China Practicing Bombing Runs Towards US Island of Guam - Duration: 2:48.

A report from Defense News Tuesday revealed that the Chinese have been practicing bombing

runs against the island of Guam, a key American territory and military outpost in the Pacific.

The news came as part of a briefing by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford,

who described the escalating threat from the Chinese in Pacific and called the country

a bigger threat than North Korea.

The threat goes far beyond the man-made islands of the South China Sea, which have been a

hotspot of military buildup as of late.

Defense News reported that U.S. military officials said that "China has built up its fleet

of fighters to the extent that it operates a daily, aggressive campaign to contest airspace

over the East China Sea, South China Sea and beyond."

"The (People's Republic of China) is practicing attacks on Guam," officials said, noting

that Chinese H-6K Badger Bombers upgraded with extended-range cruise missiles run "not

infrequent" missions around Guam.

It's not just Guam that China is challenging, either; CNBC reported Chinese bombers routinely

fly in the vicinity of Hawaii.

Dunford told reporters that's just part of why China "is very much the long-term

challenge in the region."

In contrast with North Korea, which Dunford has called "a fight we can win," he worries

"about the way things are going" when it comes to Beijing and its military designs

on the region.

"When we look at the capabilities China is developing, we've got to make sure we

maintain the ability to meet our alliance commitments in the Pacific," Dunford said.

It's not just the United States that's feeling the pinch from China's military

moves, either.

Japan has had to scramble 900 flights this year as China has continually challenged Japan's

air defense identification zone.

In 2013, Beijing issued borders for its own air defense identification zone, which overlapped

with Japan's.

That means Chinese and Japanese military aircraft are coming close to each other on a daily

basis, officials said.

And that could lead to conflict.

The strategy is to "win without fighting" by consolidating gains like the militarized

islands in the South China Sea and normalizing incursions into or near foreign airspace.

In his remarks, Dunford seemed to send a message such tactics wouldn't fly with Washington.

"We view ourselves as a Pacific power," Dunford said.

"There are some who try to create a narrative that we are not in the Pacific to stay,"

he added.

"Our message is that we are a Pacific power.

We intend to stay in the Pacific.

Our future economic prosperity is inextricably linked to our security and political relationships

in the region."

And that's a message China needs to hear.

NEED FOR SPEED PAYBACK: TUTO - COMMENT ACHETER ET AMELIORER RAPIDEMENT SES VOITURES PREFEREES! - Duration: 10:03.

Hey everyone it's Kijooki, very happy to see you for this new video

today i have the pleasure

to reveal my first tutorial on Need for Speed Payback

I focused on the most important things when you start the game

and how you will need to use your credits

how to level up your REP quickly and how to get credits as much as possible

to buy all your dream cars

So at the beginning you use a very nice car and in fact.. no you won't get it in your garage

So you will start from scratch with zero credit, same as for REP

I will give you several tips

it's entirely subjective of course

you can do whatever you want

i hope they will be useful

So when you are the dealership - mini freeze on this Golf GTI

You will discover the price for the different cars

and you will want all of them of course

my credits are very limited on this session so i ll need to be careful

since you will use your credits when you buy the car

but also for customization items

and for performance items to level up your car

so you can attend events

all of this will cost you credits

everything is linked which is very interesting

in the end you'll need to do a lot of things, like i had told you you won't get bored

so when you scroll around the map, pay attention to event rewards

we had a similar system on NFS 2015

but on NFS Payback they added more challenge, especially on this big map

So all focus will be given on all campaign missions

and i strongly recommend you to focus on Street Leagues

which represent a discipline (race, off-road etc)

I started with off-road

but you can start with race if you want

i wont talk about it because i don't want to spoil you

I started with off-road "73" street league"

