Hey guys, and welcome to my last haul video ever! Okay, maybe not ever [laughs], but this
will be my last haul for quite a while. As you may know, I have been unemployed for a
year now, and it's officially come time for me to stop spending. Not just cut back,
but stop altogether. I decided to make this haul my last hurrah, as I've been looking
forward to this particular shopping trip all year.
So I attended a show here in the Toronto area called CreativFestival; they have a spring
show and a fall show, and for the last two years, I think, they have partnered with another
show called ScrapFest for their fall show. So basically what that means is that the fall
show is the one that has all the paper crafting-related shopping in it! There's also classes, and
the ScrapFest people have a separate room for crops and things like that.
I went for the first time last year, and I went a little crazy with the shopping [laughs].
I don't think I ever posted the haul from last year, but I bought a ton of stuff. This
year was no exception, but I think I was a little smarter with my craziness? I went into
the show this year knowing what particular collections and whatnot that I was looking
for, so that kept me a little more focused on finding particular items, rather than just
buying all the cute stuff I could get my hands on.
So since this is officially my last haul for who knows how long, I made sure to make it
count. So we'll just get started - and I will link all of the vendors that I bought
from below, so be sure to check them out!
The first place I went was the Scrapbook and Cards Today booth; Scrapbook and Cards Today
being, of course, the geniuses behind the SCT Sampler Kit. They were the last booth
I hit last year, and I regretted it, because they had a ton of stuff for ridiculously good
prices, and by the time I got there both their inventory and my wallet were picked over [laughs].
So I made a point of going there first thing this year! And, um… I made out well [laughs].
So from their $1.00 bin, I picked up this little package of Valentine's Bingo cards.
I grabbed quite a few things from their $3.00 bins: I picked up these gold "Joyous" alpha
Thickers…
I got these gorgeous "Happy Life" alpha Thickers - this side is gold, and the other
side is this gorgeous rose gold!
I got these Valentine's Thickers …
These chipboard accents from the Echo Park "A Perfect Autumn" collection…
This pack of Amy Tangerine rubber shapes…
And the absolute best items I found in those bins by far: full-sized distress ink pads!
They only had these two colours, the Vintage Photo and the Peacock Feathers, so I grabbed
one of each because, uh… full-size distress inks for $3.00 a pop? Yes please!
They also had a bin of paper pads that I thought were two for $5.00, but he rang me up for
$3.00 for the two and I wasn't going to argue with that! So I picked up the Simple
Stories "I Am" double-sided 6x8 paper pad; this is a collection that I received a sampling
from in the SCT Sampler Kit, and then bought a few more pieces of it online, so I got this
to add to it.
[music]
And then I also grabbed the Pink Paislee "Spellcast" single-sided 6x6 paper pad.
[music]
Moving on to the items I got from their $4.00 bin, I grabbed these sets of enamel dots from
Doodlebug, Pinkfresh Studio and Carta Bella…
These Pink Paislee "Turn The Page" swatch books, which are like books of little 2x2
cut aparts…
And this set of Crate Paper "Wonder" Ephemera.
And finally, from their $5.00 bin, I got this Doodlebug Odds & Ends ephemera from the "Christmas
Town" collection…
… and these journaling cards from the Simple Stories "I Am" collection.
So that was it for vendor number one! [laughs] The next booth I visited was the Younique
Scrapbook Store, which is another vendor that I bought from last year.
The first thing I grabbed was this roll of ⅛ inch Scor-Tape for $5.95. I fell in love
with ⅛ inch Scor-Tape, or double-sided tape, after I got that giant roll in the SCT Sampler
Kit, and I'm rapidly using up that roll!
Next I found this single-sided 6x6 paper pad from the Crate Paper "Snow and Cocoa" collection
for $4.75; I picked up the ephemera pack from this collection last year, so I got this to
go with it.
[music]
Next I bought the Simple Stories "Forever Fall" collection kit for $17.50; this was
one of the collections I was keeping an eye out for, particularly because…
... [of] this insanely adorable fox! [laughs]
And then I also found this Photo Play "Love Notes" collection kit for $8.99, and one of
the things that sold me on this one was…
… the flying pig. [laughs]
The third vendor I bought from was Ninabrook Paper Crafting, which was another repeat vendor
from last year.
The Doodlebug "Pumpkin Party" collection was another one I was looking for, and at
this vendor I picked up the Odds & Ends ephemera for $10.49...
… and the double-sided 6x6 paper pad, also for $10.49.
[music]
I also grabbed two sets of these glittery orange alpha Thickers for $4.49 each, primarily to
use in my October Daily.
And then I found this, which was not officially on my list, but I just couldn't pass it
up. It's what they referred to as a "mega bundle" of the My Mind's Eye "Trick or
Treat" collection. This is a collection that I've seen used in a lot of older October
Daily videos that I've been watching lately, and I fell in love with it, but because the videos
I was watching that featured it were from 2015/2016, it didn't occur to me that I
might still be able to find it.
