Youtube daily report Oct 24 2018

Hi, I'm Laia Blavi and I'm a postdoctoral researcher in the Stein Monogastric Nutrition

Laboratory at the University of Illinois.

Today I will be talking about the effect of a novel phytase on growth performance, bone

ash, and calcium and phosphorus digestibility in diets fed to growing pigs.

Corn is one of the most important feed ingredients in swine diets, and between 60 to 70% of the

total phosphorus is bound to phytate.

Phytate is a mixed salt of phytic acid and consists on a myo-inositol ring with six phosphates.

Phytic acid may form insoluble salts with several divalent cations such as calcium,

zinc, iron, etc.

Therefore, phytate can inhibit the absorption of these minerals.

In addition, phosphorus in this form is not available for pigs and poultry, because they

don't have enough endogenous phytase.

Therefore, swine and poultry diets are supplemented with inorganic phosphorus, like monocalcium

phosphate or dicalcium phosphate.

But high phytate-phosphorus excretion in manure is a potential source of environmental pollution.

To reduce the problems that I mention before, we can add phytase in the diets.

Phytase hydrolyzes the phosphomonoester bond of phytate and releases the phosphorus and

also the other minerals like calcium.

Therefore, phytase increases the digestibility of phosphorus and calcium.

Phytases are found in plants, animal tissues and microorganisms, like bacteria, fungi and

yeast.

Microbial phytase is commonly used as a feed additive and is produced by fermentation,

which requires special care in feed processing and diet formulation.

Therefore, the industry has been looking for an alternative phytase that could be cost-effective.

One of these alternative strategies is producing genetically engineered livestock to secrete

phytase in saliva.

However, pigs GMO are not highly accepted by the consumers.

Another strategy is producing transgenic crops that express low phytate levels or microbial

phytase.

However, crops that express low phytate levels have problems with germination because phytate

is necessary for it.

Therefore, of all the strategies mention before, only crops expressing microbial phytase is

a viable strategy today.

Corn is an attractive source for the production of transgenic plants expressing phytase since

it does not require extreme heat during postharvest processing, unlike soybean and canola.

The transgenic plant expressing phytase is generated by microbial phytase-encoding genes

with desired properties cloned and inserted in order to yield increased levels of phytase.

So, we will have corn with phytase expressed in the grain, and then the grain is milled

and is ready for use as a feed additive.

Therefore, the objective was to determine the effect of graded levels of the novel corn-expressed

E. coli phytase GraINzyme in diets fed to weanling pigs on growth performance, bone

ash, bone calcium and phosphorus, and the digestibility of calcium and phosphorus.

To carry on this trial, we used a total of 60 weanling pigs with an initial average body

weight of 10.78 kg.

Pigs were randomly distributed to six dietary treatments, so we had ten pigs per treatment.

The diets were based on corn and soybean meal and contained titanium dioxide as an indigestible

marker.

The six dietary treatments were the positive control diet, the negative control diet and

the negative control diet plus 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 FTU of graINzyme.

In the positive control diet, all nutrients were supplied according to the recommendations

of NRC 2012.

The negative control diet was similar to the positive control diet with the exception that

inclusion of calcium was reduced 0.20 percentage units, and inclusion of phosphorus was reduced

by 0.18 percentage units.

The rest of the diets were similar to the negative control diet but with 500, 1000,

2000 and 4000 units of phytase included.

Diets were offered on ad libitum basis.

Pigs' weights were recorded at the beginning of the experiment and on the last day of the

experiment, day 28.

Feed intake was recorded during all trial in order to calculate the average daily feed

intake.

During the last three days of the experiment, a fecal sample was collected from all pigs

by anal stimulation.

On the last day of the experiment, all pigs were euthanized and the right femur was removed

to analyze the bone ash, bone calcium and bone phosphorus.

I will start explaining the results of growth performance.

All the results I will present follow the same pattern.

In the X axis, it is represented the six dietary treatments: the positive control, negative

control, and the negative control plus 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 FTU.

And in the Y axis, it is represented the variable response, in this case the body weight.

The orange bars represent the initial body weight and the blue bars represent the final

body weight.

There were no differences among treatments in the initial body weight.

However, there was a reduction in final body weight of pigs fed the negative control diet

compared with pigs fed the positive control diet.

But the addition of phytase in the negative control diet increased quadratically the final

body weight.

So, there were no differences between pigs fed the negative control diet plus 4000 FTU

and pigs fed the positive control diet.

The results of average daily gain are represented with the orange bars and the results of average

daily feed intake are represented with the blue bars.

Pigs fed the negative control diet had lower average daily gain and average daily feed

intake compared with pigs fed the positive control diet.

The addition of phytase increased linearly the average daily feed intake and quadratically

the average daily gain.

So, there were no differences between pigs fed the positive control diet and pigs fed

the negative control diet plus 4000 FTU of GraINzyme.

The gain to feed ratio results follow the same pattern.

Pigs fed the negative control diet had lower gain to feed ratio than pigs fed the positive

control diet.

Gain to feed ratio increased linearly as the concentration of phytase added to the negative

control diet increased.

And there were no differences between the positive control diet and the negative control

diet plus 4000 FTU of GraINzyme.

Now I will show the results of total amount of bone ash, bone calcium and bone phosphorus.

Bone ash is represented in the light blue bars, bone calcium in the orange bars and

bone phosphorus in the dark blue bars.

Pigs fed the negative control diet had lower total amount of bone ash, bone calcium and

phosphorus compared with pigs fed the positive control diet.

Bone ash, bone calcium and phosphorus linearly increased as the concentration of phytase

added to the negative control diet increased.

So, there were no differences between the positive control diet and negative control

diet plus 4000 FTU of GraINzyme.

And finally, the results of apparent total tract digestibility of calcium, represented

in orange bars, and phosphorus in blue bars.