Boss is Udo Roth, i added full gameplay of the event

so you can enjoy it as well

i wanted to show you details with this video and give you as many tips as possible

since i had the chance to play it i wanted to share this with you

i know you've been waiting

for a very long time

I had several tutos in mind

especially this one when you start the game

Cause at the beginning you can be a bit lost

Even myself when i'm given all the information in game

on the map

with all landmarks

like collectibles

garage, dealerships, tuning shops

we don't know where to go first

On screen you can see Side Bets, i'll talk about it later

when you start an event you can bet on the completion of a challenge

but it's double or nothing

i'll come back later on the topic

So i'm racing with this Subaru WRX

i had chosed to do this off-road race in Liberty Desert

gameplay is very interesting

is still permissive since it's arcade

but you'll need to tune up your car

i'll do another vid on the car tuning

with this new feature "live tuning"

which consists in tuning the car directly in free-roam

and the garage stancing

i had told you in the Subaru vid,

stand has an impact on car physics

here on off-road

you'll need to improve suspension

thanks again EA

and Need for Speed for being able to show this gameplay

in this video you are discovering new things about the game

but i didn't want to include story segments

you have other channels that might propose story segments

i just didn't want to spoil you guys

later in livestream when the game is out i will

so we can discuss about it together

the goal of this vid is to help you when you start from the very beginning

and when you have much information and you don't know what to focus on

so the event is done

and you will have to choose the speedcard

i really like this loot system because it adds some spice

Try to finish 1rst so you earn more REP

i spend a lot of time picking my speed card

which will improve one of your performance item

this time it was for exhaust

you can see you will be able to sell it which is very important,

especially when you need credit

so don't hesitate to sell speedcards if they have bad stats

when you're with one event, i strongly recommend you to continue so you validate quest milestones

Be careful with your expenses

on this gameplay

in the tuning shop, i spend13k

and another 14k

my credit balance is very low

meaning i won't be able to spend on visual customization

Other very important tip

Shipments! It's brand new in NFS Payback

you will be able to loot credits in addition to vanity items and tokens

i'll do another tuto since it's new

loot = hazard

i got underglow

and credits

with those i ll be able to buy either new cars

visual customization or performance parts

Last part: side bets!

it's a new feature in NFS Payback, you'll be able to bet before starting an event

within a time limit

If your car level doesn't match the event level

i strongly advise you NOT to accept the bet

because you risk to loose money

it's the betting system

you either lose or win

i had accepted the side bet because i felt comfy

sometimes i failed on certain types of event

not race, because i'm comfy with it

but runner missions are another deal

with Jesse, sometimes they can be very challenging

no spoil though like i had promised

so let's be careful with side bets

it's double or nothing

you need to be sure to have the right performance level equipped on your car

and of course no fail allowed

you can retry the event still

but you'll still need to earn your credits

your challenge progression is indicated on the right part of the screen

it's like a challenge in a challenge

at the top you have the boost indicator, when you drift, etc

so it's a boost REP for the main mission

but on the right it's the side bet indicator

if you don't accept it it won't appear on HUD

this race is with Grave Yard Shift Street League

with La Catrina boss

on all events

you will be given this side bet possibility

to accept it or not

it's very interesting because it adds more challenge as well

and it's very useful

- and that's why it's in this video -

to get more credits

because we'll want to get maximum of visual customization, performance parts etc

i succeeded in doing the side bet

therefore more credits for me

which is always useful at the beginning

and then the speedcard

that you can sell

so more credits as well

here is my recap on this guide:

how to level up quickly with REP and earn credits

I hope it will useful for you guys, again it's totally subjective

Focus Campaign missions

Save money in tune-up shops,

fast travels because you need to pay to teleport!

Save money on customization especially when you start with cars you won't keep

Side bets like explained before

Don't forget your shipments!

And sell your speedcards

Thanks a lot again for your support on my social media and YouTube

means a lot to me,

i hope this video will be useful for you

Feel free to subscribe and like this video

See you soon!

What Is Attention? How Can We Be Attentive? | J. Krishnamurti - Duration: 9:17.

Hello everyone, my name is Andrew and welcome to the video.

