Youtube daily report Nov 25 2018

It's time to get styling with Sunny Day's Style Files.

Hi, it's me, Sunny, with another look inside The Style Files!

How would you like to look just like a bunny?

Let's do it!

Grab the tablet to check out the things you'll need!

A brush, comb, hair elastics, chop sticks, hair pins, hair spray,

a bunny ear stencil and pink color spray!

Let's hop to it!

[giggling]

Looks like Violet wants a front row seat!

Using a comb, part your hair right down the middle

all the way to the bottom of your head.

Separate the two sections and comb through.

Now using your hands, take the first section

and make a high pig tail on one side.

Then secure it with an elastic.

Make sure it's nice and tight!

Make another high pig tail.

Remember to secure it tightly!

Now comes the fun part!

Get a pair of chopsticks to make a pair of bunny ears.

Plastic chopsticks are best for this but wooden ones will work too.

Separate one of your pig tails into two sections

and insert one end of the chopstick into the base.

Next, take a small section of hair and wrap it around the chopstick.

Keep wrapping your hair until the bottom of the chopstick

is completely covered.

You can use a hairpin to keep it in place.

Spray a section with hairspray to give it a little more texture.

Tease the section to give it more volume.

We want these ears to be big!

When your hair is nice and full,

take that section and wrap it loosely around the chopstick.

Tie the end of the hair to the tip of the chopstick with an elastic.

Keep going!

Take a section, spray it, tease it,

wrap it... and secure it!

It's starting to look like a bunny ear!

Now repeat the process on the other side.

Chopstick goes in,

small piece of your hair gets wrapped around the bottom

and now it's time to spray.

Keep teasing as needed.

Just like the first ear, wrap it

and secure it!

That looks amazing!

Time to color the inside of the ears!

Use a paper plate with an almond shaped cut out as a stencil.

Now spray on some pink color hairspray.

The stencil will keep the spray where you want it.

Make sure you color it in completely.

Look, a perfect bunny ear!

Now color the other side.

You look un-bunny-lievable!

Are you ready to see your hairstyle?

- Yeah! - Take a look!

Whoa!

It's so cool!

I look just like a bunny.

Thanks, Sunny!

Now I look just like Violet and she looks just like me!

I love it!

That's definitely one for The Style Files!

Keep smiling, keep styling!

Mitosis and Cell Division - Duration: 7:36.

Mitosis! It explains why a tiny seed eventually grows into a huge plant, why a

cut heals, and why a small population of pond protozoa can suddenly explode in size.

Today, we're going to learn what the purpose of mitosis is, what organisms do

it, how it works and what happens when it goes wrong. Okay here we go!

The overall purpose of mitosis is to create new cells. However, the specifics depend on

the context. Mitosis is involved in growth, repair, and sometimes in

reproduction. Somatic or body cells undergo mitosis in order to help an

organism grow. The cells divide and make identical copies of themselves.

For instance, skin cells divide and give rise only to new skin cells, and intestinal

epithelial cells in the gut only give rise to new intestinal epithelial cells.

(Which is good because you probably wouldn't want ciliated columnar

epithelial or goblet cells on your face secreting mucus... that would probably be

pretty awkward) Some cells, like mature red blood cells, don't divide at all and

never undergo mitosis. Mitosis is also involved in repair of damaged tissues.

A shallow cut or a burn will heal over in a few days as new cells divide and cover

the area. Some cells like epidermal, skin, gut, and liver cells regenerate very

quickly. The jury is still out on whether other cells like heart and nerve cells

divide very, very slowly, or just don't divide at all once mature.

There are organisms that use mitosis in order to reproduce. These organisms, such as

protists, reproduce by cloning themselves. Remember that gametes

(sperm and egg cells in humans) are not produced by mitosis. They're produced by

a related process called meiosis. We will cover meiosis in another video.

Nearly all organisms do mitosis. This includes all eukaryotes, so animals, plants, fungi and protists.

Prokaryotes, also known as bacteria, do divide and that looks a LOT

like mitosis. However, because they don't have a nuclear membrane, TECHNICALLY it

isn't actually mitosis. So, with that out of the way, let's move on to the actual

process of mitosis itself. It's important to remember that mitosis,

the process of cell division, is only a tiny portion of a cell's lifespan.

