Youtube daily report Nov 24 2018

hi everybody i'm paula and i'm going to be doing some more of your OCs today

and before I do though I want to make sure you sign up on my amino it is Paula

box art and if you want to get draw make sure you post up there and post a

picture see the description and you can see where all you can post but I am

going to be doing a really neat OC this time I'm gonna do a couple but the first

one is an OC by sugar cotton and it reminds me of a creepypasta

okay this OC even has a story with it which I really wanted to read you guys I

don't know if I'll have time to get through it all but the name is just any

rivers and oh my goodness this is so exciting all of the information the

nickname for this OC is Queen and look at the picture of her OC oh my gosh she

is so adorable I just love this OC I think it is so cool now the reason for

the nickname she gets mad if she isn't addressed as such so mad in fact that

she will brutally kill you that is scary okay and this is a female OC she likes

herself being in charge attention and killing okay this is definitely

creepypasta okay she doesn't like when she's not called princess I don't know

how much of this I can get through but she likes killing and being the center

of attention okay this is downright scary

backstory destiny was the second and final attempt by Adrienne rivers to

create a Diana clone he finally thought he would had the formula down for a

while everything was going great and to Stinney BK began to become very popular

on the web when the day came for descent his life did view Adrienne was very

excited but that excitement turned to regret when destiny began ridiculing her

own fans and calling them ugly freaks and then it goes on to say that she

wanted to be called Queen okay but guys make sure you go to the link in the

description so that you can read the entire story okay she told the girl that

she could make her beautiful as he had found a way to give normal humans

diaclone iasts features the girl agreed but when the experiment failed destiny

killed the girl oh my gosh draining her life force to make herself even more

beautiful so destiny just kept becoming more and more beautiful which is kind of

neat isn't it it's a neat idea but this story I thought it was so imaginative

and I really liked how they came up with this so when she became came home and

killed Adrienne due to lacking the ability to think for herself just any

easily convinced her to kill other people which of course isn't a good

thing please call me Queen destiny says she

has the voice of a small child which I don't ok I know I didn't sound like a

small child but oh my gosh okay so basically I have another OC called Diana

so this person has another OC who is a famous model and a dyke low Gnaeus who

doesn't know she is that colonias which is really neat she was adopted by

Molokai I think a modeling agent forces her into a carrier and doesn't give her

any freedom oh my gosh that sounds terrible that would be a terrible life

wouldn't it well anyway Malakai rival Adrienne okay when to make

someone just like Diana he tried at first with de cyclin but

failed he abandoned the cyclin in a dump all the sad then he tried once more

everything seemed to be fine but well you already know what happened so you

guys have to go read the story because I thought this was so cool and it sounds

like it's got sadness and scariness and you need to read the whole thing and

there's probably even more to it I skipped over something because I knew

that I wouldn't have time because you know I'm doing more than one OC in each

of these but make sure you go to the amino

I'll link to you know where this person is so you can go and read the story for

yourself and I think it's so cool and all

so I am pretty sure they have a YouTube and also if you see me do any OCS if

they if the person that I know has a YouTube I will go ahead and put the link

to it but if I'm not sure I'm sorry if I miss out on your YouTube but make sure

you go visit and say hi and everything and oh my gosh I just think it is so

cool that you guys do such neato C's and you come up with so much that is

interesting I don't know how you do it seriously you all have these really

artistic minds and some of you are probably going to become writers and

artists as you're older but anyway let's go to the next OC okay this one is Bai

Luo Beca up here on amino and I'll make sure that I link so make sure you check

on that please and look at the picture of her OC oh my gosh I thought this was

so adorable and what is really neat is that she says that this OC is based on

her personality and everything and I will tell you what all I know about it

by looking around up here on a me know because yeah I was stalking a little bit

and reading about it of course but anyway she does have a dog okay and she

says she tried to draw it so when you go visit you got to make sure you look she

has the cutest picture of that little dog so anyway okay I'm gonna get off

track but her dog is a shih tzu which I think those are so cute I'm not sure if

I said that right she has black hair and black eyes and her real life name starts

with C and s so I'm not sure what that is and thank you for who voted I'm not

sure what that is okay well let's go on down I'm at a place where it says my

personal OC and it's town a little bit about it and yes she do placate the

chibi versions because she says she's lazy no she's not lazy they're so cute

you've got to look at them oh my gosh she has some cute little chibis and all

kinds of thing okay the info for the OC is coral serene

or is it Caitlyn I'm not sure if I'm saying that right Kathlyn I'm probably

saying it wrong star she can't choose age 13 favorite hobbies

dogs drawing listen to music mostly nightcore play badminton I love that

chocolate cake oh gosh I love that play ukulele I definitely have never done

that so I can't say but I have played piano have any of you guys ever played

the piano I was not that good at it okay but I did it's not like I'm gifted but I

enjoyed it it was a lot of fun so anyway she also likes to watch anime which I

think a lot of you guys like to watch anime so you know comment below and let

me know you know what you have in common with her but anyway I thought that was

so cool so make sure you go to her immuno look at the pictures and

everything and I didn't I did not keep the eyes exactly totally black I did add

some like yellow highlights and orange and stuff because I was trying to make

it look like it was shiny her light was shining in it I'm not very good at that

yet and it's hard for me trying to work with black I don't know why do you have

trouble like trying to do black hair and make it look right I have a lot of

trouble with that I'm not sure why oh my gosh I guess I need a lot of practice

okay but anyway if you do want to get drawn make sure you get your pictures up

here on Amino because I am having a lot of fun drawing you guys Oh Sees I love

drawing Oh Sees I think it's so much fun and it's fun to look at them but her

character I thought it was so cute she's like got the cat the ears and the tail I

mean it looks like a cat to me I am not quite sure it could be a fantasy animal

but I think they're so cute with the ears and Tails oh my gosh just adorable

she did really good making her OC I think all you guys do

good I look at all you people to put in your OC so I'm like what am I gonna draw

oh my goodness there's so many good ones I just can't make up my mind and

hopefully y'all get drawn I'm gonna do my best I'm gonna keep doing them but as

you see I'm not that fast at them so you know I'll do what I can just be patient

and you know hopefully I get to you but at least get it up there you know

so when I search I see it I don't know I just love doing this and I think it's a

lot of fun so you have to let me know what you thought of these o C's okay I

thought they did so good drawing them and also before I get off I want to show

you guys an artist that is up on amino this is shift row art and I just loved

their artwork I'm going to link to their YouTube and their amino look at their

artwork it is like amazing they have like some speed paints even on their

YouTube and they're just really good at it and they're so talented so make sure

you sign up on their YouTube and everything and check out everybody's

pages I know I think it's so much fun to look around it everybody's art and you

guys are all so amazing but anyway guys I'm gonna go and remember if you want to

get drawing okay make sure that you tag paula blocks I think I forgot to tell

you at the beginning but make sure you tag me you know with the hashtag paula

blocks and i will talk to you guys later bye

Ninja Skills and Ninjutsu (ft. Antony Cummins) | Ninja Myths - Duration: 13:27.

And now for something completely different.

We have a special guests today guys and he promised to answer all your questions

about ninjas in the comments so leave lots of questions or just let us know if

you enjoyed the video.

He's a pretty prolific author but I'll let him introduce himself.

Hi everyone welcome to this video, I'm your host for today and

I'm Anthony Cummings.

I'm the official tourist ambassador for Wakayama

I'm an author and I'm a historical

researcher on the subject of ninja, shinobi, and the samurai of Japan.