So today I'd like to talk about attention because in my previous videos, I always throw

out there, we got to be attentive, attention.

I kind of sneak it in there several times and our approach to this is usually, "Okay,

I am attentive" or "I'm trying to be attentive" or "How do I be attentive?"

So I want to dive into this a bit deeper in this video.

So what is attention?

And how does one be attentive?

So attention is essentially sensitivity, and sensitivity is essentially, intelligence.

Now attention has nothing to do with desire or will.

It has no relationship with that ,however, when one hears, "Be attentive" then that

desire, that will power, is there and attention is that immediate, human sensory engagement

with "What is" what is actually happening at that particular piece in time.

So attention involves no attendee who is attending and why is that?

Why is attention something where there must be no one who is attending?

Or else we see that whoever it is that is attending, becomes that center in which a

limited action stems from and therefore whenever anything is limited because it is based off

of thought and because it is thought, then that limitation basically narrows the field.

So we are not attending, which is a wholesome aspect, being holy attentive to everything.

Thought can never do that because thought is always limited in its nature.

So Krishnamurti talks about concentration and willpower being the most deadliest things

and why would he say something like that?

Because aren't we always concentrating, focusing on things?

It is our program that we have been taught to do our whole lives, that we are telling

and teaching each other to do.

And hasn't it started in school when we are trying to study or work on an assignment?

And all of a sudden, someone taps you on the shoulder and says, "Hey! hey buddy!" and

we look around and we find who it is and we start to respond and the teacher notices this

and says, "Hey!

Concentrate, focus on your work, so you can get good grades!"

So immediately you're kind of like, "Okay...

I have to concentrate on this assignment."

And therefore, that implies resisting other things around us, limiting our awareness.

And this is the result of desire, which is will, which is the culmination of desire,

the peak.

Now desire, as we talked about before in previous videos is that there's nothing wrong with

desire.

Desire is like a very thin thread.

We desire and then forget about it, but that willpower basically thickens and strengthens

this thread of desire, that is attachment, that is very hard to break through, that conditioning.

So when we are concentrating, when there is willpower involved, we are actually getting

in our own way.

We are resisting, we are attaching to whatever it is we are concentrating on, and therefore,

we are wasting our energy.

Because we are "Distracted."

And Krishnamurti talks about going into this word, distraction, why do we use this word,

distraction?

Because distraction implies something foreign, that is separated from us, that is affecting

us, and therefore, out of this separation, there is this constant battle between, "What

I desire to achieve from concentrating on this battle" and "Some separate foreign

thing that is going on."

And there is no real learning when this battle is going on, because we are so focused on

just this battle, that we are missing all the beauty that is actually going on.

So attention, if you ask, "How do I be attentive?"

To find out what attention is actually "Not."

(Now this is what Krishnamurti talks about as negation) To find out what attention is

"Not" and to really see that with your whole being, your mind, your heart, all your

senses, to really see what attention is "Not" as a fact for ourselves.

That very, being aware, of what attention is "Not" at that time that we are inattentive,

is attention.

Do you see how that works?

If we try a different route and try to pursue what attention "Is," then we are caught

right back into a desire, which is strengthened through willpower.

So I hope everyone had a fun, safe Halloween.

I absolutely didn't do anything.

I just sat on my bed and played Hearthstone a little bit and got a lot of gold.

Hearthstone is a card game, digital card game, but anyways just giving you a little small

update on what I've been doing.

Card games and reading this amazing book right here, but yeah, so thanks again for listening

and as always, stay awesome, and I'll see you all in the next video, bye bye.

Forgotten Realms Lore - Acererak, the Demi Lich | Tomb of Horrors - Duration: 5:35.

Hello everybody Jorphdan here the PH is silent.

I had a great comment on one of my YouTube videos, make a video on Acererak!

He is more than mentioned in the latest campaign "Tomb of Annihilation."

I mean he's on the cover so it's not that big of a spoiler.

I wanted to make a video on the origins and history of the Demi Lich Acererak!