Cells are actually in interphase most of the time. The order of phases are

Interphase, Prophase, Prometaphase, Metaphase, Anaphase, and Telophase. We'll begin by discussing

interphase. During interphase, the genetic material is in the form of chromatin. It

will be packaged more efficiently later on. Interphase consists of three parts; G1

phase, S phase, and G2 phase. In G1 or "Gap 1", the cell grows, creates mRNA, and

manufactures proteins. At the end of G1, the cell checks for growth and for

damaged DNA. If the DNA has suffered damage, the cell will attempt to repair

it, or will stop dividing in order to contain the problem. In S phase the cell

grows and duplicates its DNA. There are now two copies of every strand. When the

cell divides in half, one DNA copy will be in one daughter cell and the other

DNA copy will be in the other daughter cell. In G2, the cell grows and

manufactures organelles that are necessary for mitosis. Perhaps most

importantly, a set of organelles called centrosomes will duplicate. At the end of

G2, the cell checks one final time for growth and for damaged DNA. Now the cell

is ready for mitosis. First, it enters Prophase. During Prophase, the nuclear

membrane begins to dissolve so the DNA can eventually be divided. The two copies

of the DNA are still in their messy chromatin form. However, they need to be

packaged efficiently so we can ensure that it divides properly. The DNA begins

coiling itself very tightly around proteins called histones to form

structures called chromosomes. Chromosomes look like this and consists

of two chromatids held together by an attachment point known as a centromere.

The centrosomes from G2 are also moving towards the poles of the cell. Second, we

enter Prometaphase. In Prometaphase, the chromosomes continue to condense until

they are coiled as tightly as possible. The centrosomes continue moving towards

the poles of the cell, and the microtubules begin to emerge. Third we

enter Metaphase, the longest phase of the cell cycle.

The chromosomes are pushed into alignment along the equator of the cell by special

proteins called motor proteins, which are attached to the centromere of each

chromosome. The microtubules also attach to the centromeres. Later on, these will

shorten and pull the chromosomes to each side of the cell. Fourth we enter

Anaphase. this is where we will separate the chromosome copies from one another.

The motor proteins exert so much pressure on the two chromosome copies

that they split apart. Each copy is then dragged back towards one of the two

poles of the cell as the microtubules shorten. Finally we enter Telophase.

The separated DNA copies are pulled to each pole of the cell. The DNA is put to work

almost immediately to begin rebuilding and reorganizing the important cell

components. The nuclear membrane begins to reappear and the chromosomes unravel

back into chromatin. The cytoplasm also divides in two; in a process known as

cytokinesis, yielding two identical daughter cells. The cell then re-enters

interphase and the cycle begins all over again. In summary, the genetic material is

duplicated during Interphase, then during Prophase and Prometaphase, it condenses

into chromosomes for easy separation. In Metaphase, the chromosomes are pushed

into alignment on the Metaphase plate, and then are pulled to opposite poles of

the cell during Anaphase. The cytoplasm then splits during Telophase, and the

chromosomes then unravel back into chromatin. We've taken a diploid parent

cell and created two identical diploid daughter cells. Phew! So, that's mitosis, now

we have to ask ourselves what happens when mitosis goes wrong. Well, that

depends. There are two basic categories of incorrect mitosis; incorrect division

of genetic material and too frequent division. Incorrect division of genetic

material most frequently occurs during Anaphase. Usually what happens is the

chromosomes are stuck together very very tightly, and so they don't separate

correctly when the spindle fibers begin to shorten. This results in a condition

called aneuploidy where one daughter cell has too many chromosomes and the

other resulting daughter cell has too few. Depending on the type of cell and

which chromosome did separate correctly, aneuploidy can

actually be fatal. Usually cells divide a measured pace and

stop dividing if there aren't enough nutrients available. However exposure to

certain environmental factors such as drugs, chemicals, ultraviolet light, or

just a simple DNA copying error can cause mutations that impact the

frequency of cell division. When these cells divide uncontrollably, they can

form a growth called a tumor. Some types of mutated cells only form growths in

one area, but others will metastasize and begin to spawn growths in other parts of

the body. When metastasis combines with uncontrollable cell division, we call it "cancer".

All right, that pretty much finishes up

our discussion of mitosis. If you found this video useful, I hope you'll consider

subscribing to my channel and checking out some of my other videos. Thanks again

Queer Lit Read-a-thon TBR! - Duration: 5:03.

Bibliophiles of the internet, my name's Adriana

and today I'm here to share my official TBR for the Queer Lit Read-a-thon.

As I've said before, the Queer Lit Read-a-thon is a biannual event where we take an entire week

to read nothing but queer lit,

and we're coming up fast on the second round, which starts on December 2nd.

More info on that can be found in my announcement video *and* my recommendations video where I go

through the entire bingo board challenge-by-challenge with reading suggestions.

Both of those will be linked down below, so definitely check them out.

Now before I get into what I wanna read, I did want to announce that the official group book this round

will be "Girls of Paper and Fire" by Natasha Ngan. So thank you again for voting and helping us choose.

And, again, I really wanna clarify that this is completely optional. And also this is *not* a read-along situation.

It's just that one of the reading challenges is to read the "group book,"

and now that you know what it is, you can read it during that week, on your own time, if you would like.

So even though I *do* really wanna read this one, it's actually not on my TBR this round.

So that just goes to show that it's a completely optional reading choice.

Secondly, we've been able to nail down a sprint and chat schedule for the read-a-thon,

and I will leave a link down below for where you can find that.

So please do take a look at that, and try to hang out with us on Twitter during the event,

because we would love that so much.

