Youtube daily report Nov 23 2018

Like many artists, Jason Momoa

has not had only one routine

but several ones, to get the shape he has needed

to perform different roles through his acting career.

This one here is one of those routines he has used to

get ripped and as it is said "get a six pack" for Aquaman.

Let's begin giving some personal facts and body measurements

and then get into, what we think, his best training yet.

Profile.

Full name:

Place of birth:

Honolulu, Hawai. United States.

Date of birth:

August 1, 1979.

Spouse:

Children:

Occupations:

model, writer, actor, director and producer.

Body measurements:

Weight: 234 pounds

Height: 6 feet 4 inches

Chest: 50 inches

Waist: 36 inches

Arms: 18 inches.

Well known for his performances in several tv

and movie productions.

And more recently as the superhero Aquaman.

Momoa has followed the circuit training routine

for his roll as Aquaman.

We must know what a circuit is in order to follow it.

In a circuit training method , one performs the exercises

with very little rest among them,

and a full time rest at the end of the proposed series.

Circuits have been called rounds, stations ...

among other names.

They can not be used for muscle growth or volumen

becase of the caloric expenditure and fatigue they cause.

On the other hand, they are excellent as

functional exercises to get athletic performance,

to burn fat and get ripped.

They are used in many training systems like crossfit.

It is not adviced for long term use,

because the lack of adecuate recovery

can lead to serious health problems

specially to connective tissue.

Even though it is not indispensable

it is encouraged to have a stop or wrist watch handy

if you wish to be accurate with resting times

to get the most out of this technique.

Now let's get into Jason Momoa's routine for Aquaman.

Circuit routine.

We perform 3 circuits.

1 or 2 minutes resting between each one of them.

First circuit.

Seven sets, seven reps, with seven seconds of rest between each exercise

Second circuit.

Six sets, six reps, with six seconds of rest between each exercise.

Third circuit.

Five sets, five reps, with five seconds of rest between each exersice.

I recommend you to use 50% or less of your maximum lifting weight for each exercise.

Now let's see the exercises gathered in a three day routine.

Day 1

Bench press.

Incline press.

Dumbell incline press.

Dips.

Day 2

Medium-grip Pullups

Reversed-grip lat pulldown.

Narrow-grip pullups.

Seated rows.

Reversed-grip incline rows.

Day 3

Weightless squats.

Stiff-leg deadlift.

Back squat.

Weightless jump squat.

Remember taking as many resting days as needed after training.

Now

This is a detailed explanation with one of the circuits as an example.

Let's do it

with day 1.

Bench press,

we do 7 reps

rest 7 seconds.

Incline press,

7 reps, rest 7 seconds.

Incline dumbell press,

7 reps, rest 7 seconds.

Dips for chest.

7 reps, but now we rest

one or two minutes.

That's the first set of the first circuit.

Perform this same set seven times.

Then we have finished the first circuit.

Day1, first set, second circuit.

Bench press

6 reps, rest 6 seconds.

Incline press

6 reps, rest 6 seconds.

Incline bench press

6 reps

rest 6 seconds

Dips.

6 reps

rest 1 or 2 minutes.

And that is the first set of the second circuit.

It must be repeated

6 times

in order to get 6 sets.

Rest 1 or 2 minutes and

let's go to the third circuit.

Bench press,

5 reps

rest 5 seconds.

Incline barbell press

5 reps

rest 5 seconds.

Incline dumbell press

5 reps

rest 5 seconds.

Dips

5 reps, then rest

1 or 2 minutes.

And that is the first set of the third circuit.

We must repeat it 5 times.

We have finished the first day of this circuit training routine.

Day 1.

We must do the same

with days 2 and 3

using the corresponding exercise

everyone of those days.

I hope you find it helpfull.

Enjoy it and good luck.

Abortion INNOCENT BLOOD SHED On Ground Cries (Gen 4:10) Brings Judgement of God | Bro Sadhu - Duration: 12:48.