Now I know what you're thinking.

Jorphdan you're mainly a forgotten realms channel, and Acererak is from Oerth right?

Isn't that a greyhawk thing.

Well viewer I'll tell you something, you're not wrong!

But he is an iconic D&D character regardless.

So let's bend the rules I've set for myself and talk about Acererak.

Acererak is actually half demon.

He was the son of a Balor named Tarnhem from the 489th layer of the Abyss.

Tarnhem is roughly 12 feet tall with dark red skin, leathery wings with clawed hands

and feet.

He was summoned by a conjurer who didn't know exactly what he was doing and thus lost

his life when Tarnhem attacked him.

The Demon then took a servant girl of the conjurer and Acererak was the baby.

Acererak's mother survived the birth of her half demon son but was sadly killed 10

years later by a torch-wielding mob.

Acererak never forgave his father for mistreating his mother and eventually learned the demon's

true name which gave him power over his father.

With a demon in tow Acererak began construction of his lair the Tomb of Horrors.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

After the death of his mother Acererak the boy was rescued by an arch lich by the name

of Vecna.

You might remember Vecna from the 5th Edition Dungeons Masters Guide as the Hand and the

Eye of Vecna are magic items in that book.

Vecna was born a human and eventually became a wizard.

Later on becoming a lich and surviving for thousands of years.

Vecna is also a Greyhawk character but these characters have become so popular they bleed

over into Forgotten Realms and other settings.

Acererak wanted to become a lich whilst hanging out with Vecna.

He then plotted his ascension to lichdom.

Now a lich, in general terms, is an undead spellcaster that has achieved immortality

thanks to their phylactery.

They place their soul in the phylactery and if their physical body is ever destroyed they

aren't truly killed because their soul lives on.

In a few weeks the Lich can return to the physical plane.

Think Harry Potter Horcrux but JK Rowling definitely took the idea from older fantasy

like D&D and Lord of the Rings.

After creating a phylactery the process of becoming a lich that I discovered involves

killing someone double your age and half your age.

Creating some kind of potion using their blood.

Drinking that potion under the light of a full moon which then kills you but your soul

will find it's way into the phylactery.

A few days later you come back as a Lich!

It's a very evil act so in most campaign settings become a lich and liches in general

are evil.

Acererak went through this process later in his life and became a Lich.

He then started created the Tomb of Horrors to gather souls.

Because part of being a lich is that you must feed souls to your phylactery to sustain the

magic that preserves your body and your consciousness.

Without souls you'll fall into disrepair and insanity.

So the Tomb of Horrors is created as a way for adventurers to die and power Acererak's

phylactery.

That's the story behind the Tomb of Horrors, really it was created as a test for veteran

players.

It's an unforgiving module with plenty of unforeseeable traps and puzzles with difficult

solutions and character ending consequences.

I haven't run Tomb of Horrors, but I hope to.

I have a small group of friends that want to try it out, just gotta find the time and

I'm sure I'll make some campaign diaries about my experience.

Acererak, in his long life has since transformed into a demi-lich; which is just a more powerful

lich really.

Oftentimes having only their bones left they can appear as a floating skull for example.

There is more information about Acererak if you play Tomb of Annihilation.

Since the module is so new I really don't want to spoil anything in this video.

I'm sure a ton of you guys are playing it right now so that wouldn't be fair.

But if you're a DM and you're curious pick up Tomb of Annihilation and give it a

flip through.

A small city was built near the Tomb of Horrors called Skull City.

This naturally occurred thanks to the hundreds of necromancers that arrived at the Tomb of

Horrors looking for Acererak's renowned knowledge of necromancy.

Idolization of Acererak has inspired the construction of a massive academy over his tomb, called

the Bleak Academy.

It harbors cultists who perform ceremonies to garner the attention and favor of Acererak.

Acererak's current form in the physical world is a jeweled skull which you'll find

in the Tomb of Horrors but really this is a construct created by the demilich.