So I had a hell of a time deciding what I want to read for this, because I have so many choices

and I want to read them all at once.

But I had to really think about it and be realistic about what I can actually finish in a week.

The first book I would like to read is "Fire Song" by Adam Garnet Jones.

This is #ownvoices Native queer lit,

and if I recall correctly, the protagonist is queer and Two-Spirit.

This story is about Shane, whose younger sister committed suicide,

and he's been struggling to find someone in his life who will let him unleash his confusion and grief.

There's only one person he can really turn to on the reservation, and that's his friend David,

who he maybe kinda loves.

Shane is determined to go to University and move to Toronto, but all of that is put on hold

when his mother becomes withdrawn and shuts everything out.

So as things go from bad to worse, David and Shane have to make some hard decisions

about how—or even if—they can move forward from this.

If I read this, it will satisfy the Indigenous protagonist, new author,

POC author, and #ownvoices challenges.

Next is a book I'm *very* excited about, and that is "This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story" by Kheryn Callender.

This is about a character named Nathan, who's given up on happy endings and romance itself.

Nathan is determined to be alone and play it safe,

but he is tested when none other than Oliver James Hernández,

his childhood best friend and sort of crush, returns to town and barrels right back into Nathan's life.

This is giving me heart-warming queer rom-com vibes and I *cannot* wait.

This would also tick off the new author, POC author, and #ownvoices challenges.

Next up, it would not be the Queer Lit Read-a-thon if I didn't read something by Austin Chant.

I'm trying to keep the energy going, so I really want to read "Coffee Boy" obviously by Austin Chant.

This story is about a Kieran, who is queer and trans, and he is newly-graduated

when he finds a paid internship working for a political campaign he really cares about.

But he is quickly deflated when he faces the challenges of being openly trans in the workplace

and also dealing with Seth, an obnoxious campaign strategist who's always on Kieran's case.

But things get *slightly* better when he realizes that Seth has a crush on their incredibly straight boss.

And as he gleefully watches from the sidelines,

Kieran might just be developing an irrational crush of his own on Seth himself.

Just describing this book brings me so much joy,

because I know I'm gonna love this workplace romance chock-full of shenanigans.

This book would satisfy the trans spectrum protagonist, 5 star prediction,

and #ownvoices challenges.

And lastly, if I have time and have a really good week,

I would love to read "Ivy Aberdeen's Letter to the World" by Ashley Herring Blake.

This is one of the few openly queer middle grade books we have so far,

and I would *love* if I could get to it.

The story begins with a tornado that rips Ivy's home apart and leaves her family of five displaced.

And to make things worse, her secret notebook with pictures of girls holding hands

has gone missing in the process.

At school, Ivy starts finding her drawings dropped into her locker with really nice notes attached,

and she kind of hopes that the person leaving these notes

is the female classmate who also happens to be her crush.

This book would satisfy the new author and middle grade challenges.

And I decided to use my free space if I get to this,

which I've decided will simply be a challenge to read a sapphic book.

So those are all the books I hope to read for the Queer Lit Read-a-thon.

I would love to hear about any and all of your TBR plans in the comments.

But that's everything I had for this TBR today. Thank you so much for watching this video.

I really hope that you enjoyed it, and I will catch YOU on the flip-side of the page.

Bye!

How to Run Aground in 8' of Water When You Only Draft 4' | Sailing Soulianis - Ep. 24 - Duration: 18:53.

- So we are back at Skyway Yacht Works.

(upbeat piano music)

Moment of truth right here.

(upbeat piano music)

- [Kirk] I wonder if we broke the line.

- [Lauren] Okay, let's back up here.

How did our boat end up in slings

back at the same yard we just left

when we were supposed to be on our way down the river?

Here we are in our last episode,

getting through our first lock on the Calumet river.

And then, with only a few feet to go

to reach the marina where we planned to spend the night,

the boat just stopped.

Hey love.

- Yeah.

- [Lauren] What the heck is happening at the moment?

(laughing)

- We're having our first boat moment.

I don't know, is that what you call it?

- [Lauren] Sh*t breaking out a boat moment?

- Yeah.

Intro to cruising life, here. - Yeah.

- We unstepped our mast yesterday,

and our centerboard line runs through the mast.

So we read that you have to wrap a line around

the hull of the boat to hold the centerboard up,

which we did, and snugged it up.

But we didn't leave any of the centerboard down,

so we started motoring again and the line just slipped off

and our centerboard went down.

- [Lauren] So last night when we hit bottom,

we had an inkling this is what happened.

We tried to do some recon to confirm the board was down.

It was incredibly murky, and the light we were shining

was just reflecting off debris in the water.

On our second try, we got wise,

putting the light on one side of the boat

and the GoPro on the other.

Instead of drafting four feet and a few inches,

we were drafting almost eight.

Before continuing down the river,

we had to get the board back up.

- [Kirk] This was the mast plug we created

to run the centerboard pennant back up to the deck.

This piece of crap that didn't fit

was jury-rigged, was held together

with PVC cement and Life Caulk.

