I discovered that
those who have a dream,
those who feel called
to do something
in the world,
no matter to what scale,
but those who feel called
to do something
have a fear that stops them.
And I discovered
it's the same fear
in many different shapes and forms.
And the fear goes like:
What if no one's going to like it?
What if no one's going to respond?
What if when I put myself out there
I get rejected?
What if there will be crickets?
What if...
I will have...
nobody buying my thing
or responding to my message?
So, that seems to be the biggest fear
that stops
people from putting their message,
from stepping out
to do what they feel
deeply inside their heart to do.
And this is really interesting
and funny in a way.
I mean, funny not in a...
diminishing way.
But when we actually think about it,
because the fear is only real
when it sits inside our mind
uninspected
and unvoiced.
So, when it's inside the mind
uninspected and unvoiced,
it sounds really scary.
And it feels so real.
But, actually, when we voice it
and when we inspect it,
there's nothing to it.
So, let's look at this one,
for example.
You feel called,
let's say, you feel called
to do something important.
No matter what the scale, right?
But in your heart you know that
you are called to do something,
you are called to make a change,
you are called to make a difference.
You feel deeply
about something.
And then there's this fear of:
Okay, well... I feel this way,
but if I put myself really out
then what if
I'm not going to be received well?
Whether it's going to be rejected,
or put down, or whatever.
But the thing about this is
if you do not put yourself out,
you are already rejected.
You see?
If you actually do not
break through
this glass...
glass wall,
then you are already
having crickets.
You are already rejected.
There already is no response.
Because you haven't put yourself out.
So, I find this very interesting,
and that's what I mean by funny,
because...
actually, by not
breaking through
that fear
we are already rejecting ourselves.
So, look at your fear,
voice it,
inspect it,
maybe journal about it.
If you have a coach
speak about it to a coach
because that always helps
to hear it from somebody else.
And your own fear
voiced back to you
by somebody else
will sound to you
quite ridiculous, actually.
So...
do whatever you can
to really see that fear for what it is,
and then I really hope
that you can break through that glass,
and step out,
and share whatever message
you feel compelled to share.
And do
whatever you feel compelled
to do in your heart.
To step forward,
to step up
and do what needs to be done.