The real Acererak resides in the Fortress of Conclusion, a stronghold hidden in the

Shadowfell.

Or so 4th edition lore tells us, from the book "Open Grave Secrets of the Undead."

This might be outdated and Acererak may still have a base of operations on the negative

energy plane instead.

That's really the lore behind Acererak.

His phylactery is hid somewhere in another planar dimension.

I suspect Wizards of the coast does that so he can't really die.

Being such an iconic character they want to bring him back.

He makes a special appearance in the novel Ready Player One as an arcade Joust playing

demilich.

I highly recommend that book for anyone interested in geek culture.

I find it interesting how popular Acererak is yet there isn't a Greyhawk or Forgotten

Realms novel about him directly.

You'd think the adventurers of young Acererak would catch the eye of some DnD author.

Most everything I've found was from Tomb of Horrors reprints and a few Dragon Magazine

articles.

And that's where we'll end today.

I hope you enjoyed this look at Acererak.

If you have a favorite DnD villain let me know in the comments below!

Please give a like and share this video with a friend, or any video to a friend who enjoys

DnD Lore!

I'll see you all next Wednesday!

However, clouds will continue to develop and by tomorrow afternoon it will be raining in

the central region.

On Friday, there will be a second bout of rain waiting to fall nationwide.

Seoul will start out the morning at 12 degrees Celsius while Daegu and Busan begin with 10

Korean atheletes gear up for 2018 winter Olympics - Duration: 4:11.

While most of us, spectators to be... can hardly wait until the global games begin in

February... for athletes training to make sure they are in tip-top shape to compete

in Pyeongchang... the hours feel like minutes.

To find out how these Olympians push themselves for last minute fine tuning, Lee Unshin takes

us closer to the gruelling sessions.

(Korean) "We start the day at 6 with a one-hour warm-up.

After lunch, the 3-hour training begins at 2:30.

After that, dinner, and then some alone practice time before bed."

It's about as chilly as it gets for an autumn day, but for these athletes who kick start

the day by running around the tracks,... the cold is nothing but a breath of fresh air.

Kim Nam-jin, Kim Kyung-eun, and Yoon Gi-chan are training to compete at the Pyeongchang

Winter Olympics,...for Freestyle Skiing - Aerials.

Yup, that one.

These daredevils ski off some four-meter jumps that propel them up in the air.

Given the slope, they can be up to 20 meters from the ground when they perform multiple

body flips before landing.

You might think these people are out of their minds,... but Team Korea's hopeful three seem

to live for that thrill.

(Korean) "I had surgery for my arm fracture once.

When I woke up from it, apparently the first thing I said was 'Can I still Ski?'"

(Korean) "Yes, you could fall on face or your back

and it would take a while to recover, but I'm still here aren't I?

It's not for everyone, but I love mastering certain unique techniques, or making just

the right landing."

These athletes have backgrounds in gymnastics and another freestyle category - Mogul.

Although they started aerials relatively late,... they have trained with discipline to make

up for those lost years.

(Korean) "People notice those who improve vastly in

a short period of time.

I want to pave the way for the future Korean aerialists."

And their determination is vivid - as they endure all-day long practices, session after

session.

(Standup) The coach says ski aerialists have a similar

training routine as gymnasts.

So after some warm-ups and strength exercises they head straight for the trampoline.

And we're about to see how they prep themselves for those crazy flips and twists in the air.

Over and over,... they go through the routines to perfect them, while learning to work with

gravity.

(Korean) "I wasn't able to get close to the Olympics

when I was a gymnast, but as aerialist, I secured my ticket to the big games.

I'm elated.

To compete at the Olympics, to represent Korea,...

It's a dream for any athlete."

Freestyle skiing isn't the only sport at the games creating a buzz.

Korea's men's Ice Hockey team was promoted to the World Championship by claiming second

place at the International Ice Hockey Federation Division 1 back in April.

It was a first for the nation to have earned promotion to the top tier.

And helping Team Korea to victory are brothers Kim Ki-seong and Kim Sang-wook.

