Why Most CVT Transmission Cars are Terrible - Duration: 6:20.
rev up your engines, welcome to my Thursday video where I answer a viewers
question with an entire video and today's question comes from John 9180,
I got a Nissan Altima with the CVT transmission, the stupid thing went out
when it only had 80,000 miles on it, is this something with Nissan's or is it a
problem that a lot of CVT have, well it's definitely a problem with the Nissan
cvts, and to understand how that affects a lot
of other cars, here's a little history lesson, now Nissan which also makes infinitys
like this 2004 Infiniti used to make pretty good automatic transmissions, this
one is a 5-speed automatic that's pretty bulletproof, but the like everybody else
they started to get worries about gas mileage and they went to fancier
transmissions like 7 speed, 9 speed, and the more speeds they put in them, the
more problems that they have as they wore out, sometimes reprogramming the computer
software for these fancier transmissions, helped the problems to some extent
sometimes it didn't do that much, but they're getting so complicated to get
better gas mileage that they've gone to CVT transmissions and as with most new
innovations, there's teething problems, CVT transmissions were around even in my
grandfather's day, but the metallurgy was so bad then, they'd slip like mad they
couldn't make it up a big hill, a lot better than it used to be but they're
still not really perfected from a lot of manufacturers, from my own experience and
a poll that I did with all the transmission experts that I've known
over the years, pretty much it was 100 percent agreement that Nissan
makes the worst CVT transmissions out there, they have the most problems, they
last the shortest amount of time and they cost an awful lot of money to rebuild
correctly, now Nissan transmissions are made by a company called Jatco, that's
a subsidiary of Nissan and that stands for Japanese automatic
transmission company, so don't automatically think that just cause it's
a Japanese company they're gonna make a great product, Jatcos had a lot of
problems with the CVT transmissions they put in Nissans, but you may not know
Jatco supplies automatic transmissions to lots of companies, they
use them in Nissan's, Mazda, Subaru, Isuzu, Suzuki, BMW, VW, mg, Land Rover,
Hyundai, Jaguar, Renault, and Chrysler, now Toyota they make their own CVT
transmissions, they use the company Aisin which they own a percentage of and they
have probably the least amount of problems of any of the CVT is out there
and that's probably because they've been mass producing the CVT transmissions
longer than anyone and has perfected them, the Toyota Priuses have CVT
transmissions because they're using both a gasoline engine and electric motor
because in a hybrid car you got to have input from the electric motor and the
gasoline motor and the CVT transmissions are easier to make so you can have
different inputs, a regular transmission is really made for only one input coming
from a gasoline motor, since the Prius has been out for twenty years now they
just did their 20th anniversary, Toyota has been whipping out those CVT
transmissions for two decades, so they got a leg up on everybody else
and the other car manufacturer that makes CVT for themselves, is Honda now
Honda has had problems with their automatic transmissions over the course
of time in a lot of their models, I haven't seen the same problem yet in
their CV T's so I'm assuming Honda is doing a better job making the CVTs than
Nissan is using Jatco, so if you're thinking about getting a car with
a CVT transmission, you might learn something from John's question, he had a
Nissan Altima, his Jatco CVT transmission went out at an early age it
cost a fortune to fix, so if you're planning on buying a car that has a CVT
transmission, my advice is this, do a little research on who actually made the
transmission and if you find that it's made by Jatco that Nissan affiliate
personally I wouldn't buy the car, because who wants a vehicle with a bad
automatic transmission and you might ask, hey why are they even putting these CVT
transmissions in a lot of the cars, well it's for one main reason, gas mileage the
CVT transmissions don't have gears that shift up and down, they're always going
in what's called the optimum RPMs power speed and gas mileage, it's all
computer-controlled, you can't even shift the car to get the
good gas mileage those get, it's gonna do it better than any human
being and with the pressure on manufacturers to get better and better
gas mileage, they're going to be going to all these types of technologies and CVT
is one that is pretty much going to be a universal if you ask me in the future
for gasoline and diesel cars, and who knows maybe in the future Jatco will get
their act together and make really good CVT because you have to realize that the
use of the jaco transmissions, hey like in the case of Chrysler, they had a
six-speed dual-clutch transmission they were working on that was way behind
schedule, so as a last-minute thing, oh they decided we're gonna buy CVT from
Jatco, so they didn't have to do the research development who's to say that
it's a correct mix, they just kind of, oh well ours didn't work so let's try
something else and sticking it in on our cars, me I'll take decades of Engineering
like Aisin does with theirs that have been in Prius is for 20 years, they started
perfecting them and get them better and better and better, rather than a company just
saying oh I guess we can't make CVT ourselves, so let's buy them from somebody
else and throw them in our cars and see what happens, because slowly perfecting
things hey, it might be boring but everybody really wants a boring
transmission in their car that just keeps working and never breaks down and
you don't have to think about it, and since this is the Thursday segment where

