Youtube daily report Feb 2 2018

- Hi welcome again to Undergrow Tv, we're visiting another Pro Box grow tent... Look at these flowers it's full, in bloom of

- course... It's the final process... Almost ready to cut and they're irrigating with Overdrive... We'll observ everything.

- Nice flowers here...

- In this growing section, we'll teach you how to develop this kind of flowers. We had already visited this garden

- so we know the strains they're growing here. A shared garden... A half from a bank and a half from other bank

- and they're pretty different so

- we'll easily distinguish them. Those really fat buds

- developed in tall sative plants. Other plants are not so tall, but with nice rocks... Different form... More indica plant.

- Super Og Kush by Pyramid Seeds, tremendous indica that will give you serious buds, and

- Mr. Hide Seeds, who's bringing spectacular strains like this Mr. Jack Mass, an excellent strain

- product of crossing Jack Herer with Critical Mass so the buds talk by itself. Great volume flowers

- and Big Bud's use gave great results with those spectacular flowers that, specially in satives,

- where it's a strange thing, but with this Jack Herer and Critical hybrid... You can see these flowers!

- It's not only one... It's homogeneous... Spectacular weight in harvest. Some of them are specially hard

- We're in the 7th week... Almost the 8th, and we can see they're

- developing at their best. If we take a look, we can see that with different strains, one sative and other indica,

- we'll see that height is so different... This time it's moderated but you should play atention to that,

- and there are easy tricks like this... It will optimize short plants results... Specially indicas, but in this case, Super OG

- Kush by Pyramid Seeds are not behind even not being so tall compared with satives, but not bad. It those plants

- had their own garden, it could have developed still bigger satellites... But those satellites are like a central bud.

- And this main bud... Let's ask it something...

- This mic is cool. We'll easily balance height, specially in this plant... Almost outside of the central light, and it won't

- damaged if we elevate it a little bit. You can put anything under the plant. It shouldn't be putrefactable

- or damaging. We'll use a clean pot filled with clean ground from another tent as a base. You can use it empty

- but it will be more stable if it's full of ground. If it's full, you'll have no problems, it will hold your plant and it will

- help to get a taller plant to balance the garden. Don't let a plant to glean in your garden because flower will be smaller

- than the buds closer to the light because remember, intensity is important. It's a really productive strain by Pyramid... No problems even being far from the light

- to give us tremendous flowers and you can see this... High relfection of this Pro Box also contributed

- developing it concentrating the light that we could loose with a low quality tent... We can implement a reflection wall

- or if you have quality, you'll get quality because it's going to take profit even from the lower light because low parts of

- the plants will give you nice flowers, increasing harvest's weight, so take invest in a nice grow tent, you'll apreciate it.

- They're being really careful with humidity in this garden, increasing time between irrigations if ground's over hydrated.

- You can also open those big windows to decrease humidity. Depending on the variety and the volume of your

- buds it will be almost unexpendable because if you've got humity peaks, you'll have fungus problems, and, during

- bloom it could be a disaster when it's at only 2 irrigations of Overdrive to the final cut. Irrigations are really important...

- You must follow the table well, and if you've got different strains in your garden, make an average between both values

- or adapt it individually. In this case, majority of irrigations has been an average, so it could be still better.

- Results using Advanced Nutrients, a professional line, are really nice. It will be easy if you follow the PH perfect

- table, and you'll save a measurement because it can even correct the range to increase your plant's absortion.

- If you use products out of Ph perfect line, you will have to measure. Not hard, with a nice measurement tool,

- like Blue Lab pens... You'll obtain a range and you'll have to adjust Ph. There are, of course,

- natural remedies like lemon or whatever to adjust acidity. We recommend organics, and specially don't add rests

- because there are a lot of methods to adjust Ph but you must use something neutral. Ec is not so easy to measure,

- and we must let it reasonable ranges thinking on slow liberation of nutrients.

- To develop those big flowers, we had to know a lot about the water it needed... When do our plants need water?

- If you've got an homogeneous garden, it should be an automatic balance...