you understand what is going on and it seems the areas that have cursed God are

built on the faults after this revelation and I was so troubled by it

during the three-hour flight to Houston and all during that journey I was

praying very much yes for the US and for God to spare the nation even from the

massive earthquake so as soon as we landed in Houston and we came out of the

plane and as soon as my feet touch the Houston Airport

I heard clearly the voice of the Lord saying this city will be destroyed by a

massive front I didn't know anything about the history beyond Houston and I

was so troubled buddy I said Lord not again you just gave me a terrible word

in Los Angeles and now I'm coming to Houston to prove it hoping to bring a

message of peace of good blessings and now you are sending me to this city with

a message of judgment and so I kept it in my heart about this message that but

I was pondering very much throughout the entire journey from the airport to the

city here why did the Lord gave me this word why did the Lord spoke about this

yes and when we reach the airport that evening with together with another

pastor friend from Lancaster California they are said oh so sweet

we went out oh by the way but for Joseph sweet sends his greetings to you and he

expects a very warm welcome to you to come and visit his church whenever you

could really yes that City was my City of Refuge when I was being haunted by

the police and by the tearing me apart yes I was dead I went there uh-huh he

had seen you there so he wants you to come to their church no minister

whenever you could so that evening when we met for dinner

yes he asked me a question did you watch the news I said no I did not watch the

news that was the day the Supreme Court passed the same-sex marriage bill and

the white house was lighted up with the rainbow colors of the gay community yes

earlier when I heard that my heart sank and a new why God gave the word that

he's going to judge this nation with massive natural disasters for the wrong

decisions they are making did you tell anybody about what you saw the flood in

Houston yes I did to the conference delegates in Houston were they did they

accept it you know one very strange and a very sad thing that I've observed

about American Christians is they are quite indifferent the warnings that God

gives they don't pick it up before God in prayer they've don't fuss and pray

they don't fall on their faces they don't cry to God they don't take all of

the haunts of God they're just like having an attitude yes America deserves

judgment but most Americans forget to realize one one thing is when the

judgment Falls even the righteous Christians will be affected

yes like when the flood came in Houston even many Christians lost their homes

right wait wait exactly flew in with airplanes and

brought trucks and brought food Luanne was there and she was cooking our food

and she saw and Christians and people was horrible the flood your home was

under water what it wasn't it Luanne forth eat that

your house that was literally had to be torn apart yes and it's a miracle that

she's that we saw Street after Street look at there there it is what's gonna

say that's Luann's house I guess that's the stuff

your house but there is that but there's so much debris in front of every house

it's still hard for the way that it's hard to believe in the United States of

America that your city was so inundated but this man prophesied did God speak to

you why that storm would come to Houston not exactly but later on I heard it was

a Joseph switch shared with me that it is one of the abortion capital of the

u.s. she went lot of blood is shed the land cries out to God you knew that it

was the captain I knew that he is the ocean cleric captain has the biggest

abortion clinic in the United States of America i i've known this since the 70s

that and this is the truth back in the 70s even before well I won't go into all

the politics but let's just say if you want an abortion you would run to

Houston oh yes everyone knew that you would get to

Houston to get an abortion if you couldn't get it somewhere else hmm

so the amount of blood that has been spilled in the land in Houston you know

when the blood of Abel was shat on the ground

the Lord confronted came saying the blood of your brother is crying out to

me from the ground the earth is opening its mouth and crying out so the earth in

Houston has been crying out to God for all the blood of the innocent people in

shed there so God had to answer the prayers of the millions of babies that

are killed and murdered that's why he had to send his cleansing the program

that was just aired in America last way god bless abortion is the biggest

mockery of the death of the innocent you know I told you even when I saw this

just last night I said honey you're not gonna believe I was in

the living room he was in the other room I ran into the other room where he was

and I Sonny you're not going to believe what I just saw

no I've been dealing with this since 1975 and you know went through five

abortions myself I understand the whole situation and I have a right to speak

into it and and I said honey I'm telling you Jim I said did I say this to you or

not you can verify I said it's getting this is I can hardly take this anymore

it is just from a personal standpoint what this woman and that this country is

done I can hardly take any more because the Supreme Court made of course you all

know rule Roe versus Wade passed to the Supreme Court in 1973 and the rest we

don't have time to go there but the whole story of this Wade versus Roe

versus Wade Roe versus Wade with Norma McCorvey and is a lie yeah it was a

whole set up it was a whole line Laurie knows Norma we what she's gone to be

with the Lord me but I mean but I'm matter several your woman who Roe vs.

Wade was based upon yes she never even had the abortion I did not she did not

and they used her at the pond and she's carried that burden and if she's dead

now but she carried that and she met with Laurie

yes she did you can't lie to us anymore but they're trying to make a motion

picture to tell this truth alveta king who is my dear dear dear

friend yes it's producing the movie Brock you

know she's in charge of the whole thing I think I'll be the king of his dr.

Martin Luther King's nice and the cast and crew are walking away from the movie

they're making the movie to tell the truth but alveda King says the cast and

crew of roe v wade are rattled by Hollywood and it

it's if they don't want the movie produced because people are going to be

shocked that this whole thing is a lie yeah this whole thing is fake again it

says here that we won't be able to get an abortion tomorrow if this movie comes

out it's right they don't want the truth to come out and here here in America we

don't have the freedom to produce a movie that tells the other side people

you don't understand where we are I've been hesitating to tell you what's

going to come next one of the things but they're going to begin to kill the

Christian leaders in this country I don't want to say it I've known it for

many many years but I knew it would come and I believe God has told me that it

will be it's it's going to happen very very they're getting desperate they feel

they have gained ground by making abortion illegal and making other things

legal and they don't want to give up the grounds so there's a there's there's a

fighting that brother said do what's going to happen in America we talked

about it on yesterday's broadcast but we didn't go into all of it there was

another point you wanted to share what yes let's do that but and kind of really

do a little bit from yesterday we have an audience that is different every day

so we we have a amazing audience that it's like a rushing river that just

changes all the time and so this is so important people you've got to get what

he's telling you today these things are going to happen now there's a good crowd

here so there's some of you that want to hear from the prophets you want to hear

the truth

I mean you prophesied over Houston Texas you came off the plane you went to a

service you prophesied that this there would be a flood in this town it would

be under water and this lady his house was one of them not only this lady but I

met a family in Singapore who had worked in Houston for years

and their house was totally destroyed by the flood and they were penniless and

homeless oh my land just like Luanne and you know I just want to give this word

to you Luanne and also to anybody listening that's been through these

tragedies of it says here in Matthew 5:45 and it says actually that it rains

on the just and the unjust that's what he was telling us and that's what's

scary because people people who love God need to be prepared and be ready to help

people could this be a Joseph time for us do you think yes parent like Joseph's

death yes Joseph prepared during the good days he had a respite I guess you'd

call it him and he prepared and I'm thinking that just as it was in the days

of Joseph that the times are coming but the church is not listening it's not

listening

you

The County Seat - Kane County Commissioner change - Duration: 28:51.