South Korea has become the first country to export a hundred billion dollars' worth of
memory chips in a year.
The trade ministry says the record was set on Tuesday, October 16th.
The closest any other country got to that feat are the United States and Japan.
Each exported about sixty billion dollars in 2000 and about fifty billion dollars in
2007.
Seoul's accomplishment comes twenty-four years after its chip exports passed ten-billion
dollars in 1994.
Since 2008, the nation celebrated 'Semiconductor Day' every October to commemorate that previous
milestone.

Two Koreas, UN Command wrap up disarmament of Joint Security Area - Duration: 1:47.
The two Koreas and the UN Command have completed disarming the Joint Security Area.
After the three sides conduct an on-site inspection.... visitors will be able to freely cross the
Military Demarcation Line.

People from the two Koreas will soon be able to cross the border at the Joint Security
Area for the first time in over four decades.
The two Koreas and the UN Command finished the process of disarming the JSA in the Demilitarized
Zone on Thursday afternoon.
In accordance with the inter-Korean military agreement signed last month, the three sides
have removed guard posts and firearms from the JSA,... hoping to reduce tensions and
prevent accidental clashes.
Starting Friday, the two Koreas and the UN Command will carry out a two-day joint inspection
to ensure the complete disarmament of the JSA.
After a pilot period and more detailed measures to prevent defectors are implemented, not
only Korean visitors but also foreign tourists will be allowed to cross the Military Demarcation
Line between 9 AM and 5 PM.
The two Koreas will station 35 soldiers including five officers from each side for surveillance
purposes,... but they will only wear yellow armbands that read "Panmunjeom Civil Police"
and they won't carry firearms.
The South and North conducted a 20-day joint demining project at the JSA from October 1st.
The two Koreas and the UN Command verified the clearance of land mines on Monday at their
second three-way meeting.
Since two American soldiers were killed by North Korean personnel in the JSA in 1976,
crossing over the Military Demarcation Line in the area had been strictly forbidden.

complete.
Today, lawmakers engaged in a heated debate over the Moon administration's economic policies,

Under the spotlight in Thursday's parliamentary audit is, once again,... the ministry of economy
and finance, as rival parties question the Moon administration's latest policies on job
creation announced the previous day.
Lawmakers from the opposition parties criticized the government's goal to create 59,000 jobs,
saying it's only a temporary fix that creates short-term work.
Lawmakers with the ruling party fought back, claiming that the short-term jobs are just
part of the government's policies, and stressed that they're aimed at boosting investment
and pursue innovative growth.
Meanwhile, in the audit of the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, lawmakers are questioning prosecutors
about their investigation into an abuse of power scandal in the judiciary.
That involves the Supreme Court and its former chief justice Yang Sung-tae , who allegedly
sought to use high-profile trials as leverage in possible negotiations with the former Park
Geun-hye administration.
The ruling party urged prosecutors to conduct a thorough investigation into the case, while
the main opposition party accused the government of political retaliation against the previous
conservative government.
The floor leaders of the nation's four major parties, excluding the main opposition Liberty
Korea Party, announced later in the day that they will push for a motion to set up a special
panel of judges who can pursue a fair and transparent investigation.
Elsewhere, the Defense committee and the Culture committee held on-site inspections of some
regional departments.
However, due to a boycott by the main opposition party over the government's ratification of
the Pyeongyang Declaration… the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee, and the
Transport committee... had to either cancel their on-site inspections or go ahead with