Now what I'm gonna do today is take you through and tell you exactly what ninja

and ninjutsu is.

But we're doing this in support of my newest book which is this

one here and it's called Ninja Skills and it's by Watkins

Now this will tell

you all about the skills ninja used and it's based all of it is based on

original medieval documents

so you can get it by clicking the link below and

getting yourself a copy.

Now you may have heard you may have seen and especially

on this channel videos about "Did the ninja exist?" "Did they not exist?"

Well it depends how you define "ninja."

Originally they were called "shinobi no mono"

which is the same ideograms, it's just said in a different way.

The first appearance of

ninja comes in the year 1375 or around then when the Taiheiki was written and

it's the first time the word "shinobi" is used to reference somebody who does

something in stealth.

Now of course from there we get the Warring Period of Japan.

Now this is where the ninja come into their height and they're used the most.

However, we have next to no record of that, which makes people say,

"Oh, did they or didn't they exist?"

Now there are records from this date

however the records are contested because later on they were transcribed

or rewritten or added to or edited.

The problems that causes is they say,

"Okay they've changed some of the ideograms"

it changes so we can't count it.

But those documents do exist but they're not counted because they were in the wars

and there's lots of documents that are re-transcribed and they're just too old to

use and the originals are thrown away or burned.

That's why we have literally

nothing that talks about the ninja in that period.

But then you hit the period

of peace where everybody's writing and everybody's collecting information so

what we have is a really impressive document that appears in about 1612 to

1619 and it says the words.

It says "ninja,"

well "shinobi no mono," and it says shinobi are used.

They are used from

Iga, they are from Koka, it's called the

Gunpo Jiyoshu, and it was written by a

high-ranking retainer who had no interest in pushing forward the ninja myth.

He was not interested in that he wrote exactly what he did in the wars

and what was done and this was checked by none other than Tokugawa Ieyasu who said,

"This is a great book, let's give it to all my samurai."

So the first solid

evidence that is non-contested, nobody can say it's wrong comes from 1612

literally just after the wars and it says, this is a ninja, this is what they

do, and this is, you know, how they work.

So we know that shinobi existed in the

Warring States Period, but the problem is the information comes from just after it

and then we get this massive boost of information.

Thousands and thousands of

references to ninja, shinobi, and they all talk about you know they're from Iga

they're from Koka or they're from here or they do this, but they're usually not

written by ninja.

So where do we get the information for ninjutsu.

Now so the

kanji is here this is "ninja" or "shinobi no mono,"

which means person of stealth.

But then we get ninjutsu which is "skills of creeping" and "skills of stealth"

so where do we get this information from?

Well there's a collection of ninja scrolls in Japan.

They are either in public libraries, they're in private libraries,

or they're in personal collections.

However there are different various

levels and nearly all of them are from the Edo Period.

That's from about 1603 onwards,

and that's when people say,

"Oh maybe they didn't exist" because people will just write,

it's a period of peace, people are just writing it.

You know they write anything

so finding out what the ninja actually did is one of the most difficult tasks

because you have to check everything and check it against all the other ones.

Well this boils down to some of the main ninja scrolls.

So the first one, the biggest one, is called the Bansenshukai,

sometimes Mansenshukai.

Now this is the biggest ninja scroll that ever was.

It was written in 1676 and it goes through everything.

We've translated this into

English and it's over 500 pages long.

Now after this you get the Shoninki.

Now the Shoninki, which means True Account of the Shinobi, the Shoninki is a very

detailed, in-depth look at the ninja,

but it's very esoteric.

But it has been

used in Japan for a hundred years to outline what the shinobi are.

Now there's another one of what's considered the three great ninja manuals.

This is allegedly written by Hattori Hanzo in the 1500s, but lots of people dispute

that because they say, Oh Hattori Hanzo's too famous, or you know it becomes

problematic and they say, Oh that's not correct.

The problem is it comes in

multiple volumes and it is actually dated different dates on the volumes so

my theory is that what happened was in this family was passed on and people

wrote different things and it was later put together.

The best version we've got

for a beginner in ninjutsu is actually a set of scrolls from Chikamatsu Shigenori

Now Chikamatsu Shigenori was alive

in the 1700s and he was a samurai and he was like,

"Okay, I need to record this ninja information."

So he went and studied both Iga ninja and Koka ninja and

what he did, he studied from them and studied their ninjutsu and he wrote it all down.

Well actually, he wrote 70% down and he said the other 30% remained oral tradition.

He is one of our best examples of ninjutsu because he's got no reason

to lie about it he just goes in and says I'm gonna take from two ninja

masters, pull them together, and find out, you know, exactly what ninjutsu is.

So what is ninjutsu?

It's very very difficult to actually say what ninjutsu is.

It's more of an intent.

But it does have a set of skills.

So shinobi no mono in Japan

is a person from any social level, they can be local thieves,

they can be foot soldiers,

they can be samurai,

they can be high-ranking samurai,

and each one of them, if they are pushed into the world of the ninja

or they do a job as a ninja, even if it's temporarily,

they become shinobi no mono, they become ninja.

But each one of them has a different form of job to do.

So if you go to battle and you go on to a military campaign and you go

into enemy areas, what you do is you find the local thieves and you say to them,

"Instead of stealing from our man, instead of breaking into our camp, or instead of

breaking in back home,

join us, we'll give you money and you go and thieve from the enemy.

Go and attack the enemy household, go and make a problem.

So you get your local thieves or bandits to become shinobi and they go out and do

their job, they get paid for it and they steal and they're very happy.

But ancient documents tell us that you don't mind these people because if they die, nobody cares.

And that they're not robbing from you, they're robbing from the enemy,

which is great.

Next you get foot soldiers, now these guys they will go band together

and if they're trained in the ways of the ninja they'll go into the enemy

castles, they'll grappling-hook over, they'll do night raids, they'll do ambushes.

Now of course then you get people who are specialized,

they've got only one job and that's a warrior, and they're samurai, and they're

from a shinobi family, they're from a family that studied shinobi full-time.

Now these guys are brilliant.

These are the guys who have learned everything they can.

They are very intelligent, they speak multiple dialects, they're

good at disguise, they've got good memory

they're robust, it says that a shinobi should look stupid but be robust,

meaning that they can survive nights in the wilderness, they can sit in the snow for

days, and then when people see them they like, Oh he looks stupid you know big ears

and often nobody cares.

He pretends to be an idiot, nobody cares.

But inside he's very clever and he's capturing everything that's being said.

Now shinobi no jutsu, the Way of the Shinobi, divides into two sections, you get

IN no shinobi, which means shinobi of the dark,

and YO no shinobi, shinobi of the light.

General terms, this means in no shinobi means those who do

everything you imagine, they're creeping, they set fires, they kill people, they

kill guards, they get over walls, they're digging under, they're creating tunnels

they're doing all this type of thing to get into the enemy.

Now shinobi of the light

are those who go in disguise, they change their hairline, they change their facial

hair, they put things in their mouth to look different, they dye their teeth, they

will starve themselves a week on end, they'll cover themselves in crap, they'll

do all sorts of stuff just to walk among the enemy and not be seen by them.

You know, not be like a threat.

Or these shinobi of the light also will go and work in

the enemy area for years in advance.

They'll become shopkeepers,

they'll become samurai on the enemy payroll, they'll become you know hired by the

enemy, and then when war comes they will not be thrown out because everybody's

used to, you know, Bob at the corner who sells like sweets to children

everybody's used to him so they just leave him where he is, because his Lord

knew they were gonna go to war in two years so he puts him in place.

