David: Let's begin.

David: In this guided meditation for healing emotional baggage, emotional baggage from

past relationships, and clearing relationship baggage, I'm going to be walking you through

a process of letting go of emotional baggage and clearing relationship baggage.

As we begin, bring your attention to your breathing, and with every breath, just relax

deeper and deeper, letting all of those thoughts of your day come on in and drift on by as

if they were a bird or a cloud in the sky, drifting further and further with every breath,

relaxing more and more with every breath, letting all of that weight you've been carrying

on your shoulders melt away, relaxing, releasing, and letting go, more and more with every breath.

David: And as we go through this journey today, to heal emotional baggage and to clear any

past relationship baggage, I want you to let the power of that subconscious mind take you

wherever you need to go.

And you may follow along with me as we go through this journey, or that wonderful part

inside of your mind that knows what's best for you might take you on a completely different

journey.

Whatever journey you go on today is going to be the right journey for you, so imagine

yourself now in your most perfect place, a place where you are absolutely safe and secure,

a place where you get to allow that wonderful imagination to run wild, to bring up to the

surface of your mind whatever it is that you need to experience, because there's a part

inside of your mind that knows everything that got stuck, where it got stuck, and how

to release it, and we're going to let that part of your mind that knows what's best for

you take us on your journey today.

David: So, imagine yourself in that most perfect place, whether it would be daytime or nighttime,

whether you would be indoors or outdoors, and just let that perfect place develop.

And as we go through this process today, as we go through your journey today, let your

mind create whatever it needs for you.

Let it bring you the most perfect thoughts, and memories, and moments that hold the keys

for your release.

So, imagine, now, that wonderful part inside of your subconscious mind that knows everything

that got stuck, where it got stuck, and how to release it today as an amazing wizard,

and I want you to imagine that wizard, now, taking you on your journey to discover, uncover,

and release all of those times and moments in your life that have been holding the keys

to releasing your emotional baggage today.

David: Now, I want you to imagine that wizard, now, taking you on a journey through space

and time to one specific memory that holds a key to transforming your old emotional baggage

and triggers, to release those old emotions, to process those old emotions in a way that

is best for you now, with the tools and the skills that you have now that you didn't necessarily

have back then.

So, imagine that wizard taking you through space and time, all the way back to one specific

memory.

You don't have to search for it, you don't have to look for it.

That wizard knows exactly the right memory to bring you to.

So, imagine that memory now, and imagine in that memory whether you would be indoors or

outdoors, whether it would be daytime or nighttime, notice who would be around you in that memory,

and how old you would be in that memory.

David: And I want you to begin observing this memory as if you were a third party, and I

want you to observe what that younger self was going through, how they chose to cope

with that experience because they didn't have the tools to process it.

And I want you, now, to imagine, if you were that child's perfect parent, what would you

want them to know now that they didn't know then.

And imagine sitting with that child for a moment, or that younger self for a moment,

and give them the space and the freedom to process whatever emotion it was that got stuck

back then in whatever way they need to.

And all you have to do is give them permission and freedom while you hold space so that they

can experience whatever emotion they need to.

David: They might get angry, they might get sad, they might feel pain or hurt.

Whatever emotion they didn't have the safety or tools to experience back then, I want you

to become that perfect parent, in this moment, here and now, and I want you to give them

that freedom to cry if they need to cry, to yell if they need to yell, whatever it is,

give them the space and the freedom in your mind right here and now to do what they couldn't

back then.

Spending a few moments, and experiencing those emotions coming up and out because the fastest

way through any emotion is right into it.

David: And we can process through any emotion in less than five minutes if we give ourselves

the freedom to go into it instead of running from it, so give that child the next five

minutes to experience that emotion as I guide you through this process.

First, acknowledging that this is an emotion that that child is feeling, and then realize

that it is a valid emotion that you deserve to feel whenever you need to, realizing that

every single emotion can be used like a tool, but we have to know how to use the right tool

for the right job.

Because, if you're feeling sad or angry, you can't pile happy on top of it.

It's simply not going to work, but by giving yourself the freedom to experience the emotion,

whatever you need to, for five minutes, you allow yourself the freedom to process through

it until you're done with it.

David: So, for the next four minutes, now, magnified, amplified, intensified, make every

single one of these emotions that you couldn't feel back then larger than life.

Let that wizard amplify those emotions inside of you, and for the next four minutes just

allow those emotions to overwhelm you, getting bigger and bigger, magnified, amplified, intensified,

exploring those emotions until you reach the bottom.

