"It's not a big deal" – Jurgen Klopp allays fears of long-term Daniel Sturridge injury

Despite Daniel Sturridge missing the last five games due to injury and illness, Jurgen Klopp has no concerns about the Liverpool striker's fitness.

Sturridge has not featured since the 7-0 win at home to Spartak Moscow on December 6, and hasn't played in the Premier League since the 1-1 draw with Chelsea on November 25.

The striker has missed the entirety of the Reds' congested festive run, and is seemingly not likely to return for the upcoming clashes with Leicester City and Burnley.

Though he was initially ruled out with illness, Klopp has since confirmed Sturridge is now sidelined with a muscle injury.

However, speaking to LiverpoolFC.

com, the German insisted it was "not a big deal," blaming the quick turnaround between games for Sturridge's prolonged absence.

"I'm not 100 percent sure.

Pretty much [everyone] so far came through the game," he explained of his squad's overall fitness.

"Daniel Sturridge was ill and now [has] a little muscle thing.

It's not a big deal, to be honest, but in this period all these things keep you away from games.

"That's not too cool for us, of course, but since yesterday not a lot [else happened].

Sturridge has been touted with a move away from Merseyside in the January transfer window, with West Ham among the clubs reportedly interested in a deal.

It is unlikely that any injury would impact on a transfer, though his continued spells on the sidelines could be a deterrent for potential suitors.

The 28-year-old has dropped down the pecking order under Klopp, and with Roberto Firmino in excellent form this season, scoring 16 goals and assisting eight in 27 games, his opportunities have dwindled.

Summer signing Dominic Solanke has been relied upon in an increased role as Firmino's backup, and is likely to start against either Leicester or Burnley over the new-year period.

Solanke is yet to score a competitive goal for the Reds, but has come close to finding the back of the net in recent appearances.

The youngster has proved an able deputy to Firmino, though Klopp will be wary that if he were to sanction the departures of both Sturridge and the in-demand Danny Ings he would be left short.

6 more big-name targets mooted with Jurgen Klopp "intent on fortifying" Liverpool

Liverpool have been touted with interest in six big-name players from around Europe, with Jurgen Klopp looking to build on the signing of Virgil van Dijk.

The Reds broke both their transfer record and the world record for a defender when they confirmed a £75 million deal to bring Van Dijk to Anfield from Southampton on Wednesday.

Van Dijk arrives as Klopp's first addition of the January transfer window, and will link up with his new team-mates on New Year's Day.

Having surpassed the £55 million paid to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, Van Dijk's move serves as a major statement of intent from Klopp's Reds.

But according to Goal's Melissa Reddy, this is unlikely to be the last of the big-money business for Liverpool, with Klopp "still intent on fortifying.

Reddy goes on to name six potential candidates for future windows, in three different roles.

Firstly, with Emre Can increasingly likely to depart on a free transfer next summer, and with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund both interested, Klopp has earmarked two possible replacements.

Schalke's Leon Goretzka is believed to be on the Reds' radar, and with his contract set to expire in 2018 could arrive in a similar deal to Can.

A more costly alternative is Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, with the Serie A side "reluctant to let him leave," and "expecting a fee of around £90 million if he does.

Elsewhere, a more progressive option in the middle of the park, with the versatility required to operate on the flanks and more advanced in attack too, is Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

Liverpool failed with a bid in the region of £70 million for the 22-year-old in August, and his club are "insisting he is not on the market next month.

But, interestingly, Reddy suggests that "if they scale back their £92 million valuation of the Frenchman in the off-season, he should remain in the mix" for the Reds.

And while Van Dijk's move to Merseyside will significantly bolster Klopp's centre-back ranks, three other defensive options are said to be under consideration.

Namely, these are Basel's Manuel Akanji—who has previously been named as a target by the Indepedent's Simon Hughes—Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez and Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte.

It could well be, therefore, that Klopp is seeking a partner for Van Dijk in the future, rather than fielding him alongside any of Joel Matip, Dejan Lovren or Ragnar Klavan as his long-term duo.

Finally, Reddy claims that "there is also a decision to be made in the goalkeeping department," due to uncertainty over the performances of Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

While that is likely based more on speculation than fact, it seems that Liverpool will be very active in the months to come.

We round up the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours, as Jurgen Klopp eyes further reinforcements following the signing of Virgil van Dijk.

Van Dijk will become the club's record signing when he makes the £75 million move from Southampton on January 1, in a landmark deal for the Reds.

The centre-back arrives as one of Klopp's key players, earmarked as a much-needed leader at the back.

But with the winter window yet to open, the German is being touted with an interest in a variety of other names, while others could leave Anfield next month.

Here's the latest from the rumour mill, with Klopp setting his sights around Europe.

6 Other Targets Mooted For Busy Reds.

The Reds' pursuit of Van Dijk was ambitious, and finalising a world-record switch underlines the club's intention to break back into Europe's elite.

But according to Goal's Melissa Reddy, the business is unlikely to stop there, with six other big-name talents linked with a move to Merseyside.

Those include previously touted targets in Basel centre-back Manuel Akanji, Schalke midfielder Leon Goretzka and AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar.

Elsewhere, Lazio midfielder Sergij Milinkovic-Savic is another name reportedly of Klopp's radar, though the Serbian is valued at £92 million.

Perhaps most interestingly, beyond Akanji, Reddy suggests Liverpool are interest in another pair of centre-backs in Athletic Bilbao's Aymeric Laporte and Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez.

Could Klopp be seeking a new long-term partner for Van Dijk?.

