So guys
I had an idea that can go wrong
I'm gonna fly this drone in here
This is not gonna go well
What do you think, Pipoca?
What's up, guys! How are you?
Today I bring you the most requested video here
Not exactly the most requested video
but all of this is what people ask me about the most
"Paulo, which camera do you use?"
"Which lens do you use?"
"Which drone do you have?"
"What do you use to edit your photos?"
So I decided to make a video showing everything
The table is a mess
So let's get it started, because there's a lot to talk about
First, I would like to apologize
It's been a while since I posted my last video
I think it was in the beginning of December
but you know that it's always crazy at the end of the year
and 2017 started with a bunch of projects
so I got really busy
I'm back now
and I wanted to apologize first
Today we are going to talk about this
The table is a big mess right now
I'll removing stuff with time
I'm not even sure where to begin
Actually, before starting, I wanted to ask you

I'll give here my sincere opinion
about each of these things
I hope you guys like it
I think I'll start with the basics
Let's talk about my phone
Many of you already know that I have an iPhone 7 Plus
Here's the cover
I did a complete review of the iPhone 7 Plus
here on my YouTube channel
If you haven't seen it yet, the link is here below
I think it's an amazing smartphone
Probably the best one on the market for taking photos
It's not because it has the best image quality
I talk about this on my review
because there are a couple of competitors that have
a slightly better image
but if you consider its features
Everything it does
The "Portrait Mode" is amazing
You can see many photos I shot in the Portrait Mode in the video
Anyway, it's an amazing phone
I don't want to talk much about it
This is my phone for taking pictures
My main Instagram account has very few iPhone shots
You can see all my iPhone shots on my other Instagram
which is @paulo_delvalle
100% iPhone
and the most recent photos are shot with the iPhone 7 Plus
I think only 1% of my photos from my main instagram
were shot with an iPhone
When it's an iPhone shot, I write that on my caption
So, this is my phone and it's really great
If you watched the review
you noticed it was a gold iPhone 7 Plus
Now I have this Jet Black version
It's beautiful
I really like it
It's 256GB
Since my other one was 128GB, I sold it
and kept this one for me
It's an amazing phone indeed
Since I'm talking about smartphones
Let's talk about my mobile tripod
I have this one
The brand is Joby
I also have the bigger one for cameras
I know the big one is called GorillaPod
I'm just not sure if the small one is called the same
It's a good tripod and I like it very much
It looks a bit weird with these little balls
You can bend it anyway you want
They both do that
You can put them almost anywhere
in a fence, tree...
You just wrap it around it and it will stay there
Same things goes for the big one
Maybe there's nowhere you can put your tripod
You just wrap it around stuff
It's a very good one
Joby GorillaPod
I have the small one for smartphones
and the big one for cameras
One thing I don't like very much
I understand that these little balls are good
to wrap around stuff
but it's a bit annoying to close it
I have to squeeze it many times
It's a bit complicated
but this is the tripod I use with my iPhone
The iPhone 7 Plus is the maximum size you can fit
So be aware of that
So if I have a bigger phone one day
which I don't think it's gonna happen
but if I did, I couldn't use this one
I know there big phones that this one
If you have one, keep that in mind
If your phone is too big
Those phablets
phone and tablet
Keep in mind that these tripods have a size limit
which is usually the iPhone Plus size
Still talking about phones
I have this gimbal
DJI Osmo Mobile
It's a gimbal to stabilize the image
I'm not sure if it's charged
You put your phone here
When you turn it on
Now I see it's charged
It stabilizes my video
Any way I move, it keeps steady
and this is very good for filming
I think since the iPhone 6S
it shoots in 4K
So I've been using my phone to make videos too
and I decided to buy this gimbal for my iPhone
This is great to film while walking
because it shakes much less
even running
It's great for thar
I can film panning the phone like this
It can move horizontally and vertically
There's a tripod for this
and you can set it to film timelapses while panning
It costs USD 299
I don't regret buying it
I don't use it much
because I do more photos than videos
but it's a product I loved and I don't regret buying it
I think there's nothing else for smartphones
Now let's talk about photography
My cameras
This was my main camera
You can see my dog Pipoca over there, right?