(Korean) "I love the chemistry I have with my brother.

Without exchanging signs, I just know he's there and I can make a pass."

With warm-up matches to prepare for Pyeongchang awaiting them later this month,

there's no time to waste.

(Korean) "After breakfast we come straight here to

do some weights and movement training.

And then some time on the ice for two hours starting at noon."

For that, they cover themselves with pads, guards and protectors and strategize with

teammates like a warrior gearing up for battle.

(Standup) "You can't take your eyes off the game for

a second.

It's fast, packed with action, it's also one of the most violent team sports around, which

means even the practice sessions could involve a lot of bruises."

But that's why it's one of the crowd's favorite sports,

and these players are just getting started.

(Korean) "We're giving it all at the practice every

day.

I hope through the Pyeongchang games, more Koreans will also get to see the beauty of

this sport."

"It won't be easy competing at the Olympics, but if we do well in our first game, I think

we will be able to get what we've worked for."

7 Guys KYLIE JENNER Has Dated! - Duration: 4:41.

Guys Kylie Jenner Has Dated

7.

Cody Simpson- The two dated for six months back from 2011 to 2012 and their hot and steamy

romance was a subject of the paparazzi.

During their short romance, fans gave the pair the nickname Kody.

Although the two never went public with their relationship, it was evident to see how in

love and happy they were when photos of the pair hugging and kissing surfaced in the media.

However, the happiness didn't last long and the pair unexpectedly split.

It wasn't until 2014 that Simpson finally opened up about his relationship with Kylie

when he guest starred on Ross Matthews show, "Hello Ross."

While the singer didn't reveal the exact cause of the breakup, he did hint that the

romance fizzled out because of the letter "K."

6.

Jaden Smith- Rumors Kylie and Jaden started swirling around Hollywood in early March and

the two dated for a couple of months back in 2013.

Their romance was quickly documented by the tabloids, and even the two never addressed

their relationship, it became evident that they were dating when they were spotted walking

out of a movie theater holding hands.

The lovebirds finally confirmed their relationship when Kylie appeared in Jaden's music video

"Blue Ocean."

Jaden even attended Kim and Kanye's grand wedding.

The couple was on and off for a year before finally breaking up for good in 2014.

While neither of them cited a particular cause for the breakup, many rumors contributed to

the split which includes jealousy, cheating and apparently Will and Jada urging Jaden

to leave Kylie in fear that Kylie was using him for fame.

5.

Miles Richie- The duo made headlines after Kylie, and Lionel Richie's son Miles were

caught on video hanging out at a recording studio.

In a video obtained by the press, Kylie is clearly seen illegally tattooing a male who

was reportedly Miles.

Kylie was only 16 years old at the time of the incident, and it was rumored that she

was tattooing her initials on his arm.

Even though many reports stated her and Miles were just pals, friends don't tattoo each

other's names on their bodies.

And they also don't make out in public.

Nevertheless, the pair didn't last long as they only dated for two months back July

2014 before calling it quits later that year in September.

4.

Justin Bieber- Singer Justin Bieber has been a close friend of the Kardashian family for

years, and he is especially close with Kendall and Kylie.

Their close friendship sparked rumors of a possible romance between him and the reality

star.

However, two are quick to shut it down stating that their friendship is similar to a brother

and sister type.

But fans were trying to uncover if this was genuine or if they were trying to hush up

the media.

In fact, Kylie's and Justin's close friendship even made Justin's ex Selena Gomez jealous

that she went as far to delete the photos of her and the Jenner sisters together at

Coachella.

3.

A$AP Rocky- Nonstop rumors of a hushed romance started circulating in late November 2015

after Kylie was seen with rapper A$AP Rocky.

They were leaving a club and paparazzi followed them home.

It left many of us wondering what happened behind closed doors but the rumors were addressed

as the two claimed they were just friends.

At the time, Kylie was flying solo, with no Tyga in sight so fans couldn't help but

think if there was something else going on.