Hello everybody welcome to The County Seat

I'm your host Chad Booth. We are on the road

today in Kane County at the Kane County

Commission Chamber with not 3

Commissioners but today we have 5 which is

the very topic of our show. We are talking that

unique American characteristic that after an

election there is an orderly transfer of power

information experience from one

administration to the next and this is a very

interesting microcosm because we have a

retiring a defeated a standing commissioner

and 2 commissioner elects all sitting at the

same table and I must tell you that leading up

to this point it has been very friendly,

informative and congenial. So my hat is off to

them so let's start our conversation and

introduce our panel. Dirk Clayson who is

Commissioner current standing and retiring

commissioner from Kane County we also have

Brent Chamberlain who is a commissioner elect

for Kane County and Lamont Smith who is

current commissioner and continue to be so

and Andy Gant Commissioner elect and finally

Jim Matson who is also stepping down at the

end of the year and thank you all for taking the

time to be with us today. I wanted to start with

the new guys and start with this question, it's

been maybe a couple of week do you feel

overwhelmed at this point?

Yes, it's going to take a lot of time and it will

take a lot of time to get up to speed.

What I am finding is that the current

commissioners have a lot under their belt they

know a lot of things that I do not know and

there is an awful lot to learn so not a lot of time

to do it in big steep learning curve.

Do any of you think there should be an

internship? You win election and you do an

internship for 2 years to see if you actually want

to take the job.

Might not get many people to do that for 2

years.

That's true. What about you existing guys

Lamont you have to do some relationship

building you have to work with these guys over

the nest couple of years.

Yes, it's going to be a transition that going to be

a challenge but they are great guys I know both

of them and I think they are up for the task and

I am going to have to be up for the task it is

great to have them on and I am really going to

miss Jim and Dirk and the good thing is Jim and

Dirk are still going to be well involved in what

we do.

So Dirk a curious question you have somebody

that is taking over your seat is it like handing

over your child? Is there part of you I hope he

does this right?

Well first of all you have to remember that new

commissioners are always better than old

commissioners. So if you have that mindset it

helps a bit and I have a lot of trust in the new

commissioners and I think that we have done a

lot to build a good foundation they have asked

a lot of questions they have attended a lot of

meetings over the last 6 months and been

bringing themselves up to sped so obviously in

my decision to get back into my businesses and

leave the commissioner it is a mixed emotional

decisions a lot of things you have a lot of

interest in but you have to be willing to let go

and trust us and new leadership will take them

to a good and better places and I have that

trust.

So Brent you basically showed up at the primary

level did you have an opponent between the

primaries and a final election.

I did. I had opponents both in the primary and

an opponent in the general election as well.

Were you in the same spot Andy?

Yes, I did not in the general but I did in the

primary.

Quite often in rural counties the election

sometimes decided at the primaries long before

the general election. Both of you have been

attending meetings for the period of time what

has been the toughest part of this so far of you

what is the hill that looks like it will be the

toughest one to climb?

All the different assignments. I cannot believe

we have sit down and talked about all the

responsibilities that each one has now and the

list is long and get your head around some of

those we have to get familiar with some of

those it will take a little time we will be relying

on Dirk and Jim to get us up to speed and lead

the way.

Is there one area Brent that in particular you

said wow what did I sign up for?

The same as Andy said there are a lot of

assignments there are these things that I had

not a clue that these are responsibilities that

the county commission dealt with and not only

did I not know that I also do not know what

they are so there is a lot to learn about it some

things are obvious I have been serving on the

city council for about 6 years and I thought it

would be a fairly easy transition but it turns out

there is a bit more with this than sitting on a

city council so I have a steep learning curve a lot

to learn.

With the responsibilities they change and so I

am also in the learning stage I am going to have

to learn some responsibilities that Jim and Dirk

have had that I need to do now it's a learning

curve for all of us.

Do portfolios change when there is a change in

the leadership of the county?

I expect that in terms of how circumstances

shape up as you go along some have strengths

and weaknesses and we also have a county

organization where other elected officials as

well as department heads we have to rely on so

we have integrating that brings us together and

the way I look at December 31 I'm not sure Jim

Matson is going to change that much there are

going to have to get me out of the way I like

working on this stuff I will be supporting these

folks as we go forth.

So I guess if all of these portfolios are going to

switch up come the first of the year I want to

explore the time commitment just a bit as to

can you pass on to these 2 gentlemen what the

time commitment is it is a part time job.

Part time job I like Commissioner Jones form

Carbon County it's considered a part time job

because sometimes on Sundays we don't work.

The time commitments are incredible and I

think it's I would hope that more people in the

general public would have a chance to learn and

I know that programs like yours help develop

educational basis for what our commission roles

are and how county government work are very

helpful in that regard.