- This time we've got 2 strains but it's well balanced, and grower irrigated them together. Then... Water's quantity

- your plant will need, of course with added fertilizer, it will variate depending on your plant's size, draining, temperature,

- your general method for the plant, if you growth it a lot, you'll need more water of course.

- This water must be full of nutrients... You ain't got any problem if yo follow the table. If you touch ground and it's

- dry, or lightly wet, we should irrigate. But you shouldn't irrigate over water, because your plant won't absorv nutrients

- and we'll only rot roots accumulating humidity. Irrigate only when it's needed. If you can, do it daily, that's what i recommend.

- It depends on your own growing system. Observ your strain and it's behaviour... And the pot's size. All these factors

- will determine needed water's quantity, and doing it balanced, will give you great results, so control it.

- Those big buds are not casuality... It's due to using additives... Specially for the roots, but then in bloom,

- we've added Big Bud, that made those great hard flowers. Overdrive did its job too...

- You can feel it in flower's hardness. Overdrive is really spectacular, and we'll finish it with Flawless Finish.

- Overdrive is a specific product for this phase made by Advanced Nutrients to supply all needed carbo hydrates to

- get enormous buds. Let's focus on this product. With Overdrive, we'll push our plants and you'll feel it when

- you harvest all your garden. Before that summit moment of bloom, a lot of growers use to let those buds to wait for

- maturing, and we can still do a powerful work about hardness and power of the bud, and you'll check it with Overdrive.

- Don't stop once you finished using your bud fattening product. We use Big Bud, and you can still add something to improve

- your flowers. If you follow the table, you'll know when to introduce Overdrive... After Big Bad and before Flawless Finish.

- We'll increase a lot our harvest results arriving gr/w, depending on the strain you're working with.

- Overdrive is composed by the best quality nutrients for this phase... Well seing those flowers.. I'd like to smoke one...

- See you in the next. Good smoking people.

P Diddy is ice cold as he Photoshops French Montana from 'friends' snap

Sheesh, whatever French Montana did to Sean Diddy Combs, he better undo it quick smart.

Because it seems that when Diddy doesnt want you around he just erases you from his life.

Or from his social media, at least.

Posting a photo of Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar and Nas to his accounts on Thursday, to the untrained eye it looks like a chummy photo of three pals.

To the sleuth though, one will discover Diddy – or Love as he would currently like to be referred – has gone and Photoshopped French Montana was the friendly bros pic.

Side note: Bad boys Photoshop skills are legit! He captioned the shot ever so passionately: 3 Kings! GREAT FRIENDS! Love you guys.

#BlackGreatness.

However, in another shot, posted by French, its clear he was in the original pic.

While fellow rapper Fabulous was also left out of Diddys post, Frenchs non-inclusion was a little more heartless and ice cold.

And fans found it a little awkward (while some found it pretty hilarious…).

One said: The shade is real I guess. Another said: I sincerely thought him and @frenchmontana are like tight baddies.

Really?! Clearly with such friends, who needs haters. A third added: Diddy is low key the shadiest dude in the game However, Fabulous found the funny side of it – posting his own photo of the three of them from better days, of happier times, of BC (Before Crop).

Taken at the Roc Nation Brunch held before the Grammy Awards, the lads seem to be in chipper spirits.

More: P Diddy What went down in the 24 hours before the other shot was taken, we wonder? Maybe nothing? At the end of the day, Diddy did warn us he was a bad boy for life (oh come on, we had to).

Metro.co.uk contacted reps for comment.

The Subversive Copy Editor Podcast 3: How to Prevent Bad Editing; Part 1 - Duration: 10:26.

Hello. I'm Carol Saller, editor of the Q&A at 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘨𝘰 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘵𝘺𝘭𝘦 𝘖𝘯𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦 and author of 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘣𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘱𝘺 𝘌𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘰𝘳.

After twenty years of reading letters to the Q&A, I know a lot about what's bugging writers and editors.

Today I'm going to talk about how we can prevent bad editing—and every time I say "copyeditor,"

I hope you'll take it as shorthand for anyone who either reads other people's writing or who writes material that someone else reads.

So let's take another look at the copyeditor's two main causes of grief and see what to do about them.

