Why Do Some Animals Get Gigantic? - Duration: 3:10.

Hi, this is Kate from MinuteEarth.

Animals come in all different sizes, but usually, over evolutionary time, each type of animal

stays roughly the same size.

Every once in awhile, though, something crazy happens that allows an animal to get truly

gigantic.

Take insects and other arthropods, which have tiny bodies in part because they breathe by

sponging up air through their exoskeletons, and the available oxygen can only diffuse

so far before getting used up - if they had bigger bodies, oxygen wouldn't reach far

enough inside.

But about 300 million years ago, Earth's atmospheric oxygen levels spiked.

With more oxygen in the air, arthropods' bodies could grow way bigger, leading to mega-bugs

like a dragonfly the size of an eagle and a millepede the size of a two-person kayak.

Dinosaurs, on the other hand, got pretty darned big without any outside help – but at some

point they hit a limit due to the so-called square cube law: body strength is based on

the cross-sectional area of bones and muscles, but weight is based on volume.

And just like doubling the height of a cube causes its cross-sectional area to get four

times larger but its volume to get eight times larger, when an animal gets bigger, it does

get stronger but it gets waaaay heavier.

Fossil evidence suggests that dinos were nearing the size at which they could no longer lug

around their own bodies when they stumbled upon an evolutionary breakthrough: a system

of air pockets and air sacs throughout their skeletons that allowed them to get bigger

without getting heavier - and have incredibly long - but light - necks, which granted them

access to a huge bounty of leaves.

Eventually, though, a group of land animals got around the square-cube problem altogether

by climbing back into the water, which buoyed their weight.

And since they took their lungs with them into the water, they could breathe oxygen-rich

air, rather than being stuck with oxygen-poor water, allowing these mammals to grow almost

twice as big as the biggest fish.

But these giant creatures just didn't have enough food to get any giant-er than that.

Then, a few million years ago, changing ocean currents brought tons of nutrients up from

the depths, which fueled huge, localized phytoplankton blooms, which in turn attracted enormous concentrations

of scrumptious zooplankton.

With this new krillion calorie diet, together with their air-breathing lungs and water-supported

bodies, blue whales quickly tripled in size to become not just gigantic but truly the

largest animals to have ever lived.

And THAT is certainly something to spout about.

Hi this is David.

I wrote this video because my kids kept asking me questions about why some animals get so

big.

To help foster their curiosity about the world, their Nana got them subscriptions to KiwiCo,

which sends them a box of hands-on science, art, and math projects called a KiwiCrate

every month.

I was super-excited when KiwiCo offered to sponsor this video because we love the crates

The County Seat Opioid epidemic in Utah - Duration: 28:51.

Hello everybody welcome to The County Seat

I'm your host Chad Booth. Today we are going

to have a lengthy discussion for the entire half

hour on a single topic and it is the opioid

problem in Utah. It's been in the headlines a lot

but it seems likes on a daily basis you start to

see opioids connected to just about every

problem that we are having and it is definitely

part of the Rio Grande issue its part of rising

crime rates its part of a continued mental illness

it programming in jails across the counties and

it's all around a source that is now being

attributed in large part to prescription pain

medications as to why it has exploded. Joining

us now for our conversation today is of course

the Speaker of the Utah State Legislature, Greg

Hughes thank you Mr. Speaker for joining us.

Brian Besser who is the district agent in charge

for the DEA drug enforcement agency here in

Utah thank you for taking time to join us and

Commissioner Bill Lee from Utah County. They

Besser I am going to start with you and just try

to get a scope of how pervasive opioids are

obviously they sent in the big guns you have

been sent to Utah been here for a year?

About a year and half or so.

Tell me what the story is and how woven into

the fabric our society this has become.

It's a great question and it's a question I try to

paint in the context of at least my personal

experience I have been doing drug enforcement

for about 26 years and to be honest with you I

have never seen anything like it. I remember

working worth the meth amphetamine scourge

years ago in the early 90's that swept across the

United States and we watched that proliferate

even in a smaller households in the east coast I

was stationed in New York at the time and the

meth amphetamine scourge again it took us by

storm and everyone was taken back by that

because you had a drug that could be made at

home to some degree completely different then

what we are dealing with now. Now we have

this opioid crisis that is literally burgeoning

across the United States last year 2016 we lost

64,000 individuals in this country to drug

related overdose deaths. I try to paint that in

an appropriate context you could literally take

Lavelle Edwards stadium on Brigham Young

Campus fill that completely full, every single

seat on game day and wipe that off the face of

the map. That is 64,000 people. That is how

many people we lost last year this year's

numbers do not look any better. So we are

losing a lot of people to drug related overdose

the majority of those deaths are opioid and

heroin related.

has not been following to make the connection

between opioids and heroin I know the

billboards along the freeway are trying to

educate us that one is the same as the other

how are we getting a growing heroin problem

and an opioid problem what is the linkage

there?