audiobooks right now this is true and as all of my students in publishing Ali
lifetime or in the billion book strategy know we've been publishing an audio for
quite some time now and so we're well ahead of the curve I mean you've got one
of the most advanced audio book courses out there right now embedded within the
billion book strategy it's always been there but I digress when it comes to
audio actually a lot of people don't know this well my students know it but a
lot of people are lost on the aspect I'm going to tell you about right now and
that is that the audio book market it's not hard it's actually pretty easy the
biggest challenge with it is content getting content to put into books
to put into audio books like most things that you put out there they're gonna
sell so all the old books it's not so much a matter of marketing there's no
marketing in audio books I mean let's be real here there's absolutely no
marketing involved in audiobooks as long as you're publishing a book under a
halfway-decent keyword it's gonna sell
you don't have to do much to make a book sell in audio and the reviews well those
are easy to get it's not like Kindle so the real challenge with audio it's
surely the content how fast can you get content out there and that's kind of
what the billion book strategy is all about it's a hack a hack for developing
a source of billions of books now I'm not gonna say anything more about the
billion book strategy if you want to know about the billion book strategy

it and check it out but yeah definitely the best audio book course out there
right now well it's actually more than just an audio book course and I'm gonna
leave it at that because it's too powerful and my students don't want me
promoting it because the less competition we have on that end that
knows what's up the more market share there is for us because every time

anyway I'm veering way off topic here the point is content if you have a solid
supply of content then in audio you're gonna do just fine so where do you get
content well I guess you could order some books on Fiverr
no--don't other books on Fiverr I'm just playing with you and if you want to know
why I'm telling you not to order books on Fiverr then just click the little

you could order books from one of those writing services like a writer solutions
or one of the many others but I recommend that you don't because in the
end they're gonna give you a piece of crap you're gonna have to edit that
piece of crap and it's gonna take you more work to edit that than writing a
book yourself I'm not kidding here I know because I've tried them out I've
spoken with others who have tried them out as well we all kind of agree on this
and I'm not just picking on that company all these writing companies that charge
you between a hundred to two hundred for ten thousand words they're all going
to give you kind of that same level of quality the type of quality that needs
serious editing now of course you could just not edit it publish it
give your book to a narrator that you're paying for and let that narrator just
read the thing with mistakes in it now the audiobook market it is so good that
I'm pretty sure you're still going to make sales even if you do it that way
but at one point or another the bad reviews are going to start rolling on in
and as the audio book market fills up with more and more books those books are
going to be pushed further and further down in the rankings to the point where
they're barely earning you a dime so as a short-term strategy yeah you could use
a writing service but don't believe that you're gonna keep getting a passive
income for years to come from that anyone who tells you that is lying to
you
but anyway yeah the audiobook market it's a real good market to get into it's
just a content problem where are you going to get your content and that's the
real trick but if you've got that source of content if you've got a source of
billions of books then you're gonna do just fine but yeah if you've been into
audiobooks for a while and you're hearing this fuss about this audio book
publishing goldrush don't even worry about it
just keep doing what you're doing keep publishing audiobooks a lot of this Gold
Rush stuff it's just a bunch of hype most of these newbies coming into
audiobooks they're gonna start publishing they're gonna start dealing
with these narrators they're not gonna see any money right away and then when
they see the money they're gonna realize it's not what they thought it was and
they're gonna pull out because to last in this audiobook game it takes
perseverance and most of these people jumping in right now they don't have
that kind of perseverance I can tell you that not only that they're working off
of inferior strategies where they've got to basically pay through the nose to get
a book out there and the work involved on the editing most of them can't handle
that kind of work it's just a lot of hype so don't even worry about it
there's no gold rush it's the same as it's always been just keep publishing
keep pumping more books out there and that's how you're gonna see success
now I'd like to talk about something else
I'd like to talk about the publishing industry in general and I'd like to
thank a lot of you my subscribers and my students because a lot of you came to me
and you said that you liked my last video a lot it opened your eyes to some
things you didn't realize before and for those of you who haven't seen my last

