hours and always take half of the first dosage.

GHB works cumulatively, so if you take more and more, it'll go wrong.

Man, I actually used GHB. Pretty heavy.

I wonder how you'll feel tonight and tomorrow.

Me too. -Let's see.

It's the day after GHB, and what I feared would happen did: nothing's bothering me.

When it stopped working I felt great. I don't feel like I used drugs yesterday.

That's nice for once, but dangerous in the long run.

Because for a moment you may think: why would I drink alcohol...

if I can do this as well and not have a hangover the next day?

I believe that's the danger, because in the long term this is very addictive.

Then you can't sleep well without it and can't even live without it anymore.

And I'm still a firm believer in that you have to get happiness out of yourself.

I'd actually never expected I'd do this. Yes, interesting.

If this was useful to you and you enjoyed it, thumbs up.

And don't forget to subscribe. See you next week. Bye.

Integration and the fundamental theorem of calculus | Chapter 8, Essence of calculus - Duration: 20:46.

This guy, Grothendieck, is somewhat of a mathematical idol to me. And I just love this quote, don't

you? Too often in math we just dive into showing that a certain fact is true with long series

of formulas before stepping back and making sure that it feels reasonable, and preferably

obvious, at least on an intuitive level. In this video I want to talk about integrals,

and the thing that I want to become "almost obvious" is that they are an inverse of

derivatives. Here, we'll focus just on one example, which

is kind of dual to the example of a moving car that I talked about in chapter 2 of the

series, introducing derivatives. Then in the next video, we'll see how the

idea generalizes into some other contexts.

Imagine you're sitting in a car, and you can't see out the window; all you see is

the speedometer. At some point, the car starts moving, speeds up, then slows back down to

a stop, all over 8 seconds. The question is, is there a nice way to figure

out how far you've traveled during that time, based only on your view of the speedometer?

Or better yet, find a distance function s(t) that tells you how far you've traveled after

any given amount of time, t, between 0 and 8 seconds.

Let's say you take note of the velocity at each second, and make a plot over time

like this... And maybe you find that a nice function to model your velocity over time,

in meters per second, is v(t) = t(8-t).

You might remember, in chapter 2 of this series, we were looking at the opposite situation,

where you know a distance function, s(t), and you want to figure out a velocity function

from that. I showed how the derivative of your distance

vs. time function gives you a velocity vs. time function, so in our current situation,

where all we know is the velocity function, it should make sense that finding a distance

vs. time function s(t) comes down to asking what function has a derivative t(8-t).

This is often described as finding the anti-derivative of a function.

And indeed, that's what we'll end up doing, and you could even pause and try that right

now. But first, I want to spend the bulk of this video showing how this question is related

to finding an area bounded by velocity graph, because that helps to build an intuition for

a whole class of what are called "integral problems" in math and science.

This question would be much simpler if the car was moving with a constant velocity, right?

In that case, you could just multiply the velocity, in meters per second, by the amount

of time passed, in seconds, and that gives you the number of meters traveled.

Notice that you can visualize that distance as an area, and if visualizing distance as

an area seems weird, I'm right there with you. It's just that on this plot, where

the horizontal direction has units of seconds and the vertical direction has units of meters/second,

units of area very naturally correspond to meters.

But what makes our situation hard is that the velocity not constant, it's incessantly

changing at every instant. It would even be a lot easier if it only ever changed at a

handful of points, maybe staying static for the first second, then suddenly discontinuously

jumping to a constant 7 meters per second for the next second, and so on, with discontinuous

jumps to portions of constant velocity. That might make it very uncomfortable for

the driver, in fact, it's physically impossible, but it would make your calculations a lot

more straightforward. You could compute the distance traveled on

each interval by multiplying the constant velocity on that interval by the change in

time. Then just add them all up. So what we'll do is just approximate our

velocity function as if it was constant on a bunch of different intervals.

Then, as is common in calculus, we'll see how refining that approximation leads us to

something precise.

Here, let's make this more concrete with some numbers. Chop up the time axis between

0 and 8 into many small intervals, each with some little width dt, like 0.25 seconds.

Consider one of these intervals, like the one between t=1, and 1.25.