That's a great question. Opioids are a synthetic

drug and Opiate with a "te" is more of a natural

drug we make heroin and morphine out of

opiates. Opioids are manmade they are

synthetic. So our synthetic opioids that we are

seeing now especially our pharmaceuticals like

Oxycodone, OxyContin, Hydrocodone, etc.

those are extremely powerful they have a very

highly addictive nature very highly addictive

properties to them and when individuals either

inadvertently or sometimes accidentally get

addicted to these drugs they can end up

suffering with addiction 80% of those

individuals now are seguing to street heroin its

cheaper its more readily available you get the

same type of psychotropic psychoactive affects

as you do with opioids when you are using

heroin. That is what we are seeing, it's really a

sense of supply and demand. If you can no

longer get the opiates or the opioids you end up

transferring heroin because it's on the street

and it's readily available but it is very deadly

and like we said it's the same dead that you

suffer from with opioids or heroin.

the rising element of mental illness and

homelessness and we will do that this as our

first topic when we come back here on The

County Seat.

Welcome back to The County Seat we are

talking today about opioids I want to bring my

attention from the drug and the addiction itself

to the manifestations of it which most arguable

or most people are aware has been

concentrated about the growing number of

homeless problems in the Rio Grande area of

Salt Lake City. Enough so that Speaker Hughes

adopted this a mission. You have gone a little

further than most people thought you decided

in order to solve the problem you needed to

work there tell me what has been going on?

Chad, the state legislature a number of years

ago realized that this growing open air drug

trafficking that was going on in Salt Lake City

and around the Rio Grande area and the

homeless services that were there that was out

of control to a point where it was pretty hard to

see a city or its police department all by itself

deal with the carnage with the crime with the

eco system of crime and the problems that

were there. So we began engaging as a state

and I describe it as we were helping with the

future construction in the resource centers. We

were putting police officers in our Midvale

family center to help keep a calming effect as

we kept that facility open longer. But we were

finding is in the areas that we were as a state

providing more appropriations things were

getting worse we were told that year over year

things were worse than they had ever been.

And now that is hard to hear as a state law

maker because when you put funds finite funds

towards an effort there are a lot of things that

you walk away from and a lot of my colleagues

are not from Salt Lake City or Salt Lake County

but they show the leadership that we were

going to come together and try to fix a problem

that we thought was larger than one city or one

county and it was a state. My disappointment

and even my regret that after all we had done

things were continuing to spiral and social

disorder was beyond what I think the average

Utahn would even understand. So I had a

tipping point over the 4th of July holiday we had

some death and violent acts occur it was in the

USA today the UK daily mail the whole world

was watching the urban chaos happening in our

capitol city and I decided on July 5th that I was

going down to that area I was going to have a

storefront office and all my legislative meetings

were going to be held right there in front of and

at the Rio Grande and so we began to have

policy discussions and starting to watch things

we had not seen before and you were seeing in

the Capitol building or in a committee meeting.

So what we did we began to lay the ground

work for what is called Operation Rio Grande.

Operation Rio Grande is looking to restore the

social order break the eco system of crime and

most importantly for those that are vulnerable

we have had wolves amongst the vulnerable for

years down there that was contributing to a

growing epidemic of drug addiction. We

wanted to stem that tide we wanted to get

after and break up that eco system of crime and

bring help to those who needed it. Here is

what I learned in my time down there. 4 out of

the 5 heroin addicts that were looking for their

fix their balloon of heroin out of somebody's

back pack 4 out of 5 began their addiction

through pain medication and opioid

prescriptions.

4 out of 5?

Yes, 4 out of 5. And that was staggering to me

and then I thought wait a minute did they abuse

those drugs did they get outside of that

Doctor's prescription. It turns out Chad that

well within the doctor's prescription you could

find yourself a heroin addict or an addict of

opioids if you can't find them moving on to

heroin within ten days. I was naïve to this. So I

looked at an area where we had 67 million

dollars of state county and city resources

service providers coming down here 67 million

dollars we planned to appropriate and spend

and use in the next 20 months in that area. And

I will tell you the fountain head of that chaos

are opioids where people have become drug

addicted and they are there for a market that is

insatiable.

unsaid in what you just told me is that some of

those people that you think are derelicts and

societal misfits that are living under viaducts

the stereotypical type we have had very easily

could have been an a young rising athlete in

high school football team as little as 6 months

ago?

Absolutely. It's the saddest thing and I was so

naïve to this as I decided to stay down there

and learn peoples stories because there is too

anonymity down there where the criminals can

walk amongst and prey upon people that are in

dire circumstances what I learned is that you do

have athletes who have had a surgery and

found themselves addicted you have people

who have come across an appropriate or what

looked like an appropriate prescription from

their physician that has thrown them into this

addiction and when it becomes too hard to get

that prescription drug that is where the heroin

becomes your next option and we were seeing

it, Chad. People from all walks for life that were

frequenting this area. That Rio Grande Street

was a McDonald's drive through of drug

trafficking and it was unabashed. They did not

care if police officers were there. I was in a suit

they did not care it did not slow anyone down.

And when you saw that as well as the

murdering and the violence that was happening

people that needed help there were invisible

barriers where people were afraid to get to that

area. My issue is this as a policy maker. We

have been talking about the bottom of this cliff

where people are devastated and they have

fallen I want to get above this cliff and I want to

talk about the manufacturers of these opioids.

You have 99% of these drugs that are produced

on the planet being sent to the United States

which only consists of about 5% of the world's

population that stat is staggering when you

think about it.

come back we will talk about what some of the

counties are doing and what we would like to

see at least what Speaker Hughes would like to

see and obviously Agent Besser and we will

cover that when we come back on The County

Seat.