She's eating a cattle ear
You can buy these stuff at pet shops
and she keeps eating that all day
I gave it to her because I needed to film this
otherwise she would be jumping on me
I have to talk faster because there's a lot to talk about
I had this camera, Canon 6D
it's a semi-professional camera
I think it's 20MP
It's full frame
Before this one I had a Canon T2i
It was an entry level camera
I think nowadays the model is Canon T6i
It was a good camera
I've been using Canon for many years
After I sold my Canon T2i, I wanted to get a semi-pro
and I got the Canon 6D
because the T2i wasn't full frame
The T2i has a APS-C sensor
So when you get a full frame, you can see much more
I really like the 6D
The only thing I find annoying
is when you are shooting in live view mode
When you see it on the screen and not on the viewfinder
In live view mode it takes forever to focus
It's really annoying
It takes about 5 seconds to focus
It's a great camera, but it's really big and heavy
I've had this one for some time
It's all scratched
but it's not my main camera nowadays
It's my backup camera
If I go to a place that I think it's dangereous
with risk of getting robbed
I take this one
My main camera now, which is a professional one
It's filming on the tripod now
I'll use a few takes to show it to you
It's the Sony Alpha A7R Mark II
It's an amazing mirrorless camera
The Canon is a DSLR
and the Sony is a Mirrorless
What's the difference?
The Canon has a mirror inside
When you take a photo
The mirror goes up and down
What you see here is a reflection from this mirror
As the name says, the mirrorless has no mirror
That makes it possible to make smaller and lighter cameras
and that's what Sony did
and many other brands as well, like Fujifilm
Canon has just announced one as well
I think all brands will make mirrorless cameras
I think it's the future
The cameras will be smaller
I love my Sony
It's a 42MP camera
Full frame
It has around 400 points of focus
It doesn't have this problem that Canon has
It has a super fast focus
Since there's no mirror inside
It's not possible for you to see any reflection in here
So there's a small screen in the viewfinder
It's a small display with good image quality
Of course, it's not excellent
You know it's a display
The advantage is
When you look at the viewfinder in a DSLR
You don't see any changes when you change settings
because it's just a reflection from the mirror
You can only see it changing on the screen in a DSLR
and the Canon has that focusing problem in live view
with the Sony, since it's a display
The same thing that is shown on the big display
is also shown on the small one
So I don't have to take my eyes off here
because I can see it changing
So that's a big advantage of any mirrorless camera
My Sony has a few problems I don't like
but I'll talk about that in a review of that camera
becuase I know a lot of people is interested in knowing more about it
So I'll make a review of my Sony A7R II
Let's go back to Canon
I only have one lens from Sony
the 24-70mm f/4
It's kinda the equivalent of the 24-105mm f/4 from Canon
It has a good "zoom"
It's f/4, so not as many light as other lenses
but it's good enough
The lenses I have for Canon
I have a Sigma Art Lens 35mm f/1.4
Since it's f/1.4
It has great aperture
Beautiful lens, it gets a lot of light inside
and also great bokeh
The smaller the "f", the bigger the aperture opening
more light inside and better bokeh
It's a great lens for portraits
At night you can get a beautiful bokeh, with those rounded lights in the back
The smaller the "f", the better the lens to do that
Another Canon lens, I have the 14mm f/2.8
I've never liked fisheye lenses
I had a fisheye and I just sold it
I don't like the fisheye because of the bubble effect
Everything gets distorted, specially the horizon
That's the bubble effect
It distorts a lot architecture photos
There was a time I was addicted to shooting with this
If you go back 3 years on my Instagram
you will find some fisheye shots
but then I found out about this kind of lens
14mm
I doesn't distort as much
basically nothing
It puts everything further away
It's great for architecture shots
So if you are in front of a big construction or monument
and you want to have it further away
This is the lens for you
It's f/2.8
Much better than f/4
Let's talk about tripods
I have this mini tripod from Manfrotto
