Your clients are afraid of skin diseases
to which the purportedly uses UV lamps?
I will present you several facts today
and you decide for yourself whether there is anything to fear.
So, if you're afraid of treatments
and you're thinking about limiting
nail extension treatments to a minimum
then remember also that according to WHO recommendations
you must limit strongly, firmly
also going out to the sun between 10:00 and 16:00.
What's next?
Doing various sports and recreational activities outdoors
always use a sun cream with a filter.
Remember that you have to apply it every two hours
and after every physical effort,
physical activity and of course bathing.
Actually, turning the body on a beach towel
it already makes you smear again.
To protect yourself, you must use 6 full tablespoons of cream
on the whole body.
A smaller amount does not make sense.
What else?
Remember that hiding in the shade of trees is absolutely not
sufficient protection.
Wear hats, neckcloths, long sleeves
and legs.
Only then are you completely safe.
Quoting the American National Standard Institute
Sunglasses should block
up to 92% of UVA radiation
and up to 99% of UVB radiation.
I hope you use such glasses.
And additionally, completely give up the solarium.
I can already see how the whole population follows these recommendations.
But malice aside. Let's stick to the facts.
The Skin Cancer Foundation: an international organization
founded in 1979
issued a statement that it is not unambiguous
the relationship of lamps used in styling
with skin cancer.
In addition, do not compare the solar light
with the light emitted by our UV lamps
used in nail styling.
That could actually end the topic,
but we will go on.
Why is the comparison of our treatments with a solarium an abuse?
In the solarium, UVA radiation occurs in combination with UVB.
Thanks to which the tan comes.
Manicure lamps emit primarily UVA radiation.
High energy lamps in the solarium
they are also more intense, if only because of the number of bulbs and their power.
As standard, there are 12 light bulbs in the solarium
with a power of 100 and even 140 and 160 W
And our UV lamps use small,
low-energy diodes with 24, 36 and 48 W power
However, that's not all.
To actually measure it
how much the skin is exposed to radiation
You must not limit yourself to converting watts in incandescent bulbs.
You need to check how many milliwatts fall to 1 square centimeter
the surface of the skin.
And this completely puts on the blades analogy to the solarium.
Confirmation of the safety of our lamps
maybe the fact that they would be needed
weekly manicure sessions
for 250 years
to balance the theoretical and low
the risk of a single therapy.
UV light therapy in certain skin conditions
such as, for example, psoriasis.
I have a strange impression that the nail modeling sessions
we are not likely to threaten us for the next 250 years.
The nail plate completely blocks UVB,
and UVA penetrates through it in only 2.5%.
What makes the plate an effective photo-protective layer for the bearing.
In addition, already in 1966 it was established
that the surface of the hand skin is the least susceptible to UV radiation.
The face area is 4 times more sensitive.
However, there is no data
which could point to the UV radiation connection
generated by a manicure lamp
with an increased risk of developing skin cancer.
UV lamps have been used in the world for over 30 years.
If they were really harmful
scientists would already have numerous studies on this subject.
Meanwhile, there are currently no results confirming this thesis
Some Polish doctors say that in the United States
the number of melanoma cases has increased.
Maybe, I do not deny it.
But do these doctors know that in both Americas and Asia
a product that has been dominating for years
is acrylic nails.
And acrylic does not require irradiation in a UV lamp.
I have taught courses in Peru, Mexico, Capo Verde, India, Mauritius, Mongolia, Thailand,
I talked to stylists from Australia and New Zealand.
And everywhere in the world the acrylic method leads the way,
because it is cheaper and faster.
Hybrid gel and varnishes only gradually gain popularity.
In an article whose title I will not quote.
Two doctors whose names I am also silent about
submitted the application allegedly UV lamps
they were at risk of developing skin cancer.
As it turned out, this report
it was based on the cases of two women.
Two.
Both ladies are residents of sunny Texas
occasionally using nail styling treatments.
That report was immediately torpedoed by the environment.
However, from time to time, someone who does not know the topic dug it up
and scares such information.
Occurring in our lamps
amount of UVB radiation
it is trace.
It's equivalent to 17 to 26 seconds
being in the sun
including two-week breaks
between visits.
The same report reports that the dose
UVA light supplied to the skin during our treatments
corresponds to sun exposure
at the level of 2 to 3 minutes.
Please admit that these are not a staggering dose.
Both UV and UV LED lamps
they're safe.
We can not show a clear difference
in radiation emitted by standard UV lamps and modern LED lamps.
However, it is worth noting that LED lamps
harden the product in 10, 20, 30 seconds
so very fast.
Thanks to this exposure to UV rays
during one treatment it is only a few minutes.
To sum up: the amount of radiation we are exposed to during stylization
it is smaller than during a family holiday meeting
organized on a nice sunny day.
A larger dose than when styling
will accept a client who is on a hot day
dressed in a dress on straps
he decides to walk on a manicure treatment.
These are the facts.
Nothing indicates at this moment
to make treatments using a UV lamp
they were indeed risky.
However, if the clients were still objectionable
Please, always before the procedure
you can use a cream with a filter, or put on fingerless gloves.
You will not be disturbing it,
and if the client feels better? Why not?