Welcome back to The County Seat we are

talking today about the Utah opioid crisis.

Agent Besser I have been corrected, because

my image is the good kid gone bad he ends up

looking like he lives under a viaduct you are not

seeing this.

Yes, it is completely different. The paradigm

has completely changed. You know people

think of drugs they think of the dirty side of

town. What we are seeing is it is not

necessarily the case anymore. It used to be

drugs come in a baggy what about the drugs

that come in a bottle you cannot divorce the

two. We are literally seeing soccer moms,

clergy, business men, and high school kids,

grade school kids getting hooked on opioids,

quietly at home and not talking about it

because they do not want to deal with the

stigma of shame that may come with that

quietly dying at home. Something I have never

seen before. That is how pervasive this is. That

is the difference now we are no longer dealing

with the seedy side of town. We are dealing

with the home.

Commissioner Lee talk to me for a minute

about what Utah County has done as you have

been a headline maker as far as what is

happening with this and I was very surprised

but gratified when I read the headline.

Yes, in looking at this, this is not something that

is behind the scenes as mentioned here. These

are faces that we see we all know them it's in

our neighborhoods it's in our families it's there

all the time and we cannot just duck away from

this. As elected officials we have taken an

sworn oath to protect and defend and that

means to the citizens of our counties as well as

we look at that in a realistic manner we have to

stand up to some of these issues and say here

we are we are going to make a stand on it is not

something we are just going to hide behind and

say maybe some other day. That is a big point.

want to jump to that quickly. They are saying

out there that opioids are safe and effective

that they treat chronic and non-cancer pain.

They also say that the existence of scientific

evidence that opioids are affective for long term

use. It is a narrative that is not correct and as

elected officials and as we are looking at this it

does not just affect the people we have it

within our sheriff's department where we are

looking at the jails we deal with it on a regular

basis. Our Wasatch mental health issues the

drug and alcohol abuse all of the substance that

we are trying to alleviate they are their

constantly. It affects the county on its bottom

line with the budgeting because we have to go

after and deal with these issues. There are in

our emergency rooms we have every day more

than 1000 people treated in the emergency

rooms for misuse of prescription drugs. Not for

the proper use but misuse of prescription drugs.

These need to be addressed we are not

necessarily going out there and saying we want

to have everybody always feel pain all the time

but it's the misuse and then the leading as it

gets into the drug abuses and the drug

overdoses that are a big concern for us and we

have that standing in the county where we are

directly affected by that and we are leading out

and we are saying we need to pursue legal

actions to turn the tide of this or to at least

address it.

So you are saying that basically you are going to

seek a legal remedy and not wait for the

legislative remedy and that legal remedy is

based not only on harm to individuals within

your county but actual harm to the county and

its resources.

Exactly. Harm to the county and its resources,

we have put millions of dollars to fight against

this and to offset it so yes it is a legal action that

would say that the county is at risk here.

I think this is a very noble thing that Utah

County is undertaken but do you think it will be

enough to turn the edge of conversation?

Utah County alone, no way. It has to be a

whole bunch of counties and states and others

that come into play to make it happen.

Chad, here is what is important. You 12 states

who on their own, not collectively or in

coalition of states, but 12 states that have

stepped forward and said we are going to

litigate with big pharma because you are

producing a product that is turning heroin

addicts out of patients within ten days. So

within 30 to 60 days people can within the

prescription they have been prescribed become

addicted. Dangerously or even fatally addicted.

We want to see states and counties we have

four Republican counties in the state of

Tennessee a good Republic red state like

Tennessee you have got over 30 counties some

of the largest counties in the United States who

have to again at the bottom of the cliff try to

help people who have fallen. Trying to help

with behavioral health and trying to keep the

wolves and the heroin dealers away from them

we are going up to the top of this cliff and we

want there to be an enormity of counties and of

states and even cities that go to the big pharma

and litigate until the point where the

manufactures of these drugs the liability is too

great. We have to change practice we have to

change behavior. That is what I am after there

are settlements and dollars to be retrieved to

reimburse Operation Rio Grande all the costs

that counties and the states have incurred but

until we get this multi prong attack until there is

again an enormity of law suits and

accountability brought upon those who are

bringing these drugs into the market I do not

think you will get the change in behavior.

Let me ask you Bill has there been push back

from what Utah County is setting out to do.

There have been some emails that have started

and I am sure there will be push back for it and

litigation is always counted in dollars but in this

case sometimes it's the people that are more

important for us to be looking at not necessarily

the dollars win loss when it comes to dollars

that is not necessarily why I am involved but

that is how we keep score and in this case it is

trying to say enough is enough when it comes

to this and we need to turn that tide and it is

more important for us to get our people in the

safe places and the marketing done

appropriately.

Would the litigation direct a different

prescribing method or at a court level or a

labeling thing what are you hoping for as a

remedy?

Well stop this false marketing for one and turn

it around so we don't have this kind of

marketing going on that allows for these drugs

to be out there and in a sense they are

dangerous it's a dangerous drug and yet they

are sitting on our shelves. They are sitting in

our closets they are there all the time and it's

almost like sitting on the edge of a line at the

freeway where we are saying well we have all

this right here and we can have a camp right

there and not knowing that the cars are going

past 100 miles an hour and we say we are okay

because we are on this side of the line but what

don't know is that our kids and others can cross

that line so quickly that they are gone in

seconds.

