which Lolitas and fashion lovers celebrate and this time it was their WORLD collection
Not only Japanese fashion brands but also international fashion brands
to celebrate their unique styles and this time we have the pleasure
to actually go up to the brands and ask them questions such as...
what they think is "KAWAII"
Japanese Kawaii is a big part of Kawaii culture.
Let's find out what they want to say. And don't forget...

We went to the fashion brand stores!
I can see some unique items here. What's your brand name?
Our brand is called Drug Honey. - What type of brand is it?
It's a fusion of MODE and GOTHIC.
We create our own unique prints.
Where can people find your brand? - We have a store in Harajuku.
What's kawaii in your opinion?
Kawaii things are not just bright and fun.
I think it's also things that are deep and have history.
Those things make me feel the "kawaii" spirit from the bottom of my heart.
That's why our brand doesn't only have general cute things but also antique items
We add things that keep their own history.
I put my efforts into making designs that have a meaningful depth to them.
I think what we all perceive as kawaii is different.
But we should all express that in our fashion and enjoy living your life the way you want to.
Drug Honey is another way to express your personal character.
I am the designer of the brand Listen Flavor that you can find in Harajuku, Takeshita street
My brand has two ways, the kawaii items and the cool style items.
At this event many Lolitas are attending, so I brought kawaii style items with me.

This is a new collaboration product with the character Emily the Strange.
Also the Dangan Ronpa game collaboration tops are very popular.

Things that make me smile are kawaii.
No matter how old you get, there will be things you look at
that will delight the inner girl that is still inside your heart.
You will look at these things, your heart will flutter and you say it's kawaii.
This transcends all ages. Those things are kawaii.

Yes, red. It's a very Chinese color.

This is a brand from China it's called Dream Holic and
we sell Kawaii wigs to the world.
We sell it in China, Japan and the USA and Switzerland.
In a lot of places. - Yes.
What in your opinion is kawaii?
I think it's when people do what they want to do
and show their characters from their own.
And work hard and play hard to success their dream. I think this is kawaii.

I am the organizer of Brilliant Star Decorations, I am called Babi.
I am also the organizer of Brilliant Star Decorations, my name is Kaie.
I had so much fun at your event. - Thank you for coming.
We didn't just call brands, we focused on international gothic and lolita brands
and invited them from all across the world to come to our event.
This was the first of such events.
People from different countries will come up with interesting designs
that we in Japan might not think of. It's inspiring for us too.
There are different concepts in the brands and seeing that was very fun.
What is kawaii in your opinion?
Kawaii is not a theory.
Not a theory?
Yes it's that sensation you get when your heart opens up to something you see.
That's kawaii.
I think it's more about exclamations. You all understand what exclamations are?
Expression of emotions like AAAh and OOOH are called exclamations.
I think that's exactly what kawaii is. They are expressions of your heart.
Something like "surprised"?
Yes they are like when you are surprised. An exclamation mark of the heart.
What is NOT kawaii?
Not kawaii? Humans are quite difficult.
But I think if you wear an item, anything can suit you.
Within the range of fashion, there is no such thing as "not kawaii" items.
Is there anything "not kawaii" in your world?
Because I can see a skull and a strawberry lined up next to each other here.
Mixing cute and creepy items you get "kimo-kawaii" creepy-cute.
So darkness and light are good for new nuances.
Because there are creepy things, cute things will stand out even more.
There are many customers who think skulls are cute.
There are so many types of what people think is "kawaii" in this world.
If there is one person who thinks something is cute,
we would like to cover all shades of kawaii for them in our brand.
What is not cute?
Not kawaii things or attitudes?
I think both exists... but people who lock their personality away are not cute.
That's my personal opinion but, people who show their personalities in all shades
are really cute and kawaii.
If you hide your true self away, that's not cute.
What's not kawaii... saying it in Japanese terms, I think that's people
who have bad manners. People who push others, who cut in line,
those things are not appreciated and definitely not kawaii.
Not kawaii things are generally what's inside and your attitude.
And your behavior.
If you are on bad behavior, you are not kawaii.
I am wearing a dress from your brand Tripple Fortune.
Could you tell me more about the design?
This is the "Yume Kawaii" style.
Kaie designed this, but Kaie said we should definitely have Cathy Cat wear it!
You arranged it yourself but seeing you dressed like this I was really excited.
I am so happy. I was so happy from the moment I wore it.
As a piece of the Tripple Fortune brand, it's actually very short.
I coordinated a short skirt with a big bow and a big collar
And that's how I created an item that still contains our brand philosophy.
I love it. The short sleeves are good in summer and in the cold season
I can wear something underneath like now.
I'll wear it lots!
It's Tripple Fortune's brand goal to make people happy with fashion.