In reality the car speeds up from 7 m/s to about 8.4 m/s during that time, which you

can find by plugging in t = 1 and 1.25 to the equation for velocity.

We want to approximate the car's motion as if its velocity was constant on this interval.

Again, the reason for doing that is that we don't really know how to handle anything

other than a constant velocity situations. You could choose this constant to be anything

between 7 and 8.4, it doesn't really matter. All that matters is that that our sequence

of approximations, whatever they are, gets better and better as dt gets smaller and smaller.

That treating this car's journey as a bunch of discontinuous jumps in speed between small

portions of constant velocity becomes a less wrong reflection of reality as we decrease

the time between those jumps. So for convenience, let's just approximate

the speed on each interval with whatever the true car's velocity is at the start of the

interval; the height of the graph above the left side, which in this case is 7.

So on this example interval, according to our approximation, the car moves (7 m/s)*(0.25

s). That's 1.75 meters, nicely visualized as the area of this thin rectangle. This is

a little under the real distance traveled, but not by much.

And the same goes for every other interval: The approximated distance is v(t)*dt, it's

just that you plug in a different value of t for each one, giving a different height

for each rectangle.

I'm going to write out an expression for the sum of the areas of all these rectangles

in kind of a funny way. Take this symbol, which looks like a stretched

"S" for sum, then put a 0 at its bottom and an 8 at its top to indicate that we're

ranging over time steps between 0 and 8 seconds. And as I said the amount we're adding up

at each time step is v(t)*dt. Two things are implicit in this notation:

First, the value dt plays two roles: not only is it a factor in each quantity we're adding

up, it also indicates the spacing between each sampled time step. So when you make dt

smaller, even though it decreases the area of each rectangle here, it increases the total

number of rectangles whose areas we're adding up.

And second, the reason we don't use the usual sigma notation to indicate a sum is

that this expression is technically not any particular sum for any particular choice of

dt; it's whatever that sum approaches as dt approaches 0.

As you can see, what that approaches is the area bounded by this curve and the horizontal

axis. Remember, smaller choices of dt indicate closer

approximations for our original question, how far does the car go, right? So this limiting

value for the sum, the area under this curve, gives the precise answer to the question,

in full unapproximated precision. Now tell me that's not surprising. We have

this pretty complicated idea of approximations that can involve adding up a huge number of

very tiny things, and yet the value those approximates approach can be described so

simply, as the area under a curve. This expression is called an "integral"

of v(t), since it brings all of its values together, it integrates them.

Now you could say, "How does this help!?. You've just reframed one hard question,

finding how far the car has traveled, into another equally hard problem, finding the

area between this graph and the horizontal axis?"

And...you'd be right! If the velocity/distance duo was all we cared about, most of this video

with all this area under a curve nonsense would be a waste of time. We could just skip

straight ahead to figuring out an antiderivative. But finding the area between a function's

graph and the horizontal axis is somewhat of a common language for many disparate problems

that can be broken down and approximated as the sum of a large number of small things.

You'll see more next video, but for now I'll just say in the abstract that understanding

how interpret and compute the area under a graph is a very general problem-solving tool.

In fact, the first video of this series already covered the basics of how this works, but

now that we have more of a background with derivatives, we can actually take the idea

to its completion.

For our velocity example, think of this right endpoint as a variable, capital T. So we're

thinking of this integral of the velocity function between 0 and T, the area under this

curve between those two inputs, as a function, where that upper bound is the variable.

That area represents the distance the car has traveled after T seconds, right? So this

is really a distance vs. time function s(T). Now ask yourself: What is the derivative of

that function? On the one hand, a tiny change in distance

over a tiny change in time is velocity; that's what velocity means. But there's another

way to see it purely in terms of this graph and this area, which generalizes better to

other integral problems. A slight nudge of dT to the input causes that

area to increase, some little ds represented by the area of this sliver.

The height of that sliver is the height of the graph at that point, v(T), and its width

is dT. And for small enough dT, we can basically

consider that sliver to be a rectangle. So the area of that sliver, ds, is approximately

equal to v(T)*dT. Because this approximation gets better and

better for smaller dT, the derivative of the area function ds/dT at this point equals v(T),

the value of the velocity function at whatever time we started on.