Let's drive this home for victims that cannot

speak for themselves. Right now in America

every 25 minutes a baby is born suffering from

opiate withdrawal every 25 minutes one baby

that is one out of every 200 babies born is born

suffering from some type of opioid withdrawal

that is staggering to me because those are little

individuals, little victims that cannot even speak

for themselves.

Okay, I'm overwhelmed we are going to take a

break and finish this conversation on The

County Seat.

Welcome back to The County Seat our

conversation today has been about the opioid

crisis and some of the innovative things that the

state the Speaker of the House DEA and the

counties are doing. Let's focus on what

counties need to do. Utah County you guys

have said regardless of whoever else comes to

the table we are going to take this on in a legal

battle and it's a big project this is not a county

attorney thing. What do counties need to do?

We are going out to an RFP, which is a request

for a proposal and we have already had multiple

law agencies across the United States from New

York, Texas, California all over the place come

to us and say what do you think about this issue

and so we will throw that out there and find the

best one that fits the needs we have and we

feel comfortable with and we will move forward

and move forward with a good team in place.

Chad, here is the key. We need strength in

numbers there needs to be a multiple front war

where we need Utah County and Salt Lake

County has indicated that they are ready to step

forward in this space. We need the counties in

the state of Utah to join over 30 counties across

this country in saying if there was such a thing

as a tobacco lawsuit that you could use a

product and maybe get empyema or lung

cancer in 20 years of using that product what

about the product where you can become a

heroin addict in ten days or 30 days. The risks

to this public the carnage it has created has to

be brought forward and we have to confront

this as a population but those that have created

these drugs and the carnage that they have

created have to be held accountable and that is

what the counties to have legal standing they

can step forward and believe that and I really

believe that that bottom line unfortunately is

what will be the catalyst to change attitudes

and practices with the pharmaceutical

companies.

So if counties want to get into this dog fight do

they contact Utah County or contact your office

Speaker Hughes?

We are at a conference now of Utah counties

and I am here to engage with our county

leaders and Commissioner Lee is doing the

same thing in terms of his example and Utah

County's example we are here to talk about

coming together and I think the discussion we

are going to have here at this conference with

our other county public servants we are going

to band together certainly the largest counties

in Utah but every county. There is not a county

that is immune from the carnage that has

occurred here so that is what we are going to

do and continue to do.

I think that in the State of Utah we have a

pretty strong self-constitution within ourselves

we need to come forward and we have always

been able to address issues even hard issues,

this is one of those hard issues we need the

people to stand up and start speaking out and

a killer whale wait seven times more than a beluga whale and was a carnivore

it was named after Greek mythological character Kronos he was about 33 feet

long and weighed about 20,000 pounds or 10 tonnes twice the size of a narwhal

and about two-thirds the weight of a sperm whale

the mighty amargasaurus was about 30 to 35 feet long and weighed about five tons

or 10,000 pounds it had a 7-foot long neck and walked on all four legs was

three car lengths long weighed as much as two white rhinoceroses lived a

hundred years could run 31 miles an hour and he was also an herbivore very

awesome looking dinosaur

the mighty Smilodon the cat's name means Sabretooth it was smaller than a modern

lion and liked to ambush prey from tree branches it was a carnivore it was

relative of lions and cheetahs wow this guy was awesome

it was about 5 feet long 3 feet high and weighed about 440 pounds

the bloody Ceratosaurus its name means horned lizard this was a carnivore that

lived during the Jurassic period they were about 6 meters her 20 feet in

length and weighed about 980 kilograms or about 2,000 pounds had a strong jaw

the mighty wooly mammoth weighed about 6 tons and was the size of

an African elephant there they were herbivores so they ate

thirty years its arms are too short to reach its mouth it lived in north

america and river valleys and forests and it could eat about five hundred

pounds of meat with one bite so weighing 16,000 pounds these guys

Khloe Kardashian Goes All Out to Make Tristan Thompson's Thanksgiving Perfect - Duration: 3:59.

Khloe Kardashian Goes All Out to Make Tristan Thompson's Thanksgiving Perfect

Khloe Kardashian may have a new career in event planning.

For the second year in a row, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star spent Thanksgiving in Cleveland with boyfriend Tristan Thompson—and away from her famous family.

Kardashian documented her preparations on Snapchat, which always begins two days before the holiday.

Everythings coming together, Thompson said as he surveyed the desserts.

Hell to the yeah! Naming herself Chef Koko, Kardashian made everything: apple pie, bread, chicken wings, cinnamon buns, cookies, cornbread, doughnuts, gravy, greens, macaroni and cheese, pumpkin pie, stuffing, sweet creamed corn, sweet potato soufflé, and, of course, turkey.

Im exhausted but its worth it [to be] cooking and slaving away in the kitchen.

I love everyones reactions and just making everybody happy with food.

Its so rewarding, she told her followers Thursday.

I hope all you guys are having an amazing Thanksgiving.

I need to kick my feet up for a minute. But, in the end, it was worth it.

I usually host Thanksgiving every year, but my sisters and my mom would bring a few dishes to help me out in the kitchen.

But now being in Cleveland, I have to do everything on my own.