In a rush to prep the boat for the mast unstepping,

when it came time to finish this thing and try it out,

it didn't work.

The plug was too small, and the weight of the centerboard

kept popping it out of the partners.

Because we had already stayed as long

as we could at the yard,

we decided to tackle rebuilding the mast plug

at our next stop.

We thought we'd be fine, but clearly not.

- [Lauren] Okay, so the other thing

you might be wondering is, if you know the board is down,

why don't you just pull it up?

We tried.

The pennant wasn't budging.

- We're less than 24 hours into our motor south

and we have already run aground,

we already stayed overnight at a lock

we weren't supposed to,

we're already backtracking,

and we have to go and find ways to get to

get all of the parts that we need

without a car, without transportation,

and beg, borrow, and...

Well, we probably won't steal stuff, but...

Get everything we need to fix everything

and start heading south again.

So, we are now headed north,

which is the wrong way.

But, thankfully last night, we tied up to the lock,

we met a very nice lock tender

at the Thomas O'Brien lock,

named Andy, who allowed us to stay

at the very very end of the...

I don't know what this is, the pier here?

- [Lauren] Don't worry, Andy, we'll bleep your name.

(laughing)

- Yeah Andy, we will bleep your name, Andy.

Don't worry, we won't ever say Andy.

But there was absolutely no boat traffic

and dead calm all night,

so we actually got some sleep.

But the lock's opening now.

- [Lauren] I got a really nice seven hours, I think.

- [Kirk] Look at the water come rushing out of there.

Do you see the difference in height?

It's kinda crazy.

I can see about a foot difference in height

where it's rushing down.

- [Lauren] I don't have the telephoto on.

It's pretty hard to see.

- [Kirk] Yeah.

Alright, we should get ready though.

- [Lauren] Alrighty.

- Can you switch us over to two?

- [Lauren] Mm-hmm.

- And take that?

- [Lauren] Yup.

(humming)

- [Kirk] We're gonna do both.

Er to "Both" sorry not "2"

- [Lauren] Yup.

- [Kirk] We're on "Both"?

- [Lauren] We're on "Both".

(beeping)

(engine revving)

- That's always a nice sound.

- [Kirk] Are you gonna do the lines or am I?

- Whatever.

- [Kirk] Do you have shoes on?

- I have moccasins.

- [Kirk] So do I.

(upbeat guitar and drum music)

- We motored right past Skyway over to Crowley's,

to see if we could get some hardware

for our new mast plug.

Thank goodness it's not raining or snowing.

Bigger or anything that I can buy or borrow?

Can I get a two by six or two?

A little short piece?

Well I just...

So my mast is...

Just to cover the mast base.

So it doesn't need to be long.

Our centerboard fell down,

and then our line got snagged and now we can't move it.

So it's stuck all the way down

and we're drafting like eight feet.

'Cause we only draft four foot with it up.

- We showed up right as the shipping company,

Albert Logistics, was loading up all the masts.

Believe it or not, at that very moment,

our mast was being lifted onto the truck.

It made me really happy to be able

to see our mast being loaded.

You could tell they were taking

good care of our precious cargo.

That's our mast!

Awesome.

Cool!

I'm meeting Albert from Albert Logistics!

Nice to meet you.

- There you go.

- Thank you so much, I appreciate your care.

- [Albert] Take care.

- So we are back at Skyway Yacht Works,

after thinking we were on our way south.

We're back at this yard because they were the only place

that had a deep enough depth next to their dock

that we could get our boat in

with our centerboard being down.

(sighs)

Um, yes.

I don't know where to start with these guys.

They have been absolutely wonderful.

They let us stay overnight at their dock

while we prepped our mast ourselves,

they let us hook up to their electricity,

they let us change the day that we were arriving.

We called them up again this morning,

telling them about our problem.

The guy, I think Mark was his name?

He's like, oh yeah, come on up,

we'll let Steve know that you're coming

and we'll have space for you.

Like it's the busiest time of the season

and they're pulling like,

a dozen boats out of the water a day,

and we got a little spot on the dock here

so that we can try to fix this problem

with our centerboard.

We went up to Crowley's.

The rigging master there, I don't know his name,

but we told him our problem and he's like,

oh yeah, I think I've got some blocks for you.

And we're like, we need some wood too,

and he's like, oh yeah, I got some wood for you.

Just gave us all the stuff,

and it's been going pretty well so far.

- This is a really nice saw.

Let's hope that fits in there almost perfectly.

It'll be close.

Okay, we're gonna sand these if this doesn't work now.

- [Lauren] Okay.

- We're very close.

You wanna go down there and catch 'em?

- [Lauren] Yes.

Okay.

- [Kirk] You gotta be kidding!

- [Lauren] Still not?

- It seems like it fits worse and worse each time.

(laughing)

- And then we're gonna line up the next one, okay?

Okay, can you go down and trace that?

Oh, look at that!

That is perfect.