There was a reduction in apparent total tract digestibility of calcium and phosphorus of

pigs fed the negative control diet compared with pigs fed the positive control diet.

The addition of phytase increased quadratically the apparent total tract digestibility of

calcium and phosphorus when added to the negative control diet.

And pigs fed the negative control diet plus 4000 FTU of graINzyme had higher ATTD of calcium

and phosphorus compared with pigs fed the positive control diet.

Therefore, the conclusions are: Addition of GraINzyme to the negative control diet increased

the growth performance, the total amount of bone ash, bone calcium and bone phosphorus

and the apparent total tract digestibility of calcium and phosphorus.

And 4000 FTU of GraINzyme phytase allows for reduced added phosphorus and calcium.

The take home message is that GraINzyme is an effective phytase that may be used to reduce

added inorganic calcium and phosphorus in diets for weanling pigs.

And with that I would like to thank Agrivida for the financial support, and my fellow lab

members.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Welcome to another episode of UEN PDTV.

Michael Hakkarinen from the UEN PD department.

And I'm here today at Joel P. Jensen Middle

School with Dustin Plott.

Dustin, you teach social studies to eighth and ninth graders.

That's correct.

Yes.

Cool.

And today, thank you so much for letting us come in.

Oh, thank you.

And have the kids explore with Google Expeditions.

This group of kids that come in after school, tell us

a little bit about who they are, and how this got started.

Well, they've been doing STEM here

at Joel P. Jensen for a few years.

And this is my second year doing it.

And typically, these kids are overachievers.

They want a little extra curricular activity.

They gravitate towards technology.

And so a lot of them want to do either--

we have a robotics program here and also a programming,

coding program here.

And so we alternate days.

But they're welcome to come to any of them

that they'd like to.

So Mr. Plott, the expeditions that we

did with the VR, that was a first time for me

doing that activity.

Have your students done any VR work before?

Not in STEM.

I know from speaking with them today, a number of them

have done other VR at home or other places.

But this was our first VR experience here at JPJ.

So what do you think about it?

Do you think that mixed reality, ARV, or stuff, is it a gimmick?

Or do you see a place for it in education in the future?

Oh no, I think there's definitely a place for it.

For distance education, you know a lot of students

aren't able to attend school for health

reasons or other reasons.

And as well as education down the road, collegiate education.

As we talked about having it for surgery or space

travel or a lot of different fields.

The kids are able to experience something that otherwise they

never would be able to.

And they pick it up.

At this age, they just pick it up.

You know, I mean, we were briefed

before on the Expeditions app and the goggles.

And it still took them about 10 seconds

to be ahead of us on how to use them.

So no, I think there's definitely a place for it.

Fantastic.

Yeah, I mean, this is what learning is all about.

Right?

Exploring new places and new things.

And here, we can literally take the roof off of the school

and take our students and children

to places they'd never be able to experience

physically in school.

And it's really exciting.

We went to the space station today.

They went under the ocean.

They went to Angkor Wat.

They went to the past and visited World War II.

So the applications really are limitless.

So you got some really great ideas there.

Let's hear what the students have

to say about the experience.

The VR I've done in the past is basically Parkour things,

like where you move around, that stuff.

But that's my first one where I literally

experienced other places and going under the sea

and stuff like that.

The exploring and looking around were actually pretty fun,

like looking around space, and all of these other places

that you could go and looking at all these certain things,

like in Egypt or something like that.

I think it was fun.

You get to go to a lot of places you

couldn't go to explore different places.

To get to know what more things look like.

It could also be used in school.

If you're doing something in history,

you can do a VR in the place that you're learning.

People with an omnidirectional treadmill

that have prosthetics, they can learn how to walk again

through the use of VR.

Before we end this episode, I just

want to take a couple of minutes.

I'm in what used to be a storage room in the media

center at Joel P. Jensen Middle School.

And I'm with Belinda Gambrino.

Belinda came up to me at the-- which conference was that?

It was a [inaudible] conference.

Right.

And you just talked about mixed reality.

And said, hey, can we try this with our students?

And thank you so much for letting us come in.

But this room is really exciting.

Can you tell us a little bit about what goes in here

and how this works?

So originally, this was a storage room.

I just took out all the old technology.

And I had our kind of CTE guy make some shelving in here.

And I decided to turn this into a makerspace room.

Fantastic.

So what do students do when they come?

Is this guided lessons?

No.

No.

I think it's really important that kids play and tinker.

And so I wanted this to be a room where they just explore

what they are interested in.

So I have coloring in here.

They can make Play-Doh.

I have a deconstruction where they take apart things.

Like some Christmas toys that I didn't want anymore

that were really annoying, I had them take apart those.

Cool.

There's painting.

They make origami.

I have some challenges where they can stack caps and things

like that.

And we have K'nex.

And I did also a donors choose where

I got some other activities, like a marble run in here.

So it's really fun.

It's a really small space, but sometimes I

have like 10 to 15 kids in here.

This is fantastic.

It's like a creativity incubator.

Yes.

Yes.

I love it.

Thank you.

So it's been a really exciting trip to the Joel P. Jensen

Middle School over here in the Jordan District.

I want to thank Mr. Plott and Ms. Gambrino

for letting us come in and work with the students

and explore some AR/VR materials.

And also see this makerspace room.

If you'd like to learn more about mixed reality

or makerspace, UEN PD offers classes on both.

You can sign up at UEN.gosignmeup.com.

And be sure to catch our next episodes of UEN PDTV,

either right here on our website, UEN.org or our YouTube

channel.

And we will see you next time in RR, real reality.

You like that?

You like the way I did that?

You should put this part where I'm

talking about how good that was in the ending as well.

Musicians You May Have Forgotten Are SUPER Rich! (Being Rich Part 3) - Duration: 14:01.