And that's super general, the derivative of any function giving the area under a graph

like this is equal to the function for the graph itself.

So if our velocity function here is t*(8-t), what should s be? What function of t has a

derivative t*(8-t). This is where we actually have to roll up our sleeves and do some math.

It's easier to see if we expand this out as 8t - t2.

Take each part here one at a time: What function has a derivative 8t? Well, we know that the

derivative of t2 is 2t, so if we just scale that up by 4, we see that the derivative of

4t2 is 8t. And for that second part, what kind of function

might have -t2 as its derivative? Using the power rule again, we know that the derivative

of a cubic term, t3, gives a squared term, 3t2, so if we scale that down by a third,

the derivative of (⅓)t3 is exactly t2, and making that negative we see that -(⅓)t3

has a derivative of -t2. Therefore, the antiderivative of 8t - t2 is

4t2 - (⅓)t3.

But there's a slight issue here: we could add any constant to this function, and its

derivative would still be 8t - t2. The derivative of a constant is always 0.

And if we graph s(t), you can think of this in the sense that moving a graph of a distance

function up and down does nothing to affect its slope above each input.

So there are actually infinitely many different possible antiderivative functions, all of

which look like 4t2 - (⅓)t3 + C for some constant C.

But there is one piece of information we haven't used yet that let's us zero in on which

antiderivative to use: The lower bound on the integral.

This integral must be zero when we drag that right endpoint all the way to the left endpoint,

right? The distance traveled by the car between 0 seconds and 0 seconds is...zero.

So as we found, this area as a function of capital T is an antiderivative for the stuff

inside, and to choose what constant to add, subtract off the value of that antiderivative

function at the lower bound. If you think about it for a moment, that ensures

that the integral from the lower bound to itself will indeed be 0.

As it so happens, when you evaluate the function we have here at t=0, you get zero, so in this

specific case you don't actually need to subtract off anything.

For example, the total distance traveled during the 8 seconds is this expression evaluated

at T=8, which is 85.33, minus 0. But a more typical example would be something

like this integral between 1 and 7. That's the area pictured here, and it represents

the distance traveled between 1 second and 7 seconds.

What you'd do is evaluate the antiderivative we found at the top bound, 7, and subtract

off its value at the bottom bound, 1. Notice, it doesn't matter what antiderivative

we choose here; if for some reason it had a constant added to it, like 5, that constant

would cancel out.

More generally, anytime you want to integrate some function –and remember you think of

as adding up the values f(x)*dx for inputs in a certain range then asking what that sum

approaches as dx approaches 0– the first step is to find an antiderivative, some other

function, "capital F(x)", whose derivative is the thing inside the integral.

Then the integral equals this antiderivative evaluated at the top bound, minus its value

at the bottom bound. This fact is called the "fundamental theorem of calculus".

Here's what's crazy about this fact: The integral, the limiting value for the sum of

all these thin rectangles, takes into account every single input on the continuum from the

lower bound to the upper bound, that's why we use the word "integrate"; it brings

them together. And yet, to actually compute it using the antiderivative, you look at only

two inputs: the top and the bottom. It almost feels like cheating! Finding the

antiderivative implicitly accounts for all the information needed to add up all the values

between the lower bound and upper bound.

There's kind of a lot packed into this whole concept, so let's recap everything that

just happened, shall we? We wanted to figure out how far a car goes

just by looking at the speedometer, and what makes that hard is that the velocity was always

changing. If you approximate it to be constant on multiple

different intervals, you can figure out how far the car goes on each interval just with

multiplication, then add them all up. Adding up those products can be visualized

as the sum of the areas of many thin rectangles like this.

Better and better approximations of the original problem correspond to collections of rectangles

whose aggregate area is closer and closer to being the area under this curve between

the start time and end time, so that area under the curve is the precise distance traveled

for the true, nowhere-constant velocity function. If you think of this area as function, with

a variable right end point, you can deduce that the derivative of that area function

must equal the height of the graph at each point. That's the key! So to find a function

giving this area, you ask what function has v(t) as its derivative.