There are many places that don't let you use big tripods
like museums
Some places are worried about people using tripods
Specially museums
Other places like the Grand Central Terminal, New York
you can't use one
So I always carry this mini tripod for these kind of situations
They don't complain about this one
As I said before, I have this GorillaPod
you can put it anywhere
The tripod I'm using with the Sony is also a Manfrotto
It's ok, I don't like it a lot
It's a video tripod
When I bought it, I didn't understand much
I ended up purchasing a video tripod
It's great for video because of the ball head
You can easily move around
and get smooth movements
It's good for panning
For video that's great
Not for photos though, because it's horrible to use it in portrait mode
It's something I use a lot and my tripod sucks for that
So I really need to buy a new tripod
The GorillaPod can help me with that
I just have to wrap it somewhere
Anyway, I need a better one
Talking about Sony and Canon lenses
I have a few Canon lenses
I had to buy an adapter for my Sony
This is the Metabones
It's an adapter to use Canon lenses on the Sony
You put the Canon lens in one side and put the adapter on the Sony
It was good to get this because Sony lenses are expensive
of course I still wanted to use these lenses
The Sigma was USD 900
The 14mm was USD 2.200
They are expensive as well
so I still wanted to use them
Specially the 14mm that Sony doesn't have one
It's a good adapter
It doesn't work perfectly though
It works when it wants to work
Sometimes it focus automatically
when I use a Canon lens
It has 2 versions, one with auto focus and one without it
I bought the auto focus version but it doesn't always work
I doesn't work with my Sigma, for example
I think only with Canon lenses
Let's talk about filters
This is a ND filter
for long exposure
It's a 10 stops neutral density filter
It's really dark
When I want to shoot long exposure during the day
I use this filter
So it gets really dark and I can decrease my shutter speed
Great for shooting the water movement on waterfalls, the ocean...
I also have a polarizing filter
It's not here with me
but I do have one
It's great for removing reflections from glass and water
Let's say you are in a beach with crystal clear water
and you want to see what's underwater
this filter is great for removing the sun reflections
Also it gives a nice look on landscapes
everything pops out, kinda like 3D
If you have sunglasses with polarized lenses
you will know what I'm talking about
You notice everything pops out when you wear them
Let's talk about flash
I have two for my Sony
There's one thing I didn't like about my Sony
I bought these but I never use them
If I need to use them for a commercial shoot, I have them
So the thing I don't like about it is this
This is a wireless external flash
I don't feel the need to use the flash on camera
I wanted one to use it from the side, for example
but I hate that Sony doesn't let you use only one flash off camera
I must have one flash on camera
that sends an infrared signal to the other flash
so the 2 will flash
Not sure if the both flash
but you get my point
It sucks that I had to buy a cheaper flash to send the signal to the better flash
It's really dumb and I'm sure Canon doesn't have that
I'm pretty sure I've seen people using only one external flash on a Canon
I don't remember the exact model
Anyway, all the names will be in the description below
What can we talk about now?
GoPro
I have a GroPro Hero 4 Silver
I don't use it much
only when I want to shoot underwater
but I do like the GoPro for that
I have a dome for the GoPro
This is it
It works like a pistol
You put your GoPro with the case in here
You use this to take those half and half shots
You can see underwater and also above it
This one is not very good
It got scratched on the first day
and you can see the scratches on the photos
It looks horrible
I really want to buy a waterproof case for my Sony
I know it's really expensive
It's like USD 2.000
but I gotta have one
if I want to take really good photos underwater
If I use only the GoPro, it looks ok
but if I use it with this crappy dome I bought
full of scratches
I don't wanna buy a new dome because the material sucks
That's how you take half/half shots on the water
you must buy a dome for your GoPro
What else?
