All right, this is Super Mario Logic by Final Theory, and he just updated it last
week with a new level and he fixed a few things. This is one of the coolest hacks out
there. It turns Super Mario World into a brand-new game--a
puzzle-platformer--it has new graphics; 94 levels, ranging from easy to
extremely hard to wrap your mind around. Final Theory has done a really
good job with this. He's one of my friends over at Zeldix, and I just want to draw
some attention of his hack because it's like getting a brand new Super Mario World game
and he's also working right now on modifying
Super Mario World into an overhead Zelda: A Link to the Past style game called "Plextona"
I'll put a link to that below and maybe I'll go to the
website later. But anyways, this is the recently updated Super Mario Logic.
You can get it at smwcentral.net and I have a link to it below in the
description. I'll just play through a few levels and see how I do. I'll start from
scratch.
hopefully my computer can handle streaming and emulating Super Nintendo
at the same time. I'm playing with the PDP Versus Controller, which is micro-switched, so it will be
clicky sounding,
this controller.
This second level and tricks you. The first time you play this level it's
absolutely mind-boggling; how do you get past it? At least for the first five
minutes, and then you sort of have a break-through you'll figure it out.
Because if you just jump up there--if you just hit the--Basically in Super Mario Logic it's about collecting
coins. It tells you how many coins on the brick, on the bottom, so on
this stage you need three. So your instinct is to just jump up there but
once you get there, you're trapped up there. So, anytime that you want to
restart a level, you just hit start and select together. You'll be doing that
a lot. and I might be thinking like "I need to throw that". PDP Versus, it's this
guy here that I'm using right now. I'm responding to Michael's Workshop in the
chat. But anyways, eventually you would figure out that you just hit that. It's that
simple.
And I hate to give away spoilers but the only way to show off this
game is to give out spoilers as you play it. Yeah, but I'm not gonna
play too far I'll just show the first few levels. That one is pretty
simple. Basically, at this point the game is just showing you the different things
you're going to be doing, and different things to be thinking about as you go
through it. So it's kind of in tutorial mode for these first few stages. You just
have to memorize the order
This is what all hacks should aspire to; creating an all-new
game out of one of our favorite games. There are little puzzles within Super Mario World
but nothing on this level. You can tell that he put a ton of thought into this game. Oh,
this level is kind of hard because your instinct is to jump up here, of course.
But this is a reference back to the second level. This is gonna take me a
few tries.
It's my luck that I'm going two and then end up on the top for the last one.
The hack's creator is probably laughing his ass off at me playing this right now.
Let's see... I don't remember anything past that level. That's all I played to warm
up earlier.
The brick on top tells you how many coins you need.
Are those things even in Super Mario World? Yeah, I think they are.
Easy Peasy.
Alright, maybe I'll do one more level.
And then I'll show off Plextona. This might be one of those little things, just trying to trick me.
Let me go show Plextona SNES, which is the
overhead-view/A Link to the Past-style Super Mario World hack that Final Logic is
working on.
Here's the release page for Super Mario World Logic.
and here is Plextona SNES, or just "Plextona", which i think is a
really cool idea; turning Super Mario World into like A Link to the Past.
It sounds really original and looks pretty cool.
Great work to Final Logic, and thanksfor joining the stream.
Definitely check out Super Mario World Logic; one of the coolest--if not the
coolest--Super Nintendo hack that I've ever played, with tons of replay. You'll
forget the secrets to the levels after a month, so you can go back and you'll have
to re-remember everything. I hope I didn't spoil too much of it for you.
Anyways, see you later!