To counter this, many people say get rid of them anybody who's not been there as a

generational retainer get rid of them.

They say to stop ninjas infiltrating,

instead of spending on gold and luxury items, just hire your solid standing army

and make sure they stay there, otherwise you're always going to get a ninja,

so what we've got there is two types of ninjutsu, two types of shinobi no jutsu.

You've got disguise and infiltration.

Now the disguised people learn how to change

their appearance, they learn how to do different dialects and blend in, they

learn all the local spots of all the different areas, they have a great

capacity for mental imagery, they will map how everything in their mind go home

and write it down, they have great memory, they copy

handwriting, they will learn the different ways that the different Lords

speak or what they say so that when they make fake letters they can use the same

words that they would use so it looks plausible, and they bring all this

information back to headquarters.

Now the other guys, the ninja of the dark, they are skilled in different things.

They could swim really well, they can

climb walls really well, they have a great knowledge of burglary, breaking and

entering, lock-picking, sawing, they can as I said dig under things, they know

how to poison dogs or how to befriend dogs, they track the moon in the sky

and they check when is the best time to infiltrate, they listen for people

snoring, they check for example how much work has been done.

If it's a hot day and

people have been working really hard they'll infiltrate, but if the day is

cool and people have not been working hard, they'll stand back and they're

masters of fire tools, they love fire.

They've got explosives, they've got tars,

they've got lots of things to bring about destruction on the enemy or ways

to infiltrate them.

So when we look at shinobi of history, what you're looking

at, guys, is a collection of people from different levels of society who will

then fit into different jobs inside of the samurai army and at different times

they go out.

Before war, the people who have planted at agents go out.

Just before war, just before you send out long-distance scouts and shinobi.

In the war, the shinobi check just past the horizon to make sure that nothing bad is

going to happen.

They go further than the scouts, and when you get to the enemy

castle or the enemy fortifications or camp, those are the people that creep in

at night, set fire, burn it down while everybody else jumps in and attacks.

That is basically what shinobi do.

Now I hope you enjoyed the video.

Please if you

want to know how to perform shinobi no jutsu, ninjutsu, get a copy of the book

which is Ninja Skills and if you'd like to follow me there's some links below

and of course here on the screen are my details.

I'm very happy and very

privileged to have been your host today for this video and I'm excited to look

at your comments.

I'm gonna read them all and I'll answer when I can.

Thank you very much guys and hopefully I'll see you again in a different video.

Hey I hope you all enjoyed that.

I have some minor disagreements with Antony Cummins

about the ninja myth, but I mostly agree with him.

I'll have a post

for patrons on the Patreon page soon with some inside baseball.

Check out the link in the description to Antony's latest book called Ninja Skills which

contains what the ninja manuals written in the Edo Period said about ninja

techniques and such, and there are pictures.

Some fun stuff in there if you're interested.

Please please please leave some

questions in the comments and let me know if you liked this collab.

Much love, guys.

Now go out there and spread the knowledge.

Hyundai Kona Electric vs. Chevrolet Bolt EV: Which Is the Best Affordable Long-Range EV? | Edmunds - Duration: 17:41.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

DAN EDMUNDS: Prevailing wisdom suggests

that an electric vehicle needs more than 200 miles of range

to stave off range anxiety and make it useful for more

than just commuting.

But until now, there's only been one affordable example.

The Chevrolet Bolt EV brings 238 miles of range to the table.

But now there's a new Hyundai Kona Electric

with 258 miles of range.

KURT NIEBUHR: Which of these vehicles is better?

Are these finally the affordable EVs

that everybody's been waiting for?

Before we answer that, make sure you subscribe to our channel,

and visit Edmunds.com to help find your next vehicle,

electric or otherwise.

DAN EDMUNDS: When I first proposed this test

in the office, everybody said, why are you putting a Bolt up

against a crossover SUV?

Well, the Kona electric isn't really that much of an SUV.

I mean, it's only got front-wheel drive.

There's no all-wheel drive version.

KURT NIEBUHR: And the Chevy's just kind of a tall hatchback

anyway, and it's front-wheel drive too.

I mean, these things are pretty close on paper,

when you look at the specs.

DAN EDMUNDS: Oh, yeah, the wheelbase is identical.

And the Kona is only about a half inch longer.

And both of them have 150 kilowatt electric motors.

Chevy says theirs is good for 200 horsepower.

Hyundai's number is 201 horsepower.

But I'll give it to them, because their electric motor

makes more torque.

KURT NIEBUHR: These things do not look the same at all.

DAN EDMUNDS: No, no, the Kona Electric

is both lower and wider than the Bolt, some SUV, right?

KURT NIEBUHR: People around the office are asking,

why didn't you guys include the Leaf?

Why didn't you include the Model 3?

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, the Bolt has 238 miles of range.

And the Kona Electric has 258 miles of range.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, the Leaf's 150 is just way too short.

DAN EDMUNDS: Right.

As for the Model 3, the $35,000 version,

with 220 miles of range, they're not making it.

I mean, we can't compare these two vehicles

to something that doesn't exist.

KURT NIEBUHR: Nah, that's just vaporware.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, really.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

KURT NIEBUHR: So what are we looking at?

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, at the moment, a whole lot of plastic.

But up in here is the electric motor

that drives the front wheels.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, I can just see it up there.

DAN EDMUNDS: Right.

We move back and there's this big aluminum expanse, the width

of the car, really long.

This is the battery pack.

65 kilowatt hours of storage, that's

like gallons to a gas tank.

And that's what gives this car 258 miles of range.

KURT NIEBUHR: It's so flat.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, the smoothness of this battery pack

and the plastic ahead of it contributes

to a 14% reduction in drag compared to a regular Kona.

KURT NIEBUHR: That's a lot.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, it's not nothing.

And we move back here, and we see

a really nice multi-link suspension,

which gives this car really good ride and handling.

And also makes room for the battery pack

to be as big as it possibly can be.

KURT NIEBUHR: So I imagine that the Chevrolet looks

exactly the same underneath.

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, maybe.

KURT NIEBUHR: So we're under the Chevy

and there's a lot of black plastic underneath here too.

DAN EDMUNDS: Absolutely, but trust me,

there's an electric motor up in there

that drives the front wheel, just like the Kona.

We move back, and we see, this is the battery pack.

But it looks different.

It's narrower.

It's not as long.

But it's almost as big, at 60 kilowatt hours,

238 miles of range.

So it's got to be taller, which might be why the Bolt has

the roofline that it has.

KURT NIEBUHR: It's also not very smooth under here.

DAN EDMUNDS: No, it's not.

It doesn't look like they paid nearly as much attention

to smoothing the airflow underneath here.

We move back and we see something different here too.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, this suspension

does not look anything like the suspension that's

in the Hyundai.

DAN EDMUNDS: No, this is a basic twist beam rear

axle, which is really pretty cheap and inexpensive.

It was popular in compact cars.

But it's not the most sophisticated suspension

for ride and handling.

It'll be interesting to see how the two compare when we start

driving them back to back.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: They might not be the same at all.

KURT NIEBUHR: I can't wait to find out.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

So both of these have plenty of space

if you fold the seats down.

But they have a lot of range, so you can go somewhere

with the family.

So you might have four people in this.

Where are you going to put the luggage?

Will it fit?

KURT NIEBUHR: I don't like how that kind of rides

on the plastic trim back there.