As you recall, the first was our tendency to let our editing negotiations become adversarial when we're unable to keep our egos in check.

I'd like to talk about several tactics that not only help us avoid trouble in the first place, but also come in handy when trouble happens anyway.

First, there are what I call "the three virtues of the enlightened editor": carefulness, transparency, and flexibility.

In this podcast, I'll talk about carefulness—that is, being careful both in editing and in our relationship with the writer.

Care in editing requires knowledge and skills. There are several kinds of knowledge

that contribute to careful, collaborative editorial work in addition to copyediting skills.

The most important type of knowledge involved in producing great copy is the writer's knowledge of the subject,

which we must respect and defer to as a sort of default position. The writer also has knowledge of the intended reader,

which helps determine the right tone of a document and its level of difficulty.

Editing doesn't mean forcing copy to speak your language and at your level of understanding.

Your appreciation of and acknowledgment of this can be very helpful in getting along with a writer.

Next, there's your own learned knowledge, which will vary from person to person,

such as formal education, job training, or foreign language skills. In editing, you bring all that to the table.

When my own book was out for peer review, one of the readers drew on her knowledge of the wider editing community

to ask whether I could open up the book to a broader audience by de-emphasizing scholarly publishing

and including examples from journalism and trade publishing and the corporate world. I am so grateful to her!

Her comment is probably one reason I'm talking to you today.

One critical area of your own knowledge comes from your experience as a reader. The best editors are great readers.

They have an ear for prose, an appreciation of different voices, a huge vocabulary, and a knowledge of literary allusion and wordplay.

I can't overemphasize how useful it is to simply pay attention when you read for pleasure.

Frankly, I'm sometimes puzzled by questions to the Q&A that would suggest that the writer has never paid attention.

I mean, how can someone believe that you are required to put a trademark symbol after brand names in a novel—

have they never read a novel? The odds are, if you're a copyeditor, you're also a reader,

but if you aren't in the habit of reading for pleasure, and paying at least a little bit of attention while you do, this is the time to start.

In addition to all these kinds of knowledge, you must gain copyediting skills, including being able to write well, reason well,

and make editing suggestions in a tactful way, and of course you need skills in word-processing and negotiating.

In sum, to take care with someone else's writing, you have to know your stuff. Until then, you must use a very light hand in editing.

While you're taking classes or learning from your colleagues,

my best tip for learning how to copyedit is to read your manual—and continue to read it.

This is how to accumulate those little mental red flags that signal you when it's time to look something up.

You don't have to know whether the name of a movie takes italics—

you just have to hear a little bell in your head when you come across the name of a movie

so you know it's something to check.

My second best tip for learning how to copyedit is to find a mentor who will check your work.

I know it doesn't always feel like a plus when someone looks over your copy and finds fault with it. Let's face it, it can be humiliating.

And if the person doesn't really know any more than you do, or worse, if they know even less, the experience can be infuriating.

But try to tough it out. Resist arguing the points and defending yourself. Some day you'll realize that the trauma of these little humiliations

had the effect of searing the style issues into your memory. Decades later you'll probably get all choked up and nostalgic about the character

who first taught you how to copyedit.

So let's say you're now a pretty good copyeditor. If you aren't an expert word processor, become one.

Nothing can mess up your work faster than carelessness at the keyboard. There are many ways to step up your word-processing skills.

Read a manual, look at tech blogs, take a class, ask a colleague, and practice.

You will never regret being able to simultaneously be careful and efficient in typing, coding, and redlining.

And negotiating skills? Well, there is an endless library of self-help at the bookstore when it comes to manuals on negotiating,

and a book called Getting to Yes was a great inspiration to me years ago, but there are some specific habits you can form

for careful communication with a writer that will go a long way in fostering a collaborative relationship.

First, it's good to set expectations early on by making a display of your competence.

This would be sort of like a courtship dance if you were a bird in the wild.

At the beginning of a project, it's smart to familiarize yourself with the content and gather one or two very specific questions,

and then flash them—like colorful feathers—in an email or phone conversation with the writer.