Well with that nice pat on the back we will take

a quick break on the county seat and pay some

bills come back and continue our conversation

with the 3 member commission of 5 that we

have right here right now, be right back.

Welcome back to The County Seat having a

most unusual and interesting conversation with

5 commissioners who are responsible for 3

seats here in Kane County Utah it is a really

good example of the transition of power as we

have so many different scenarios between the

officials here. I do want to follow on something

and that is Lamont you mentioned that we all

have different portfolios and that there are

going to be some changes how do you

determine that. Brent you have experience in

some areas in city council so you probably

would be more equipped at municipal

relationship and intermodal agreements and

Andy would be compelled different. So do you

throw them in a hat and start picking, how do

you do that?

We have met and have talked about the

assignments that we have and there are

strengths in some of us in different areas so we

are going to have to sit down and decide who

can do the job. There are some at legislature

which Dirk has been taking care of and one of

so three are going to have to take care of it

now. There is land issues, road issues,

Law enforcement issues which I presume you

would take.

No, in fact I kind of stay away from that because

I was a Sheriff for so long here that I think

another man Andy can do that responsibility

because I will help all I can but I do not want my

way I ran the Sheriff's office to interfere as a

commissioner so that is why we talk to each

other and we find out.

I have a question are there any of them that

you both want?

Well there are some that I am not terribly

comfortable with as it's probably not a strength

as we talk about these things some general

areas some I enjoy and feel more comfortable

with we are still fine tuning some of that I think

that the advantage and we have a pretty

diverse portfolio experiences coming into this

we really do the 3 of us going forward and so

hopefully we can find within each one of us the

strength in an area that needs to be covered

and I think that will be the case.

Okay I have a couple side bar questions I have

been dying to ask. This might be the Jerry

Springer part of the show but Dirk as you

decided to sit this one out was Andy the guy

you were backing? Was your first choice or did

you stay out of it completely?

Well Andy was the guy I was backing from the

time that I knew I would be sitting it out I was

Knocking on doors looking for recruits and Andy

came forward and I felt good about his interests

and skills and his background and his interests

and the things I was concerned with.

Andy I have to tell you a story we were shooting

a show up in Orderville we happen to be at the

house of the Mayor my wife Ria asks how is it

that you became Mayor of Orderville, and he

said it was my turn. They came by and told me

it was my turn. Do you kind of feel that way

here okay it's your turn buddy.

Actually I think I approached Dirk first and he

said I think he said you better go home and

contemplate that a little more before you

decide and he said I will support you if you

decide to do it.

So there is another question that is dying to be

asked anybody who knows the dynamics and

that is the fact that Jim was running against

Brent and Jim is the incumbent and Brent won

how you have guys gotten along with this whole

thing.

For me up until the results of the election took

place I was competitive and I wanted to stay

competitive and work at it but when the results

were in I just had to settle down and sit back

and say well hell.

Now there's an honest answer for you.

This is reality it's up to me to make sure that

this transition is as orderly and as smooth as it

can be and I support it as such that is my

general nature.

So Brent I have run for office I have lost of

course I was not an incumbent at the time but

was Jim's reaction a surprise to you could you

expect that.

Probably not I know Jim well enough that he

would be a gentlemen through the process and

that if I was to win he would be disappointed

you expect that I expected him to be helpful

and be a gentlemen and that is exactly what has

happened we have had lunch and talked about

transition issues and his advice and suggestions

and again it gets back to the comment and the

kind of community it is it's not adversarial we

do what's best for the community. I for one

and I am sure Andy and the ones that have

been serving have been doing what is best for

the community it's not like this part time full

time full time is so desirable that you do it for

the compensation you have to be doing it

because you feel it's the best for the

community.

Let's move down the step one more we got a

few minutes left in the program we will be right

back.

Welcome back to The County Seat we are

talking to the Kane county commissioners past,

present and future like its Christmas season. I

do want to talk about assignments most people

think well the commissioner makes a budget

and decides a few things and handles some

planning and zoning you guys are really busy

how many assignments are there in a

commissioner's portfolio?

These guys know more than I do.

Part of the thing that I think is not commonly

understood is that we have both legislative and

administrative responsibilities. For example we

have direct line supervision and responsibilities

for many of the departments within the county

and we have a number of boards that we are

responsible for management of as well as our

other executive duties and so generally we have

about 60 responsibilities and divide up amongst

us about 20 each we have about another 15

that are common like the budget is something

that we all equally share and in the 20

assignments that each of us have or different

departments road, HR, volunteer center, office

of tourism whatever it might be we try to assign

those based on what interests level is there and

skill set is there amongst the group of us like for

example Brent Chamberlain was running for the

position one of the things that he had a lot of

passion about was economic development that

is a responsibility that I currently have and

instead of going to Andy we are going to assign

it to Brent it's been something that he has

interest and skillset in and I actually think his

new energy in there is going to be very

beneficial to us. So that is just an example of

how we try to manage things and in addition to

that we have a number of projects currently

building community center we might have some

specific things that are just a short duration 6

months or a year we try to assign out to balance

out our work load.