you called the FTC and you reported the people out there who are scamming people
I thank you because it takes a lot of courage to call the FTC and to report

these scammers they get away with it for a little while but none of them last
very long there were some people recently who were teaching others how to
make money on Amazon in the FTC Gotham and the FTC is especially concerned with
Amazon right now and those teaching people how to make money on Amazon now
the people who got busted that I'm referring to they weren't dealing with
publishing they were teaching FBA which if you don't know FBA means fulfillment
by Amazon it's basically starting a store on Amazon and selling physical
goods which is a bit different than publishing but it's not so far off we
haven't actually seen anyone get busted yet in publishing and when I say get
busted I mean get busted for making unsubstantiated income claims like
saying I make $12,000 a month or saying you could make $12,000 a month and even
if it's true it's illegal to say it because such income claims are
unsubstantiated if you're gonna make an income claim you have to do it in
accordance with the FTC's lines otherwise you're a scammer and
what are the FTC's guidelines to substantiate an income claim well it's
very simple you simply have to put a rapport though wherever you make that
income claim wherever you're selling something of course or you have an
affiliate link there if you have to put up a report to validate your income
claim to substantiate it and if you don't substantiate it you're illegal now
how the FTC decides to go after you it basically depends on how many reports
they get about you
and my followers thank you for reporting these people you are true heroes by
doing so because you're taking down scammers and you know there were two
guys who were teaching Kindle publishing courses and it looked like they were
about to go down that the FTC was gonna go after them and if the FTC did go
after them they'd go to prison for it and both of those guys got out of
teaching Kindle publishing now one of them wasn't from the US so when you're
not from the US you're a bit harder to get it takes a bit more for the FTC to
go after you but the one who was in the u.s. he was smart and actually he was
ignorant at first because he didn't think he was doing anything wrong and
then when he read up and he realized the penalties you didn't see him on YouTube
anymore he just disappeared that's because he's an American and he realizes
what they're gonna do to him if he continues but yeah on Kindle publishing
right now it's dirty it's quite a dirty environment you have these scammers they
make these income claims because they're so desperate to sell their product and
they don't even know the law they're not even professional because if they knew
the law they would realize what they stand to lose by making such claims and
yeah I'm fired up about it because it's my industry Kindle publishing
self-publishing whatever you want to call it it's publishing and I don't like
these scammers in my industry now I know who they are I'm on their email lists I
read the funny little emails that they send me whenever I get one of these
emails from these scammers and it says you can make 10 grand a month
I just screenshot it put it in a special folder so when the FTC gives me a call
and I'm expecting one I can just tell them here's my little folder of evidence
here you go because we've got a problem in Kindle publishing in self-publishing
in all of publishing and I urge you to take action now I know you got nothing
again what's the point to do anything just let others do it right but if
you're not part of the solution then you're part of the problem at least
that's the way I see it but yeah for those of you who did take action you
should be proud of yourselves because you're helping our industry because
we've had enough we're sick of this filth in our industry and so we all need
to unite and clean up self-publishing and for those of you who are like I
don't know the number to the FTC bang there it is for you just call up say my
name is Joe Smith these people are making unsubstantiated income claims
they say I can make ten thousand dollars a month I'd like to report them you
don't have to have bought their product however if you did buy their product and
you're not making ten thousand a month or whatever it is they claim well then
you were one of the scams because they sold you on that income claim
now let's see here I actually received some comments on my last YouTube video
and the comments disappeared mysteriously but I'd like to answer
those comments right here and right now now I'm not sure why the comments got
removed I was in the process of answering them but when I hit the send
button to send my answer it didn't go through it said like some kind of error
so it led me to believe that something happened I don't know what I'm not gonna
theorize about it but I'm gonna answer them here and let's get into it okay so
the first comment is from the Mickelson twins and they said maybe others aren't
as skilled as us to pull off those kinds of numbers we only teach based on
personal experience perhaps you missed the part where I said if you do it all
wrong you're not going to make much money at all this is common sense it