DAN EDMUNDS: It's a little bit tight.

What about third one?

KURT NIEBUHR: The third one, we're going to have to put it--

DAN EDMUNDS: No choice there.

KURT NIEBUHR: It's easy enough, but will it shut.

DAN EDMUNDS: Oh, actually pretty easily.

No problem.

KURT NIEBUHR: But we can lower the floor.

DAN EDMUNDS: Oh, yeah, that's right.

And it's a pretty dramatic change.

Oh, look at that.

You can stand these things up.

Easy.

KURT NIEBUHR: There we go.

On the Kona--

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, you can already

see that the floor's longer here.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, there's more room.

DAN EDMUNDS: More width too.

KURT NIEBUHR: You can probably shove that one in.

DAN EDMUNDS: I think so.

KURT NIEBUHR: And it shut.

DAN EDMUNDS: Not a problem.

You can also lower the floor as well.

KURT NIEBUHR: Oh, yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: It's not as deep.

But it might do the job Yeah, this stands up.

There out the line of sight.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: If you don't want to drop the basement,

this has a little more space.

But if you do, there's really not a big difference.

Wow, who was driving this thing.

KURT NIEBUHR: I was.

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, I got to bring it back.

Are you OK?

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, I'm OK.

DAN EDMUNDS: How's that.

KURT NIEBUHR: It's OK, you can go back a little farther.

I'm actually happy back here.

I've got enough room for my legs.

I got enough room for my feet.

I even have a heated seat.

Let's go check out the Hyundai.

DAN EDMUNDS: All right.

Oh, I'm going to have to bring this one back big time.

KURT NIEBUHR: This isn't so bad back here.

Oh, what are you doing.

DAN EDMUNDS: I got to bring it back.

KURT NIEBUHR: Oh, I hate you.

Oh, my god.

OK.

DAN EDMUNDS: That's a power seat, though.

The other one wasn't.

KURT NIEBUHR: There's less leg room back here than in the Bolt

by quite a bit.

DAN EDMUNDS: You think?

KURT NIEBUHR: My feet are starting to go numb.

Could you move this forward?

I can't get out.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Now comes the fun part.

DAN EDMUNDS: We've left town, and we're in the mountains,

and we're going to go up to Crystal Lake.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, and because we have plenty of range,

we don't have to worry about range

and we're not going to talk about ranch.

DAN EDMUNDS: Right, we can think about the normal things

that people think about, ride, handling,

steering, braking, how fun are these things to drive.

KURT NIEBUHR: Let's find out.

DAN EDMUNDS: Let's take the Bolt.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Wow, these roads are pretty incredible.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, they really are.

DAN EDMUNDS: What's not incredible is this seat.

It feels like I'm sitting on a seat frame.

It's really narrow.

I'm sitting on it, rather than in it.

KURT NIEBUHR: I think I'm overlapping

on the side of the seat.

And I'm with you.

My upper back, my shoulders are not happy with the seat.

DAN EDMUNDS: The driving position is good, but the seat

itself just feels too small.

The interior just feels kind of cheap.

It just does not have really attractive materials.

I wish they'd put a little bit more money in the seats

and the interior panels.

KURT NIEBUHR: The one thing that's

really prominent in my eyes, and it's literally in my eyes,

is how bright and light the interior is.

Because there's a lot of shiny or light plastics, which now

we're in shade, and it's great.

But as soon as we come back through the sun,

like reflections flicker off the windscreen.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, the angle of the windshield

is just about perfectly wrong, because it's reflects the--

every detail of the top of the dash back into my eyes.

It's like I need sunglasses just for that.

But that is an option.

I suggest that you get the darkest one they sell.

KURT NIEBUHR: You'd have to.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, absolutely.

You know what's really cool about this car,

the driving position is great.

I mean, the telescopic steering wheel's right where I need it.

I feel I can see out really well, other than the glare.

And the re-gen on this thing, using the motor's magnetism

to slow the car, is really easy.

You just flip the shifter and it goes into L.

And now, when you lift off the throttle, you're slowing down

and you're not touching the brake pedal.

And it's really kind of fun.

It's not kind of fun, it is fun.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: I got to get on a little bit of breaks

for this tight hairpin, but--

yeah, the tires, they make a little noise.

KURT NIEBUHR: We might be having fun,

but the tires don't sound like they're having fun.

DAN EDMUNDS: Low rolling resistance.

But that doesn't mean low fun.

Because this thing really changes direction really well.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: And I have really good control of the car's entry

speed because of the lift throttle re-gen

It's really kind of neat.

Yeah, these seats though, they're--

[TIRES SQUEALING]

Listen to that.

What was I saying?

All right, I guess it's your turn to drive, right?

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

I'm absolutely with you on the seating position.

I can get comfortable in this car very quickly.

I like the range the steering wheel moves towards you.

The seat is very adjustable.

DAN EDMUNDS: It just isn't nice to sit on.

KURT NIEBUHR: It's not a comfortable seat.

DAN EDMUNDS: No.

KURT NIEBUHR: This could be the like worst

seat I think I've sat in that's on sale today.

Now I get to make the most of this car's torque.

DAN EDMUNDS: Oh.

KURT NIEBUHR: All EVs make torque right

from zero miles an hour.

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, it's not just that.

This thing's got 200 horsepower.

I mean, we can't forget that.

KURT NIEBUHR: No, and it's actually fun to drive.

It's not sloppy.

DAN EDMUNDS: That's a tight hairpin.

And that's a skinny tire.

KURT NIEBUHR: That's a skinny tire.

But I have to tell you that I'm not using the brake

pedal, I'm just using the re-gen of the throttle pedal,

because it's so intuitive.

Back off a little bit to slow down, twist it to speed up.

DAN EDMUNDS: And you know, the body isn't rolling a whole lot.

I mean it's rolling some, but any car would on this road.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: But that's probably because the battery's

under the floor, so the center of gravity of this thing

is really low.

KURT NIEBUHR: I will say that I feel

like I'm sitting more on top of the car

than in the car, which creates more of a sensation of speed.

Like I feel like I shouldn't be driving the car this fast, even

though the car feels just fine.

DAN EDMUNDS: The cal is really low.

The seating position's a little high,

because you've got the battery under your backside.

Just needs some sticker tires I think.

KURT NIEBUHR: This is way too much fun

for an electric vehicle.

So what's your opinion of the Bolt?

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, I like driving it.

I mean, the steering, the handling.

It's got plenty of power, they regenerate

braking is really fun, actually even on a challenging

road like this.

I just don't like the interior, the seats, the way

the dash is put together.

I'm not a fan of that.

But to drive it, it's great.

KURT NIEBUHR: I completely agree with you.

And you must not buy the light colored interior.

DAN EDMUNDS: Exactly.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Oh man, right away, I love this seat.

It looks good, and it's wide, and it's comfortable.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, we are definitely not in the Bolt

anymore.

DAN EDMUNDS: Exactly, and we're a little further apart.

This cabin is wide and spacious too.

And look at the materials.

This thing looks nice.

KURT NIEBUHR: I feel more surrounded.

I feel like I'm sitting in the car.

DAN EDMUNDS: Right.

KURT NIEBUHR: Whereas, in the bolt,

I felt like I was kind of higher up, kind of perched.

DAN EDMUNDS: And the controls are really nicely laid out.

There's the touchscreen, air conditioning, shifter,

and these are the heated and ventilated seat controls.

KURT NIEBUHR: I've got vent--

I'm going to use mine.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, right?