Do you think you could handle any more if all

the sudden the state says there is going to be a

new board and counties have to have a

representative on it.

We do that I came in as the junior

commissioner and I think they felt sorry for me

Jim hand Dirk they had a heavy load the

legislature is a big one and lands issues are very

big one of the reasons I did run for

commissioner back when I was elected was it

had been about a year since I retired from the

Sheriff's office and there was a lot of things

that I would like to see through on the road

issues but I found out that the commissioners

that were already here were well informed on

that so my transition in was maybe take over

some of the other responsibilities and let them

handle the hard stuff.

Guess that's not going to work anymore is it?

But we do have 2 capable commissioners and

the lands issues it was huge and Jim took that

and really knew what he was doing and Dirk on

the roads issues there is a lot of special service

districts that were responsible for and I think I

have about 6 or 7 special service districts I go to

and am a liaison between and the commission

and I found out that being commissioner and

having all these responsibilities was so wide

spread it was a great responsibility for us we

take a lot of pride in Kane county and we want

to help all we can. All these assignments get us

out of the chambers and out into the public and

it's how it needs to be to let the people know

they have a voice in how Kane County is going

to be run.

I do want to ask one final question let's start

with the current commissioners, Jim what

advise do you have for Brent?

I think overall he should not try to work on

something he is not comfortable with taking on

just a matter of identifying what that is and

then figure out the support and help in that

process and I am available for that.

The advice would be don't hesitate to call the

old guy.

Exactly, there is another good line around here

and that's there is no such thing as a good

surprise.

Dirk what advise do you have for Andy.

First of all I appreciate both of your guy's

willingness to step up and my advice is to try

and find a way to say yes. It takes some

creativity and effort and a lot of times

government is seen as this big no and I think

with a little effort we can find a way to say yes

and secondly to try and be able to find a way to

not get so worked up about issues in meetings

so that you can leave the meeting that you did

not have regrets about how you expressed

yourself or how things went.

With that this is a great way to end a half hour.

Gentlemen thank you for joining us. People at

home please take a moment to applaud this

transfer of power it is really remarkable there

are some places in the world that this transition

would be bloody and costly and here it happens

seamlessly and its been doing that for 250 years

so let's be grateful for the fact that we live in

the U.S. remember that local government is

where your life happens make sure that you are

involved and part of the solution and please

follow us on social media and take a look share

we would love to have your comments on this

and any questions you might have for these

gentlemen we can forward them through our

social medial channels thank you watching and

we will see you next week on The County Seat.

The 'Secret' Skills Of Gigging Bass Players - Duration: 12:01.

In this video, you're going to learn the essential, but sometimes hidden - even 'secret'

skills that you need as a bass player to gig.

Hi, I'm Luke from Become A Bassist and if you want to know what it takes to gig regularly

as a bass player, then stick around to learn exactly what you need to work on.

If you're starting to get confident in your playing, it's completely natural to want

to go public with it and start taking some real-world gigs.

There are a ton of benefits of doing this.

You'll learn an absolute ton doing it, you'll get to play music with friends, you'll be

able to make new friends, play great music for people who want to hear it, plus you can

actually make good money as a working musician because bass players are always in high demand.

It's probably because there are relatively few of us.

So I want to walk you through four different gigging scenarios and give you a peek behind

the curtain so you can learn what it really takes to gig as a bass player.

By the way, I'm not going to be talking about superficial things like playing in time,

knowing your instrument and grooving with a drummer.

Just being a 'good enough' bass player is expected at a bare minimum.

In some respects, just being 'good enough' won't actually cut it because everyone at

the higher levels can already play, so the 'softer skills' become more important.

If you can't cover the basics on your bass yet, then that's a sign that you may not

be ready to gig yet.

If that sounds like you, then I'd suggest you level up your skills with my Beginner's

Starter Pack.

But if you are ready to start gigging, let's dive in.

The first common gigging scenario is local shows at bars or sports clubs wherever you

are.

This is how I got started gigging myself and this is where a lot of people begin.

In my case, there was a local band in the town I was living who played at this absolute

dive of a bar most weekends and I slotted in there playing covers (usually pretty badly)

of rock songs that we liked - and sometimes the people at the bar even liked them too.

So what's the secret with these kinds of gigs?

Is it having the perfect bass for the songs?

How you look onstage?

What about the PA and sound gear you use?

It's actually none of those things.

The thing that will make the biggest impact in this situation is the ability to read a

crowd and select the right songs for that crowd.

All those other things are important, but song selection is the key for these kinds

of gigs.

Why?

Well think about it - most of these kinds of gigs, where there are people there not

specifically to see the band, but the band is there anyway, the music can make or break

the venue.

If you play songs that people aren't into, they'll leave and won't spend any more

money at that venue.

You might say 'So what?'

but if the venue isn't making money, then they can't afford to pay you.

Even if you're playing for a small fee or even no money (something I don't recommend

for these kinds of gigs), the venue is still losing out if you're driving people away

with your song choices.

If you figure out what songs keep people at the venue though, then you'll always have

work.

I've played gigs before where the venue said their crowds usually want current top

40 kind of tunes, but if the crowd is a bit older and they respond way better to older

songs, we change our approach to keep the crowd and the venue happy - everybody wins.

Song selection is KING!