Exactly where we want it.

So we've got two pieces of, I don't know what this is,

three quarter inch ply, to go inside the mast plug.

One that sits on top, we've cut a hole through the center.

We cut a little penis thing here,

so that our wheel can go spin freely.

The centerboard pennant will come up through here,

go over this exit sheave,

and then out to our deck organizers

and to our centerboard winch.

And we're hoping that this crappy worthless screws

we've got here are gonna hold it.

And our free, new to us exit sheave is not too janky.

- [Lauren] Because it needs to pull up

a 200 pound centerboard out of the water.

- Yes.

I only have five screws, is there one in the...

- Let's hope so.

- [Kirk] I hope this works.

- Moment of truth, right here.

We were really hoping that with a more robust mast plug

fitted with an exit sheave,

we would be able to pull the board up.

(line creaking)

This wasn't a good sign.

The line wasn't lifting the board,

it was only getting more taut.

Kirk proposed one last-ditch effort.

- Let's take these lines off again,

- [Lauren] Okay.

- And let's run it back from the bow,

and just make sure we're on the board,

and then let's just try and give it a little jiggle.

- [Lauren] Okay.

But the line didn't appear to be moving

and we couldn't see anything underwater.

At this point, we didn't have much choice

other than to haul out.

(dramatic rhythmic music)

- Yeah, you see it?

We're pulling it forward, yeah.

(dramatic rhythmic music)

- [Lauren] Oh my god.

- I think it's pinched up, up front here.

- That looks terrible.

- When we were cranking on it,

we were pulling the board forward.

God, that's our home hanging 20 feet in the air.

So that's why pulling on the rope backwards,

it was just going up into it.

It wasn't coming...

- [Lauren] Right.

(dramatic rhythmic music)

- Yeah, you know what?

I think if we get up there and loosen that,

so we can pull it out a little bit

so it's not the hose, it's just the line.

- Yes.

Yes, yes, yes, alright.

(dramatic rhythmic music)

- [Kirk] Alright Lauren, tell me when you're on the winch.

- [Lauren] Oh, there goes the ladder.

- [Kirk] We're gonna lose the ladder.

Re-loosen it.

- [Lauren] Yeah.

- [Kirk] Alright, I'm gonna keep coming.

(dramatic rhythmic music)

Alright, pull tight!

(dramatic rhythmic music)

Keep going!

(dramatic rhythmic music)

Alright, so...

We are underway through the industrial...

I don't know, armpit of America.

Really terrible smells every 10 minutes.

Something new, electric, chemical,

just garbage, all sorts of nasty stuff.

And we spent the last, I don't know, four days here?

We spent all day building this.

This is version one,

and this bad boy is version two.

So hopefully that gets us all the way down to Mobile.

So we spent all day building that

and we rigged it all up,

and the board was still stuck.

So we got the boat in the air,

saw the centerboard was hanging forward at about 45 degrees,

and it ended up being a very easy fix.

It wasn't stuck in there very hard at all.

We pulled the centerboard forward a little bit

and then we could easily get the line back up,

and all was set.

We were in the air for about five minutes and it was fixed.

So here's hoping we don't have to deal with that again,

but, I think if we do I've got a better idea

of how we can fix things now.

I think if it gets stuck, and we can figure out

if it's all the way forward,

we actually just need to loosen everything up,

and if we're in a spot that we can get

in the water it's a very easy fix.

If we can't get in the water,

it's a little bit more tricky,

but we might be able to get a boat hook on it

and pull the line back or something,

and get us re-sorted.

So we'll see.

Fingers crossed we don't have

to go through that again, though.

Well, 24 hours later, we're back, 10 feet closer

to the dock, tied to the dock than we got last night.

Another beautiful night with a beautiful sunset,

and hopefully this time we can continue south.

But check this out.

[Loud hum of motors]

It's gonna be hard to see,

but there's about a 1,000-foot long barge

and tow that are pulling into the lock right now,

and if we were docked there

like we were last night,

we would've been absolutely crushed.

We were so lucky last night

that it was dead calm and nobody came by.

(sighs)

Thank our lucky stars.

THE GRID VR | Virtual Reality News - Spheres, The Limit, Age of Sail, Oculus Absorbed, Echo Combat - Duration: 11:08.

What is currently happening Programs, welcome to the Grid VR.

Where I'll be bringing you this weeks news in Virtual Reality.

Its Sunday the 25th of November 2018 and all I can say this week is: VR stories tell tall

tales.

We've got Spheres spinning ears from beyond the black hole, Where Thoughts Go reflecting

what you know, Crow the Legend takes you to the edge of it all, Age of Sail, Echo Combat,

The Limit VR short and much more.

Today Im going to cover off the main events to keep you in the loop.

So stay locked, enjoy, and welcome, to the Grid VR.

Before I kick off this week I just wanted to give you a heads up that over the last

2 years I've spent over 600 hours putting together the most complete Twitch streaming

video tutorial series on the internet.