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: This also has a sunroof.

The Bolt didn't have one of those.

KURT NIEBUHR: No.

DAN EDMUNDS: And the Bolt is the premier.

It is the top of the line offering.

This is the ultimate, which is also

the top of the line offering.

Its more ultimate.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yep.

Something else that's glaringly obvious

is the distinct lack of glare.

Now, this is still a light colored interior,

but I'm not getting blinded by shiny plastic bits.

DAN EDMUNDS: Right, right, I agree.

And as the driver, I appreciate it.

The other thing I'm noticing is going into that last corner

and some of these other ones, the regenerative braking just

isn't quite as powerful as it is in the Bolt.

KURT NIEBUHR: That was a squirrel.

DAN EDMUNDS: Squirrel.

I do have three settings.

I can adjust it with a paddle here.

But I set it to the max and wish I had one more step.

You know, this car really feels more substantial.

It's wider and it feels like it has

a wider footprint on the road.

It's a little bit more composed.

The tires don't feel like they're working as hard.

It's not squealing as much.

It's really nicely balanced.

I mean, the Bolt wasn't unbalanced, it wasn't bad.

But this just feels better.

And even there, on that really tight corner,

a little hint of squeal, but nothing

like the Bolt generated.

KURT NIEBUHR: The bolt was a little vocal.

DAN EDMUNDS: Yeah, the transitions feel real nice.

The multi-link rear suspension over twist beam,

I think we're feeling a little bit of a benefit here.

KURT NIEBUHR: I'd say so far, I feel less movement.

DAN EDMUNDS: It's almost like this road is a smoother road

than when it was in the Bolt.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah.

DAN EDMUNDS: Oh, wow.

KURT NIEBUHR: That was way better.

No arguing that, the Kona electric rides better.

DAN EDMUNDS: I just wish I could get

a little bit more lift throttle re-gen in these corners.

It's just not quite there.

The steering in this car feels pretty good.

When I drove it in town, I thought, it's a little light,

it doesn't feel as distinct on center as the Bolt.

And that's true.

But when we get up here in these corners,

it loads up a bit nicer than it does on the street.

I still think the Bolt's steering feel

is a little better, but this is better than it was in the city.

KURT NIEBUHR: So when am I going to get to drive?

DAN EDMUNDS: Right about now.

If you listen closely, there's that--

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, I think it gets

louder when you start moving.

DAN EDMUNDS: Listen to that, that's awesome.

KURT NIEBUHR: You're right, right away

the car feels more solid.

It isn't that the Bolt feels the least bit flimsy.

It's just I like the way this car feels.

I agree with you on the steering feel.

It is a little light, but I like the way

this feels through the corner.

And I also like the fact that it has wider tires on it as well.

It's very noticeable.

There's not the tires squeal that the Bolt had.

DAN EDMUNDS: It has the power.

It's just the matter of not having as much power?

KURT NIEBUHR: No.

DAN EDMUNDS: That's not it.

KURT NIEBUHR: The power feels more robust.

And the Bolt does not feel like it's lacking for power.

DAN EDMUNDS: No.

KURT NIEBUHR: But the Kona makes that power available to you.

DAN EDMUNDS: This has about the same horsepower,

201 versus 200.

Let's call it equal.

But it makes more torque, about 30 more pound feet

than the Bolt. So I think that's what you're feeling coming out

of these corners.

KURT NIEBUHR: I'll second what you said

about the interior of this car.

I feel like I'm sitting in a more regular car.

Because the Kona Electric is also a regular Kona,

it's the same car.

And the Bolt was built just to be an EV.

DAN EDMUNDS: Right.

Which usually would make the Bolt a better EV, because it's

purpose built. But this doesn't feel

like they've made any sacrifices to make an electric car

version.

Just look at the way the battery is mounted underneath,

as we saw yesterday.

It's just so well integrated into the chassis.

KURT NIEBUHR: You're right about the re-gen.

I wish it was a little bit more aggressive.

We have it set at the maximum.

We both seem to prefer the way that the Bolt handles it.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

DAN EDMUNDS: Well, that was fun.

KURT NIEBUHR: That was really fun.

DAN EDMUNDS: I mean, why wouldn't it be?

These are compact hatchbacks with 200 horsepower.

KURT NIEBUHR: Yeah, and we said we wouldn't talk about range.

We're still not going to talk about range.

Because we both have over half a charge left.

DAN EDMUNDS: And we're at 5,000 feet.

It's downhill most of the way home.

Things are only going to get better.

So let's go.

KURT NIEBUHR: Let's go.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

DAN EDMUNDS: So which of these two EVs is the right one?

First, we have to talk pricing.

We don't know exactly what the Kona Electric costs just yet.

But sources say the base model's price will

come in close to that of the base Bolt.

And we know with certainty that the Kona

will be better equipped.

But here's another point to consider.

Chevrolet is about to cross the phase

out threshold for federal tax credit eligibility.

The Bolt's $7,500 tax credit will shrink by half to $3,750

early next year.

Then shrink again to $1,875 six months after that.

In just over a year, it'll be down to zero.

Hyundai, on the other hand, is just

getting started with EV sales.

The Kona electric will qualify for the full $7,500

tax credit for years to come.

There's a lot to like about these cars.

Both are more fun to drive than you might expect.

They're practically hot hatchbacks.

And you can go places and be spontaneous,

because each offers enough range to make them useful for more

than just commuting.

We like the Bolt for its superior regenerative

braking and more generous rear leg room.

But the clear winner here is the Hyundai Kona Electric

on the strength of its more sophisticated ride

and handling, nicer interior, and longer list

of standard and optional features.

The extra 20 miles of range it offers is merely a bonus.

The images you will see are the images of the psychic Vicka in Medjugorje

speaking to the crowds ...

That's it, I have a big question ... How Heaven goes to strengthen the faith?

there must be several ways ... the one that I know and that I live ... it's

make the person doubt that she is fighting so as not to lose faith ... and struggling

she strengthens her faith. Mary in Medjugorje, we know it, prepares us for secrets, I

want to clarify right away, the secrets are not a preparation at the end of

time ... there are secrets that are the current consequences of our sins and

there are also some secrets that are positive ... Mary prepares us for secrets and we

prepares for the church of Mary ...

The Church of Mary is not a new religion ... the church of Mary is

to love Jesus as Mary ... and to remain faithful to Jesus even when everything seems lost ...

... so now Mary is strengthening our trust in her and in Jesus by making us

to doubt ... so that with force we hang up to hope ...

Sometimes there are saints who are angry or jealous ... It's rather weird for

Holy people ... In reality Heaven prepares these people to have a character

opposite to the one they had on earth ... I explain myself ... someone who has been

angry will fight all his life to get to calm down ... and at the moment of death he will lose

his angry side because leaving his body we lose everything that is related to the body and the

anger is part of it and it will remain this great ability to control himself ... so

he will become very calm ...

Top 10 Scary Urban Legends That Are Actually True - Duration: 10:19.

This is going to be fun.

Ive done so many Urban Legends videos now and you know what makes some better than others

- if theres some truth to them.

Suddenly - its not just a made up story, its something that could be true - and that doubt

- that slight bit of uncertainty - well I think that makes it even scarier.

These are 10 of the very best.

My name is Danny Burke and this is the Top 10 Urban Legends That Are Actually True.

Starting off at number 10 we have Cropsey[a].

Some of you guys may have heard me talk about this one before.

Its the story of the boogeyman of Staten Island.