Here are a few musicians we forgot are super rich!

10 - Master P Make em say uhhhhhhhhh!!

You guys remember that from Master P?!

Coming from a humble background sometimes is exactly the fuel a person needs to change

everything and become the successful entrepreneur they've always wanted to be.

And the hustle is real when it comes to Master P. From an early age as a boy from a dangerous

neighborhood in New Orleans, Percy Miller, aka Master P, knew he wanted more out of life.

With just a bit of money, 10 thousand bucks to be exact, he decided to start out in the

business world with a small record business called No Limit Records & Tapes.

He decided to actually get into the music industry himself and started his own record

label with the same name.

Little did he know that he would make himself one of the richest rappers in the industry.

Master P and the rest of the No Limit Soldiers soon dropped hits.

As funny as this sounds, Master P was known for being frugal with his business expenses,

as he wanted to keep his profit margins high.

He was able to keep his profits and bankroll any new ventures he wanted to take on.

His business mindset allowed him to maintain ownership of his and his artists' songs.

Master P's net worth is estimated at around $250 million, coming from his music career,

real estate investments and many other business ventures.

9 - Shania Twain While country music seems to be usually dominated

by men, in the mid 90's, Shania Twain came and took over what seemed like the entire

world with hit song after hit song.

With over 75 million records sold worldwide and counting, there's no doubt this Canadian

star has enough dough to forget about any type of problem!

Well, the types that can be solved by money anyways.

Although it seems as if she's disappeared, Twain has managed to maintain a strong fan

base, and with that, a growing wealth that registered $58 million bucks in earnings in

recent years.

With an estimated net worth of over $350 million bucks, Shania has done what so many artists

struggle to do: keep an active and lucrative career that spans for more than two decades!

A combination of a solid music career, smart investment choices and endorsements with high-end

brands has allowed Twain to keep sending money to the bank!

8 - Calvin Harris How many of you Calvin Harris fans envisioned

him becoming one of the biggest DJs in the world?

As one of the fastest climbers on the list of richest musicians around the world, Calvin

Harris has seen his fortune soar in a matter of years.

He's become a common fixture in the world of pop, with big collaborations with stars

such as Rihanna.

Calvin Harris has steadily made his money performing all around the world.

One of his most successful tactics has been producing smash hits both in the EDM and pop

world, allowing him to become a well-known star in both scenes.

His hard work has earned him a place in Forbes' Top 50 list of biggest celebrity earners for

2018.

His net worth is estimated anywhere from $185 to 225 million dollars.

Forbes has estimated that he's made 48 million alone in 2018!

With this type of net worth, he's not only climbed the billboard charts, but he's also

climbed the net worth chart for top-earning UK musicians of all time!

7 - Birdman Put some respeck on it, we're talking about

Birdman now!

Brian Birdman Williams is the co-founder of Cash Money Records.

It's safe to say the one of the main attractions of getting into the music industry is definitely

the money involved.

But, as history has shown us, you gotta be careful with money and invest wisely.

And this seems to be exactly what Birdman has done.

Even though this guy probably doesn't look like it, he's an extremely shrewd business

man.

Becoming a strong presence in the hip hop industry takes a lot of work, and a little

bit of luck, such as being smart enough to sign Lil Wayne and Juvenile to cash money

millionaire!

After creating Cash Money Records began back in 1991 with his brother Ronald, Birdman has

since become one of the most recognizable faces in Hip Hop!

Coming from a humble background, Birdman used his surroundings as an inspiration.

He wanted to get himself out of the projects and change his life and those around him.

First getting some local attention in the south, Cash Money started off slowly, but

slowly grew after Juvenile, Hot Boyz, and Lil Wayne started blowing up in 1998, and

the rest is history!

They're now a huge record label that has artists such as Nicki Minaj and Drake signed.

Having signed some of the best in the hip-hop world over the decades, the company has had

a successful run that allowed Birdman and his brother to attain a net worth of a supposed

$150 million each, but we're guessing that number is still going up each day.

6 - Robbie Williams Do you guys remember the hit song Millennium?

A lot of Americans may only know Robbie Williams by that one hit song, but he's definitely

been stacking that cash for quite a while overseas.

So how exactly did he start out?

His mom saw an ad for a new boy band being formed back in 1990 and encouraged him to

audition.

Williams was catapulted into stardom during his 5-year tenure as part of British boy band

Take That.

He decided go solo and what followed was a chain of hits that cemented his success in

the pop arena on a worldwide level – something not many popular Brits were able to do.

His current net worth is valued anywhere from 150-200 million dollars, ranking him as one

of UK's wealthiest musicians ever.

Here's an interesting fact.

His Close Encounters Tour, featuring some of his hits from the 90's, became a Guinness

record breaking event.

He sold 1.6 million tickets in only one day!

Who would have guessed that the artist to sell the most concert tickets ever in one

day would be Robbie Williams?!

5 - Adele

It seems like pretty much everyone around the world would hear the name Adele and immediately

know who we're talking about.

Profound lyrics and a belting voice have secured Adele a spot in superstardom almost instantaneously.

Known for her soulful voice, Adele has been one of the most successful British performers

of the century.

Multiple Grammys, a career respected by experts and fans alike, and a net worth of $165 million……not

too shabby at all for someone who was aspiring to help other artists get into the industry

by being an A&R!

Her fortune has been consistently growing ever since the release of her debut album

'19', back in 2008.

With the release of her latest album '25', she secured a spot in history, as 25 became

the year's best-selling album and broke first week sales records in a number of markets,

including the UK and the US.

Her net worth has been estimated anywhere from 135 million to 185 million dollars, depending

on who you ask.

So what's Adele been up to since releasing her album back in 2015?

Well, she was recently spotted at a Drake concert…..who knew she was a fan?