Guardiola Claims No Interest in Van Dijk Deal.

Breaking the bank to sign Van Dijk was a bold move from Liverpool, and they reportedly moved swiftly in order to pip Man City to a deal.

But after the Dutchman became the Reds' new No.

4 and underlined his intention to "try and help this great club achieve something special in the years to come," Pep Guardiola has weighed in.

Speaking after City's 1-0 win away to Newcastle United on Wednesday night, the Spaniard claimed he was never interested in Van Dijk.

It seems rather convenient that this would be the case, and with Vincent Kompany limping off with injury once again at St.

James' Park, it may be that Guardiola is left ruing this 'decision'….

West Brom Exploring January Ings Move.

With Daniel Sturridge injured, Danny Ings has been handed a Liverpool lifeline in recent weeks in the form of three appearances in Klopp's matchday squad.

This has, so far, amounted to 11 minutes on the pitch over two substitute appearances against Everton and Bournemouth, with both Roberto Firmino and Dominic Solanke preferred up front.

It seems highly unlikely Ings will break into the first-team setup on a regular basis, particularly with Firmino in such strong form.

And according to the Independent, West Brom are among the clubs interested in signing Ings on loan next month, along with Newcastle and West Ham.

Alan Pardew is said to have "reignited his interest" in Ings from his time in charge of Crystal Palace, "setting sporting director Nicky Hammond to work on a deal for the former Burnley man that would likely begin as a loan.

Klopp Discusses Possibility of January Loans.

Ings is not likely to be the only player allowed to leave the club on loan in January, with Marko Grujic, Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn among those set to depart.

It remains to be seen which other names join the peripheral quartet on temporary deals away from Anfield, though the likes of Lloyd Jones, Ovie Ejaria and Cameron Brannagan could be considered.

Discussing the possibility of some of his fringe figures moving on, Klopp suggested this would the case, though "most of them" would stay.

"We have to decide at one point if it makes sense that they stay," he told LiverpoolFC.

"For a lot of them, it makes sense that they stay here because we need them.

For a few, maybe it makes a little bit less sense.

"We will see—nothing is decided so far.

We will see which clubs are asking and then we have to make a decision whether it is good for the boy or not and all these things.".

Klavan Going Nowhere, Insists Klopp.

One player who won't be moving on next month, regardless of Van Dijk's arrival, is third-choice centre-back Ragnar Klavan.

Klavan has enjoyed a regular run of games alongside Dejan Lovren of late due to injury to Joel Matip, and has produced an impressive string of performances.

While Van Dijk's move to Anfield will likely impact on Klavan's chances of a regular role, Klopp has revealed he has turned down overtures from German clubs as he is relying on the 32-year-old.

"In this world, especially in England, with big signings and stuff like this, then you see how much we paid for Raggy!" he said.

"And how many German clubs have asked me already, 'Do you think about him [being available for transfer]?', which we don't, of course.

"He is a perfect role model for pretty much all signings.

He loves being here.".

Trapp Touted as January Mignolet Replacement.

Finally, with Reddy suggesting "there is also a decision to be made in the goalkeeping department," the Reds have been linked with a replacement for Simon Mignolet.

Don't get your hopes up, however, as claims of an imminent move for Paris Saint-Germain's backup goalkeeper Kevin Trapp originate from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato.

Trapp has dropped down the pecking order at the Parc des Princes, with young French stopper Alphonse Areola preferred, and Klopp will be aware of the talents of his compatriot.

But given the flimsy source, it remains highly unlikely Mignolet will be usurped next month.

The quarter denotes that there are four different flavors Included in this

a mix of crab and white cream

The crab sauce has plenty of crab packed into it making it so very yummy

Next is this

It's got chicken on it It's a teriyaki chicken pizza

the taters are yummy

I believe this one is a beef stroganoff pizza

It's slathered in beef stroganoff sauce And it's like I'm eating a beef stroganoff

It also has diced potatoes on it as well

What's great about pizzas is that they Combine melted cheese over a flavorful crust

Which is then mixed with all sorts of toppings Making it the 'bestest' stuff in the world. I totes love it

It's a very simple preparation using salami

Next up a winter quarter Featuring Japanese flavors

first up is this onion ?bacon?

It's loaded with chopped onions And it tastes great with bacon

This is a Japanese style Shrimp gratin

There are onions in this gratin sauce Giving the Gratin a Japanese feel to it

yummy It's even got shrimp as well

And this is teriyaki chicken I absolutely love it when it's cooked over a steel griddle

The chicken is so sweet and flavorful It's so yummy

With that added sprinkling of seaweed It totally gives it a Japanese-y flavor

The last what is going to be this mentai fish egg seafood pizza

the mentai fish egg and seaweed Are a perfect combination

SM STATIONs last release of the year will be concert audio featuring all SM Entertainment artists.

On December 28, it was revealed that Dear My Family will be released as the 38th track for the second season of SM STATION.

Dear My Family is an R&B ballad track that was released by SM producer Yoo Young Jin in 2001.

The SM STATION release will be audio of SM artists including Kangta, BoA, TRAX, Super Junior, Girls Generation, SHINee, f(x), Red Velvet, and NCT performing the song at the 2016 SMTOWN concert in Tokyo.

SM Entertainment shared, The Dear My Family music video will give a glimpse of photos with behind-the-scenes of the artists from the concert, and added that Jonghyuns voice and images of him performing will also be featured.

SM STATION release Dear My Family will be revealed on December 29 at 6 p.m.