External Drive
This is really important if you take photos
so you can back them up
All my photos are in here
This is a Western Digital My Passport 2TB
I have many external drives filled up
I only brought this one here as an example
It's really important to have one for backup
Not only there, but also have your photos on the cloud
Use Dropbox or Google Drive
I pay USD 9.99 per month and I get 1TB
My photos are there as well
So have many backups
It's happened to me that I only had photos
in one computer and it stopped working
So I lost those photos
Also happened that I only had some photos in one external drive and it broke
Lost them as well
So have many backups
What else?
Computer
I have a Microsoft Surface Book
I really like it
I bought this one becaus of the pen
So I can use this pen on the screen
It's great for editing photos
I can zoom in with my fingers
and use the pen to edit some details
I use the brush a lot on Adobe Lightroom
So I can edit each area separately
I love zooming in and getting the pen to use the brush
It's much more precise
I use this laptop mostly when I travel
I don't edit all my photos here
I have an iMac 27"
When I'm home, I prefer to use the iMac
because the screen is much bigger
Since the iMac is not touch screen
I have this Wacom tablet
called Wacom Bamboo
It's a bit old this one
It works the same way
It has this rectangle that represents the limit of my screen
If I take my pen to the upper corner, my mouse goes there too
and it works the same way as the Surface
I love editing photos with a pen
It really helps you edit more precisely
Another important thing
Backup batteries
I have 2 Sony batteries because they don't last much
I think the Canon battery lasts twice as much
but I also have another Canon battery
I have many memory cards
I have one inside my Sony, one in my Canon and two more
They are 16GB, 32GB and 64GB
The one in the Sony is the fastest one
I can film in 4K
This is our first video in 4K
Really cool
What else, guys?
Only the drone left?
Ahh, I also have this mini adpater from Lexar
It's an adapter from Micro SD to USB
Those tiny memory cards from smartphones and drones
I find it easier to use via USB
I guess there's no computer that accepts micro SD
You need an adapter
and I never liked those adapters that are Micro SD to SD
I prefer this one that is USB
I think now there's only the drone left to talk about
This is my drone
DJI Phantom 4
It's a very good drone
Here's the remote
I use my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 here
The only thing I don't like is the long time it takes to set it up
It takes about 5 minutes
but it helps you get images that you could never get
unless you have a chopper
It's big, but it's awesome
It's just annoying setting it up
you gotta connect it to the smartphone with the cord
so it takes about 5 minutes
It shoots videos in 4K
It takes 12MP photos
There's now the new professional version that takes 20MP photos
The new one films in more frames per second
but I like this one
It's very good
It's good if you can have another phone to use here
The new one comes with a screen attached to the remote
which is great
because it saves time
DJI has another new drone, the Mavic Pro
it folds and it gets really small
It's a drone I wanted to have
but with the launch of the Phantom 4 Pro
I think that one will be my next drone and not the Mavic
Since I work with this, I need better image quality
and the Mavic has the same quality as this one I have
So I want a better one
and not the same thing just because it folds
I will keep having an annoying big drone
but if it will give me even better quality
What's the harm?
Another thing I have is the microphone
in my Sony
Not just Sony, it works with anything
It works with Canon
It's that headphone jack plug
I even used it with my iPhone 7 Plus with the adapter
I did a work recently that I used this mic on the iPhone
It's a very good microphone
I made sure to get a good one
It was a bit expensive
I think it was USD 250
but it's very good
I have this furry thing
that is good for filming outside
it protects from the wind
so you don't get the wind noise on your audio
I will also show some video takes of it
because it's up there on my Sony while filming
I think that's all, guys
Thank you for your patience if you kept watching until the end
It's a longer video because there was a lot to talk about
If you have any questions about any of these products

Our next video will be posted next week
if I can keep my schedule of filming these videos
I will talk about which cameras to buy
another question I get all the time
If you want to start photography as an amateur
I'll help you choose
Also if you take photos for some time and are thinking about getting a new one
Semi-professional or professional
Also which drone to buy
Well, anything I can talk about cameras, I will
Not smartphones, because that's another video
That's it! I don't think there's anything else left.