4 - Celine Dion

Is it actually possible to think of Celine Dion and not think of the Titanic Theme song?

It's because of songs like My Heart Will Go on that Celine Dion is one of the richest

singers in the world!

It really all makes perfect sense considering her long career has spanned for over two decades.

Years of performing has given her an insane amount of money.

Her fortune is estimated to be around $430 million by Forbes.

After her introduction to the world in 1988 at the Eurovision Song Contest, Celine Dion

became a pop icon in the 90's – her ballads and strong voice cemented her popularity among

the general public.

After her 1997 smash hit 'My Heart Will Go On', which went on to win the Academy Award

for Best Original Song, she was literally everywhere.

Her voice and performances have undoubtedly turned her into the icon she is today.

Interestingly enough even though she sings in English and French, she can also sing in

Spanish, German, Italian, Mandarin, and Japanese!

You would think that she's made all her money from selling records.

However, it's her residency at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas over the years that really

have helped make her all her money!

3 - Jimmy Buffett

How many of you guys have been to the Margaritaville in Las Vegas?

Margaritaville the restaurant was born from the song with the same name.

It's Buffet's crazy island style that's made him a huge icon with his fans.

Known for big hits such as 'Margaritaville' and 'Come Monday', Buffett was able to create

a very loyal fan base that follows him along most of his adventures.

Buffett first called his music "drunken Caribbean rock 'n' roll, and hey, it's worked out

well for him!

With a successful music career that's spanned over 4 decades, Jimmy Buffett has taken on

many different ventures.

One of his first ventures was of course his restaurant.

His first successful Margaritaville restaurant opened in Key West, Florida in 1985.

He's had books that have been on the New York Times best seller list.

He's opened a casino in Atlantic city called what else?

Margaritaville of course!

He's also released a video game that's called Margaritaville!

His fortune has been increasing consistently, giving him an estimated net worth of $550

million, according to Forbes.

Even though he's worth over half a billion, he still hasn't stopped performing.

It's probably because it's too much fun for him!

2 - Dieter Meier How many of you guys remember Ferris Bueller's

day off?

Anyone else wonder why Ferris was even friends with Cameron?!

Anyways, that's a whole different discussion.

But do you guys remember that song in the movie that goes "Ohhhhhhhh….yeahhhhhhhh"

That song made Dieter Meier a one-hit wonder!

However, that one hit has made, and continues to make plenty of money for Meier!

Meier, part of Swiss electronic duo Yello, provided the vocals for the 'Oh Yeah' part.

Can we even really call it a song?

The song basically only says "Oh Yeah" repeatedly.

The song became iconic in the 80's, when 'Ferris Buller's Day Off' used the song as part of

its most iconic scene involving that sweet SWEET Ferrari 250GT California!

From that one scene in Ferris Buller, 'Oh Yeah' became the staple music for many commercials

and for some of the biggest brands in the upcoming decades.

Brands such as Twix and TV shows such as The Simpsons have used the song.

Meier was actually already pretty well off by the time 'Oh Yeah' blew up, which explains

the rest of the story.

It wasn't through this one hit that he made all his millions, it was his business mindset

that allowed him to venture into other businesses that became very successful.

Even though Meier hit it big and made several million with Oh Yeah, he made the rest of

his 175 million through other ventures.

His investments include a stake in a railway company, a holding company, a luxury watchmaker,

and ownership of 250,000 acres of land in Argentina.

Hey, remember, you only gotta get rich once and then let your money work for you!

1 – Akon

Venturing into other kinds of business seems to be THE recipe for a TON of money.

It's actually owning your own music that generates money that lasts for generations!

Only a few artists have done so, and Akon is one of them.

Akon began his career in the early 2000's, and it launched him into stardom.

Akon became a hit-maker almost instantly.

His first three albums 'Trouble', 'Konvicted', and 'Freedom' went multi-platinum.

Although he was born in the US, Akon spent part of his childhood in Senegal.

When he started making a ton of money, he decided to give back to his people in Senegal.

In 2014, he started a project that aimed to provide electricity to 60 million people in

15 countries in Africa.

He also started his own charity called Konfidence to help youngsters in the continent.

But how exactly can he afford it?

Well, other than his own successful hit-making career, Akon's made some saavy business

moves.

For example, he's the co-owner of a diamond mine in South Africa.

And oh yeah, let's not forget.

He got super lucky signing Lady Gaga!

Yep, it's nice to eat off of that right?!

Here's what's next!

Coaching Business Tips - Duration: 11:48.

Are you a Christian coach, consultant,

or leaders using free discovery session to increase your sales revenue?

Then today's video is for you. I will show you five simple yet powerful

tips to increase your sales conversion, by properly prepare and conduct your

free discovery sessions. It's all coming up for you in Today's

episode.. It's all about empowering you to become

that Christian CEO that God has called you.

Hi Kelly here. Today.

We gonna do a little bit differently. I'd like to serve you like mini workshop

style. We want dive right in to help you to

increase your sales conversion, during your free coaching or consulting

sessions. All right,

so let's go. So the first thing is you need to be

really clear about WHAT + Value. What do I mean by that?

It's you have to be very clear about what kind of results and value you can

produce for your clients and you are going to formulate it in a very

compelling summary for them.

For example, if you are in the wellness industry that

say you are promoting a specific kind of program for the bride- to- be and you

help them to fit in their wedding dresses before their wedding day,

make sure they look good. Right?

So the, uh,

you probably can formulate, instead of saying,

I will help you to lose 10 pounds, uh,

in the next week or month or so. That is a little bit vague because that

doesn't bring a whole lot of value and specific result for the bride to be.

But if you say, hey,

I helped a bride to be to lose that stubborn tummy fat before their wedding

day in 30 days. Right away.