Last year was the first time I did it completely on my own and I was really proud of myself for accomplishing it all.

I did it! And seeing everybody go back for seconds made me even happier! Kardashian wrote on her paid app earlier this week.

It lets you know they really like the food. Thompson thanked Kardashian on Instagram, first by filming a video of the food she prepared for his family and friends, then turning the camera on her to wish her a Happy Thanksgiving..

Previously, Kardashian blogged about the blessings in her life.

Believe me, I know how truly blessed I am, she wrote.

I thank God every day for this life.

Its important to remember your blessings all year long, but Thanksgiving is a good time to take a moment and be appreciative. I am truly grateful for Tristan and all that he has brought into my life! said Kardashian, who has not confirmed or denied reports that shes expecting a baby with the Cavaliers player.

He has been a huge positive influence on me and has given me a new level of happiness and love..

- and I'm sure your family will too.

Sign up at KiwiCo.com/minuteearth, and they'll give you the first month for free - just in

time for the holidays.

November Favorites! ♡ Beauty, Fashion, and Lifestyle! - Duration: 5:34.

hello dear friend it is your good old pal hollyann

the month of November is almost over so you know what that means it is that time

again for me to show you all the stuff that I really really really liked this

month not gonna lie to y'all I still am a little frazzled because when I went to

park to work out this morning when I was walking home there was just smoke pluming

out from what appeared to be my apartment complex and I was like oh my

god my Apartments on fire oh my god my cat but now everything is okay I have no

idea what happened but yeah everything's fine

before I do actually share all my favorites with you, I must say if you're new

to my channel hello welcome don't forget to subscribe because I post new videos

every week and I would love for you to see them all as always don't forget to

give this video a thumbs up share if you enjoy and leave a nice comment in the

comment section down below we're gonna start off with beauty favorites because

um hello I love makeup as you can tell by how poorly I put it on

didn't really try any new products this month because I'm yo girl going through

a hard time right now so I don't got that much money the first thing I used a

lot this month is the saint and sinner palette by Kat Von D freakin love this

palette it is so good for creating not only like natural looks that I can wear

to work and not get yelled at but also like bright hooker looks like all that

sparkle my lid that is from this palette it is the shade rapture and it's from

the sinner side it's very pretty, I love the sparkles the next eyeshadow that we have is the good

old-fashioned Urban Decay electric palette even though this thing is

literally 200 freaking years old I still use this thing a lot even though

urban decay doesn't really blend very well this I can fake they look a

blending by only applying it in my crease and like blending for like

literally 20 minutes and then using like a strong highlighting color to like

blend that together in with it so I can like kind of create the look that it's

blended but I use the hot pink shade in my crease and yeah I know you're not

supposed to use color so that your crease but you know I you come mi culo

because me gusta my next favorite makeup product is this this is the moon dust

palette and I'm holding upside down how professional didn't really use it often when I first got it

for whatever reason probably cuz I was sad and stuff but lately I've just been

really into sparkles because sparkles lighten the mood and distract myself

from the fact about the sunsets at like 4:30 now and I hate that I've been

really into like lining my undereyes with colors from this palette because I

am the gay king of sparkles and it's really pretty I use the shade element

which on me especially on camera looks really similar to the one rapture shade

from the kat von d palette but it's really not and I also use Spectre in my

like middle part but can you even see that oh I don't know I don't know you

can see on camera I'm not the camera my next favourites are going to be fashion

favorites in my first fashion favorite I have is this beautiful yellow sweater

with little ribbons on the sleeves and it's really nice and really more and I

got it from zafual hashtag not sponsored hashtag please subscribe to my

channel so then one day they will sponsor because I generally like their

clothes but yeah this is a really cute it's very warm very big very oversized I

wear it all the time I love it and I just took it off the hanger I'm so sorry

I should make Israel wear this next time he asks me to bring a sweatshirt because

we wear the same size clothes and he's always a dick dick to me when I wear the

sweater sweater thing I look like a super mom like I aint no suburban mom BETCH I

have high sex appeal the next thing I have is my quote off quote fancy denim

shirt from the gap that's actually quite dirty right now because I've worn it

quite a few times and I keep on forgettin to do my laundry because I'm having no

time anyway yes I love this shirt because even though it's a little big

because I got it before I explanted my boobies I like layering over shirts

because it makes me feel a little bit more warm and it makes you look so like

hipster chic cool and more like put together versus just you know wearing

like 27 homeless man coats the next.. does this count as fashion or like

technology I don't even know cuz I'm wearing it so fashion I've been a little

lazy gayboy lately it just like literally glued to my bed

editing videos and watching videos and thinking of videos just you know sitting

around videos the only thing idon't like about this though is the fact that

it like goes like that it's just a small design error I

not like too concerned about it because I doubt it's gonna fall off because the

snaps on pretty good but yeah still me gusta it makes me motivated to move my

carcass more next is mi musica my favorites for the month one thing I've

really been listening to is Tegan and Sara's the cin album because they are

doing the ten year tour thing and I was like oh my god I remember that album

when I was like 13 so I started listening to it and reconnecting with my

fetus self and I love that album I also been listening to this band called

jaws a lot which is like a no-name hipster band but yeah I love that kind

of music yeh trying to think of anything else I

enjoyed for the month because literally I've been doing like nothing but editing

or thinking of ideas or anything like nothing or looking houses I've been

really boring this month and yeah that's about it sorry I'm boring yay thank you

so much for watching if you enjoyed this video don't forget to give it a thumbs

up subscribe to my channel if you aren't subscribed already share this video if

you liked it YAY and leave a nice comment in the comment section I love you so much

and I will see you next time bye

THE SAFEST Railroad Crossing in the USA - Duration: 4:05.

