outside of that bay you have waves where you can do some surf

I choose this beach because is beautiful and is near from the resort

so in the morning we travel by the island

to know Masca for example and in afternoon

we go to the beachwith the family and in the end of the day we go back to our resort, take a bath and go dinner

still in relation to the Palometas, and about bringing them to the top water

I was catching them with the floater but what did I think

I think instead of a floater why don´t I use a small popper

and use 1.5 meters line anyway with bread

and this way they attacked my popper

I tryed the popper befire without throwing the bread without sucess

so when I throw the bread they come for the bread and they atack my lure

bread like I said is a great bait, I used in a number 10 hook

without any sinker

we out our bread to go down very slow

make a small ball, do not just hook the bread

make a small ball, is easy with this bread

just a small ball of the size of the hook

and when the ball sink they will eat

and you don´t have lot´s of places to sit and eat

I put all my stuff near the waves pool

and there you have lot´s of place because most people are in water slides

and in that place you have lot´s of space and was where I eat

I buy my food and bring, you can´t do that but if you put in your bag nobody knows

I will not buy a hanburger and eat the bread and the tomato

another thing you can´t do since 2017

a new european law says we can not do picnic, before this law if you are in a hotel

with all included you say in the hotel you will do a pic nic and they give you a basket with food

and we bring and eat, now we can´t do that

so since last year you can´t do that

so you need to buy your food if you don´t want to spend lot´s of cash there

or if you don´t want to spend lot´s of time waiting for your food

or if you are like me or my wife and don´t eat that kind of food

so you need to do that

I want to do this again next year

WAS CHRIST.

IT'S A TYPE OF JESUS CHRIST.

WE COME TO NUMBERS 20, AND AGAIN, THE PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING, AND THEY'RE ACCUSING, "WOULD

THAT, GOD, WE DIED.