The volume increased in the bride-to-be's eyes as we know that the

bride-to-be they are not really buying your product.

What they are buying is the results that how that can made themselves feel much

better.

Okay? So I hope this makes sense and also when

we say be very clear about whom you serve,

the approach is you gotta go one inch wide and one mile deep above them.

I have seen so many coaches and consultants do the opposite way around.

They don't know their tribe intimate enough.

You need to know their current and urgent pain;

the key phrase,-current and urgent pain and both externally and

internally. So for example,

let just try to use that bride-to-be again,

the same product, but then you say,

I help the bride to be to lose that stubborn tummy fat with my specific

program and service in 30 days, so they can fit into that wedding gown

beautifully; and many,

many years to come to cherish when they see their photo in the wedding album.

Okay. I just kind of made it up on the go,

but you know what I mean.

You see in this way, because I know one mile deep about that

bride-to-be. I can imagine that she woke up in the

morning as you look at the mirror, as she looked at her tummy and looked at

the address, you know,

hang next to her and she'd look at the dress and look at tummy.

You know, what's the urgent pain?

Is that right? The tummy fat!

But that is just on the surface, but internally she already started to

think, oh my goodness,

if I don't look good on that dress, you know,

they going to take so many pictures on me.

And then for years to come I got to look so fat,

I cannot look ugly. Uh,

in all the photo albums. See that.

So that is about that how clear that you need to know about whom you serve,

I hope this makes sense.

Let's go next, number two:

be super sharp at your positioning. Now this is a goal I am oging to give

you some killer coverting script to get them so excited about your coming

section - coming free session. But this is also the secret to prime

their mind, so they will say yes.

A much easier yes for you for that sales.

Okay, let's try- use this again,

have that bride-to-be in mind. This is what we will cover during our

discovery session. Mary,

let's give her a name and we say- Hey Mary,

we will work together to create a crystal clear vision about what kind of

result- fill the blank. Let say,

you know what kind of a exercise that suits you and maybe we'll also have to

think about these nutrients-he product will combine well with your favorite

diet or favorite food or your habit of how you do exercise and so on.

Right? Then we say you probably also gonna

uncover some hidden challenges. You know,

everybody's a bit different, Mary,

that, but sometimes people just got stuck and

cannot go further. So in our session we will figure those

things out, so you would not be stuck and then you

can get the result you want. And you will leave that session with

clarity, reenergized and you are in power to

finally get a result that you want, which for Mary in these ways.

So Mary, I'm so excited.

I think in 30 days, in our session,

you will be very, very clear about what you should be

doing in the next 30 days and how you can get there.

You see that's a very different, right?

Because a lot of coaches, they just say,

oh, that just hop on call for 30 minutes.

For you, you might feel like that.

it's very valuable, is 30 minutes of time.

It is. The problem is the way you communicate,

the perceived value in the receiving end from your prospect's perspective.

It's not that much. Therefore,

if you use this formula. Use the one I just shared with you.

Then you will create a very different result.

Now, let's go on!

Number three: You need py on them the moment they make

appointment with you. Many coaches made this mistake,

after the prospect make appointments, they just wait and do nothing.

Okay? Then ehat you will figure is you will

hop on a call with a pure stranger. You cannot find that connection to start

with. You need to find any common ground to

create rapport. You know nowadays,

social media, is so easy,

you can go to their social media profile,

Youtube, Facebook,

Twitter, Instagram,

Linkedin and so on, and to see what you can find,

a common ground, you can find.

You also want to maybe find any accomplishment to praise them.

I remember one of my high end clients a couple months ago,

that I found that he had a Tedx talk actually many years ago,

but I dug it out and I listened to it. I watched it.

So during our very first discovery call, I complimented on him about the XYZ

points very specifically, and he was a very surprised and I got a

big yes from a discovery session. So it is important,

right? Next.

Find any areas they might need to improve beyond the obvious ones.

You know, so you can bring it up at the right time

in the right way. That is the key phrase in the right

time, in the right way.

Now it may not be the right time at all during the discovery session,

then don't bring it up. Because of why you don't want to do is

You right away point out their flaws. Nobody would like that.

So can you imagine, for example,

if I have a prospect hopped on the discovery with call with me,

and I already went to visit her or his websites.

Then when we have on a call, the first thing I say is,

you know, I went to your website,

you know the copy is lousy. The call to action is not there,

and then the graphic is terrible. Do you think that I can get them signed

the contract and say Yes as a coaching client?!

No! Because nobody wants to be pointed out

the flaws firs. The people,

they want you to believe in them first, right?

So, but this is a more like for yourself,

the homework you prepare yourself; know that maybe there are other areas on

the top of the key points that you guys got to discuss so you are well prepared.

Make sense? Number four,

I want you to get organized the moment that your prospect make the appointment

with you, I want you to create a folder in your

computer for them. Because in this way,

as the time goes and later on we also gonna talk about follow up,

that you are ready to pull out the data and materials that conversation content.

You'll be able to serve them much better that way.

Right? You want to have maybe name and other

information you found, the date you met,

the conversation you had, and then more importantly,

follow up dates and note. Right?

It's super, super important.

Number five, follow up with system.

I'm sure you have heard of this. Money is in the follow-up!

Because it doesn't matter how high is your Sales Conversion,

I don't think it's 100 percent all the time.

Right? That means you will always leave some

money on the table if you don't follow up.

First of all, if you get a yes to agree that you gotta

work together- Congratulation! Then made sure you follow up

professionally, you email them with a proper contract,

payment terms, and thank you or encouraging note

something like: looking forward to working with you!

Right? Then if you did not get a yes,

that's okay too, but get their permission to put them on

your email list. Because now you have a way to continue

to nurture that relationship. Right?

Well, except that you don't like each other

But let just say you like each other, but the prospect is not in the right

during that call. Then of course not.

timing just yet, right?