Hello ladies and gentlemen today I'm going to show you guys probably the safest

railroad crossing in the whole United States so I'm at North West 37th

Avenue Northwest 28th Street here in Miami Florida just a few miles from the

Miami International Airport probably like less than a mile, this car

coming I'm going to cross, so yeah so this is Northwest 28th Street here you can see the

railroad signals and here you can see that crossing itself right so the reason

why I say well let me first show you the crossing first we got a safe

tran system signal please we got a Siemens gate mechanism there is a

crossing number contact info we got to safe tran LED lights all around and

the Ebell on top with a bracket to hold it in place and the lights on the

crossing gate are Reco lights okay and then this here is track view south

this here is track view north the one you see on top there that's the metro

rail that goes that way to Miami International Airport but that green

bridge you see over there that's the historic SAL draw bridge that was built

in 1926 so yeah so this is why I say this is the safest or one of these

safest or rolling crossings here as you can see this is a dead end

there's a no trespassing sign there people just come here to dump trash

illegally

see no trespassing or dumping but as we can

see nobody or most people don't follow those rules and the funny thing is that

they have they actually have a pavement marking over there you see on the ground

the rxr know if you guys can make it out it's a dead end like 200 feet that road

ends right there they even have a light over there and then this crossing is

probably the same safe tran signal base

siemens gate mechanism but you see contact info safe tran LED lights all

around this one has an E bell Reco lights and a bracket so I don't know why

they decided to invest all this money in this crossing

American Airlines

so yeah I don't know why they decided to invest all this money in this grade

crossing here when you're not I mean how many cars come through here a day I

think the only people that come through this crossing and people are gonna

illegally dump stuff so oh and by the way they have a green we got green and

yellow but there's no train so so yeah guys yeah you just had the pleasure of

seeing perhaps the safest or one of these safest crossings if anybody knows

how I can access a website I don't know if the NRA has a site or something that

that shows the statistics for accidents that are crossing but yeah I'm guessing

this would rank as probably one of those very high very high or very low in

accidents very high in safety so there you go I'm gonna include a Google Maps

link in the description guys please subscribe or like thank you very much

for viewing over and out

Morphe 39A Palette Tutorial | Makeup Tutorial | AMBER MANCHA - Duration: 10:35.

What's up guys excuse my voice I am so sick, but today we're using the morphe 39a palette to create this warm

Just fiery sultry look if you guys are into everything beauty and everything

Baby make sure that you hit that subscribe button and that notification bell so that you don't miss anything

Maybe just hit that subscribe button because you need a damn minute to yourself. Let's get started

I'm starting off by using the Urban Decay eye potion primer and I forgot how good this was

I'm just putting that all over my eye to get myself really good base, and then I'm going in with the dare to create

39a palette I'm starting off by using the shade define me this has a really pretty warm undertone

and I'm taking that on a

Fluffy brush and putting that into the crease and above the crease and then when I get to the outer lash line I am flicking

It up towards of my hairline

This is going to make sure that everything is just nice and diffused and upturned so I have that nice upturned effect

As we get into this look you'll see that my brushes get smaller and smaller

I am taking the shade vivid

And I'm just putting that deeper into the crease I start by tapping it and then I will blend it out

I really like this technique because it really packs in the pigment and then you can blend it without getting any harsh lines

But without losing the pigment I feel a lot of times when you just start to blend it out

It just all becomes like this

Just globby mass so this is a really nice way to start defining your colors, and I'm really just concentrating that on the outer

Eye, and then I take a smaller brush, and I start concentrating it on the inner eye

And what I'm doing is building a sandwich

so that way it gives this I hey lo look you don't have to do your inner corner as

Deep as I did, but I started to build like this really grungy look

And I really really loved it a lot of people don't like that much color on their inner corner

Next I'm taking the shade forever

And I'm going to pack this on the outer corner into the crease and then blending it upward and outward

This is really going to deepen up that outer edge

Now I'm taking some concealer, and this is the Kat Von D

Lock-it concealer in the shade l7 and I'm just concentrating that on the middle of my eye

And bringing it up a little bit above my crease what I want this to do is lay down a bright base for these

Eye shadows and give it the effect that there's a spotlight on the middle of my eye now

I'm taking the shade snatched, and I put a little bit of

NYX matte setting spray on here

And I have to say that I did not like the way that snatch'd performed over the concealer

So this is not a route that I would suggest going

After I finally laid that base down

I'm just taking my smaller brush and blending out the sides, and then up on the crease it was okay

I was happy with it

I feel like it's mediocre the reason that I put it in here still is I want you to see how I got from point

A to point B

Going back. I would have done it this way first

I'm taking spart on my finger, and I'm going to apply that to the middle of my eyelid I

Did a review on this palette, and I really do honestly think it's a wonderful

palette but some of the

Shimmers I have to say so far have been a little tricky and not as pigmented as they swatch with your fingers

