The big election day is one week away, and that means that political discussion

both locally and nationally is reaching a fever pitch. Here in Flagstaff,

one of the most debated topics on the ballot is proposition 418. Since the

Flagstaff minimum wage increase was passed in 2016, many residents and

business owners have argued over whether the measure helps the local economy or

not. Proposition 418 would alter the 2016 law and halt the wage increase at 50

cents above the state rate. Our reporter, our reporter Aayden Casey went to town, went

to a town-hall meeting last night to hear what citizens are saying. City

Council candidate Adams Shimoni held an open forum Monday night for residents to

discuss the impact of prop 418 on the Flagstaff community. Shimoni: "Basically to say that minimum wage is

going to kill our economy is just not the case." Blake Gober, campaign

manager for 'Yes' on 418 believes the proposition will help stabilize

Flagstaff for small businesses. Gober: "What I've seen in talking with business owners

across the community, whether even outside of the county, but specifically

like inside the county and specifically the mom-and-pop shops a lot of them

downtown that if the minimum wage does increase the 15 dollars and 50 cents an

hour, they won't be able to afford it." Shimoni thinks the measure will be

detrimental to workers in Flagstaff. Simoni: "Yeah, our minimum wage will not continue to

increase to 15.50 as currently scheduled, nor will our tip wages increase over

time and nor will we have local enforcement of our labor standards here

in Flag. That office will be removed." Whether you were for 418 or against

it, it seems the debate will be cited until election night. Mitchel:"The town is very

expensive as it is and I think it's pretty hard for small business owners

here to get by, I suspect and with high rents and I think having a high minimum

wage is another, another thing that makes it difficult to have a small business

I've got a heavy-duty Norweld deluxe canopy on the back which sits on their tray.

The whole package is super-tough.

I've got a Redarc battery management system going on in the back here.

That's all fully wired up by Battery World.

They do an awesome job.

I've got an inverter in there.

And in the back there's a compressor and a hose reel there.

It makes pumping up the tyres easy.

On the passenger side of my truck here, I've got a Clearview EasySlide

with a 65-litre Dometic fridge.

So basically this whole truck is fully set up to go off-road.

Kitchen, camp, go anywhere, won't break, get itself out of the bog, do whatever you want, kick-ass.

The Emmerdale cast member, played by Dominic Brunt, has had to deal with the death of his baby daughter Grace.

However, Paddy has been seen trying to be strong for partner Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter).

But tonight Paddy was seen finally opening up to best pal Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) that he was struggling with Grace's death.

Paddy admitted he felt "empty" to Marlon, telling him "I don't know what's wrong with me.".