It's 10 videos totalling 3 and a half hours, and covers everything you need to know about

streaming to Twitch from a PS4, Xbox One, or gaming PC.

It'll be free for all Patrons up until next week, $80 on Udemy, or $20 if you check the

discount code in the description of this video, and the first 3 videos that cover hardware

setup in it's entirety will go up here on this YouTube channel for free next week.

Don't freak out when you see them, I started these before I owned a VR headset and they

are likely to be the last non VR videos on this channel.

If you know anyone with a PS4, Xbox or gaming PC looking to record or stream then I'd really

appreciate if you helped to share it around.

Now, lets get back to the ViRus..

I'm just going to go right out and say it, Spheres is the best VR experience I've ever

tried in terms of being totally disconnected from reality and absorbed in to VR completely.

Written and directed by Eliza McNitt and produced by Darren Aronofsky and Ari Handel, this 3

part VR space vacum will suck you out in to the cosmos and show you sounds in a way that

grabs hold, looks in to your eyes and broadens your horizon beyond the borders of Earth.

The 3 chapters, Chorus of the Cosmos, Songs of Space Time, and Pale Blue dot are inspired

by this image of the same name taken by the Voyager 1 Space Probe in 1990.

And what your actually seeing here when we zoom right in is ah god dam it Well if we

zoom out from there a little, what you're seeing is a picture of the earth from about

3.7 billion miles, or 6 billion kilometers away.

During Spheres you'll get to overlook aurora's from the atmosphere and bend the electro magnetic

spectrum with your own hands, jump start a solar system, be a star as it gets sucked

in to a black hole, be a black hole, and then beat a black hole with another black hole.

Spheres was so good I don't think I'm too harsh in saying that it takes a massive shit

on any planetarium I've ever been to, and I was completely lost for words that weren't

wow . Presented by City Lights, who bought the rights

to this series earlier in the year in a massive 7 figure deal, which you can see more about

in this episode of The Grid VR, if you liked Cosmos, a space time odyssey, then this is

your jam already.

There's a link in the description to the experience on the Oculus Store, it's $10, though no Vive

support I can find as yet, but if you're a Vive owner and get it working with Revive

then be sure to let us all know in the comments below.

The Limit VR is an immersive cinema experience from director Robert Rodriguez who you likely

know from the El Mariachi trilogy, From Dusk till Dawn, Planet Terror and um, Spy Kids.

It features Rodriguez sister Michell Rodriguez of Rodriguez and Rodriguez, Rebel Rodriguez

on music Rodriguez and Norman Rodriguez Reedus from the hit tv Rodriguez the Walking Rodriguez.

It's a 20 minute Rodriguez in a virtual cinema and has both 3D and 2Drodrigueza seated experience,

$5 on a half price sale right now, and despite Rodriguez if you love motion sickness then

this is for you as the camera work does not translate well to VR, and though the story

is pretty tacky, in some parts its done in a really fun way.

And at the end of the day you get to pay $5 to be Norman Reedus.

Radriguez.

The Limit VR is available for any VR headset you can Rodriguez and I've put links in the

description below to all of that...

.... Rodri.

In a not so surprising move, Oculus VR LLC as it originally stood, is no more and has

been absorbed in to Facebook Technologies LLC.

And what this means is.... fuck all.

*lincoln snatch* Well, no less fuck all than what we already knew, for now, though it does

line up with the departure of Brendan Iribe which you can see more about in this episode

of The Grid VR.

The change happened in September and it could be a bad thing as Facebooks data claws work

deeper in to Oculus, or a good thing as Zuck integrating Oculus more tightly in to Facebooks

core structure potentially denotes a promotion of sorts.

Plus there's the fact that next year Facebooks expendetures will total 18 to 20 billion dollars,

a 40-50% increase on this year, so a more prominent position for Oculus in that corporate

climate could be a good sign.

I honestly have no idea and I'm sure you'll have an opinion, so when you're sick of hearing

mine I'll see you in the comments below.

And briefly, in a world where how many guns does it have?

And what type of zombies are there? is seemingly mandatory, Where Thoughts Go is a VR experience

that aims to turn you inwards on yourself through the experiences of others.

There's not a lot to it but it does have the potential to be quite profound on those willing

to explore their inner ambition and more emotional past experiences.

Where Thoughts Go is a unique social experience with annonymity at it's core and likely has

something in it that will connect with most people.

For $10 I thought is was a little on the expensive side, but it is worth checking out if you

want to see what impact VR can have on the human condition through almost immediate retrospectives.

Baobab studios, the team that brought us Invasion and Asteroids, croon their way in to your

virtual soul with Crow The Legend.

A story of a crew of wild life faced with an endless cold who send a hapless crow on

a massive mission to transcend the stars and meet the creator of everything.

Actually yeah, they did that.

With a celebrity cast including John Legend, Oprah Winfrey, Tye Sheridan of Ready Player

One fame, Diego Luna from Rogue One and YouTuber Liza Koshy, this is a stand out experience

for sure.