David: Three minutes.

And for these next three minutes making those emotions even bigger, allowing any of those

emotions to come in in waves.

One wave after another wave, stronger and stronger, and that one emotion that you started

with may transform into another emotion as you get deeper.

And letting those emotions come in wave after wave, one after the other.

David: And for these next two minutes what you may begin to notice is that no matter

how strong you try to make these emotions, as you give yourself the freedom to experience

them, they will continue to slip further and further from you.

Because at the bottom of these emotions, when you are done with the process, what you will

find as we go through this last minute, is that that there will be a natural byproduct

of peace simply by giving yourself the freedom to experience your emotions whenever you need

to.

David: And allowing those final emotions to come to the surface magnified, amplified,

intensified, and just like waves coming in beginning to experience those emotions rolling

away further and further, leaving you with that amazing sense of peace and calm as if

you were sitting on the ocean.

And now, imagine sitting on that ocean with your feet in the sand, experiencing all of

those emotions that you no longer need as colors being carried away by the waves down

to the very depths of the ocean itself.

All of those old emotions that you no longer need, all of that excess baggage that you

no longer need, released from your field, carried away by the ocean all the way to the

very depths of the ocean, and then transformed and returned back to the universe as something

better for you.

David: And experience, now, all of those emotions that you do need being returned to you as

waves of light, filling up every single empty space or place inside, allowing you, in this

moment, to feel whole, full, and complete, the weight of all of that baggage that you've

been holding onto now released so that you can approach every other communication and

every other relationship that you have in your life with a tremendous strength, as you

allow yourself the freedom to learn how to be vulnerable, and how to build a strong foundation

with yourself and with all of those around you.

Because if you continue showing up for yourself authentically and providing ways in your mind

to allow yourself to feel safe enough to bring yourself to another level of authentic vulnerability,

you will continue improving the relationship with yourself and the relationship with those

around you easily and effortlessly by showing up for yourself authentically.

David: So, letting all of those old programs, and thoughts, and beliefs, all that old emotional

baggage release from your field, letting that emotional baggage be carried away by the wind

further and further from you, and bringing back with you every piece and part of powerful

emotional strength magnified, and amplified, and intensified inside of you.

David: And now, bringing your attention back to your breathing, bringing your attention

back to present state, present time.

Letting all of those good feelings integrate now into your mind, into your body, into your

soul.

Letting that wizard begin to create, in the background, all of those positive programs

and beliefs that work better for you.

Bring yourself back to present state, present time, back into this body here and now, and

opening your eyes when you're ready.

Star Wars Hot News: New Star Wars Trilogy Begins Shooting in Scotland This Summer? - Duration: 2:23.

one of the biggest headlines of 2017 was that Disney and Lucasfilm are moving

forward with Star Wars 10 kicking off a brand new trilogy that will be written

and directed by the last Jedi's Rian Johnson while no release date has been

given for this all new chapter in the Star Wars universe Rian Johnson revealed

last month that the franchise sequel is in the early development stages if a new

report is to be believed the first movie in this proposed trilogy will be

shooting in Scotland this year this new report has not been confirmed and it's

possible that the report could be mistaking this movie for star wars 9 but

it clearly states that this will be the first in a new trilogy from Rian Johnson

with shooting starting in argyll this June shoot sites include the rest and be

thankfull a historic pass between Lachlan and Locke all that stands 860

feet tall while it's certainly possible that this report could be accurate it

still seems rather unlikely unless the development process is moving forward at

a record pace this new Star Wars trilogy was first announced in early November

with Rian Johnson stating that there in early development just a few weeks later

it isn't clear if the filmmaker has even started writing a screenplay or a

treatment so news that production may happen in just six short months is

certainly surprising to say the least on the other hand it has been confirmed

that star wars 9 begins filming in summer 2018 the director has also

confirmed that this trilogy is not based on the Knights of the Old Republic video

games which fans have wanted to see play out on a big screen for several years

aside from that report there is nothing else know about the story that will be

told in this new trilogy Lucasfilm rarely comments on rumors like this

report from Daily Record so it remains unclear if they'll confirm or deny this

report

Insurance Coverage: Cochlear Implants vs Hearing Aids ⎮ ASL Stew - Duration: 9:54.

[JE] Hello, I'm Jenna...

[JI] ...and I'm Jill. [JE] This is ASL Stew!

(hand slap) ♪♪♪

[JE] Today we're going to be talking about

hearing aids and cochlear implants related to insurance,

cost, coverage, and whatnot.