Alright - the 2nd gigging scenario we're going to dig into is playing corporate events,

and I would include things like weddings and agency work in this category as well.

A lot of the time, this kind of work is quite lucrative - you can make a fair bit of money

doing it, but you need to do things right.

The first secret skill when it comes to this kind of work is ultra-professionalism.

If someone is paying you to play at their function or their wedding, they're going

to pay you a lot more, but in return, they're going to expect a lot more.

You can't be showing up half an hour before you're supposed to play wearing tattered

clothes and smelling like you haven't showered in a week.

You need to be on time - usually hours before you're even supposed to play your first

note.

Think of the planning that goes into a corporate event or a wedding.

For the fee that these kinds of groups charge, it should be absolutely zero stress for whoever

is organizing it.

If I'm playing a gig like this, I aim to be completely set up and ready to roll at

least an hour before we start playing - sometimes multiple hours.

The other really important aspect has absolutely nothing to do with the actual music, but has

a huge effect on the impact of your performance - and that's how good of a show you put

on and how well you present yourself.

You just simply can't afford to stand there like a lame duck playing your bass in jeans

that are falling apart and smelling bad.

If a company has spent thousands of dollars to book you, they're going to want you to

actually entertain the people there and look good doing it.

Some people get really indignant about this.

They say things like "Well if it sounds good, it shouldn't matter what it looks

like."

Frankly, the people who say these kinds of things are missing the point.

If they just wanted the sound, they could put on a freakin' iPod.

Instead they dropped thousands to book a band because they want an actual performance.

They want entertainment - so it's your responsibility to give it to them.

Now I'm not saying you have to be completely over the top, doing backflips, playing with

your teeth or pelvic thrusting your way across the stage and you don't want the presentation

of the music to affect the sound of your band, but if you just stand there like a statue,

that's boring to watch.

But even if you're bobbing your head along, tapping your foot, moving your body with the

music a little bit, that's enough to get people engaged.

The other thing don't forget to smile!

People used to say this to me all the time, "You should smile more when you play."

To be honest, this used to really piss me off - especially because it usually came from

people who weren't musicians.

I used to be one of those people who said idiotic things like, "The sound is what

matters - not what I look like" but I was wrong.

My presentation absolutely mattered - especially to a non-musician.

Now, when I play, I make it a point to express how much fun I'm having on stage.

It's a way to invite people in to what you're doing and it makes for a much better performance

which means you'll keep the gig.

The third scenario is playing reading gigs.

These are things like theater shows, touring acts that need local musicians, cruise ship

gigs that require reading - any time you have to read music to get through the gig.

Again, these can be quite lucrative - especially once you get to the higher levels.

But once again, doing this comes with it's own set of challenges.

Obviously, your reading has to be rock solid or you won't even get your foot in the door.

That's just one of those things that's part of the price of admission.

That means you have to hit the ground running and be able to read the parts straight up,

or learn the parts in advance BEFORE you get to rehearsal.

That's right - rehearsal time isn't time for you to learn your part - it's time to

rehearse the band.

That's something a lot of amateur musicians miss.

The real challenge with this kind of gig though is discipline.

If you do these kinds of gigs, you'll be sitting reading notation for hours at a time,

and a lot of the time, if you're playing in a pit orchestra, you'll spend big chunks

of time not playing anything at all.

You may have to rest for hundreds of bars during a song or even sit out entire songs

back to back to back.

It can be easy to get distracted, lose your place and then mess something up.

If you make a mistake and then mess up an entrance for a singer, you'll be everyone's

biggest enemy.

The director, the conductor, the performers on stage, the rest of the people you're

playing with - they can all turn on you if you mess with the show, even if it's accidental.

It can be a very high-pressure environment.

If you're disciplined and reliable though, and stay on top of everything the entire time

you're playing, you'll get called back again and again and again.

One last thing about these kinds of gigs is that they can be incredibly political.

Because there are so many people involved, it's not uncommon for fighting between different

people and different divisions of the production.

In my experience, it's just better and easier to stay out of it unless it directly affects

you in some way.

Alright, finally let's talk about original music.

This is a very different kind of beast and the gigs that originals groups play are usually

much different than all the things we've talked about so far.

Let's talk about musical skills first.

When you're playing in an original project, you're either needed to be an active contributor

to the group sound or there will be some kind of band leader who tells you what they want

and you have to try and give it to them.

I've been a part of both kinds of groups and they can both be really fun.

The key skills that you need for these kinds of gigs is an endless well of creativity and

the ability to be flexible.

If you've got a band leader who's trying to tell you that they want a different kind

of sound, it might not always be completely clear what they want.

It's your job to keep giving them ideas and slowly work towards the sound that they

hear in their mind.

They may even get really esoteric about it and it might not make a lot of logical sense,

but it's your job to keep modifying what you're doing to suit them and to never say

"I don't know what you want."

You need to keep coming up with different ideas and approaches until something sticks

even if it takes a while.

If you're an active contributor in an original project, the secret skill is that of flexibility

and compromise.

When there are lots of different creative people getting together to make something

new, there are always bound to be a few clashes in opinion.

You might find yourself at odds with another member over the direction of a song or something

as minute as a harmony on one note.

