Alvaro Morata says Chelsea stars begged him not to take 'cursed' No9 shirt

ALVARO MORATA claims he ignored his teammates after they begged him not to take the cursed No. 9 shirt.

The £20million summer signing turned a deaf ear when other Chelsea players pleaded with him to inherit another number at Stamford Bridge.

Alvaro Morata opted to take the No.

9 shirt despite his teammates begging him not to.

The No. 9s to come before him including Mateja Kezman, Khalid Boulahrouz, Steve Sidwell, Franco Di Santo, Fernando Torres failed to live up to the leading man role.

The number remained vacant after Radamel Falcao found the back of the net just once in 10 Premier League appearances during his time on loan from Monaco during the 2015-16 season.

But that didnt faze Morata who said: "That was one of the first things I was told after turning up here.

Even the lads were begging me not to take that shirt because it was cursed, but I wanted it.

Moratas teammates say the No. 9 jersey is cursed.

The numbers wearer hasnt seen the back of the net with much regularity since it was on Jimmy Floyd Hasselbainks back.

The 25-year-old hitman arrived at Stamford Bridge in a big-money move after playing second fiddle at Real Madrid.

Chelsea were in need of striking inspiration after the decision to part ways with Diego Costa and Morata was brought in to fill that leading role in front of the goal.

The Spaniard believes he can reverse the curse and return the number to its former glory - to the days it graced the back of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink when he blasted 70 goals for the Blues in 136 league games.

Morata added: "I've done a couple of little things to avoid the bad luck that the shirt supposedly brings.

"Can I tell you what I've done? No chance.

If I did that, the curse will come back!".

After an electric start to the season, it appears the not-superstitious Morata had indeed broken the spell - scoring seven times in seven appearances, including a hat-trick against Stoke.

The former Juventus and Real Madrid striker has since been slowed down with a hamstring injury and he hasnt found the back of the net since.

Morata will face his former Los Blancos boss Jose Mourinho tomorrow in the crunch clash between Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Red Devils were in hot pursuit of the Spain international in the summer but instead handed their own No. 9 jersey to Romelu Lukaku.

I'm at K-Beauty Concert in Vietnam!

I'm here as one of the K-Beauty creators.

Today we'll hosting makeup shows

and have an onstage makeup demonstration with a Vietnamese model.

These are O-lens Secriss natural grey.

One-day contact lenses are the best when you're traveling.

I use VDL foundation a lot these days.

It's perfect for everyday use – so it's become my go-to foundation

Spread the amount you need on the face.

This sponge is from Picasso – It's flat on both sides

I've tried Minsco's, and I loved it.

So she gave it to me.

With this you can make the complexion flawless.

Uh-oh I didn't bring my concealer.

I mean, I don't need it that much today

but still I can't cover up my dark circles.

Because I don't have concealer,

I'll try to apply extra layer of foundation using fingertips.

Moving on to eye makeup

Apply light red neutral eye shadow on the eyelids.

Apply under the eyes as well.

I always find the foundation stick in the middle.

So I need to cover up this area well with the eye shadow.

Let me add some shade on the outer corner using the red eye shadow.

Today I'll be on a stage under a pool of lights

So I guess I can use some bold color on the inner corners as well.

Let me apply light rose eye shadow on the inner corners.

Apply the same color under the eyes as well.

Apply the rose eye shadow I used just now on the middle of your lower lash lines

and apply brown eye shadow,

, starting from the outer corner and connecting it to the middle.

As if you're extending your crease

Fill in the lash line with a black liner and pull out the line with a brown eye liner.

Now curler!

I'm applying mascara only on the upper lashes.

because the stage lighting is likely create too much shadow

if I put on the mascara on the lower lashes as well

Appy the eye shadow along the lower lash lines for balance

Add more gradient effect.

You have to have glitters for stage makeup

Let me apply kitten karma under the eyes.

Start from the middle

These days I'm so into bold glitter makeup

I do it very often

Now we're done with eye makeup

Today I'm going to draw thin arched brows for a chic look

Because the brows are longer than usual draw the arch a little further up, then connect it to the inner corners.

My brows have grown a little but I don't have the brow razor now..

so I'll have to retouch them at the event venue.

OMG I didn't bring contouring powder either.

Well the event venue surely has them so I'll have to correct my makeup there

Now lips. This is my favorite these days

It's translucent and glittery

Spread out to the contours of your lips.

Apply the blush lightly – make sure you don't put it on too much.

Now that I'm done with makeup,

I'm moving to a spot with electric outlet and iron my hair.

Since I got a haircut so many of you have asked me how I fix my hair

So I'm going to show you how to do it today.

I've been wearing the hairpin while I was putting on makeup.

So the hair is already kind of in shape at the roots

You have to shape it like this for some time to get the right comma shape when you actually iron the hair.

I use styling serum

it not only provides nutrition for your hair but also helps the hairstyle last longer

It also smells so awesome that you can use this instead of perfume.

Apply on the tip of your hair

and apply the remainder on the hands on the rest of your hair.

The hairdryer or the iron can damage your hair a lot

So this serum helps protect the hair by providing nutrition.

Apply it before you iron your hair, to protect the hair from the heat.

Part the hair, and start ironing from inside.

Start from the roots, ironing in round shape

I've ironed the hair with inward curls.

Before I style the hair further, I'm going to part my hair in a round shape.

In a more diagonal way.

Now moving on to styling

Curl the hair on the very top

Hold the hair and curl your hair pulling the iron backward,

so the hair looks voluminous.

Iron in small strands as well.

Most of you're curious about how I style the bang, right?

I'm going to curl the inner hair to make it look like a comma,

and have the top hair go backward.

With the top hair brushed aside,

hold the inner hair and curl inwards.

Because I've shaped the hair earlier with the pin,

the hair curls up sideways like this

Shape the hair once again in a round shape with your hands.

As for the hair on this side, pull backwards and shape the hair as it cools down.

If you want this part of hair to go to the back, simply pull the iron backwards

Pull backward, starting from the roots.

Same on the other side – iron the hair inwards.

And fix with your hand

Take a small amount of hair here and pull backwards.

This is it. Shape the hair once again using the styling serum so the curls last longer.

You may think "That's not the hairstyle I saw before. Why does it look so bushy?"

Let me just wear my hair behind my ears

I like to have my hair behind the ears so I always keep the hair on the side long enough to wear behind the ears.

So when I just tuck my hair like this, the hairstyle you wanted to see is done.

Today it was rainy and super hot and humid, a typical Vietnamese weather.

This side of my hair still has volume but the other side is just flat.

It's not that bad considering that I didn't even sprayed my hair.