He was rumored to be a homicidal maniac who escaped from a mental asylum.

He would hunt for children and drag them back to the ruins of a hospital where he lived.

Witnesses always said he had a hook for a hand.

The stories were meant to scare kids - perhaps even told to them by parents who wanted them

to be more wary of strangers.

Then, in the 1972, the boogeyman became real.

New broke of a real life Corpsey man called Andre Rand.

He was a former janitor at the local school for mentally disabled children.

Rand was arrested in connection with the disappearance of Jennifer Schweiger, a 12 year old girl

with Down Syndrome.

He lost his job over the case and move into the now abandoned school he used to work in.

He was eventually convicted of murder and police connected him to the disappearances

of 4 other children, no bodies were ever recovered.

Moving on to number 9 now we have The Bunny Man[b].

I talked about this legend in my West Virginia video.

The story goes that in 1904, a mental asylum closed down.

While transferring inmates to a new facility, one of the buses crashed.

Most of them were killed or captured - but one escaped - the Bunny Man.

He would roam the land hunting rabbits and then leaving their carcases for the locals

to find - sometimes they would be hanging from a tree or bridge.

Although there are parts of the story that don't add up - something strange happened

in 1970.

A couple driving their car at night had an axe thrown through their window by a man in

a bunny suit.

2 weeks later, another man found an ax wielding guy in a bunny suit chopping wood nearby who

was gone by the time police arrived.

Are they linked?

Is there more truth to this than meets the eye?

Moving on to number 8 we have The Body Under The Bed[c].

Ever since hotels and motels became a common part of society - people have swapped stories

about guests who discovered mattress they were sleeping on was either above or even

stuffed with the body of a murder victim.

A grizzly tale for sure, but one that was confined to the realms of myths and legends.

Then, in 1999 - a case in Colorado occurred involving a couple who slept on a mattress

containing a body.

The police kept the details of that close to their chest, but 2010, a huge story broke

when guests at a Memphis motel discovered they had been sleeping above the body of Sony

Millbrook - a missing person at the time.

Her boyfriend LaKeith Moody was convicted of the crime.

Many people were horrified, and vowed to give their hotel beds a closer inspection next

time …

Next up at the number 7 spot we have The Maine Robber[d].

For many years, visitors to Maines North Pond area reported that something strange was going

on there.

Time after time, people reported that things were going missing.

Not just one person, one time - many people, many times.

Batteries and food would vanish from cabins while flashlights disappeared from camping

tents.

People thought that either the Earth itself was swallowing it up or there was a thief

at work.

It turns out, they were right - in 2013, a game warden discovered Christopher Knight

living alone in the woods.

For 27 years, he had been watching hikers, canoeists and other visitors to the area.

When taken in for questioning, Knight admitted he was responsible for around 40 robberies

a year.

I mean, stealing batteries is one thing - but I think feel like you were being watched all

those years and then being proven right?

- Thats pretty creepy …

At the number 6 spot now we have The Falling Lawyer[e].

Ive lived in Toronto for a few years now and Ive personally heard this story floating around

- but I never thought it was true - until now.

They say that years ago, there was a lawyer who loved to show off how strong his office

windows were in his building that overlooked the city.

Every time someone came to visit, he would take a long run up - jump - and hurl himself

in the window.

Sure enough, the window would remain intact - although well never know if this impressed

his visitors.

Well, this lawyer was real and his name was Garry Hoy.

He was a senior partner at his firm with an office on the 24th floor.

On July 9th 1993, some Law Students came to visit.

He took his usual leap at the window but this time, after years of being weakened - it smashed.

Garry plummeted to his death - and the improbable story became somewhat of a local myth …

Next up at number 5 we have the Pueblas Secrets[f].

For many years, longer than people can even remember - the people of Puebla in Mexico

have talked about the tunnels - secret tunnels that were built under the city by the Spanish

Conquistadors in the 1500s.

Its been almost half a millennia since then, and the stories became legend.

People looked, but they found nothing - the tunnels became a myth - something to scare

the kids into believing there was a dark maze of caverns beneath them.

In 2014, construction workers were in the middle of an urban remodeling project when

they stumbled upon an old tunnel.

Surely the legends werent true - the Puebla History Center took over the site to investigate

and yes, it was the fabled tunnels people had spoken about.

They determined the tunnels were built in 1531, right after the city was founded.

Members of the Catholic church used the tunnels to transport treasure and other property in

and out of the city without people knowing about it.

Parts of the tunnels are now open to the public, giving you the chance to walk through the

dark halls of an urban legend that came true …

Coming in at number 4 now we have The Alligators[g].

I talked about this one in our New York Urban Legends video.

Many years ago in New York, people would say that there were alligators in the sewers below

the city.

They said a young boy once flushed his pet alligator down the toilet.

Years later, he reached into the sewer grate to retrieve a lost baseball.

At that moment, a fully grown alligator leapt up from below and ripped off his arm - the

same alligator he had flushed away.

Many people dismissed the whole story, alligators in New York?

How crazy.

However, in 1959, Teddy May, the commissioner of New York during the time of the rumours,

wrote about the alligators in his book.

He said that he and his inspectors did find alligators in the New York sewers in 1935,

they were up to 2ft inside.

It took 2 years for them to clear them all out, more than enough time for the facts to

get blurred with fiction …

Moving on to number 3 we have have The Dog Boy[h].

For many people in Arkansas, they know the stories of the dog boy.

Kids swap stories of a werewolf like man who roams around the town of Quitman.

Some even say theyve seen him - many of them might not know that the story is based on

real life.

Gerald Bettis was born in Quitman in 1954.

By the time he was a young boy, the neighbours called him evil - they said he liked to capture

stray animals and torture them in twisted experiments.

As he got older, he turned on his parents - tormenting them until, at the age of 27,

his dead was found dead in his home.

The newspapers said it was illness but others said it was murder.

Berris then kept his mother in the house until she was placed in protective custody.

His mother testified against him and he was given life in prison, where he died a few

years later.

They say that his spirit still haunts that house - and that he's often seen roaming the

area as a ghost on all fours, with shaggy hair like a dog.

At the number 2 spot now we have Charlie No Face[i].

Some of you may have heard me talk about this one in my Pennsylvanian video.

Charlie no face is the story of a boy called Charlie who once got electrocuted while climbing

an electric pole to try and see into a birds nest.

He was horrifically disfigured, his face has practically melted off, eyes, nose, mouth,

one of his ears and one of his arms - all gone.

It also turned his skin a sickly green.

Somehow, he survived and lived out his life in the small town, rarely showing his face

to the other locals.

People would share the story of Charlie No Face but because nobody saw him, the story

began nothing more than an urban myth.

But it wasnt - the story was actually true - except for the name.

Charlies real name was Raymond Robinson.

He was friendly to people whenever they did see him, and wasnt responsible for the many

hauntings associated with the legend …

And finally at number 1 we have Polybius[j].

You may remember this from my Video Game Urban Legends video.

Polybius was the name of an arcade game which kids in Portland got addicted to in 1981.

Whenever they were forced off, they felt nauseous, stressed or even had seizures.

Some people noticed the game was being serviced a lot more than usual - instead of once a

month, Polybius was being checked by men in black suits every week.

They would copy its hard drive, leave the money and be gone until the next week.

People believed that they were from the CIA and that Polybius was all part of a mind control

programme that sent subliminal messages to the players.

While a lot of this is debatable, there really was a kid who got sick during an arcade marathon

contest in Portland in 1981.