all right good day and good evening ladies and gentlemen welcome to a

special Happy Thanksgiving 2018 podcast I'm keeping it short

I'm keeping it sweet we have many more shows in the tank

I just want to record a special one here for this holiday season it's been so

special that I literally am gonna be publishing this late I'm actually

recording this on Friday the 23rd because I decided to choose a little

life balance and focus on something I do every year one of which as you can see

on the video for the YouTube Watchers rocking the beard it is no-shave

November so I try and create some more awareness for obviously men living with

cancer and obviously everything around cancer in general is not a positive

subject but if we could have some fun while creating awareness and also

donating money to create better research to cure a disease like cancer let's do

it so obviously the whole know Shave

November if you guys have never heard about it there's also something called

Movember M as in Mary or Emma's in mustache so if you see guys rockin

mustaches that they normally do or like myself I've grown out a beard that my

fiance does not enjoy and she doesn't like the scratchy hair we're all just

trying to do that just this time of year just as an excuse to create some more

awareness around cancer and the value of that is that obviously as you grow a

beard you have to do less shaving so you basically the money you spend normally

on shaving supplies or or anything greater than that if you are so inspired

we ask that you donate that to a organization associated with no-shave

November and that money then is earmarked to help research and improve

things for people living cancer so that being said the beards off the checklist

I wanted to record this a couple days ago but I'll just so you guys know for

newer listeners of the show this time of year here in the USA oh yeah

Thanksgiving so about eight years ago I stumbled across a wonderful woman by the

name of Mary laning in New York City and this was after my first year of

firefighting when I left the corporate space decided to go pee on a Hot Shot

wall and fire fighter through that first season I met

a guy one of my fire brothers who I found out he actually had a full ride

already ready to go meaning tuition paid to attend Columbia

University he was a very intelligent man and he was going to attend Columbia to

study chemistry and full PhD doctoral program you name it I was like man I

can't believe I met this guy fighting wildfires in western USA so I said hey

man after that season let me catch up with you on the East Coast since that's

where I'm from so I came up to New York City up to Harlem where Columbia

University is headquartered and was supposed to meet up with him but he was

still in some classes so I decided to kill some time go grab some lunch

catch up on some reading since my fire season that just completed so it's kind

of like a big vacation for the next few months creating some life balance so I'm

hanging out this cafe and I'll fast forward the story this guy comes in

creates an awkward situation for this woman sitting behind me

ergo Mary Lanning ends up subsiding easily knows no big deal and then we

have smiling and talking and she's just wonderful older woman than me I mean

she's been around longer than me running her charity if now as of this year 2018

the event called street corner gourmets has been going on for 47 years and

that's the story that ended up learning from her was that 47 years ago

technically 50 years ago if you include the first couple years her doing it by

herself out of her home she decided to start taking her Thanksgiving meal I'm

bringing it to the streets to the people of Harlem around her that were less

fortunate now they're either being homeless or low-income and I just find

that very powerful and the the story touched me so much and the passion in

her eyes and her voice inspired me so much I said Mary I'm not very religious

but I do believe in faith and I do believe in passion and you've got it so

I said listen I just finished my fire season she loved hearing that story I

said I'll be back give me your contact information I'm gonna come up and I'm

gonna volunteer with you your family and these people you gather every year to

create such a powerful impact and this is again eight years ago and it's been

powerful ever since every single year I go back

we her her guidance she creates a new menu every year it's been tweaked a few

times here and there but she helps inspire and create I'm not kidding guys

get this minimum 2,000 meals I think this year we did 2500 so over 2,000 made

from scratch Thanksgiving meals that we create in a commercial kitchen with

through volunteer work and then taken to the streets and we serve them hot on the

street Thanksgiving morning so we have another whole team of volunteers out on

the streets starting usually between 7:00 and 10:00 a.m. they set up and then

by 10:00 a.m. we're serving hot food to the people in and around Harlem and it's

pretty powerful I'll tell you because one thing I learned is it does take a

small army to pull this off and the first couple years I was trying to stay

and work in the kitchen and eventually going outdoors to help in the streets

over the past couple years I've tried to create a more life balance so now I

still go up on Wednesday the day before and then we start working like so last

night we ended up rocking it from I think we finally kicked it into gear

around 9:00 p.m. and we just like every other year we run that kitchen all night

long no sleep working through working through

different shifts of volunteers coming in working through different side dishes

making soups making desserts making snacks making this year we're making

giant vats of hot cider and hot cocoa to take to the streets because I believe we

broke the winter chill record for this time of year and we were forecasting an

8 degree real feel Fahrenheit pretty cold I think it was a low of 17 to 19

with a windshield so the windshield made it a real feel of 8 so long story short

two thousand plus meals and this was a fun year because this is the only the

second time but really third person who I've ever brought from Pennsylvania with

me to attend this event that experience what it takes to do this undertaking so

shout out to Brian Strauss er of the Strauss er project he's been on this

show a couple times over the years and he was inspired to join me this year

and we made sure we got him back in time to spend time with his family I came

back to spend time with my family know I'll actually my fiance's family this is

one of these holidays where because of the commitment that that event that I go

back for every year I lovingly told my family I said guys it's just too much I

have to go to New York City which is almost two hours to get into home get

out of Harlem on another can't I where we do the work and then get back and I

haven't slept all night long and sleep deprivation is not healthy for you guys

we've had a lot of sleep experts on this show talking health so long story short

I made the commitment then sensing you know what my fiance's family's right

down the road from our house so that's a heck of a lot easier to accomplish

another another tradition I'm gonna throw in here for you guys is we also

attempt to do a mountain bike ride every Thanksgiving Day morning here locally at

a park we usually have at least 20 people sometimes 30 depending on who

wants to brave the cold winters start and sure enough I actually was able to

make it back in time my loving fiance brought her own bike down and made sure

she grabbed my bike with it so that way I could just

I drove like basically drove from Harlem New York I think we left around 7:30

a.m. made it to Brian's house where my car was staged grabbed my car left

thanked him for his service we're gonna catch up soon on a new podcast and then

drove to the park to meet them I got changed in the parking lot freezing my

butt off and this annual ride is called the Jaeger ride it is inspired by a

Jagermeister the the liquor again if you choose not to drink it's okay you can

still do this ride and freeze your butt off with everybody else and not drink so

I will admit a couple of times on the ride I'm sleep-deprived and I was like

you know I'll have a couple of shots little life balance is the holiday and

it makes a little bit more interesting so we'll just say this it was a cold

ride it was fun hanging with friends and then obviously step on to spend time get

it get a quick shower and shower it either by the way I had a quick shower

to warm everything up change trains around head over the future in-laws have

a big holiday dinner there and this is around 12 o'clock and

afternoon so we're still going I I've been up since 6:00 a.m. the day before I

woke up at 6 a.m. Wednesday to go meet Brian and then drive into the city I

will talk about this more another show I think I'm still actually sleep-deprived

because my my story is a little chunky but uh anyway I met Brian because he

changed up this year instead of going straight to the event he had his own

powerful event that we're gonna bring up on a near on one of our upcoming shows

where there is a powerful organization out of New York ever since 9/11 in the

loss of the Twin Towers and the thousands of people and thousands of

first responders who had died an organization rose from the ashes the

Stephens Stephen Siller foundation which gives back to first responders police

military amputees you name it they're going around the country building homes

that are specially adapted and customized to fit that person's health

issues impairments etc to give him the home that they deserve so they could

live their lives more honorably and more respectfully with a home that adapts

their lifestyles so this event on the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday we