There are actually infinitely many antiderivatives of a given function, since you can always

just add some constant without affecting the derivative, so you account for that by subtracting

off the value of whatever antiderivative function you choose at the bottom bound.

By the way, one important thing to bring up before leaving is the idea of negative area.

What if our velocity function was negative at some point? Meaning the car is going backwards.

It's still true that the tiny distance traveled ds on a little time interval is about equal

to the velocity times the tiny change in time, it's just that that the number you'd plug

in for velocity would be negative, so that tiny change in distance is negative.

In terms of our thin rectangles, if the rectangle goes below the horizontal axis like this,

its area represents a bit of distance traveled backwards, so if what you want is to find

the distance between the car's start point and end point, you'd want to subtract it.

And this is generally true of integrals: Whenever a graph dips below the horizontal axis, that

area underneath is counted as negative. What you'll commonly hear is that integrals

measure the "signed" area between a graph and the horizontal axis.

Next up I'll bring up more contexts where this idea of an integral and the area under

curves comes up, along with some other intuitions for the fundamental theorem of calculus.

Perhaps you remember, chapter 2 of this series, introducing the derivative was sponsored by

the Art of Problem Solving. So I think there's something elegant to the fact that this video,

which is kind of a dual to that one, was also supported in part by the Art of Problem Solving.

I really can't imagine a better sponsor for the channel, because it's a company

whose books and courses I recommend to people anyway.

They were highly influential to me, when I was a student developing a love for creative

math, so if you're a parent looking to foster your own child's love for the subject, or

if you're a student who wants to see what math has to offer beyond rote school work,

I cannot recommend the Art of Problem Solving enough.

Whether that's their newest development to build the right intuitions in elementary

schools kids, called Beast academy, or their courses on higher level topics and contest

preparation. Going to AoPS.com/3blue1brown, or clicking

the link on the screen, lets them know you came from this channel, which may encourage

them to support future projects like this one.

I consider these videos a success not when they teach people a particular bit of math,

which can only ever be a drop in the ocean, but when they encourage people to go explore

the expanse of math for themselves. And the Art of Problem Solving is among the few great

places to actually do that.

Why some MQA 192 kHz files stop at 20 kHz - Duration: 10:19.

The web is on fire, for MQA supposedly uses upsampled music for a number of albums.

Time to investigate.

One way to check whether a file is upsampled or not is to shoot a spectrum using a technique

called fast fourier transform or FFT.

Any computer can do that, provided you have the right software.

For MQA you do need to be able to record the analogue signal back into the computer at

a higher sample rate, 96 kHz will be sufficient.

Since I have measurement equipment that is able to do that, I used that.

I used Roon to select and play the music, connected the Mytek Brooklyn MQA DAC over

USB to a Mac Mini that I used as endpoint and fed the output of the Mytek

to the Audio Precision 2522 measurement set.

Using Roon, I selected Owner of a Lonely Heart by Yes from the Tidal Master page and played it.

On the display of the DAC both the MQA indicator and 192 kHz was shown.

At 1 minute 30 I started the Audio Precision to take 128 samples

over 40 seconds and calculate the average.

This became visible on the screen: a sharp roll off at 20 kHz.

Would that be the proof that they used a normal 44.1 kHz recording and upsampled it?

Let's check another 192 kHz MQA file, a live Gary Clark Junior recording from 2016.

Here the energy slowly rolls off as you would expect for a 192 kHz recording.

Not so with the Yes recording.

So I compared it to the cd-rip by overlaying a second measurement, taken the same way.

Again - and here to be expected - there was a sharp roll-off that, for the first part,

was identical to the MQA 192 kilohertz version.

At about 23 kHz there is a kind of blurb that might be due to the reconstruction filter

that is different for 44,1 kHz, but I am not sure.

I also have a 96 kHz recording, ripped from the DVD-Audio version, if I remember well.

So let's measure that one too.

And again the same roll-off for the first part.

So the DVD-A was a rip-off too?

OK, my last resort, the SACD.

I don't have an SACD player anymore but I have all my SACD's ripped in Roon.

So I can also play the SACD version through the same setup.

And again there is a sharp roll off above 20 kHz, this time even deeper than the other

three measurements, as you can see in close up here.