This way, the writer's first impression of you is an attractive one. You show that your concerns are particular to their manuscript—

and that you are interested in them and their work. You show that you don't make rash decisions—

you're sensitive to their purposes. You subversively convey the idea that the manuscript the writer thought was perfect,

perhaps isn't quite, but that—thank goodness—you're on it.

This really works best if you have serious, smart questions that need to be asked up front, even if they're just about style.

I'm not suggesting that you ask a lot of questions or questions at too basic a level—

you don't want to appear indecisive or helpless or inexperienced. And I'd also warn you not to keep referring to your style book,

lest you sound inflexible or rule-driven.

As you work, be careful about checking in. Keep your writer apprised of progress.

Let them know ahead of time when to expect things. Alert them if you expect delays.

If a deadline is involved, contact them when the ball is in their court with a little note:

"How are things going?" "Do you have any questions?" "Is everything on track for May 19?"

Be careful not to make promises you can't keep. If you aren't in charge of the schedule, or whether the document will be in color,

or how many copies will go out, refer the writer to the person who can make the decision. Offer to advocate for the writer,

if you think they have a good idea. Writers love this.

And try not to say no to writer requests. Even if you lay the groundwork for a no,

you can always say "I'll ask" and then do it. I once worked with a writer who wanted to change the title of his book.

Negotiating this is not my job, and it's certainly not within my power to change a title. But for some reason he kept asking me,

and I kept asking the folks upstairs, and I kept telling the writer "I'm still asking" until finally I had to say the answer was no.

Acquisitions said no; marketing said no. But I know the writer appreciated my support,

and as a result he trusted me to look out for his interests.

Finally, take care to find out the writer's particular interests. When I worked as an acquiring editor,

my mentor taught me this valuable lesson, one that is at the heart of the book I mentioned, Getting to Yes:

that is, the best outcome is one where everybody wins,

and if you can find out what your collaborator most wants, you are better positioned to make that happen.

Maybe the most important thing for this writer is not that they get their own way in every editing dispute;

maybe this writer cares more about the schedule, or the typeface,

or how big their name appears under the title. The more you can learn about what makes your writer happy,

the more you have to negotiate with.

So . . . we've been talking about preventing bad editing through carefulness, the first of our three virtues,

and we've seen the kinds of knowledge and skills that are necessary in order for us to be careful with the writing of others.

Next time I'll talk about preventing bad editing with virtues 2 and 3: transparency and flexibility.

Underrated Action Movies On Netflix You Need to See - Duration: 5:55.

Unlike other genres, action movies don't need to be filled with nuanced performances or

a watertight plot.

If anything, those things just get in the way of the face-punching.

All a good action movie needs is a sky-high bullet budget, some flippy kicks, and kerosene

burning through its veins from start to finish.

Fortunately, Netflix is jammed full of underrated action movies.

If you'd rather see bruised chins than Oscar wins, this action movie roundup will be right

up your alley.

Skin Trade

Dolph Lundgren, Ron Perlman, Michael Jai White, and Tony Jaa sounds like a dream action movie

cast if we've ever seen one, and Skin Trade delivers on that promise in spades.

Granted, the plot is pretty flimsy—it's basically cops and robbers in Thailand—but

the thrill of seeing these action legends all in one place doesn't wear off.

Lundgren manages to keep up with the much younger and more agile Jaa in some wild action

scenes, and Jai White is, as always, a magnetic on-screen talent.

Come for the talent lineup.

Stay for the insanity and fist fights.

Savage Dog

Scott Adkins is pretty much the undisputed king of direct-to-DVD action movies these

days, and Savage Dog is an impressive entry in his filmography.

We rarely get to see Adkins in a period piece, and even though he still mostly just beats

people up, he gets to do it in different costumes this time.

But beyond the unusual setting, Savage Dog is still something special.

The movie opens with Adkins' character digging his way out of a shallow grave, which is the

only way to start a movie like this.

The film then goes back in time, catching us up to the moment of his burial and then

sending him on a brutal path of revenge featuring some stunning fight sequences.

Adkins' filmography is littered with cool action hits, but Savage Dog is a clear high

point.