A few days later, federal agents really did seize a load of arcade cabinets - they said

it was all part of a major gambling bust.

This is where people differ in opinion, some say that the story of Polybius was inspired

by the events, others say the events are proof of the story …

Urban Legends and truth - together, they make something better than either of them.

Is this the start of a series?

Shall we look at more creepy urban legends that have their stories rooted in true events?

Or shall we just keep doing out world tour of urban legends?

Is this going to split the viewers in half?

Well find out in the comments section, thanks for watching as always guys, my name is Danny

Burke and Ill see you all in the next video!

Mike 'The Instigation' Reflects on His Past | Jersey Shore: Family Vacation | MTV - Duration: 4:09.

Salud. He got us home safe.

I mean, we have a designation,

but you were the instigation first,

before you were the designation.

Yeah, enough with all that sappy (bleep),

let's watch Mike being a scumbag.

Cut to season one.

Oh, for real?

I can only imagine when there's no bad guy.

Who's gonna be the bad guy? Situation, no problem.

He was up to something.

I was always up to something.

You were, always.

Mike is always hooking up with the same girls

I'm hooking up with.

I committed the robbery.

Ew! Why did you always take his girls?

Mike used to be the creep.

Robbery.

I was like, you know what,

Vinny was trying to rob my little chick.

I was like, you know what,

I'm gonna teach him a lesson right now.

Vinny!

Oh! That's right!

Yo, Mike straight up took your chick, bro.

I don't know, he was going at me with my sister.

Your sister.

Me and Snooki, we kinda hooked up.

Like, what the (bleep) is going on?

Dude! What is wrong with you?

What?

You're telling everybody that I cheated on Jionni with you.

Why would you even say that?

Yo, this clip is extra long.

Ooh, this is when we fight.

We had a lot of instigations.

This is when we fight.

Stop getting in my business, you (bleep)

Stop (bleep)

getting in my business, you (bleep)!

Whoa!

I hate myself. (bleep)

Stop! Stop! I'm not even kidding, Mike!

(Bleep) you! (Bleep) you!

He was dodging that

(bleep) like the matrix.

Jesus, I didn't-

(Bleep) you, Mike! I didn't.

Mike, I'm not kidding! Aah!

Whoa!

It was real up in the battlefield.

I'm so sorry. You went out of your way.

Ronnie was so funny last night.

He's like, "Watch what happens, bro," he's like,

"I got like, five girls coming to the house right now."

You went out of your way in Italy to just be a brat.

I don't have anything to do with your relationship, Ron!

Mike always has to cross that line.

We had squashed a beef,

but Mike likes to start problems.

Like, he was just drunk.

He didn't know what was going on.

This fight actually was scary between you two.

That was the most intimidating ... yeah.

Let's do it!

Get the bleep) up bro!

What are you talking-

You're such a (bleep) tough guy.

What are you talking about?

It's always (bleep) behind my

(bleep) back what I did to Sam.

What are you talking about?

Don't get involved in my (bleep)

relationship! I'm sick of this!

Yeah, you wanna hit me? You wanna hit me?

You wanna hit me? You wanna hit me, tough guy?

You wanna (bleep) do it? You wanna do it?

(bleep)!

Oh, I hated this fight.

This is so scary. Ooh!

(Bleep)!

Stop! Aww!

That was a mistake.

Oh my God!

In hindsight, I should've at least like,

inched over to the wall, and just like, dink dink.

Tap it with your hands.

Little tap, and like, is this sheet rock?

No. No, this is cement.

You should've headbutted Ronnie, he would've expected that.

Exactly!

As much as I'd have to say that hitting the wall

was very unpleasant,

it turned out to be a turning point in my life

'cause I eventually went to rehab a couple months later,

and it was the first time that I wanted to make a change in life.

I thought that the old me wasn't working,

and I needed to find a new way,

and now I'm here today, three years clean and sober.

And I'm so grateful that I have every single

one of you guys in my life today.

We're grateful that we have you.

Absolutely. I like the designation way better.

Well listen, it was a different Mike back then.

Yes, a different Mike.

Proud of you.

Yo, (bleep) Mike.

Don't go anywhere.

There's plenty more Friendsgiving coming up.

I love you, Mike!

wonderful who knows all I know is that um I feel better when I help someone in

some way and I don't have much means to help people I know a little bit of

things I've learned a few things so maybe with that I can help some of you

HOW TO INCREASE YOUR FAITH? ... THE SON OF GOD ... MEDJUGORJE ... RELIGION ... MARIE - Duration: 3:19.

The Son of God shed a tear ...

In Venezuela, on 23 November 1999, in in the morning, Jim went to church

of Lagunillas, in the state of Mérida, where he filmed a video of Christ crying.

Why I Avoided Anti-SJWs - Duration: 7:36.

[intro music]

So, a little bit of a confession.

Some of you probably already know this about me, but I spent quite a while - years in fact

- avoiding anti-SJW content.

I suppose it'd be fair enough to say I put myself in an echo chamber of sorts, avoiding

at least the most obvious forms of dissent I could have found.

But it wouldn't be fair to say I ever did this due to hating or being afraid of disagreement.

In fact, around the time I did that I tended to thrive on disagreement.

I still do to at least some degree.

If I agree with everything, I'm unlikely to even bother commenting and will likely be

less engaged, at least when it comes to political content.

Unless I feel isolated in my belief, telling me things I already know and agree on doesn't

really do much for me.

And when I say I avoided it, I really do mean I avoided it.

After I gave up trying to say what I needed to say on certain channels, I dropped them.

Then I started dropping others that even seemed to go the same direction.

And I certainly wasn't giving much of a chance to other channels I saw addressing the same

or similar topics - especially if they appeared to share the same opinions as others I'd left

earlier.

In fact, I was so opposed to giving this group I saw a chance that I nearly avoided the channels

of a couple people I'd go so far as to call friends now,

just because they were making something that was - in a broad sense - anti-SJW content.

But, and I'm sure some won't believe me at this point, this really had nothing to do with actually

avoiding disagreement or even wanting to avoid those particular opinions or views.

So, if I wasn't avoiding it because of the opinions and I actually liked dissent, why

in the world did I actively avoid, essentially, certain points of view?

Or, more accurately, practically anything countering a particular point of view I don't

even completely agree with?

In a word: behavior.

As in, the behavior of not just the antis themselves but the communities and fanbases

surrounding them, at least the ones I saw.

The intellectual dishonesty and misrepresentations provided by people I'd previously thought

were above that, even if not the gentlest individuals upset me.

The constant pointing to extreme, clearly ridiculous versions of arguments when I agreed

with another form was infuriating, especially when the extreme was alleged to represent

a much broader group and the existence of more reasonable and related arguments was

never acknowledged.

But these things could be criticized and people could do better, or even just tell me where

I was being too defensive or whatever.

My first real step away came from the fact I couldn't post dissent.

Oh, I technically could - many of them took a weird sort of stance on free speech where

even preventing the abusive and malicious type of trolls was an unthinkable violation,

so obviously they weren't about to block me for it - but realistically no, I couldn't.

I know this because I did, and I watched what happened after.

Pointing out that what was actually being argued against as, for example, feminism wasn't

actually the main position of feminists or even the main understanding of the very argument

presented resulted in substantial amounts of ridicule and insults being thrown my way.

Is this better than if I'd been simply blocked by the owner of the channel?

Maybe, but I'm not sure it is.