Again I expect it to be due to different reconstruction filters, but that is not of great importance now.

The question is what happened.

The 90125 album started off as an album by two ex members of Yes,

since the band had split up in 1981.

They worked on the album at several places and with a growing number of band members

to finally issue the album under the Yes name again.

The album name is the catalogue number it got at Atco Records, which is an Atlantic

Records sub division.

Given the period the album was produced in, it must have been recorded on analogue multitrack.

The first digital Multitrack in the US and Europe was the Sony PCM-3324 that was introduced

in 1982 so the recordings were already on their way.

It is unlikely they redid the album and it is even more unlikely Atco would have payed

for the extra cost of hiring a PCM-3324.

What you might not know is that analogue tape recorders are also limited in bandwidth and

since 20 kHz was seen as the highest frequency people can hear, tape recorders were designed

to do no more than that.

Or sometimes a tat more for commercial reasons.

So we have a multitrack tape that is limited to about 20 kHz.

But it gets even worse…

The 90125 album is filled with the output of early keyboards

like the Synclavier and Fairlight.

I know little about these devices but I do know that, depending on the incarnation and

choices that had to be made, they could be limited to even 5 kHz bandwidth.

Don't forget that it was the beginning of the computer outside of big companies.

The first IBM PC was introduced in 1981 and was only able to display characters on a monochrome

- often green - screen.

The Fairlight costed as much as what I had payed - well, mortgaged - for my house.

Successful musicians bought these for it challenged their creativity.

I once read that all guitar solos on Owner of a Lonely Heart were sampled and played

back notes from one of these machines.

That might play a role in the limited frequency response too, although I don't expect it

causes the sharp drop at 20 K.

When all is recorded on the multitrack recorder, that tape is played back and mixed to a stereo

program on a 2-track recorder.

In this time period that could have been a digital stereo recorder, the first professional

machine, the Sony PCM-1600, was introduced in 1978.

This was a analogue to digital and digital to analogue converter that registered the

bits stored in a video signal on a modified U-Matic video cassette recorder.

One year earlier Sony introduced digital recording to the consumer the same way: the PCM-F1 adapter

that digitises the sound and used a Betamax recorder.

These were also used in studio's since they were far less expensive

than the professional variant

In both cases the master tape would have been a 16 bit 44.1 kHz digital registration

on U-Matic or Betamax.

In those days digital was seen as lossless so it could well be that an analogue copy

of this digital recording was stored as master or second master.

Since there hardly is any equipment left to playback those digital recordings, the analogue

tape might have been the 'original' master for the record company.

Analogue tape recorders are far more durable than U-matic machines, let alone Betamax VCR's.

And even if the multitrack was down mixed to an analogue machine, chances are there

was no information above 20 kHz due to the music passing through an analogue recorder twice.

There might be recordings from that period that go beyond 20 kHz since some use very

high tape speeds, like 76 cm per second - 30 inch per second imperial.

If that is done for both the multitrack and two track machines,

there can be spectrum above 20 kHz.

That would go at the expense of one octave on the low end - Patrons can watch the Patreon

Special I made called "Why analogue recordings have their limits too".

See the link in the notes.

Again it is not likely that this happened with 90125 since recording at double tape

speed would also double the tape cost from probably around $ 100 per 30 minute reel to

15 minutes on the same reel for the multitrack.

Don't forget that the multitrack is the sketchbook to a rock musician and that to

produce the 45 minutes album, they probably have used a great number of reels.

Also keep in mind that the album didn't even start of as a Yes album.

But again, these are all speculations.

Stating that the MQA version of 90125 was upsampled from a CD master is difficult to proof,

as is the opposite.

But there are indications that MQA does want the MQA label to be used for 'fair trade' recordings.

On Tidal many MQA titles are only 44.1 or 48 kHz, the sound improvement here should

come from the time smearing reduction MQA is claiming to offer.

So why should they issue Ed Sheeran DeLuxe at 44.1 kHz and 090125 at 192 kHz?

If 90125 has been recorded fully in analogue it does make sense to use MQA 192 since then

no or limited time smearing is added while digitising.

MQA even claims it can compensate for time smearing that occurred in the analogue tape recorder.
