Land tax is an annual tax,
levied on the site value of land in Victoria.
You have to pay land tax
when the site value of all the taxable properties you own
exceeds a $250,000 threshold.
Land tax is based on the land you own at
midnight on 31 December.
Your 2018 assessment is based on the taxable land
you own at midnight on 31 December 2017.
There are a range of exemptions from land tax
including for your home and your farm.

In order to calculate land tax
we use site valuations.
The site value is the taxable value of your property.
If you disagree with a site valuation
shown on your assessment
you have two months to object.
You can do this by completing and submitting
the valuation objection form on our website.
Your statement of lands should
list all the properties you owned
at midnight on 31 December 2017.
The taxable value of each property will be shown
and any exemptions and surcharges.
If you dispose of property during 2018
it will be removed from your assessment next year.
If you are an absentee owner
there is a surcharge on your land tax assessment.

Land held on trust may also attract a trust surcharge

If you own land with others, you're a joint owner of land.
We assess joint owners for land tax in a different way.
We assess each unique combination of joint owners together
in a joint ownership assessment,
before assessing each owner individually.

Whats up
I just picked up my HC-X1 and ever since all I wanna do is:
[Zoom a zoom zoom zoom and a boom boom]
The deep zoom is one of the reasons I mortgaged my house for this camera, and it makes the
camera very versatile compared to a regular DSLR.
Zooming in can get you amazing shots of things you can't physically get close to.
It also provides really great looking shots with the blurred background look.
The camera has several zoom options including a 20x optical zoom, an intellegent zoom, a
digital zoom, 2 different customizable zoom rockers
[Just shake your rump]
So Lets shake our rumps as we go through all of the zooming options on the HCX1.
[Looking at the Zooming Options]
The camera has a traditional zoom ring that you can operate with your hand on the front
of the camera and On the top of the camera you will find 2 zoom rockers.
The one on the right where you may typically hold the camera is pressure sensitive and
with a little bit of practice you can manually use the correct zoom technique you are looking
for.
The harder you press the faster the zoom.
Slooooooow.
Faaaasssttt.
By default, when you press zoom as hard as you can, it goes in fairly quickly, but when
you are out in the world sometimes it feels soooo slow.
That is where FAST ZOOM comes in.
An option hidden in the menus.
You can set it as a user button and turn it on and off, but I just go into the menu, go
to SW Settings and then set it to be on at all times.
Fast zoom gets you from point A to point B in a matter of seconds, so you never miss
anything waiting for the zoom.
And the best part is that you can still zoom slow if you press it softly.
If you really suck at pressure zoom, or if you want to make sure you get a smooth consistent
zoom, then you will want to use the other zoom button on the top of the camera.
No matter how hard you press this baby, it will stay constant.
By default it is quite slow, but you can customize the speed going in the menu, going to SW Setup,
and scrolling up to Sub Zoom, choosing your speed 1-7.
The camera also features 2 other zoom functions that can be programmed into user buttons,
d.zoom digital zoom which has 3 levels that extends the zoom 2x, 5x and 10x but hurts
the quality, and i.zoom intelligent zoom which takes the zoom from 20x-30x without hurting
quality, but it only works in the smaller FHD mode, so you really don't need to be concerned
with it unless you are shooting in FHD.
Just remember that if you aren't using a tripod, you will have to be very very still to capture
what you want without insane shaking ruining the shot.
More zoom = more shake.
You will probably want to use manual focus as well.
Make sure OIS is on.
Practice, stabilize yourself and the camera, get the perfect focus, hold your breath and
don't
[just shake your rump] ==
Overall I really like the 20x optical zoom on the camera.
It adds a dimension to my footage I can't get with my DSLR and gives me the nice blurred
background on certain shots.
Some other videos have mentioned slightly noticeable chromatic aberration, but I think
it looks really good.
Just remember to stay away from digital zoom and always.

COURT TALK FOR NEW CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS TO DRAW BECAUSE RIGHT
NOW THE ONCE THEY HAVE ARE PURPOSEFULLY DESIGNED TO OVERLY
HELP REPUBLICANS IN COMPARISON OF THE SHARE OF THE VOTE THAT
THEY
GET.
IT'S ONE OF THE WORST EXAMPLES OF CONGRESSIONAL
GERRYMANDERING THAT WE HAVEN'T SO NOW, THOSE NEW DISTRICTS NEED
TO BE DRAWN UP.
THERE WAS ANOTHER STEP ACTUALLY, TO HELP THEM CREATE THOSE NEW
DISTRICTS:
BASICALLY, INFORMATION THAT YOU NEED SO THAT YOU CAN CREATE THIS
NEW DISTRICTS AND SO THAT THOSE NEW DISTRICTS YOU CREATE ARE
ACTUALLY MORE FAIR AND ACTUALLY REPRESENT A COMMUNITY RATHER
THAN A COMPUTER CRAFTED WAY TO GET AS MANY REPUBLICAN
CONGRESSMEN AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN.
THAT ALL SOUNDS GOOD BUT
UNFORTUNATELY THE REPUBLICANS IN THE STATE HAVE LISTENS AND THEY
HEARD, THE SUPREME COURT WANTS US TO DO THAT.
THEY HAVE
DECIDED.
NO, WE'RE NOT GOING TO DO THAT AND SO THE LEAD
REPUBLICAN IN THE STATE SENATE IS FIGHTING BACK AGAINST THIS
AND PUT OUT
A STATEMENT SAYING:
THIS IS ONE OF TWO WAYS THAT THEY ARE ATTEMPTING TO DESTROY
THIS EFFORT TO GERRYMANDER PENNSYLVANIA OR AT LEAST THE
LAYOUT SO THAT IT CANNOT GO INTO EFFECT THIS YEAR'S ELECTIONS.
THE OTHER IS A MORE TRADITIONAL WAY AND THAT IS AWAY REPUBLICANS
IN THE OTHER STATES THAT HAVE HAD THE SAME SORTS OF CHANGES
ARE FIGHTING AGAINST IT.
LOOK, I AM AN AMERICAN.
I PAY ATTENTION AND I ALSO TAUGHT
POLITICAL SCIENCE COURSES.
I UNDERSTAND A LITTLE BIT ABOUT
THE DISTRIBUTION OF POWER BETWEEN BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT.