In this way, you will leave a sweet taste-if you have

some free offer can give them. Next,

depends on the situation. You can follow up with an email sequence

after eight, 16 weeks,

and so if you have any special offers as well.

But if, you now you can see if you didn't get

them on your email list

is not possible for you to follow up with them afterwards.

There you have it. The five tips to help you to incrase the

sales conversion during the free coaching sessions or free consulting

How Europe Will Save Space Travel - Duration: 4:14.

Narrator: Europe is leading

one of the most important space

travel efforts of this century.

It's a mission called RemoveDEBRIS,

and if all goes according to plan,

it could save the future of space travel

as we know it.

The objective of RemoveDEBRIS is just that.

Demonstrate how we could remove

space debris that's cluttering up

Earth's orbit,

including pieces of used up rockets

and retired satellites.

Even though you can't see it from the ground,

there are more than half a million

chunks of space trash flying around

our planet,

and most of it is concentrated

in low earth orbit,

where it whips around at 28,000 kilometers

an hour.

Fast enough to fly from LA to London,

in just 19 minutes,

but here's the trouble with that.

Low earth orbit is our

front door to the universe.

To get anywhere in space,

whether it's the International Space Station,

Mars, or beyond,

we have to cross that threshold first,

but if you have a bunch of garbage

blocking your path,

it's gonna be difficult.

Even worse,

experts, like astrophysicist Donald Kessler,

fear that just one collision

between two large objects,

could seal up that opening forever,

because it would set off

a chain reaction.

One collision after another,

after another,

which could produce thousands of additional

pieces of debris.

This domino effect is called the

"Kessler Syndrome,"

after Donald Kessler himself,

and it predicts that low earth orbit

could become littered with space trash,

making it too dangerous for spacecraft

to fly through,

or also reduce their life spans

because of collisions.

That's where Europe's

RemoveDEBRIS mission comes in.

In 2018,

it successfully tested the first

of four stages of its trash

clean up technology,

and it looked like this.

This is not an illustration.

This is actually happening in space.

That's a net about the size of

a large dining room tablecloth,

ensnaring a small spacecraft

that the mission team planted

for the experiment.

Now, this was just the first

of what will, hopefully,

be many more tests,

because in the future,

we're gonna need a bigger net.

Guglielmo S. Aglietti: At the end of the day,

the final goal is to be able to

capture very large targets,

so, possibly what one of the targets

that has been mentioned, as a potential one,

is an old satellite,

Envisat,

and it is maybe the size of a bus.

Narrator: Scientists have been proposing ways

to clean up space junk

since the early 90s.

They've thought of everything,

from lasers,

to robotic claws.

But this is the first time any concept

has actually been tested in space.

The team hopes to test its other

three technologies, as well,

which involve a harpoon,

for spearing the trash,

a navigation system for analyzing the trash's

size, distance,

and rotation,

and a sail for slowing the trash down,

so it can reenter,

and burn up in Earth's atmosphere.

But all this technology isn't the reason

this mission has come closer than any

before it.

Aglietti: Everybody agrees, that to remove some of

this debris,

is the right thing to do,

but, clearly, the issue is going to be,

you know, the cost.

Narrator: The RemoveDEBRIS project has

cost 15 million euro,

or, about 17 million US dollars.

Aglietti: The current mission was sponsored

by the European community,

and, again, we had, you know,

ten partners, working on this project,

and, overall, the cost of this project

was about, you know,

€15 [million].

When you are going to do

this kind of mission,

for real,

the cost will be higher,

and, so, I think the various stakeholders

around the world,

have to get together,

and decide how such mission could

be funded.

We are talking about not just,

you know, the UK,

or, maybe, NASA, but also,

China, you know, Russia, and so on.

The problem is, again,

who is going to pay for it?

Narrator: So, Europe has taken the lead.

Rest of the world,

it's your turn now.

FIRST TIME IN New York CITY VLOG... - Duration: 9:38.

Hey hoes

okay, that was kind of vulgar, but I

Don't even want to restart because I'm too tired basically tomorrow. Let me rephrase

Basically, I'm wearing one Louboutin heel and one not. So let me set the scene for you

Never mind, I really don't want to set the scene for you. You love picking up my toes. I

Needed to get a manicure today

But I didn't have time my bf my boy toy

No longer lives it boy toy named Troy. You still live in Detroit boy toy named Troy used to live in Detroit

So how it goes?

Boy toy named Troy used to live in Detroit Big B

Okay, you know what I was right I don't I never

Hate whenever I questioned myself because I always I'm always right no matter what I leave for New York tomorrow

I'm finally going it's been like two months since I've seen him not even he left August 28th, and it's only like

October 17th, but anyways, that's still so

that's a long time especially since we like literally hang out 24/7 no one cares, but I'm

So empowering

The night before and this is technically the

farthest the fastest the most time efficient packing I've ever done in my entire life because it is a pity that

The microphone is right now shush it. Oh my god

Actually, we have a suitcase and there is clothing and I would never even it usually happens 1 a.m

At least at the minimum time frame it always happens. I don't even go to suitcase

I just procrastinate but it can be cooled in you it and and I used to not climate change. So

I

actually have to like kind of put some like thought into this one and a little nervous and while nobody else and we get like

I

Don't really plan for this nor do I have like a whole fashion wardrobe played on for this?