Apparently that was the catalyst for Crosby, Stills and Nash breaking up one time - a single

harmony note.

If you can keep a cool head and be flexible with the details of the vision, you'll be

in a much better place when it comes to an original music group.

Now if you're in the position where you have to book your originals group, that requires

a whole different set of skills.

You've got to be a good communicator, you've got to be organized, you've got to be good

with people, but the 2 most important skills when you start doing this are consistency

and resilience.

Why these 2?

Well because if you're just starting trying to book original projects, chances are you're

going to hear a lot of 'no's'.

Even if you're just trying to get on the same bill as other groups who might have a

similar audience, at the start, you'll probably hear 'no' a lot.

If you approach venues, you'll also probably get a lot of no's to begin with - or even

worse - they just won't get back to you.

In the face of relentless rejection, you have to remain consistent and resilient - otherwise,

you'll want to stop before the project gets anywhere.

You might have to start at small shared bill shows, then work up to being the headliner

for shared bills, then your own gigs, then out of town shows and eventually up to festivals

and recordings and all that stuff.

If you're not consistent with it though and fairly resilient, you may not last very

long.

Now if you're looking to score and hold some gigs as a bass player, like I said at

the start of the video, you've got to have your skills already pretty well developed.

You can't got in 'sort of' knowing how to play or you won't be able to keep a gig,

especially at a more professional level.

So if you're just starting out, and need some guidance for how to get your actual skills

to the point where you're ready to start gigging, check out my Beginners Starter Pack.

It's a collection of some of my best material specifically curated for the beginner.

You'll learn exactly what to focus on and the order to do it in to get gig-ready as

quickly as possible.

It's all free, so to get it, just go the link in the description, sign up on that page

and I'll send it straight to you 100% free.

You're going to love it!

To recap really quickly though, you learned about 4 common gigging scenarios and the secret

skills you need to get and keep those kinds of gigs.

For a standard bar-type gig, the secret skill was song selection and reading the audience

so you make sure people stay in the venue.

For corporate, wedding or agency gigs, the secret skills were ultra-professionalism and

making sure you put on a good show.

For reading gigs, it was discipline and maintaining focus for long periods of time.

Finally, when you're working on original music, the essential skills are constant creativity

and compromise.

If you ever start booking these kinds of gigs, the skill then shifts to being resilient and

consistent.

Thanks for hanging out with me today - it makes me happy when you make it all the way

to the end of these videos, so thanks again!

Make sure and check out that Beginners Starter Pack if you want to level up your skills to

be gig-ready - I'd love to see you in there.

How to Make Wine Soaked Cheese - AKA Drunken Cow Cheese - Duration: 13:58.

Hi friends, I've always wanted to make a wine soaked cheese, and I'm excited to say today that day!

It's harvest season around here and the grapes have just been harvested.

So I contacted my friends at Indian Creek Winery and they invited me to come

So the reason I'm excited about this is because I think that it's going to

give it a nice deep red color on the rind of the cheese. So come into my kitchen. Let's make some white soaked cheese.

Heat three gallons of pasteurized un homogenized milk slowly to 90 degrees.

Take 1/4 cup of non-chlorinated water

Add a 1/4 of a teaspoon of lipase

We're going to let that stand for 20 minutes while the milk is heating.

When the milk has reached the target temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit go ahead and sprinkle

1/4 teaspoon of the mesophilic culture to the top of the milk and

let it rehydrate for 5 minutes.

So while the culture is rehydrating

Let me take a couple of moments to explain the additive process in the beginning stages.

You'll notice that my other videos that I always add

the additives to the milk in the same order every time and there's a reason for that.

The culture should be added first because it needs a few minutes to rehydrate on the top, and then it needs

about a minute or so to stir in and make sure that all of the cultures spread evenly through the milk.

Now there may be a ripening period and

sometimes the cheese requires it. This one does not require it,

so as soon as the culture is added through the milk

I'm going to proceed on to the next steps

If your recipe calls for lipase the best time to add it is directly

after the culture and before the calcium chloride and the rennet.

Typically after that the calcium chloride would be added next and then the rennet would be in the final stage is because it's the

coagulant agent and within a minute that agent is already beginning to produce a curd,

so we don't want to stir it too much or you'll shatter the curds and it won't be able to form a good curd mass.

So always make sure that your rennet is last.

Cover the pot and let the milk rest for 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes remove the lid and check for a clean break.

I'm going to take my curd knife and just insert it into the curd,

pull it back and

the whey should begin to seep into the cut and it is!

We are ready to go.

Cut the curd into one-half inch cubes

vertically first then horizontally. While you're doing this heat up one gallon of

non-chlorinated water to

175 degrees Fahrenheit. You're gonna need it in a minute.

Cover the pot and let the curds rest for ten minutes. Now

it's time to wash the curds. we're going to remove approximately

1/3 of the whey so we can replace it with the heated water.

This first washing

the target temperature will be 92 degrees. So watch your thermometer carefully once you start adding the water.

Now I'll replace the whey that I took out with the 175 degree water. I

Can get a pretty good idea of how much I took out because there's a high-water mark-

or I guess I should say a high whey mark- on the pan and that's what I'm judging it by.

Stir the curds gently for five minutes.