Now, the two of us are not insurance people.

We're not experts on this.

Yep, definitely not my thing at all.

More like we're just gonna give you some basic information if you're curious.

Just maybe a little bit of our experience as well

related with insurance and these topics.

[JI] So now the reason that we wanted to discuss this.

A lot of people are actually shocked to find out

that often cochlear implants are covered by insurance.

I would say typically full or most.

However, hearing aids, more than not, are not covered

unless you have really, really fancy insurance.

It's a little bit shocking to people.

So we wanted to discuss some of the possible reasons for this

and I'm curious about your opinion and your experience as well.

[JE] Okay so why are cochlear implants so easily covered compared to hearing aids?

Insurance companies, or people within the medical profession,

often look to cochlear implants as a cure for hearing loss.

So that means it's considered a permanent fix.

Now hearing aids on the other hand are not a cure.

They're seen as....

a....

constant repair...

a temporary fix, because they have to be replaced.

So there's quite a difference in that perspective.

Now of course we know that cochlear implants are not a cure.

It's just a tool.

If you have hearing loss, you're gonna have hearing loss.

That's just part of who you are for the rest of your life.

So a cochlear implant is not going to cure anything.

You can just use it as a helpful tool.

[JI] Now, she mentioned cochlear implants are not a cure.

For some people they might work,

while for others they might not work.

Typically cochlear implants are best for hearing loss

related to the hair cell loss,

or related to something with the cochlea.

Now there are some types of hearing loss that are nerve based

and a cochlear implant will not work for those.

It's just not a perfect solution for everybody.

If you have hearing loss related to nerve damage, cochlear implants won't work.

Now, sometimes they might, but in general they won't

and that option is not available to you and so you're limited.

[JE] If you want to think of this in a visual way,

think of the ear.

Here's your brain and here's your ear.

If you have any loss up to the cochlea,

and that's where the issue is,

a cochlear implant could be a good option for you.

You'd be a potentially good candidate.

So if the problem has anything to do with the cochlea, then you're fine.

Now, however, if your problem is past the cochlea,

up to the brain,

you put the cochlear implant in and you still have the issue.

So if you visualize it in that sense,

it's not able to fix all types of hearing loss.

[JI] Now, if we actually research the costs of

why cochlear implants are covered and hearing aids aren't,

for insurance companies, they consider a cochlear implant to be...

well it doesn't have to be replaced.

Hearing aids you usually have to replace them every few years,

if you can afford it.

But you're suppose to replace them every few years.

Whereas a cochlear implant should last much longer.

So meaning it's more cost effective.

Plus, insurance companies mentioned

that cochlear implants "improve the quality of life"

meaning it's a cost effective solution.

Because there's less intervention or services

for the people who receive the cochlear implant.

So that means less costs for society.

[JE] Now, talking more about cost comparison.

Cochlear implants are very expensive.

Like... I think in total for the surgery plus the processor,

everything in total, it's what $30,000?

[JI] I think it's way above that.

[JE] $60,000.... well it's tens of thousands of dollars.

Whereas hearing aids, maybe $2,000 - $3,000.

It's gonna depend on the quality.

Really it could be anywhere from $200

if you want a really simple in-ear hearing aid.

If you only have a small amount of hearing loss,

it's only a couple hundred dollars.

If you have a more severe hearing loss, it could be

$2,000 - $3,000, $4,000, even up to $5,000

depending on the quality and your need.

But it's never gonna hit $10,000

or way, way above that like a cochlear implant.

But like we mentioned, hearing aids have to be replaced every...

5 - 10, maybe even 15 years, if you take care of them really, really well.

If your hearing loss amount does not change,

you can probably keep them up to 10-15 years.

If your hearing loss changes or you don't take care of them,

or something happens, obviously they'll need to be replaced more often.

[JI] Now, I know we've talked quite a bit,

I just wanted to mention we don't have anything against getting a cochlear implant.

Of course not! If that is a good fit for you and it works, great!

It's just more we're focusing on the issue about

hearing aids not being covered.

Like we mentioned, for some people

a cochlear implant is just not a good fit for them.

So meaning they're options left are hearing aids.

That might be the best option for them.

But, if your insurance won't cover it,

it makes it really hard to be able to afford that.

Sometimes you're stuck in the middle of

I'm not poor enough to get assistance,

but I don't have insurance that will cover it.

So I'm in the middle and I just can't afford it.

Even if it's $2,000 or $3,000 for each hearing aid,

that's still a lot of money.

Especially if you have a family or you have kids or whatnot.