I just feel like it's very last minute and not really putting a tower at all

So I'm really thinking that like if she's not going he's going I was going because I make first time in New York a night

Then like planning for years. I really wanted to go to New York. I like live there since I was probably like the 16

Is uncomfortable hey to stop by my boys house in Mom's house and pick up some clothes

I'm not even no one cares. No one cares

my his mom is like planning on like let's go to like Broadway and we already bought Broadway tickets and then like

Reservations at the super expensive dinner and I'm just like I don't have anything for that

I don't have anything that's like cold and ready to be me one at the moment. So I'm just like on the fence

And I'm probably not gonna vlog or film or whatever I do with my life

At all while I'm there just because like actually I'll take like a trendy montage but like that. Yeah, I'm probably not gonna be like

Here's how my day was so T V like

probably not gonna happen

But I'm so excited to go. I've never been I

Really need to finish packing but like I'm glad you guys came I'm glad you guys we're watching make sure you subscribe and

comment down below

Also, tell me if you've ever been to New York and your experience or don't just thumbs up this video

Leave me some

ideas

I'm like food and whatnot. I mean everything's gonna be planned out in this videos and not eating

That's so dumb. Why would I ask for ideas if I'm gonna put this video up way after I even go so idiotic

I'm like mad at myself for saying that but still comment down below because

Okay, so

So I finished pack this just not me so finish packing

There's my suitcase

Cute I also have pimple cream all over my face. Not really. I'm not really breaking out

but like I just feel like it always I

Didn't get I wasn't able to get my nails done so they just seemed disgusting

My suitcase feels heavy and I don't know what's wrong with it

But my suitcase always feels heavy but like this time it's weird because it feels really maybe I'm just really weak

I don't know but it feels really heavy and there's only like a couple things in it, which is really embarrassing

I think it's like 9:40 right now. It took me about 2 hours 1 hour to pack

So really all I did was like fold up like two more jackets and put it in but that took me an hour

So now I'm really hungry and I'm really tired bite

I just never made I always procrastinate everything because I know that like I'm not doing anything tomorrow like getting on a plane

So like my school night, like right now I'd be like, oh it's week but sudden, okay mister getting ready for packing breaking

But I'm like whenever I'm to keep flying tomorrow and did you say delay 2 a.m

And that's when I settle in which is really annoying

I hate that I do that because like sometimes I'm gonna be first light

I just wanna cuddle me down and watch some exotic girl, you know, but like I

Don't know

I just never my body has never I've never allowed myself to like didn't better ten o'clock a night before I always like to I

am forgotten

Anyways, I thought I would update you guys it was a really long update

That was a four-minute update, but it's probably gonna be edited down to like two seconds. So. Mm-hmm

Glad I wasted my whole life on that. Oh my god, I sound so stupid

So this is post my New York trip, I'm really missing it, um

I really want to go back and I really miss my boyfriend, which is just so annoying

But um anyways moving on moving forward in the process

Um, I think vlogs are so boring unless someone is talking over them

so this whole time I'm

just showing you a really bunch of annoying clips where you guys have literally no idea what's going on or like

You're supposed to enjoy me showing you what I'm doing. I don't know. I just think it's so boring

So I'm gonna talk over it and give you guys

a or insight view a more VIP

Tour of what went on while I was there? So enjoy. Okay. This is from a taxi at day one

it was actually really terrifying and I thought I was gonna die driving in a taxi is

Just really scary. The traffic here is awful and everyone honks for no effing reason

then this is

from the One World Trade Center, and the other thing was like the view from the memorial which was so

beautiful

This view is really really good. And then the next day we took like a ferry which was such a long ass

Wait, so just if you're going then just I don't know

Yeah, the Hudson smelled disgusting the views were really really pretty though

And even if you don't pay to like go up in the Statue of Liberty

You still get a really really good view

But yeah, so if you're going to the Statue of Liberty, I would go on a weekday versus a weekend and get reserved ticket

So this was from Chinatown and even the McDonald sign was in Chinese

Which I thought was a really cool thing

and then this is that black top that cool trendy milkshake place and they were making my milkshake and

It was really good but really expensive so

This is all the honking. Oh

That's different

Finally the star

These sheets are made of jungle

Concrete

we need our own horn so we can honk back at them and

Then we used a payphone and try to call his mom and she joked and pretended like it worked but really didn't so

And

This is where President Washington was inaugurated at Federal Hall

So, you're welcome for that history lesson

And this is the stock exchange which is actually really really cool and then to end off our trip

We like snuck into this restricted area that was closed

Did and yeah, this is us walking down the broken escalator

I'll show you a picture of the view is actually you were really cool and worth it. So thanks for watching

Russia: Lake Baikal / Part 3: Shamans, Olkhon Island, Khuzhir - le virus du voyage/the travel bug - Duration: 4:05.

I present you Sacha, it's our driver. And we leave for the adventure through the whole island of Baikal, all day long.

You agree ? OKAY ?

Well, go Marcel, go, we're going on a trip!

-- Music of the TVshow "c'est pas sorcier" -----

And even in Russia, 4200 km from Moscow, there is Melenchon (French politician)

"the Republic, it's me"

Are you ready Marc? YESS

So basically, we put small pieces a little everywhere,

it is to have the quiet life from the ancestors,

so that you can rest in a pleasant way, that there

No rain, no wind, no detestable situation, during your holidays, or at least during your rest.

Then it seems that you have to put a small coin

in each place where you go on Olkhon Island,

that would bring you luck.

Just on this rock, you have to put a coin on the left to have a boy, and a room on the right leg for a girl.

And in the middle, it is to increase the chances of meeting the woman of your life.

Welcome to the North Pole.

What are you talking about, we are not at the North Pole, we are just in Baikal.

Look how it is. As they say in Russian: Kakaya Krasata = what a beauty.

So here we are on the eastern tip, really north of the eastern point of Olkhon Island.

Lunch break with a small soup : OUHKA : soup with baikal fish (omul)

what is the name of soup?

the fish soup :)

Hi Mujik, "who's the mujik?" Mujik = the man, the real man.

Now, let's go for a Banya.

The Banya is something 100% Russian, it's like a sauna but Russian version.

It must be tested.

