so the end of another year has come far too fucking quickly now I'm not exactly
sure how time is supposed to work but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to go at a
constant speed it's not supposed to speed up when you're not paying
attention maybe if I want you to take away
anything from this video it's the time is a bitch anyway I digress
2017 now unlike most people or at least unlike some people on social media
I've actually quite enjoyed 2017 both professionally and personally although
more professionally than personally now professionally 2017 has been a little
bit weird I've got to be honest it's been an enjoyable but a little bit
strange a lot of like chops and changes and everything and it's it's been hard
to keep up with the times but it started off with me dropping jimbo mantas brand
for my youtube channel and changing it to the legacy of James brand I started
focusing the channel purely on gaming and started doing daily uploads now I
did this because it was what I wanted to do at the time and I wanted to take the
channel back to its roots somewhat because the first Cham the first channel
the first video that I uploaded on this channel it was a gaming video as a
matter of fact it was my sugar mobile I'm a division play through that I did
let's play that I did so I kind of saw it as taking the channel back to where
it started you know I also started a brand new channel which was just my name
that was going to be used for my vlogs and music I decided to kind of split it
into two things but as it turns out that wasn't really such a good idea because
people actually started unsubscribing from the channel so I ditched the idea I
completely removed the second channel they deleted the second channel
completely and re-uploaded all of the videos that had uploaded onto that
second channel back up onto the main channel so all of the music and the
vlogs that I had on the second channel were completely re uploaded to the main
channel and things seemed to pick up from that point on I started doing
comedy skits quite recently well I say comedy skits
they're somewhat funny satire things about specific topics but you know
they're you know they may be comedy to some people and very very recently the
the channel has crossed the 100 subscriber mark as a matter of fact just
after the channel hit those of 100 subscriber mark I pretty much were
almost completely phased out the gaming content off the channel this channel is
now no longer a gaming channel as a matter of fact it probably hasn't been
for quite some time I haven't really been making gaming content anymore you
know it's all been like vlogs comedy skits and music but that was only really
for the beginning half of the year so yeah there are a few gaming related
videos still on the channel but they're more kind of like talkie videos they're
not gameplay videos so I'm kind of leaving them on there and to be honest
with you kind of made sense to reorient the channel as like a vlogs and skits
and music channel because the the gaming videos were consistently getting less
views and less watch time than the rest of the content so it kind of made sense
to just kind of remove that content and just you know have the channel as of
vlog skits and music just made sense now speaking of music I did release
music this year but I only released two songs after I finished recording no I
just didn't have any inspiration for any other songs which kind of sucks but at
the same time I'm not gonna force the creative process I'm not gonna force the
songwriting process because I think that would just lead to even more mediocre
songs than that are already there I'd rather not release completely half-assed
music having said that I do have plans for music in 2018 but I will talk about
them in tomorrow's video and that was it really that when it came to the
professional side of things when you boil it down not a lot really happens
for me in 2017 I think the biggest thing to happen was that the channel broke a
hundred subscribers I know it's only taken two years to get but hey we're
here now now I've talked briefly about this on the 100 subscriber like special
skit thing that I did I am very happy that I achieved this milestone this year
because quite honestly it was beginning to look like a milestone I wouldn't
ever hit it's been a tough road for this YouTube channel since I launched it many
rebrands many content changes and at this point I'm pretty sure I've
completely screwed up this channel within YouTube's algorithms I've screwed
the pooch server speak now I don't know where the name changes and things like
that actually work themselves out eventually in the algorithm but at this
point I've had so many name changes about two or three of them so far and I
have had so many like content scheduling changes the I'm pretty sure it's
basically just screwed at this point the heck I've really got off-track so let's
get back on it nothing massive happened for me personally this year I completely
missed my weight loss target and had to end up getting a part-time job stacking
shelves to continue what I do here on on YouTube I think to be honest 2017 can be
summed up in three words no social life I don't think I've been for a proper
night out a since about the 31st of December 2016 if you don't count
Christmas Eve this year I literally became a complete recluse this year I
was so focused on doing the YouTube stuff and latterly writing my book that
you know socializing with people just never came into my thought process at
all I'm one of these people who is very introverted and is very okay with their
own company and I can go for I can do for months without you know seeking any
kind of any form of companionship whatsoever and be completely fine with
it speaking of writing my book I'm counting it as a personal thing rather
than a professional thing it may become a professional thing later on but right
now I'm counting it and treating it as a personal project it's going pretty damn
well but I'm not going to go into it too much in this video actually what am I
saying I'm not gonna go into it at all in this video overall I think 2017 is
the year where I hope I've laid a groundwork for a better 2018 but to be
honest with you only time will tell with
regards to that I'll probably be here next year going everything's awful guys
2080 with rubbish but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it
so that's about it for this video be sure to tune in tomorrow because I'm
going to be doing another video detailing my plans for 2018 and
everything I hope to do and achieve and all that jazz so thank you for watching