Bullet to the Head

Released in 2013, Bullet to the Head comes from Walter Hill, director of the 1979 cult

classic The Warriors.

It's pure grindhouse fun, which is exactly what a Walter Hill action flick starring Sylvester

Stallone should be.

Bullets fly, bodies drop, and cars are blown to bits over the course of the movie.

It's a great time, solidified by Jason Momoa's role as the film's villain.

You don't want to miss it.

Boyka: Undisputed

Scott Adkins headlines the later installments of the Undisputed series as Yuri Boyka, a

prison inmate who participates in a brutal underground prison fighting ring.

Boyka: Undisputed sees Boyka released from prison and fighting professionally, but the

fight scenes are just as stylish and brutal as any that came before this in the series.

Four movies in, Undisputed is as fun as it's ever been.

Bring on the next one.

Small Soldiers

Children of the '90s are likely to remember the toys that spawned from director Joe Dante's

Small Soldiers, along with the crushing disappointment that they didn't actually come to life and

try to blow up your house.

"Let me see that weapon.

Standard issue is insufficient."

The film itself is something of a forgotten gem—and one that's definitely made for a

younger audience—but an action movie is an action movie, and this one is actually

a lot of fun.

Small Soldiers is weird, campy, and features action figures going to war with each other,

which, for most kids, was the best toy-based combat outside of Toy Commander for the Sega

Dreamcast.

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

In a just world, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow would have been a box office smash

and ushered in a new era of elegant, stylistic action cinema.

Drawing heavily from pulp cinema and comic books, Sky Captain is a wild romp through

a steampunk reimagining of a pre-World War II world.

The titular Sky Captain is a charismatic ace pilot who leads the daredevil Flying Legion.

Played by Jude Law, he's joined by reporter Polly Perkins and a brief appearance by Angelina

Jolie as the eyepatched Royal Navy officer Franky Cook.

It's a great cast heading up a fun, visually inventive action film that deserves a far

larger fan following than it has today.

Officer Downe

Want to watch the craziest movie on Netflix?

Officer Downe has you covered.

Adapted from the comic by writer Joe Casey and artist Chris Burnham, there shouldn't

be a way to translate this insanity from page to screen.

And yet the film manages to pull it off.

Starring Kim Coates of Sons of Anarchy fame, it's a hyperkinetic neon thrill ride that

plays out like Judge Dredd in a fever dream.

This movie has everything: nuns with guns, an immortal super cop, and a hidden government

conspiracy.

What more could you ask for?

Fighting

It's kind of hard to remember the days when Channing Tatum wasn't a megastar, but back

before Magic Mike and 21 Jump Street, Tatum appeared in this little-seen gem.

Tatum plays the tough-as-nails Shawn, a hustler who discovers he's a prodigy as a street fighter.

The fight scenes are brutal, no-holds-barred affairs that translate the intensity of street

fighting to the screen very well.

Fighting was never going to win any Oscars, but it's a very interesting, and often overlooked

entry in a talented actor's career.

Death Sentence

Modern horror master James Wan — of Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring fame — took

a brief hiatus from the genre in 2007 with Death Sentence, a Kevin Bacon vehicle that

follows the tried-and-true narrative of a regular man out for revenge.

When his son is stabbed in a gang initiation ritual, Bacon's Nick Hume decides to take

the law into his own hands, waging a one-man war on crime in his city.

It's nothing action fans haven't seen before — but you haven't seen this kind of film

directed by a wiz like James Wan or with an actor so effortlessly good as Kevin Bacon.

Bacon channels Nick's relentless drive, grief, and rage in stunning, understated fashion.

Throw in John Goodman as the film's villain and you've got yourself a good time.

It may be familiar action movie territory, but sometimes that just means it's worth the

journey.

What is Bitcoin? | Common Sense Investing with Ben Felix - Duration: 5:31.

It is next to impossible to avoid hearing or reading about bitcoin.

Within the past decade, it has gone from being a fringe idea proposed in a paper written

by a mysterious author, to being a mainstream technology that some people are treating as

a new asset class.

Bitcoin is now getting attention from the media, individual investors, and even large

financial institutions.