So I've been applying them with my fingers, which is okay because shimmers tend to be a topper anyways

So I'm fine with it

But if that's something that you're having a hard time with or something that you don't particularly like

Then you know maybe I would steer it away from this palette, but the mattes are unbelievable now

I'm taking a brush with no additional product on it and just kind of blending everything out. I did put snatch'd

Which was the first shade that I used back over spark and it gave me the desired effect, so I was very happy now

I'm going into the shade a cat. Eye, and I'm taking a very pointed blending brush and just really putting some detail into that crease

This was even a little stark for me in the beginning, but after I were I really really liked it

I carved out my eyebrow by using this tarte concealer

I don't know it up off the top of my head

But I will put it in the description box down below all the products will be down there

So I'm just kind of cleaning everything up and making it so that my brow can be super defined

I'm blending this out by using a real techniques sponge, and I use a little bit of my finger

And then I go back in with a brush and just kind of soften up that line. It was like super

Carved but after all of my makeup was done. I actually really liked it now

I'm going in with the CIT London black a felt tip eyeliner, and I'm just building a really fat wing

And then I'm prepping my lashes for lashes, and I am going to be using the Koko lashes in the style Stella

These are a little pointy for me

I usually like styles like Bella and things that are a little bit fuller

But these work if you want drama

That's for sure, and then I'm taking my la girl pro conceal in the shade Orange

And I'm just concentrating it on the darkest areas of my eyes

So that I can get rid of these dark bags if you want an under eye

Circle a video how to get rid of them, I will link it in the cards right now

Then I'm taking my Real Techniques sponge

And I'm just blending all of this out over that I'm using the Tarte shape tape concealer

And I am in the shade medium

And I'm actually putting this under my foundation and it gave me more of a natural look

I really really liked doing it this way, and then I'm blending that out with my sponge as well

Now I'm going in with my Make Up For Ever HD stick

Foundation and I am in the shade Y 375

I'm in the shade Y 375 for the liquid foundation which was perfect and I believe I need this just a touch

Darker, it is a little light for my skin tone

I like to be just a little bit more tan so I have to go back and exchange this one

And then I'm blending that out with my morphe 439

I will say about this foundation it blends out like a dream. It gives you this natural. Glowy finish if you have dry skin

Girls look into it be it is

Gor

Jes and it lasts all night, and you don't need a ton of it it really spreads out and it is

Flawless coverage, and it is full coverage. You can make it as full coverage as you want I?

Didn't need a ton of it. It's beautiful

To go in for my contour. I'm taking the same exact foundation, but this is in the shade 505, and I'm taking this bareMinerals

buffer brush and

Again, it just blends out beautifully

It's the perfect contour shade I?

Absolutely can't say enough good things about this foundation if you have dry skin

Then I'm taking this Lisa Frank and glamour dolls bitten and bronzed matte bronzer

This bronzer is a very cool tone, and the look on my face is because it is so pigmented

It is so creamy and I got it from my Ipsy bag

And I have to say with the packaging I was like oh this isn't gonna. Be that good and I was so

impressed

So if you're looking for a good contour shade you guys might want to look into this

Next I'm taking my RC ma powder, and I'm putting that on my Real Techniques sponge and putting that under my eye

Just to give it like a nice soft baked and a little bit of a glow

I have not been baking my eyes that much lately because of the fact that it gets really really

Dry so I put this on and then I take it off almost immediately

Now I don't even I think I was saying Amazonian clay now. I'm taking the Amazonian clay

Blush from Tarte and this is in the shade feisty also another FC bag goodie

And this color is gorgeous and it's matte oh, I absolutely loved it

I'm just concentrating that on the higher points of my cheeks and

Blending it backwards not doing it on the apples of my cheeks

And then I'm taking my urban decay

Bronzer in toasted and a duo fiber brush and just warming up the higher points of my face my forehead and my cheeks

just kind of blending everything out and putting some color back in I

Feel like I need to overcompensate a little bit because that foundation is a little

Then I am filling in my eyebrows with the anastasia brow is in the shade I Bini

And of course I can't be without my highlight, so I'm using the Becca

Champagne pop in collaboration with Jacqueline Hill, and I'm doing the high points of my cheeks, and then I do the tip of my nose

Now going back into the eyes

I'm using the shade define me on a

smaller definer brush and just putting that in the lashline bringing it all the way from the outer corner to the inner corner and

Then I'm going back in with a even smaller definer brush and using the shade vibrant and concentrating that into the lash line

And then I'm taking a brush that has no additional product on it and just kind of blending everything out so that there's no harsh

Lines I really like the underneath of my eye to have a nice blown out effect

Then I'm taking the NYX jumbo pencil and this is in the shade copper

This really gives everything that grungy kind of just a little sickly look

I really really liked it

I don't usually advocate for like really warm eyeliners because it does it makes you look sick, but with this whole thing

It was just oh it was going look at that lace front guys. You can see how it looks like I have hair plugs

L-o-l and then I am putting a mascara on the bottom of my lashes to make sure that those are nice and defined

Now I'm taking the lip liner in the shade tawny and this is from Jordana

And I am just lining my lips by the way

I did highlight my Cupid's bow I forgot to show you guys that not a big deal

And then I'm taking this lipstick shade from wet-and-wild and this is in the shade birthday suit literally a dollar

so

pretty

I think that in the State of Utah we have a

pretty strong self-constitution within ourselves

we need to come forward and we have always

been able to address issues even hard issues,

this is one of those hard issues we need the

people to stand up and start speaking out and

saying enough enough with this thing and

telling their story.