The two partied a Hyde nightclub on the Sunset Strip in WeHo before heading leaving at 2

a.m.

2.

PartyNextDoor- Tabloids and the media searched for answers as an alleged romance was happening

with the reality star and rapper PartyNextDoor in early 2016.

During this time, Kylie and Tyga briefly split a few months ago, and many fans wondered if

she had a new boy toy.

For months, the two were spotted hanging out together and were captured bowling and even

attending Drake's house party together.

Even though Kylie and PartyNextDoor tried to keep their relationship quiet, they confirmed

their relationship when Kylie appeared in his new music video, "Come and See Me."

In the video, the rapper and Kylie share a passionate kiss in the rain.

However, this new found love didn't last long, and they went their separate ways after

being together for two months.

1.

Tyga- The two first met back when Kylie was fourteen, but they didn't get romantically

involved until she was 17 years old.

Relationship rumors first circulated back in September 2014, and at first, both of them

denied that they were dating especially since their age gap and Kylie being under 18 years

old was frowned upon.

Eventually, the two couldn't evade the media after they were spotted hanging out frequently

and Tyga was even spotted with Kylie's name on his inner arm.

Since their relationship has been public, the two have encountered some issues.

Which includes allegations of cheating, rumors of a possible engagement and even breaking

up a few times before getting back together.

Even though Tyga is Kylie's main squeeze, for now, we'll see if that statement sticks

a few years down the road.

(English) "We are certainly very, very grateful for

NATO's strong support in the face of these provocations, there has been a number of statements

coming out of NATO against these provocations and we need that support from the international

community."

(English) "It's a big challenge for the Republic of

Korea being so close, but it is also a challenge for the rest of the world, because North Korea

is now developing more longer range missiles."

The duo reportedly discussed other global threats as well, such as terrorism and cybersecurity.

Rival political parties show mixed reaction to President Moon Jae-in's policy speech - Duration: 2:31.

The country's political parties quickly shared their assessments of the President's message.

As usual, reactions were mixed.

The ruling party pointed out he is trying to work with parliament,... while the opposition

criticized his goals and approach as unrealistic.

Kim Min-ji zooms in on the contrasting responses.

The ruling Democratic Party of Korea praised President Moon's policy address to the National

Assembly,... saying it shows his willingness to cooperate and that he respects the parliament.

The party said that through the government's income-led growth policies... the country

will be able to overcome low growth and polarization.

"We now have to show that we are responsible and productive as a legislature.

We must not focus on political attacks,... but rather put our heads together and think

only of the people's livelihoods and security.

So many bills are pending."

But the main opposition Liberty Korea Party called the president's speech unrealistic,...

and questioned whether the government's policies would be able to take care of economic or

security issues.

It also claimed the government is not thinking about the country's financial stability down

the road.

"The government's minimum wage hike and cutting of working hours will bring disaster to small

companies and the self-employed,... and take away existing jobs.

Can we really say this is for the people?

The Moon administration needs to acknowledge the current dire economic and security situation

and change the way it manages state affairs."

The center-left People's Party said that the president must not think he has all the answers

-- stressing the need to listen to the voices of the opposition.

"The government cannot urge parliament to cooperate using pressure,... but rather should

share ideas and yield some ground when needed."

The minor conservative Bareun Party said that the president's speech didn't really show

any thought about security, growth or unity,... adding that it will closely scrutinize the

government's budget bill so that it can solve pending issues.

The progressive Justice Party agreed with the direction of the overall budget proposal,...

but called for a revamp of the tax system,... as a hike in taxes on the wealthy and big

corporations, alone, won't be able to finance the government's plans.

(Stup) "The ball is now in the parliament's court...

with the deadline to pass the budget bill on December second.

Tense debates are likely in store during deliberations over the next month,... as rival parties wrangle

over the specifics of where and how much money should be allocated.

Pres. Moon reiterates need for 'people-centered' economy - Duration: 2:44.

