How to cure a bird's cold Natural remedies for canaries and birds with colds and sick.
Hello colleagues and peers, Welcome once again to a new video.
On this occasion like some of you you asked me, I decided to do this
video about the cold or cold in canaries, parakeets, goldfinches or lovebirds. In first
I will explain to you the reasons why occurs, the symptoms of colds in birds,
and finally some home and natural remedies to cure a cold or mild catarrh
of your birds. And without more ... we started!
Colds or catarrh of birds occur mainly for environmental reasons such as
could be sudden changes in temperature, (that is, from heat to cold in
short time or vice versa), by currents of air, (well, because we have the bird's cage
located between two windows or on a balcony or even close to a fan, for example).
It could also occur because of the use wrong of the bathtubs, (you know that
ideally, place the bathtubs in peak hours of heat or during the morning
and always avoid putting the tubs in hours of cold and late at night to
that the bird has time to dry and sleep dry, and thus be able to regulate and maintain better
body temperature). Another cause is the intake of vegetables and fruits that are too cold,
(It is very common that when we are going to put your weekly fruit and vegetable servings
we take them directly from the fridge and we put them in the cage. In this way,
unconsciously we would be committing a error since they do not tolerate food well
cold. Ideally to avoid this kind of problems
would be to remove the fruits or vegetables that we are going to put about 10 or
15 minutes before they are set at room temperature environment and there are no problems.
And the same thing we have to do with water from the drinkers, since you already know what is
very important that they always have fresh water at your disposal to avoid the appearance
of diseases, and to avoid confusion and possible misunderstandings I clarify that when
the breeders say fresh water, we mean to clean water and never to cold water from the fridge
that could be another cause of cold in our birds.
The most common symptoms of the cold are mainly are usually sadness and malaise
bird coupled with a lack of appetite, which in many cases causes the bird to get stuck and not
active, so it stays a long time at the innkeeper without moving. In addition, the bird
cold usually has one more breath agitated and in many cases, depending on
what is affected by the cold or the cold, it can emit soft beeps and have
breathing difficulties and even in the worst case secrete mucus from
his nostrils. And also in most cases the
Cold birds do not usually sing and if they do it they will have some hoarseness so they
we will notice a different song. At first, when we notice that our
canario or parakeet has a cold, the best will isolate it from others to avoid possible
contagios and place it in a cage to be able be closed on all sides except the
front to make it as warm as possible and can properly regulate its temperature
bodily. In my case, I use a contest cage
like this, which are economic cages, that they occupy little space and are easy to transport,
but if in your aviary you have any Special cage, type cage nursing
would be ideal. In addition, the cage must place it in a quiet place, without currents
of air and having a pleasant temperature and constant without temperature changes for
that the bird recovers as soon as possible. Once we have the canary, goldfinch,
parakeet, nymph or agaporni in the right place we can put some of the following remedies
natural or home remedies to help you to improve and recover from the cold.
The first natural remedy to combat the cold would be honey along with some
drops of lemon or orange. For this only you will have to dilute a glass of water
small spoonful of honey and then add a few drops of lemon or a few drops of orange.
You mix everything very well so that it integrates everything perfectly and you can supply it
the cold bird for 3 days in a row changing the remedy daily, you rest
2 or 3 and go back to repeat the same treatment also changing the product daily.
The second natural remedy to combat and at the same time preventing the cold would be garlic,
for this if you opt for this remedy only you will have to add half to the drinker
of a clove of garlic to which previously we will have made some cuts so he can release
all its properties in the water. This treatment like the previous one, you should put it on
for 3 days in a row, you rest 2 and you put another garlic in the drinker
for 3 days until you notice improvement. And if you want every day you can remove the
sprue, add clean water and place a new clove of garlic and so on
until the treatment is finished. Finally, the third natural remedy that
we can use in these cases would be the chamomile. For this we would only have
to add a glass of hot water of these bags that they already sell in any
supermarket ready for use, let stand a few minutes and once it's cool we remove
the bag and we could put it in the drinker of our bird.
During the treatment we can also place near the bird cage some vaporizer
of eucalyptus that will help you breathe better, and of course it is very important that the bird
always have at your disposal a good mixture, appetizing seeds and their ration
your fruits or vegetables together with a good pasta of complete and balanced breeding to which
you can add if you want some kind of multivitamin that will also help the
Recovery of the bird. To end the video and as always
I mean, the best thing in any case would always be go to a bird specialist veterinarian
to analyze and check the bird since in some cases there are diseases that have
common symptoms and can lead to confusion. But how do I know some of you for some
reasons you can not go to a veterinarian, you can use these remedies that are going
to help recover and overcome the cold, and if you can go
to a veterinarian if you want you can use during the first days these remedies
as first aid and if you do not notice improvement go to a veterinarian to have it checked
and can prescribe an adequate medication, since colds can cause problems
chronic respiratory diseases and cause the onset of diseases such as bronchitis
or pneumonia, and even cause death of the bird