So this "mega bundle" contains six sheets of double-sided 12x12 paper; a 12x12 chipboard
sticker sheet; a smaller sticker sheet; double-sided journaling cards; brads; and ephemera, for
$25.99. That seemed like a pretty sweet deal to me, so I had to get it!
Next I visited the Sassy Scrapping booth; I think I might have visited this booth last
year as well, but I don't remember for sure. It did seem familiar to me though!
So the first thing I picked up there was the Echo Park "Hocus Pocus" collection kit
for $24.00; this was another collection I was looking for, and while I probably paid
a bit more for this kit than I should have, I was just happy to find it
Next I got this set of American Crafts puffy stickers and this set of American Crafts wooden
shapes for $6.00 each.
And I picked up this adorable Doodle-Pops mummy sticker on clearance for $1.95.
Moving to the Two Scrapbook Friends booth, this was another vendor that I didn't think
I'd shopped at before, but they also seemed very familiar to me! I definitely I need to
keep them in mind as one of my first stops next year - they had a lot of the collection
kits that I had already picked up, but they also had all of the elements available separately,
so you could pick and choose what pieces you wanted. I will definitely have to remember
that next time!
So their individual 12x12 papers ranged in price from $1.10 to $1.35, and they weren't
labelled, so I can't give you exact prices for these; when I was picking them out I just
assumed they'd all be $1.35. So I picked up an extra of this cut apart sheet from the
Simple Stories "Forever Fall" collection, again mostly because of the fox…
And that's the other side of that one.
I got two of this cut apart sheet from the Doodlebug "Pumpkin Party" collection…
And two of this cut apart sheet from the "Pumpkin Party" collection...
I picked up an extra of this sheet from the "Hocus Pocus" collection, just because
I adore these cute little ghosts…
And I grabbed an extra of the "Hocus Pocus" sticker sheet for $3.99.
Then I also got the "Pumpkin Party" Chit Chat ephemera for $8.99…
And one of the "Pumpkin Party" Doodle-Pops for $1.99.
I also grabbed the Doodlebug "Christmas Town" 6x6 double-sided paper pad for $8.99.
[music]
And I got the "Forever Fall" 4x6 sticker sheets for $6.99.
And then I finally picked up a jewel picker for $6.25; this is one of those tools that
I've been mulling over for a while now, because I have lost countless gem stickers
and whatnot to my stubby fingers, dropping them on the floor and then never finding them
again. So hopefully this will help me to, you know… not do that! [laughs]
By this point my money was starting to dwindle [laughs], so I had to get a little more discerning
with my purchases… I went to the Karen's Creations Scrapbooking booth, where they had
a ton of mini ink pads. So I picked up a pad of Memento Black ink for $3.29; I've heard
this is one of the better inks for stamping images that you want to colour, so I thought
I'd one in a little "sample size" to start…
And they also had Tim Holtz mini distress inks in literally every colour for $3.99 each,
and with much pain, I forced myself to only pick two [laughs]. I got the "Carved Pumpkin"
for Halloween projects, obviously, and the "Tea Dye", because I wanted to get a brown
that's lighter than the "Vintage Photo".
The next booth I hit up was Worldwide Scrapbooking Supplies, which was the only place trhat I found
anything from the Doodlebug "Sweet Summer" collection. This was another collection that I
got pieces of in the SCT Sampler Kit and wanted more of, so I picked up two of the Doodle-Pops
for $2.45 each, and the double-sided 6x6 paper pad for $5.00.
[music]
And finally - finally! [laughs] - the last vendor I visited was The Workshop, which had
quite a few clearance bins to go through. I ended up finding this Bo Bunny ephemera
pack for $8.27; it doesn't say what's in it, but you can see that there's cardstock,
there's playing cards, ribbon, buttons, paper clips, and all sorts of fun stuff in
here. So that's going to be fun to go through!
And then I picked up two of these We R Memory Keepers 3x3 chipboard albums for $4.97 each.
I just thought they were really cool, and they even come with 3x3 page protectors, so
I thought they would be fun to play with.
And that's it for this gigantic, final haul of… well, probably of 2018, if I'm being
honest! I am done shopping until after I both get a job AND I rebuild my savings. No more Michaels,
no more dollar stores unless I need non-crafty things, and then I have to be very strict
about not going into the craft aisle, even though I'm gonna want to! And I won't be
looking at the Michaels emails, and I probably am gonna even cut back on watching hauls
since they're my number one enabler, so please don't be offended if I'm not watching
your videos. But like, even if I get job tomorrow, the only shopping I'm gonna be doing, for anything
other than like, adhesive and things like that if I run out, will be just shopping my
stash until probably 2019, because I need to just stop shopping and stop hoarding, and
start using, and I'm going to be doing that exclusively, starting now! [laughs] So I hope
you'll stick around and join in on that journey, 'cause that should be… interesting!
So thank you for watching, and if you enjoyed this video, please give it a big thumbs up;
please give it a share; subscribe to my channel if you haven't already; and click that little
bell in the corner to be notified when I next upload a video. And I will see you guys in
the next one.