Okay, gentlemen that is the charge and thank

you very much. Thank you for joining us and

remember local government is where your life

happens, good and bad the solutions will be

Should I Be Calling The Police Right Now?! A Lost in Translation Storytime | Kate's Adventures - Duration: 7:01.

My beloved Zoom recorder and trusty memory card have decided not to work today

so this is going to be a very quick video. I've spent all my time trying to get this to work

instead of actually filming so we shall see what happens.

Yes it's working again! Okay here we go, here we go. Okay this is "Lost in Translation". [3 HAND CLAPS]

I've never been amazing at foreign languages.

I did alright at school, but ask me to speak French and I can barely string a sentence together

I seem to have the least amount of luck in Germany

probably because that's somewhere I've visited quite a few times.

There was the time that I almost went to give blood when I was looking for directions in Berlin

and then there was the time that I was singing in church about scissors instead of the Heavenly Host

so I'm not really the best person to speak to when translating what's happened in a foreign language.

But the thing that terrified me the most when I've been in Germany

happened in the North of Germany one day

as we were in a car listening to the radio whilst going through the countryside.

Now German radio is a mixture of songs that I don't recognize because they're maybe not in English

or they're more European, you know, more local songs

and a mixture of stuff that you'd expect to hear on the radio

like the chart music, the stuff that you hear in the UK and the US and other English speaking countries.

So there'd been a few songs that I didn't recognize because they were in German

and then they started playing some English songs and I was like "Oh cool" you know, I know some of these.

So I'm not somebody who says that they're a music mogul

but I do tend to know some of the older songs and I do know some of the inspirations behind certain songs.

So the first song that they played was "I Don't Like Mondays" by the Boomtown Rats

and that song is inspired by a shooting that happened in California.

The next song came on the radio and it was "Knocking On Heaven's Door" by Bob Dylan

which, I don't know if the original influence of the song was a shooting, but certainly in my lifetime

it was used to commemorate the victims of the 1996 Dunblane massacre which happened in Scotland

so I don't know about anybody else but I certainly associate that with gun massacres again.

So there'd been two songs in a row that were about shootings which was quirky

and I think I said to Lilly "That's weird, you know, they've just played two songs about shootings"

and she was like "Hmm, I wouldn't have guessed they were about shootings"

because they're songs that you don't really hear the message of until you actually stop listening to the music

if that makes any sense, I don't think it does. But sometimes you can be listening to a song for years

before you actually realize what the influences were behind it.

Anyways after "Knocking On Heaven's Door" finished,

they started playing "Pumped Up Kicks" by Foster the People, which had been in the charts recently,

but it made my blood run cold when I heard it because "Pumped Up Kicks" sounds like a very cheery song,

but again it's a song about wanting to shoot people. And at that moment I started to panic a little.

I was in the middle of Germany, I didn't know the language. According to Lilly and her family

there wasn't any sort of competition on to figure out the link between these three songs

and the radio DJ had just played three songs about gun massacres in a row

which in the UK would cause me to call the police. And in Germany I had to stop myself

because I thought "Maybe they haven't realised they've played three songs about gun massacres in a row"

maybe it was just a computer system that's managed to randomly pick these songs, I don't know

but it was very much a moment where I thought should I be calling the police?

Can I do that because a radio DJ in the middle of nowhere

has decided to play three songs about gun massacres?

It was one of those moments where I was like "What do I do?", I genuinely didn't know.

We're taught the emergency numbers when I was little, we're taught when it's appropriate to call

but nobody's told you about the more unique situations. Like do you call

when somebody plays three tracks of music that are all about the same theme

and it's a very serious and very concerning theme?

And do you call when somebody's threatened to hurt people in public and you've captured it on your vlog?

V/O - Hi everyone, it's Future Kate here. I've just been editing this vlog

and I've realised that that second scenario I gave you wasn't very well described

and I just wanted to explain the situation a little bit better. What basically happened was I was in an area

where there was a man with a gun who wasn't coping with life very well, he was threatening to hurt people.

When I got there the police were on their way and basically on my vlog I got witness footage

of what had happened and I wasn't sure whether I should have given that to the authorities.

In the end everything was fine, everybody was safe, on with video.

Those are two times where I genuinely thought about calling emergency services and I didn't

and I think I'm maybe going to watch out for situations like this in the future

because those are maybe both situations where I should have called emergency services

and I maybe would have felt very guilty if something had happened.

Anyway that's videos taken rather a dark turn there,

sorry if you thought this was going to be a light-hearted story.

It is a light-hearted story but it has quite a serious message behind it.

Ultimately nothing seemed to happen in Germany that day, as far as I'm aware there were no gun massacres.

We did struggle to get home because there'd been some accidents on the road

but ultimately nothing happened like I was imagining it to happen which is the best thing in the world.

But there we go, have you found yourself in any unusual situations when lost in translation abroad?

I would love to hear about them down below. Or have you heard anything weird on the radio

that made you think twice about the intentions of the person behind the camera?

Not the camera, the microphone in the sense of radio.