The president's speech also placed great emphasis on the economy.

The standout accomplishments thus far, the obstacles standing in the way, as well as

HOW to not only make it more dynamic but fair.

Hwang Hojun fills us in.

President Moon hinted that the government will play a bigger role... to ensure the transformation

of Korea... into a more democratic and just society.

(IMF ) He started off his address... by reflecting

on the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis.

Although the nation has recovered from that difficult episode,...

President Moon said the shadow of the crisis still haunts the Korean people and the economy

today,... pointing to low growth, high unemployment and long working hours.

( / ) The President did give credit to the conglomerates,

or chaebols, which he said have enabled the nation to achieve astonishing economic development...

that no other country has witnessed since the end of World War Two.

But with stagnating growth and the difficulties people face today,... he called the Chaebol-centered

model outdated, saying the government needs to reassess how the nation's wealth is distributed...

and pave the way for his administration's "people-centered economy."

( / ) The President said it's more than just a slogan,

reiterating the concept's three key pillars... of income-driven growth, innovative growth,

and fairness.

He also emphasized that Seoul is not alone in pursuing an economic makeover.

(KOREAN) "The easing of socio-economic polarization,

inclusive growth and people-centered economics have been the key topics at the G20 Summit,

the IMF, the OECD and the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Notably, the theme at the UN General Assembly was 'Focusing on People.'"

( G20 , IMF, OECD, . ' ' .)

And the budget proposed by the government for next year will likely reflect those efforts.

According to the President, the spending proposed totals 429 trillion won,... which is about

385 billion U.S. dollars,... a 7-point-1 percent rise over the current year, and the highest

annual increase since the global financial crisis.

He said the budget was laid out after intensive restructuring of nonessential items, and will

mainly focus on creating more jobs, increasing household income, cultivating innovative growth,

and improving public safety and security.

President Moon added... that part of the spending plan was formulated through the participation

of ordinary citizens who took part in a public survey of around 1,000 people to identify

useful projects.

Six projects were selected, including safe rental housing for women and infrastructure

to allow people to work from home.

President Moon said he will increase public participation in the formulation of future

budgets as well.

2017 BIXPO kicks off on Wednesday in Gwangju - Duration: 2:25.

Top global electric power companies are in Gwangju to attend a major internatioal expo.

The big names in the field will put their heads together to exchange ideas and discuss

the future of energy industry.

Kim Mok-yeon takes us to the city of lights for the 2017 BIXPO.

The 2017 Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology kicked off on

Wednesday in the southwestern city of Gwangju.

Hundreds of energy experts from some 270 domestic and foreign companies are participating in

the three day expo, which is being held under the theme "Connect Ideas, Meet the 4th Revolution".

Korea Energy Power Corporation, the host of the event, says that it hopes to offer access

to the latest trends in the energy industry and also create new business and job opportunities.

(KOREAN) "We want to promote Korea's outstanding energy

industry and create a venue for global businesses to network with each other.

By doing this, we hope to pave the way for local energy companies to advance in the global

market."

This year's event, the third of its kind, seeks to meet the needs of the fast-changing

electric power industry through a range of programs such as the New Technology Exhibition,

the International Conference and the International Invention Fair.

The programs don't just look at energy alone, but also link energy to broader issues such

as sustainable development and climate change, with displays featuring solar panels and smart

city devices.

(ENGLISH) "We know that there are four different things

that need to be done to stop climate change.

One is to carbonize electricity, another is to ensure electrification of things like transport,

another is to reduce waste and the fourth one is to increase carbon sinks.

And within this expo, there are potential contributions to all four of these things."

[STAND UP] Aside from lectures and exhibitions for industry

professionals, there's plenty for normal visitors to enjoy and learn about.

Smart home devices, VR and AR experience centers, drones and even the latest robot technologies

are on display for visitors to experience.

The exposition will also hold cultural events including a performance by the New Seoul Philharmonic

orchestra, K-Pop performances and traditional music concerts throughout its three day run.