Let the curds rest for 10 minutes. Now

we'll wash the curds for a second time, and we'll accomplish this by removing the whey and

replacing it with water. and

until the target temperature of

100 degrees is reached. Once you reach a hundred degrees, go ahead and stop.

All right, I just reached 100 degrees now, I'm going to go ahead and stir the curds for 5 minutes.

And then I'm going to let it rest for 30 minutes.

I kind of like this recipe. It doesn't require much stirring, so my arm doesn't get so tired.

Gently pour the curds into a fine mesh colander.

Because this whey has been diluted I'm not going to try to make ricotta out of this batch

But you can use this to feed your chickens or whatever.

Place the towel over it and let it rest for five minutes.

Now take the slab and place it on a clean and sterilized cutting board and

we're going to cut this slab into a

1/4 inch dice.

Once you're finished with the dicing go ahead and take three tablespoons of salt and

sprinkle it all over the curds and mill it with your hands. I'm going to give you a tip-

It's important to be able to get it as uniform as possible all throughout the curds so you can do that by sprinkling high

Sprinkle high, do some milling, rinse and repeat until it's all milled through.

Don't worry.

It seems at first like that's a lot of salt but it's really not because

much of this salt is going to go away during the first pressing.

Transfer the curds to a cheesecloth lined mold

Wrap the curds with the cheesecloth and

place it into the press.

Press this cheese at ten pounds for thirty minutes.

Vince built me this press and I like it a lot. I can reach the 10 pounds in one of two ways. I can estimate

by lightly tightening the wing nuts just so that there's just a little bit of

whey coming out. Im going to judge it by the whey, because 10 pounds is a light press.

But there's another way to do this:

I'm just going to place ten pounds of weight

right on the top plate.

And that way it takes the guesswork out of it!

Either way, your choice.

About 15 minutes into this press I noticed that my follower had reached the edge of the mold,

which means that the cheese is shrinking that's a good thing because we want to get rid of the whey

So this is an easy fix.

All you need to do is continue to use

these disks so

that the press continues to happen just watch your cheese as it continues to press and as followers as needed.

At the half hour mark, remove from the mold

flip the cheese and

redress it with a new cheesecloth.

Place it back in the mold and press again at ten pounds for 12 hours.

You'll do this twice for a total of a 24 hour press.

In the meantime place the pressings in the oven at 250 degrees F for 15 minutes.

So I decided to take this piece outside just in case I made a bit of a mess.

And here's what I've done. I've taken half of the grape pressings and I've placed them in a sterilized

2 gallon bucket. Add 3 tablespoons of non-iodized salt

to the wine and pressings.

Mix well.

Just so you know, if you don't have access to the pressings you can just do this with the wine.

I'm just fortunate enough to have a friend in the wine business,

so I wanted to see if this would work.

Once the salt is mixed through, add 2 teaspoons of calcium chloride to the mixture.

And mix it well.

You'll want to be sure to add the salt and the calcium chloride before you add the cheese!

Then I removed the cheese from the press 24 hours later. And here it is!

So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to

bury the cheese

In the wine and pressings and then I'm going to take

some beautiful Indian Creek wine

and I'm going to pour it over the cheese. This is the exciting part - I'm so excited!

And go ahead and pour it over the cheese.

And my hope is is that the wine is going to rehydrate those great pressings and

that the grape pressings are going to provide an additional staining property. That's that's the goal here.

I just finished pouring the wine all the way in

and that is it.

The cheese is now

completely submerged in the wine and the pressing and I'll take this back into the house at room temperature for 24 hours.

I'll do a flip halfway through tomorrow morning and see how the staining is coming along.

I did end up having to do an extra second bottle of wine

But that's okay. I already think I'm going to make another cheese since I've got this beautiful

staining property here and we'll we'll check it in the morning.

Remove the cheese from the bucket, dry it off with the paper towel,

put it on a drying rack and let it air dry

for 24 hours or until it's dry to the touch.

You can use the food tent to keep out any unwanted dust or bugs or kitties.

And here it is!

drunken cheese or

wine-soaked cheese.

This cheese was really very easy to make. It took less than four hours from milk pour to press and I

really like the fact that it ages in a refrigerator instead of a cheese cave,

so if you don't have a cheese cave you can still make this and I'm sure your friends and family will appreciate

It. the flavor of the wine comes through the rind of the cheese and a little bit into the cheese.

But the cheese itself is very flavorful and I would say a little sharp and maybe a little pungent.

So if you like that sort of cheese, I think you're going to enjoy this one.

Thanks so much to Indian Creek Winery for inviting me to visit!

As always we appreciate your support! Like and subscribe and ring the bell for future notifications. We will see you in the next episode!

People at

home please take a moment to applaud this

transfer of power it is really remarkable there

are some places in the world that this transition

would be bloody and costly and here it happens

seamlessly and its been doing that for 250 years

so let's be grateful for the fact that we live in

the U.S. remember that local government is

where your life happens make sure that you are

involved and part of the solution and please

follow us on social media and take a look share

we would love to have your comments on this

and any questions you might have for these

gentlemen we can forward them through our

social medial channels thank you watching and

we will see you next week on The County Seat.

right after we peed oursleves in front of her

the day

i realt hope she didn't tell the other kids
