Liverpool FC's summer transfer plans include Napoli midfielder Jorginho

Napoli defensive midfielder Jorginho is at the top of Liverpools summer wish-list, according to reliable reports on Saturday.

The next transfer window may still be just under four months away, but Jurgen Klopp is already planning his summer business.

The Times Paul Joyce, one of the most reliable Liverpool journalists, has outlined who Klopp is eyeing up, with a new No.

6 very much in the managers thinking.

Jorginho is named as Klopps prime target, but Joyce admits the biggest downside to this pursuit is that he would be a first-choice midfield signing for just about every elite side in Europe.

That shows how significant acquiring his signature would be, with the 26-year-old one of Napolis most important players.

His defensive expertise and quality on the ball have helped take Maurizio Sarris team to the top of Serie A, and there are few more influential footballers in his position in Europe.

Many Liverpool supporters have been crying out for the club to bring in an out-and-out holding midfielder, with Jordan Henderson often seen as limited in the role.

Emre Can is likely to leave this summer, and it would seem Klopp realises the importance of a new recruit to dovetail with incoming signing Naby Keita.

As well as the interest in Jorginho, the Reds are said to be keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper—Simon Mignolet will move on at the end of the season—as well as a replacement for the departed Philippe Coutinho.

Roma stopper Alisson has been mooted as the main target to challenge Loris Karius next season, but Joyce reports that Liverpool have backed out of the chase for his signature for the time being.

This transfer news comes after Saturdays thrilling 4-1 win over West Ham, as Klopps men rose to second in the Premier League table.

Can, Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane were all on target, with some scintillating football on display at Anfield.

There is a feeling that this side is close to achieving something special, and signing the likes of Alisson and Jorginho can help turn them into title challengers.

Liverpool 4-1 West Ham: Reds up to 2nd with convincing victory at Anfield

Liverpool shrugged off another big test as they strolled to a 4-1 victory at home to West Ham in the Premier League on a cold Saturday afternoon.

After a lengthy break between fixtures, spending time in Marbella for warm-weather training, the Reds returned to action at Anfield.

Sandwiched between Man United and Chelsea, who play each other on Sunday, Liverpool needed a victory to push up to second in the table.

And despite illnesses for Georginio Wijnaldum, Ben Woodburn and Danny Ings, Jurgen Klopp made three changes to the side that won 5-0 at Porto last Wednesday, fielding a strong starting lineup.

The Hammers had experienced a recent upturn in fortunes, but Liverpool ultimately made light work of their opposition.

The Reds took control from the offset, with crisp passing play depriving the visitors of the ball, and Mohamed Salah struck the post within two-and-a-half minutes.

Klopp acknowledged the threat of West Hams stand-in striker Marko Arnautovic before the game, and the Austrian almost crafted a goal out of nothing as he lofted a shot over Loris Karius only for the No. 1 to tip it onto the bar.

Despite the Hammers holding firm in their defensive efforts in open play, ironically Liverpool got their breakthrough from a set-piece, with Emre Can heading home from Salahs corner.

Karius was forced into another save from Arnautovics swerving long-range effort from an angle, as the away side continued to test the Reds.

But with Klopps side seeing 65. 9 percent of possession in the opening 45 minutes they went into the break comfortably ahead, with hope for more goals in the second half.

Liverpool kept up the intensity after half-time, and had doubled their lead within six minutes, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlains mazy run crafting an opening for Salah to score his 31st goal of the season.

As the Reds momentum built the Hammers composure dropped, with Angelo Ogbonna in particular struggling in possession, with Salah continuing to lurk on the shoulder of David Moyes defence.

Their high line was caught off-guard by Can just before the hour mark, with the midfielder lifting the ball over for Roberto Firmino, who evaded Adrian to send a no-look shot into the back of the net.

Karius was denied a clean sheet, though, with substitute Michael Antonio peeling off in the right channel to latch onto Cheikhou Kouyates through ball and send it into the bottom corner.

After hitting the post when one-on-one with Adrian, Sadio Mane atoned for his mistake by tapping home from the impressive Andrew Robertsons cross to make it 4-1.

Klopp then took the opportunity to withdraw each of Firmino, Salah and Mane, providing Adam Lallana, Dominic Solanke and Alberto Moreno game time as the Reds saw out a convincing win.

We just can't go one week without learning about another dirty democrat.

I mean, seriously, the news just keeps coming!

It seems like the entire party is corrupt.

Democrats across the country are being exposed.

They are committing all sorts of atrocities.

Be it money laundering, bribery, scamming charities, or sexual harassment.

If there is something bad you can do as a politician, the Democrats are guilty of it.

So it shouldn't come as a shock that investigators were on the trail of one sick Democrat.

Looks like a Tennessee mayor was engaged in all sorts of illicit behavior.

And we're talking about really bad stuff.

Although the official denies it, law enforcement just got the evidence they needed to put the

nail in her coffin

From Tennessean: The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says

it has obtained nude photos of a woman taken on the phone of former Sgt.

Rob Forrest, evidence that investigators believe shows Nashville Mayor Megan Barry engaged

in an affair with her former bodyguard while he was on duty…

The affidavit cites explicit images of a woman's body found on Forrest's phone that appear

to be taken while he was on out-of-town trips with the mayor.

In short, the article is being nice.

What this is really saying is that Mayor Barry was the nude woman in the photos.

It is becoming quite clear that she had an affair on the taxpayers' dime, and perhaps

her lover Sgt.

Forrest was holding these photos for blackmail.

Sounds a lot like a made-for-TV-movie.

Also on Forrest's phone, subpoenaed by the TBI earlier this month, investigators have

uncovered 260 deleted chats between that device and Barry's phone number as well as 35 deleted

call logs, the affidavit states…

Based on the photos and deleted chats they discovered on Forrest's phone, the TBI says

it has probable cause to seek evidence they believe could show a crime was committed.

The affidavit cites state statutes for misconduct of public officials and employees and theft

of property.

It seems like Barry admitted to having the affair, but claims no crimes were committed.

Um, lady, that's bad enough.

An elected official, entrusted with running a city, should not be jumping into bed with

one of her staff on the citizens' dime.

Evidence suggests that the guard was engaging in sexual activity while on duty.

That crosses into some muddy waters.

What else was going on that Barry tried to hide?

Shouldn't voters know that they elected a shady person into office?

Surprise, surprise, despite being exposed, she refuses to step down.

Do all Democrats have mental problems?

This woman has been outed as violating her office and marriage.

The relationship could have created a conflict of interest and misuse of public funds.

That's enough to remove someone from office

The smart thing for her to do is step down and deal with this criminal investigation.

It's time to let someone else run the city.