The end result was similar, though arguably making people afraid of being attacked and

then ridiculed for complaining about that is probably more effective at getting their

silence than just silencing them.

The latter tends to invoke some righteous indignation and get sympathy and consideration

from people after the fact.

The former gets more ridicule and you told not to use the Internet if you can't take

people being deliberately and unnecessarily assholes.

And I've never been one to stay silent.

I'm really not sure I'm even capable of it.

If I have something to say, I'm going to say it - even if I ultimately just say it somewhere

private or throw it out before it actually goes public.

But at the time, I didn't really have another good outlet for it.

I have mental health issues - I haven't made that a secret; my very first video had to

do with people trying to cure strangers.

I've also been on YouTube for years as a viewer and commenter and on the internet in general

damned near my whole life.

I knew what a cesspool it was, how these hateful, hostile, and sometimes even month-ruining

comments were inevitable.

In fact, I vastly overestimated them - I was certain if I ever started to make content,

I'd be flooded with so many I'd wind up in a hospital or something.

That's really a big part of why I didn't make videos much sooner - I expected the comments

to kill me.

Possibly even literally, if indirectly.

So, if I couldn't handle what'd happen if I made videos (or so I thought anyway), and

I couldn't really just stay silent when dealing with things so incredibly wrong, what choices

did I have left?

I only saw two: comment, as I'd already done and found the responses were beyond what I

was willing to subject myself to.

Orrr...leave the channel.

I couldn't watch it and just ignore whatever problems I had, but if I didn't watch it I

wouldn't see the problems to need to say something.

Now, is this the best approach to disagreement?

Hell no!

It's not even the one I wanted to take.

Initially, I left comments hopeful my criticisms would be considered.

I'd *much* rather hash out the disagreement - even if the conversation is uncomfortable

at points or whatever.

But if simply trying to discuss what's wrong with something is met with vitriol and little

to no hope of a conversation that goes anywhere, it certainly seemed better to just leave instead.

Now, was it the best approach to the situation I was in?

I don't know.

To this day, I can't think of a better one I could have taken at the start.

I wish it hadn't led to me preemptively avoiding entire channels, but even some of those decisions

seem justified when I watch, for example, Sargon's performance at Mythcon.

I fully admit I never gave his content a fair chance, but I get the impression that the

only thing I missed in that was additional pain and frustration.

And, ultimately, it was the decision I made.

It was the best option I could see at the time.

Of course, it meant my voice - one I hope is reasonable and not entirely off-base most

of the time - wasn't part of the conversation.

I wonder how many others stopped speaking because one tribe or the other made it not

worthwhile for them.

I wonder how much damage was done because of similar issues.

And I wonder if it's even possible to know or measure that.

Reverse Aging Process Naturally - Lifestyle Changes For Better Health - Duration: 8:11.

Wanna know how you can reverse the aging process naturally? In this video I talk

about 5 lifestyle changes for better health and hey watch right to the end of

the video there's someone really special I'd like you to meet so keep watching!

Hey it's so good to see you, my name is Lynette Tan Mrs Singapore Universe 2016

and I help people be beautiful and healthy naturally so if you're new here

definitely consider subscribing but hey in this video I talk about how to

reverse the aging process naturally specifically 5 lifestyle changes for

better health. At any time in this video definitely check out the links and

shownotes in the description below I'll list of everything that's in this

video plus a link to my blog so definitely check that out at any time.

I first heard about the keto diet from a couple of friends a few years ago so

naturally I became curious so when I heard that that was gonna be keto

classes I was the first to sign up I was just so eager to find out what it was

how to do it properly and I talked about them quite extensively in my other

videos so I'm just gonna put a link up there for you so you can check them out

at any time. But if we're just meeting, I have been on a

low-carb diet for the last couple of years because of a health scare so Keto

isn't exactly something new but the part about having to up my fat intake was

Anyway here's a quick summary of all that I've learnt plus lifestyle changes

that you might want to consider subscribing to, to reverse the aging

process naturally

Actually it's super simple to switch to Keto first thing you need to do, cut out

carbs and sugar and start eating real quality foods to really nourish your

body. Just focus on proteins and fat with veggies and sides and if let's say you

are 50 kg then everyday just take 50 grams of protein and three times that

are fat which is 150 grams of fat per day. Stick to this way of eating for 5

to 10 days you should be keto-adapted and when you're in ketosis definitely

consider intermittent fasting for greater impact.

I am a regular fast(er)

Okay I know that sounds weird it's more like I fast on a regular basis for

spiritual reasons and it's primarily to sharpen spirit man and also to clear the

mind so I think it only makes perfect sense for the body to rest from foods as

well so that has time to cleanse and repair just like it was designed to.

So how do I do it just remember the numbers 16 is to 8 so I fast for 16 hours and I

have an 8 hour window with which to fill my body with nourishing foods. So my last

meal of the day is before 8 p.m. why because according to research the

important digestive enzymes are no longer produced after 8 p.m. so I work

with my body I let it rest all the way till noon the next day and that's when I

have my first meal of the day and it really helps to think of food as

chemical signals that you send to your body so when you have enough proteins

and fat you let your body know to release the fat and likewise when you

eat nourishing foods you feel full for longer your hunger pangs disappear but

do take note you still have to take your daily macros

So when you're fasting, your body goes into detox. Autophagy takes place it's a

natural process by which your body destroys toxins, bacteria, viruses and

also devours damaged cells, regenerating new ones and you can also think of it as

a spring clean for your healthy cells so they function optimally and speaking of which

I have to admit, I hate to exercise and I

don't have to because I'm already at my ideal weight but I have to re-think

this whole entire thing because according to research exercise is the

real way to cleanse your body to help it to detox. Exercise puts stress on your

body it causes microscopic muscle tears that your body rushes to heal so your

muscles become stronger than they were before and exercise also promotes fat

burning and increases energy levels and get this! High intensity exercise

actually boosts your human growth hormones the most! Yes! So think repeated

sprints, interval training, weight training, circuit training gosh I'm so

exhausted just talking about them but point is exercise is good for you it

keeps you young so I walk my dog for at least 30 minutes a day and I do planking

for five minutes and that's it for now. And I have to admit I am also a work

in progress when it comes to this

There're just so many distractions you know but I am really trying to sleep

early so help me God! You know sleep is super important because that's when your

body repairs itself, your vital organs go into detox mode and while you sleep your

body is actually cleansing, rebuilding and rejuvenating itself and the

interesting thing is between 9:00 to 10:00 p.m. that's when your brain releases

a natural tranquilizer as a signal for us to go to bed

and so when you feel drowsy it's time to hit the sack

Research also shows that it's best to be sleeping by 10:00 p.m. so that your body

is able to do the vital work of cleaning up the blood and maintaining normal

blood pressure and here's the thing human growth hormones are secreted

profusely while you sleep so that's another big reason for you to go to bed

early

I'm sure you know that the human body is made up of 70 to 80 percent water but

what water are we talking about? We're talking about pure distilled water

because everything else is filtered out by our eliminative organs. Fact is, all

plants contain distilled water, distilled by Nature so yep you guessed it!

I drink on the pure steam distilled water and recently I started adding half

a teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt to it because it's the purest form of salt and

also because it contains numerous essential trace minerals to help

transport water molecules to our cells, hydrating them. So definitely hydrate

yourself, drink 2 to 3 liters of water per day for better health and that's how

you reverse the aging process naturally and definitely consider those five

lifestyle changes for better health. As promised, I've got someone really special

I'd like you to meet!