doesn't matter if you have a disclaimer for an unsubstantiated income claim it's
still an unsubstantiated income clean now I'm not a lawyer so everything in
this video is just my opinion but that's my understanding as to how it works
based on what I've read and I've read a lot about this stuff the way the FTC
sees it when you make the claim disclaimer or no disclaimer the consumer
still believes the claim so the disclaimer is irrelevant when you make
an income claim you have to substantiate that income claim in accordance with the
FTC's rules for substantiating an income claim you can't just pop a disclaimer
there and hope that that makes that unsubstantiated income claim suddenly
okay it doesn't make it okay okay and this comment was from Jacob Rothenberg I
hope I'm pronouncing that correctly and he gives a link to www.hsn.com and he
says why is ty Lopez still around after spending years of
making income claims he's one of the top players and I am right now
what's your take and I checked the link there and in that link he does make a
lot of income claims but he's not selling anything there
in fact he's giving you a free course so he's giving something for free he's not
selling anything there's no price there's no Buy Now button so at that
link that you put in your comment Tai Lopez isn't doing anything wrong
he's alright now I don't keep track of all of Tai Lopez's stuff but he did have
an issue with the FTC recently which you know I don't actually know the full
situation you can google it you can type in Tai Lopez FTC you can google it I
don't see him making any income claims not on any products that he's selling so
yeah Tai Lopez is fine because he knows what
he's doing he's aware of the FTC's guidelines and he knows if he breaks
them and what the risks are and you don't see him breaking them because he
does not want to deal with them but yeah he's okay he's legit I have no problems
with his channel what he's doing he's kind of funny I like the guy and also
he's not even in my industry so I don't really care about him so much what I do
care about our scammers who are in my industry and all I'm doing is stating
the facts I'm not pointing fingers at anyone I'm just stating that I don't
like scammers in my industry I think we need to change this aspect of our
industry because it hurts the whole industry that's all I've gotta say on it
okay that's all the comments that disappeared
so I hope I've answered everyone's comment now if you made a comment and I
didn't see it and I didn't answer it and I'm leaving you out well I do apologize
and you can leave one right below this video and hopefully it sticks and I can
answer your comments other than that yep we're cleaning up Kindle publishing what
are you gonna do when the industry comes after you I'm calling everyone in this
industry let's clean it up because I'll tell you what these scammers do they
hurt the whole industry they hurt the consumer because they're scamming them
and so they give the consumer a negative view of the industry and so the consumer
walks away bitter and he thinks every product in the industry is now a scam so
they hurt their competitors because people think that every person with the
Kindle publishing course even if they're legit and honest people assume that
everyone is a scam now and not just people selling courses I'm talking about
other products to other products and services in the publishing industry
people then assume the whole thing is just one big scam so we don't want these
scammers in our industry let's clean it up and you know what not only are the
people who make the unsubstantiated income claims scammers but so is anyone
who promotes their course through an affiliate link because when you promote
their course through an affiliate link and they're making unsubstantiated
income claims well guess what you're promoting that so that makes you also
technically illegal so anyone that you see with an affiliate link promoting an
illegal product yeah report them to the FTC to of course you can do it in the
same phone call you just add to your report oh yeah and I saw this person and
this person has an affiliate link to this product and this person was
promoting it the FTC will take down that information and the only way we're going
to see change the only way we're going to make this
into an honest industry is by wiping out all the scammers and how do you do that
just number of reports to the FTC
so for those of you who have been on the fence who don't like these scammers who
haven't reported them to the FTC yet I urge you I strongly urge you to do so
let's take him out into the scammers who whine and complain
Kait ninja whether you have to keep encouraging people to report us to the
FTC because what you're doing is illegal you're a scammer and we're gonna take
you down and I'm not gonna stop encouraging people to report you to the
FTC I'm gonna keep on doing it because you should be reported to the FTC
why shouldn't you be why do you think you're special you're ripping off the
consumers you're using deceptive marketing tactics if you want to claim
to be legit then you have to substantiate your income claims and you
have to do it the way the FTC says to do it and if you can't do that and you're
gonna continue to make your claims whether on YouTube or in your Facebook
group or through email