Part of the official selection of the Cannes and Venice International Film Festivals, Crow

the legend stands alone as a free soaring VR experience and I've put a link in the description

to the Oculus Store where you can see this for yourself for free.

From the official selection at Venice Film Festival, Age of Sail is another standup Google

Spotlight story, this time from Academy Aware winner John Kahrs.

This 12 minute tale of an unintentional stow away who helps an old sailor see the horizon

ahead while aboard a boat bound for the ocean depths.

The artistic style surprisingly helps all but remove any motion sickness despite being

on the open water, and it's charm make this one in my eyes, a must see.

Age of Sail is free on Steam, Viveport, the iOS and Android stores now and I've put links

in the description to all of those, plus a link to another free Google Spotlight story

called Back to the Moon which I featured earlier in the year on this episode of the Grid VR.

Go for launch Mercury is a one man labour of love from Joe Chisholm, who started this

project 3 years ago with no game design knowledge, resulting in the recreation of the experiences

of the Mercury Seven, a group of astronauts that piloted the manned spaceflights of the

Mercury program from 1961 to 63.

This early access title is for both flat and VR gamers alike, has full Rift and Vive support,

and if you want a really cool realistic home made sim of what it was to be a pilot breaching

the atmosphere way back when, then I've put the Steam Store link in the description which

includes an option to play the free demo, or the early access release is $17.

Also, the Alien Isolation Mother VR mod which you can see in this video here has been updated

and now includes motion controller support for those of you who can't wait until they're

90 and just have to uncontrolably shit their pants right now.

Echo Combat, the competitive zero g float fest where Brutal Deluxe meets Enders Game

and laser pistols has landed on Rift last week for $10 as part of Echo VR, which also

houses the free Echo Arena game.

I covered Echo Combat in more detail on this episode of The Grid VR, and if you like competitive

game play, own a Rift or don't mind using Revive and you haven't played this then you

should definitely play it.

An inventor named Samuel owen has developed a prototype motion sickness inhibitor called

Oto Tech.

"Worn on a headband behind the ear, it uses subtle vibrations to" trick 2 of the four

fibres that are connected to your brain and tell it that your body is moving when in fact,

it is not.

No public release, but if I could get my hands on a headband that would justify me wearing

a headband through an actual VR application, then I'm down.

And the Beat Saber 100k contest which celebrates the Discord group hitting 100k members is

set to wrap up this weekend.

The competition gives players on all levels a chance to score a Golden Ticket and win

things like Vive Pro kits, gift cards, Beat Saber apparrel and VR cover gear just by getting

their name on the board in regular and custom maps.

And if you want to find out more about that one, or anything else I've covered on the

show today then as always, all the links are in the description.

And finally, Google have filed a patent for VR shoes that let you walk in place while

you VR and you can see them in action here... here , here and here.

And thats this week on the Grid VR.

Self Sabotaging Syndrome - Duration: 9:39.

Do you find you're your own worst enemy? Have you been self-sabotaging? Do you

have self sabotaging syndrome? We're going to look at seven steps to let you

know if you've got it. How is it we can do some amazing and sometimes

unexplainable things like heal our own bodies by the power of our thought

mother's intuition the law of attraction can we really tap into our subconscious

mind can we really create our own realities it begs the question are we

novice gods thanks for joining me on the YouTube series are we novice gods see it

turns out we can create a lot of amazing things in our lives because we have

divine DNA within us we're children of God we are creators at heart and we

create these amazing things and we also create our problems and the problems

come when we self-sabotage so today we are looking at self sabotaging syndrome

do you have it we're gonna look at 7 questions that that you can ask to find

out if you've got it and how how bad you've got it so the first question is

do you believe you are a victim and you could look at this in your life like

look at how you feel about your job do you have to go to work

do you hate Sunday night because it brings about Monday morning do you you

know do you feel like you are the victim of your job of your circumstance maybe

of your relationship have you taken that victim mindset to where something is

happening to you that you don't really like it's an easy thing to do trust me I

know a lot about victim mindset I suffered from that for a long time and

in this series you'll find a lot of great ideas on how to get out of it but

that's the first question to find out if you have self sabotaging syndrome do you

believe you're a victim next question do you rely on someone else to save you and