BEEN FOLLOWING THAT FOR WELL OVER 200 YEARS IN THIS COUNTRY
AND THERE IS A GREAT REASON FOR THAT AND WHAT IT DOES IS IT
CREATES STABILITY AND YOU KNOW HOW THE POWER IS PROPORTIONED
WITHIN THE DIFFERENT BRANCHES OF GOVERNMENT.

REPUBLICANS ARE DOING IS DANGEROUS ON A LOT OF FRONTS.
TRUMP IS ATTACKING THE RULE OF LAW AT THE FEDERAL LEVELS SAYING
DO NOT BELIEVE THE FBI, SOME OF HER SUPPORTERS GOING TO BE IN
SAY WE SHOULD NOT ONLY FIRE PEOPLE AT THE FBI, WE SHOULD
ARREST THEM AND PUT THEM IN PRISON IF THEY DO NOT AGREE WITH

NOW THE LOCAL LEVEL WE HAVE REPUBLICANS SAYING MARBURY V
MADISON BE DAMNED, OUR SEPARATION IN POWER IN THE
CONSTITUTION BE
DAMNED, LET'S HAVE LAWLESSNESS BECAUSE OF THE LEGISLATURE WON'T
LISTEN TO THE COURTS THEN HOW DO WE DECIDE ANYTHING?

YOU HAVE TOTALLY TRASHED THE RULE OF LAW
SO PLEASE DO NOT PRETEND YOU ARE FOR IT BECAUSE, IF YOU'RE A

DECIDED BY THE LEGISLATURE BUT YOU HAVE TO LET THE COURT DECIDE
AND IF THEY REALLY AGAINST YOU YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW IT.
HE SAYS
I DO NOT WANT TO DIE IF IT IS FOR ME GRAY, I WENT.
IF THEY
REALLY AGAINST ME I JUST IGNORE THEM.
THEN WE ARE NOT A COUNTRY
OF LAWS ANYMORE AND A COURT DID NOT SAY I'M NOT GOING TO MAKE
ALL OF THESE PLACES WEIRDLY GERRYMANDERED IN FAVOR OF THE
DEMOCRATS.
OF COURSE NOT.
THE COURT SAID THAT YOU CANNOT
DIVIDE ANY COUNTY, CITY, WARD EXPECTED EXCEPT WHERE NECESSARY
TO ENSURE QUALITY POPULATION.
AND BY THE WAY, THAT MIGHT NOT
BE THE DEMOCRATS ADVANTAGE.
IN PENNSYLVANIA THE DEMOCRATS ARE
CONCENTRATED IN BIG CITIES LIKE PITTSBURGH AND PHILLY.
THE
COURT IS NOT TELLING YOU, WE WILL GET THE REPUBLICANS AND
THEN WE WILL DRAW THE DISTRICT LIKE THIS TO GIVE THE DEMOCRATS
AN ADVANTAGE.
RIGHT NOW THEY ARE DRAWN UP IN A PREPOSTEROUS

THE REPUBLICANS
HAVE 13 OUT OF 18 SEATS.
THERE IS SOMETHING GREATLY
UNDEMOCRATIC ABOUT THAT AND THIS IS NOT A NATIONAL ISSUE, THIS IS
STRICTLY A PENNSYLVANIA ISSUE.
THE PENNSYLVANIA SUPREME COURT
HAS RULED IT SHOULD BE OVER BUT LOOK, THEY DO NOT NEED HIS
COOPERATION HUNDRED PERCENT.
THEY COULD GET THE DATA FROM
OTHER PEOPLE AND THEY'VE ARTIE PUT IN A PROCESS AND THEY WILL
DRAW THE LINES BUT I THINK THAT THEY NEED TO ENFORCE PRECEDENT
HERE AND THEY SHOULD HOLD HIM IN CONTEMPT OF COURT AND IF HE DOES
NOT GIVE WITH THE COURT HAS ORDERED, THEY SHOULD LOOK THEM
UP.
WE ARE GOING TO HAVE LAWLESSNESS IF ALL OF A SUDDEN
ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY REPUBLICANS GO IF I WIN, GREAT,
IF I LOSE, I IGNORE IT.
THEN WE HAVE MADNESS AND THAT IS NOT OUR
SYSTEM.
WE HAVE A CONSTITUTIONAL SYSTEM.
YOU MUST
LISTEN TO THE COURTS.
I AM NOT KIDDING AND I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE
IF HE GETS A THREAT OF ACTUALLY BEING PUT IN JAIL HE MIGHT
WISING UP AND GO RIGHT, CONSTITUTION.

THE SORTS OF THINGS ALLOWING OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE TO BECOME
JUST AN EXPECTED THING AND THAT ADDS UP OVER TIME AND YOU HAVE
TO CHECK IT WHEREVER POSSIBLE.
THIS IS CERTAINLY THE PLACE TO