were actually attending a house dedication ceremony in Staten Island New

York and I'll just mention the kid's name his name is John and his family is

amazing I got to meet them I got to spend time with them

Brian Strauss her and I had done a podcast a year ago creating more

awareness around his condition that he lives with it's basically summed up his

skin the skin all over his body never properly heals it's it's missing an

essential collagen component in his skin very sciency but long story short that

this young boy now 16 years of age as of this year goes through a lot just to

live his day-to-day lives he is constantly on morphine he's constantly

on pain relievers his skin never fully heals he's basically an open wound but

this kid's got so much resilience I hope to one day maybe get him or maybe and

maybe his family on the show to share their inspiring story but his family

sacrificed a lot in the verse 16 years his life and his brother his sister his

mother his father everything was kind of centered around him and his condition

and it was powerful to see Stephen Siller foundations

and their tagline is the tunnel to towers' organization and it's a story of

stephen siller who's a fallen near New York Fire Department they see FDNY guy

who who is off duty the day of 9/11 he tried getting to the tower he couldn't

he grabbed 70 pounds of gear his clothing his equipment that he had and

ran from the tunnel from Brooklyn to them.2 to Ground Zero and made it to the

second tower before it fell and then unfortunately lost his life in that

Tower so he was one of the thousands of first responders lost that day powerful

story amazing foundation shoutout to the stephen siller foundation and their

tunnel to two towers organization it's amazing what these guys are doing I

recommend checking them out I will link them in the show notes for the website

but just it's amazing these guys stepped up this the first time they supported a

non responder family this basically a civilian and they built an entire

brand-new home for this family they were invited in to see what they could do to

possible remodel or fix his prior home the president/ceo this foundation said

sorry guys I can't help you shorten up your house sucks so I'm just gonna buy

it and we're gonna build you a new house down the road and okay guys I'm gonna

save the rest this when we bring on Brian because it's just inspiring and he

could talk to this way better than I came I why I don't want to take any more

out of the winds out of his sails and how he's connected with his family his

uncle's family who lives down the road they are heavily involved his aunt is

actually on the board of the organization around this his condition

just amazing guys so anyway so from for this short episodes got a little long

sorry guys it's from seeing a new home dedicated for that for the Thanksgiving

holiday you can't be more thankful than that to then heading up the Harlem New

York to bring Brian into the fold of my friends and family that I've made over

the past eight years with the street-corner gourmets which was founded

hope and she runs this event and she has another event on Christmas and another

I am Renato Freitas and in today's video, the place where the Brazilian imperial court

held its summer parties.

So, if you like the look and want to know a little about the history of the place, like

in Petrópolis, historic city in the mountain region of Rio de Janeiro and VOU DE DRONE

Those who go to

Petropolis certainly must include the visit to the Crystal Palace in their itinerary.

The pre-cast iron and crystal structure, inaugurated in 1884, was commissioned by the Count d'Eu,

being built in the workshops of the Saint-Souver Lés Arras Corporation in France and brought

to Brazil completely dismantled.

Magnificent work of architecture, leaves nothing to be desired when compared to works from

the outside.

It is inspired by the Crystal Palaces of London and Porto.

In 1899, due to a hail storm, the Belgian crystals, originally installed in it, were

totally destroyed.

In 1957, it was registered by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute

The Count's intention was to present Princess Isabel, his wife, for the purpose of sheltering

the already traditional exhibitions of vegetables and birds of the region, which happened in

temporary premises in the place.

The ancient inhabitants, however, claim that, in fact, it was built for the performance

of the court balls at the time and parties, such as that which occurred in April 1888,

in commemoration of the liberation of the last slaves of Petrópolis, presence of Princess

Isabel, responsible for the end of slavery in Brazil

Nowadays it is the scene of great events, among them, the festival of the German settler:

the Bauernfest that occurs annually, always in the month of June.

At the end of the week I was there with my family, there was a gastronomic party, with

music shows, lots of food and homemade drinks.

The site receives guided tours daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, except on Mondays

Petropolis was, for many years, the capital of the Brazilian empire during the summer,

when the whole court moved to the region.

So it is full of histories to see, to live and to tell.

It was a 0-0 draw.

Not a great result.

We wanted to win to remain as leaders, but it was a draw.

We had lots of chances to score,

but it was one of those days in which the ball doesn't cooperate.

Of course 1 point is better than none.

This adding up 1 point is what matters,

and we'll keep fighting to take the 1st position again.

The routine is a bit tiring,

because we're always on the road or playing.

But what really matters is...

Just like today,

those who played

relax a little, get a massage,

so we are fully recovered for the next match.