So I think that's the biggest problem right now.

We're feeling both should be covered equally.

[JE] Right, like she mentioned

we're not against anything.

Like I said, all of them are just tools.

I guess I just feel there should be more flexibility in the coverage.

If they provide coverage for one, they should provide coverage for the other.

So... it's kind of the same concept with glasses.

There's a lot of different types of glasses but they're covered in full, regardless.

I mean there's different pricing of course,

depending on the level, but they're covered.

Glasses or contacts, they're both covered.

Even though they're different options, they're still covered.

So why not hearing aids and cochlear implants are the same?

It just doesn't make sense.

I mean, yes there are different costs,

but again, it's all about money unfortunately.

So I think that's kind of the struggle right now.

For myself, I'm not a good candidate.

I don't match getting a cochlear implant

and I know that it's not going to be as efficient for me.

So I've used hearing aids

and they've worked fine.

I'm very satisfied with that. It's a good match for me.

However, insurance does not cover them.

Meaning I have to pay out of my own pocket

or try and find some other support where I can

which is hard to do.

Usually I can only get a minimum quality type of hearing aid.

I can't afford to get a high quality hearing aid.

So, that's where I am in life.

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

It's a challenging experience that I've had so far.

Ever since I was a kid.

[JI] Right, so that is our... comments, our opinions.

Dr. Michael J. Zachek Discusses Sleep Medicine - Duration: 4:25.

Hi, I'm Doctor Mike Zachek, I'm a pulmonologist, critical care specialist, and sleep specialist.

We're going to be talking about some of the problems today that people have with sleep

and one of the most important problems is we're not getting enough sleep.

You know, when people when to bed at ten o'clock at night and they got out of bed at six in

the morning, they got eight hours of sleep and people typically felt very well rested.

We don't do that so much anymore.

Unfortunately in this 24/7 world that we live in, we stay up late, we get up early, we try

and get as much done as possible and we wind up not getting nearly the amount of sleep

that we need.

That can really complicate our lives in a lot of different ways.

We aren't as careful about what we do.

Perhaps we don't concentrate as well as we should.

A lot of times people will experience medical problems simply because they don't get enough

sleep.

What I do in this medicine world with sleep medicine is to find out if people have problems

other than just not getting enough sleep.

One of those is a common problem called obstructive sleep apnea.

Obstructive sleep apnea is simply, I snore and at times I stop breathing or my breathing

interrupts my sleep.

It sort of sounds like this.

(Snoring noises)

And then there's a brief pause, perhaps five or ten seconds and then.

(Snoring noises)

And the process starts over again.

Now, that's of course not normal and when people have sleep apnea it wakes them up very

briefly and the brain wakes you up to breathe.

When we're in the sleep center the typical complaints people have are I'm either too

sleepy or I can't sleep properly.

So too sleepy means to me look for certain medical problems that are associated with

either poor sleep quality making someone not sleep well at night and therefore being sleepy

during the day.

The flip of that is the person that says you know I lay down to try and go to bed and I

can't get to sleep, when I do fall asleep I wake up constantly, I feel like I'm never

rested, I have insomnia.

Now that's a rather important problem because insomnia affects up to 1/3 of people during

our lives.

Well we use things called cognitive behavioral therapies to help people to sleep better on

their own.

You always have it with you because it's in your brain, you've learned how to do these

tricks and it really helps people to sleep better.

When we see people in the sleep center we evaluate them with what we know as polysomnogram

or what would be in lay terms a sleep test.

Now sleep tests are very helpful for ferreting out problems like sleep apnea, finding out

if leg movements are causing sleep disruption, and sometimes evaluating people who are extra

sleepy.

There's a second test we do we call the multiple sleep latency test and it always follows the

night time sleep test and in that multiple sleep latency test or "MSLT" what we're giving

people are opportunities to nap.

What are we measuring?

We actually put a stopwatch on how quickly people fall asleep and we want to know if

they go into dream sleep.

Now often in the sleep center anymore we're doing a lot of home testing.

Home testing of course is less expensive, I tell patients it's not as accurate, it's

sort of like getting an x-ray instead of an MRI, but you get a lot of information from

an x-ray and if you break your leg, let's get the x-ray and put the cast on, we don't

have to fool with the more expensive test.

I would say that between 60-70% of our patients are now receiving home tests and if they prove

that there's a sleep breathing problem, we'll go ahead and issue the home test, we'll see

the patient the next day while the patient is waiting, we'll evaluate the test, I'll

give them the answer and begin therapy right that same day.