what I mean by that is are you always just hoping for something to happen

that's gonna magically change your circumstances so

then you can finally be happy you can finally be at peace you can finally

achieve what's going to fulfill you and satisfy you and give you value in the

world give you value in your life if you believe that I mean that's part of

victim mindset that you you feel powerless that you you know you don't

have the ability to get out of that and that you must have somebody else that's

gonna save you so that's that's question number two you know do you rely on

someone else to save you now the question number number three is are you

anxious are you anxious all the time now the way that you know if you're anxious

is if you are constantly worried about something in the future something that

might could maybe possibly happen and you're worried about the outcome you're

not sure how it's gonna turn out you don't know if you're ready for it and a

lot of times you maybe have that that prophet of doom in your head that says

it's gonna turn out horribly and this is the end of your world and the end of

your life as you know it that anxiety comes when we're not living in the

moment when we are so focused on the future and often we are we are thinking

these horrible things that might could maybe possibly happen to us and it

really destroys our peace and our happiness and and it does lead to

self-sabotage and behavior because you then just so folks use all of your

energy on worrying about these horrible things and as you worry about them as

you use your fear that is how you actually create those negative things in

your life so check out that question you know are you anxious now a similar

question to it is are you depressed now depression comes when you are

focused on something that's happened in the past you're living in the past

you're fretting over you know maybe you haven't forgiven somebody maybe you

haven't forgiven yourself maybe you're worried about past mistakes and you're

just so focused on all this baggage that you're carrying around and you drag it

wherever you go and you hunk it around yourself and and you tell your so you

like your whole idea is based off of this these bad

experiences that you've had either with yourself or with other people and you

are depressed and when you get that way of course you start self-sabotaging

because you have this negative identity that says because of these things I will

forever be this so you know again look at that you know are you self sabotaging

because you're depressed because you're so focused on the past that you can't

fully live in the present now the next one is that you care too much about what

other people think you're so focused on how you're gonna appear or what they

think of you and a lot of times this self sabotaging behavior turns into that

you just you're hiding you're the shell of yourself you're not you're not living

as the fullest expression of yourself because you're so worried what are they

gonna think you know I can't say that or I can't be that or I can't do that

because you have these expectations but you placed on yourself that are what

other people think about you I had a friend of mine tell me once he said you

wouldn't worry about what other people think about you if you knew how seldom a

out even do now who was joking of course I think there was a lot of truth to it

but there's a lot of truth at that with all of us you know that we get so worked

up on what other people are thinking about us and often they are so worried

about their own mess they're focused on their own lives and they're often

worrying about what other people are thinking about them but when you get

into that that squirrel-cage of worrying about what other people think about you

and you're no longer living intentionally and deliberately you are

gonna have a lot of self sabotaging behavior number six is that you have

rigid thinking and what this is is you have a fixed mindset you think that

maybe you were just born with a certain amount of ability maybe you maybe you

believe you only have a certain happiness threshold that you could be or

that you could only be a certain weight or that you only had certain talent or

that no matter what you do it's not gonna change anything

that is having a fixed mindset a rigid mindset one that does not allow for

growth and I'm blanking on her name right now Carol DeWitt Carol DeWitt

wrote a great book called mindset and in that she talks about having a growth

mindset where you believe that change is possible and when you believe that

suddenly you are not the victim suddenly you are in charge of your life or at

least you have the capability to do that and when you start living deliberately

and intentionally you can get out of that victim mindset because suddenly you

have some control but if you if you're not living that way and if you do have a

fixed or a rigid mindset you're going to do a lot of self sabotaging which is not

going to serve you well and number seven is that you have low self-esteem okay

now with low self-esteem with the self esteem to start with self esteem is

something is actually a skill I was so happy to find it was a skill because for

a long time I believed as many people do that it was a fixed thing you know I had

that fixed mindset belief I'm self confidence on my my self-image and

anyway if it's a horrible way to live don't do it that way but when you have

low self esteem just understand that you can boost that you can boost your

confidence you can boost your your belief about yourself by doing certain

things by getting in alignment with yourself by by making commitments to

yourself and keeping them you know such as having a regular morning routine or

having an exercise routine that you say I'm gonna do this every day for 30 days

and when you keep that commitment to yourself you're gonna just little by

little drop by drop you're gonna boost your self-confidence in your belief in

yourself anyway those are seven steps seven key factors that if you have those

beliefs then you will exhibit behaviors that then will self-sabotage you your

biggest challenge isn't what's going on outside your biggest challenge isn't

with money it isn't with a relationship so it isn't even with your health your

biggest challenge is in your mind you got to get focused on what you truly

want in life and you've got to get rid of all that baggage that says you can't

do it because those are self feeding those are self sabotaging

beliefs and you need to focus on what you truly want because you are a child

of God you have his divine DNA within you and you actually can create the

abundance the life the wealth the just happy relationships that you seek in

life and it starts by getting rid of those self-sabotaging behaviors hey

friends want to get rid of stress anxiety and worry ready to use some of

your inner creation powers visit scott Wilhite calm and join me for a web class

The inner world [ENGLISH SUBTITLES] - Duration: 1:40.

'Energy, a message of peace'

A performance created by Vanecha Roudbaraki

The outside world, with communication and technology, is getting smaller and smaller.

On the other hand, the world inside ourselve can become big, bigger, and infinitely big.

We can take refuge in our inner world and, in our heart, we can find answers to our questions.

This show is in some way a communication with our inner world.

Personally, when I am permforming, I feel great and I am becoming great through you and through your mind and your existence.

Maybe it is a way of saying how much we need each other and how much this internal communication can help us find balance,

serenity and a response to our problems.