As bitcoin continues to surge in both popularity and price, investors will naturally wonder

if they should own some.

This is an important question to ask, but to frame the decision about owning bitcoin,

we first need to know what Bitcoin is.

I'm Ben Felix, Associate Portfolio Manager at PWL Capital.

In this episode of Common Sense Investing, I'm going to tell you about bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrencies are a relatively new technology that has emerged within the past decade.

Unlike traditional currencies, cryptocurrencies do not rely on a central issuing body or sovereign

government.

Instead they rely on blockchain technology.

The blockchain is an open, distributed ledger that records transactions in a way that is

public, verifiable, and permanent.

While there are now countless different cryptocoins available, Bitcoin was the first, and it continues

to be, by far, the largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.

You can buy bitcoins using traditional currencies, or you can mine them.

Mining means receiving newly created bitcoins in return for using your computer power to

compile recent transactions into new blocks of the blockchain by

solving a complex mathematical puzzle.

There is a finite supply of bitcoin, with a total of 21,000,000 that can be mined.

More than 16,000,000 of those are currently in existence.

For a long time, cryptocurrencies were pretty obscure, and mostly popular

within a very niche crowd.

More recently, the sharp increase in the market value of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies

like Ripple, Litecoin, and Ethereum has contributed to intense attention from the media and investors.

Being such a new technology, it is challenging to draw evidence-based conclusions

about what bitcoin is.

We can try to work around this issue by finding things with longer histories that bitcoin

might share characteristics with.

On his blog, Aswath Damodaran, a professor of finance at NYU, explains that things can

fall into one of four groups: a cash flow generating asset, a commodity, a currency,

or a collectible.

Damodaran goes on to explain that Bitcoin is not an asset, since it does not generate

cash flows.

It is not a commodity, because, at least for now, it is not raw material that can be used

in the production of something useful.

This leaves currency or collectible, and of the two it is most likely that bitcoin could

be classified as a currency.

A successful currency needs to be three things: a unit of account, a medium of exchange, and

a store of value.

As a unit of account, bitcoin is as good as anything.

As a medium of exchange, bitcoin is still far being accepted as mainstream for transactions,

and where it is accepted transaction costs are high.

Bitcoin has struggled as a store of value due to its significant price volatility.

While bitcoin has room to improve as a currency, we might be able to

look at it through this lens.

There is one other currency in particular that draws comparisons to Bitcoin: gold.

Gold would be considered a currency, not a commodity, because its value comes mostly from its

currency-like functions, not its use as a raw material to produce something useful.

Like Bitcoin, the amount of gold that can exist is finite.

As a currency, gold also has high transaction costs, and a volatile price.

It seems like Bitcoin could be a digital substitute for gold.

But not everyone agrees.

In a Medium post, Adam Ludwin from Chain, a company that builds cryptographic ledgers,

explains that he views bitcoin not as a currency, but as a new asset class altogether.

He does not think that cryptocurrencies should draw comparisons to traditional currencies

because their use case is so much different.

Ludwin explains that in much the same way that stocks and bonds serve public companies,

cryptocurrencies serve decentralized applications.

A decentralized application is a service that no single entity operates due to its utilization

of the blockchain.

Ludwin explains that, in general, a decentralized application allows you to do something that you

can already do (like make payments, in the case of Bitcoin) but without the need for

a trusted central party.

The growth and acceptance of decentralized applications could mean enormous growth in

the value of the cryptocurrencies that serve them.

Damodaran believes that bitcoin could take one of three paths in the future:

It could become the global digital currency, in which case it's high price could be justified.

It could become like gold for millennials,

a seemingly safe place for those who have lost faith in centralized authority.

In this case, the price would fluctuate, much like gold does.

Lastly, it could prove to be a 21st century tulip bulb.

A comparison to a speculative asset that soared in the 1600s before collapsing completely.

I have just told you that bitcoin can draw comparisons to traditional currencies like

gold, but it could also end up being a whole new asset class if

decentralized applications take off.

Or, it could fizzle out.

Interesting, right?

I know I haven't answered what you're really wondering.

Should you invest?

I will be talking about that in my next video.