In Russia, one whips the body with dried branches to facilitate the blood circulation and to clean the skin in depth.

It's really very ritualized.

In the Banyas in Moscow, My ears burned me. It's 100 degrees inside,

and without a hat, you're dead.

Oh Marco, kiss your mother.

It would have been a nice place to ask for a wedding.

"It would have been, but I chose even better."

And above all, do not forget to subscribe to this channel! See you to new adventures! :)

GoPro Hero 7 VS Iphone XS | 4K - Duration: 8:01.

what's up guys Josiah Martin here with my little sister Sonora. we're gonna be

comparing the GoPro Hero 7 with her iPhone XS.

so maybe you've already got

this expensive phone in your pocket, do you also need a GoPro Hero 7 or maybe

you haven't either and you're trying to figure out which one will work better

well stay tuned we're gonna be comparing the differences and the pros and cons

for each and so that you can decide which one is best for you.

all right so

let's get started. okay so the first topic that we're going to be covering is

frame rates both cameras have the ability to shoot at a hundred and twenty

frames per second or even 240 frames per second at 1080 P now in 4k recording

both have the same at 24 frames 30 frames and 60 frames which I really love

to be able to shoot slow-mo footage in 4k quality okay so I'm gonna give you

guys a couple quick examples of slow-mo footage on the iPhone X s versus the

GoPro Hero 7 Senhora let's get you doing some cartwheels

let's see what 240 frames looks like

all right let's see you that 240 frames

so after reviewing the footage both videos are pretty comparable and neither

one has an advantage because they both have the same frame rate so there's no

clear winner in this category so let's go ahead and the category number two

which is image stabilization the iPhone excess says that it has image

stabilization which it does you walk around and it's much smoother than if

you go back in time to like the iPhone 5 when it didn't have that it's smoother

then not having it however it's not going to compare it all

to the GoPro Hero 7 which both of this crazy gimbal like image stabilisation

and it's boasting isn't for not because it truly is remarkable how smooth this

is so I'm gonna have my sister run behind me as a unicycle to show you just

how smooth the GoPro 7 is and to see if the image stabilization on the iPhone

excess holds up or if it's not even close let's check it out

okay so there's a really clear winner in this category the GoPro Hero 7

stabilization is much better hands down but there's a twist what if we put the

iPhone X s on a gimbal alright so I just got the phone mounted on this Osmo

mobile I'm gonna get Senhora back on the unicycle and do a test just with the

iPhone and see how smooth I can get

okay so the GoPro wins this category but a device like this is only a hundred and

forty dollars on Amazon and as always link is in the description if you wanted

to pick one up for yourself so this device really made that iPhone footage

look really smooth which if you're going for a cinematic look is very important

so anyway this is a great tool but GoPro Hero 7 does it all in camera so let's

just throw this one out and on to the next category which is underwater

filmmaking now I don't have very many opportunities up here in Alaska to go

snorkeling or diving because the waters to date in Hawaii or a place down south

that you go swimming a lot then water sports and underwater filmmaking might

be something that you're into now the GoPros have always been a great option

for underwater filmmaking ever since the hero 5 the casing was already waterproof

you don't have to buy a special case so out of the box you drop it in the water

no problem you can go down three meters which is about ten feet and you're not

gonna want to be doing deep diving with it but if you're snorkeling and want to

video some sea turtles or a school of fish going by it's gonna be a great

option for you now in recent years iPhone is now started advertising that

their phones are water-resistant and although that is true it only is rating

of up to one meter so basically it's in place for you to drop your phone in the

toilet and save you a trip to the store to get a new phone other than that I

wouldn't really be relying on it for underwater filmmaking now it's possible

people do it but this $1100 phone I'm just not really that excited about

throwing it in the water and trying to get some video that I'm gonna be leaving

for the GoPro Hero 7 so GoPro wins yet another category so the last thing that

I wanted to touch on is dynamic range so the iPhone X s has improved dynamic

range at 4k 30 frames per second once you jump up to 60 frames per second it

doesn't have that improved dynamic range the GoPro Hero 7 honestly it's not meant

for having great dynamic range it has improved drastically from the GoPro Hero

5 as far as keeping the sky a good color even though you're filming a darker

subject so is an improvement in the GoPro lineup

but as far as comparing the GoPro to the iPhone X s the XS is going to win out on

this one as far as having a better and lastly something that I wanted to touch

on was aperture essentially a GoPro has an aperture of like 15 or something

crazy high everything is in sharp focus no matter where you point or how close

to the subject you are so the GoPro has a really deep depth of field or a deep

focus it's going to be focused on anything so if you put this GoPro really

close to a subject the subjects gonna be in focus but so is the background you're

not gonna get that smooth buttery bokeh that a lot of videographers like now on

the iPhone X s it has two cameras on the back one is an f-stop 1.8 and one is an

f-stop 2.4 so if you download a specific app you're actually able to rack focus

or pull focus or focus on something that's really close to you and then rack

it to something farther away from you so this can be a great feature if you're

looking to have a little bit more of that cinematic touch and not just have

everything in sharp folk having stuff in sharp focus isn't necessarily a bad

thing but for some people you really want to have that clean look in Bocca

so to wrap up this video I'm really impressed with the GoPro Hero 7 its

performance is spectacular and I would highly recommend it if you don't have

one already and if you'd like to help me out a small YouTube we're not making

anything from Adsense yet because I don't have enough subscribers then you

could help me out click on the link in the description buy one from Amazon and

I'll get a very small kickback and no additional cost to you so that would be

much appreciated or if you already have the GoPro Hero 7 hit that like button to

show your support comment something nice and have an awesome day we'll see you

guys

Comparative digestibility and retention of calcium and phosphorus by gestating sows and growing pigs - Duration: 10:45.

Hello.

My name is Su A Lee from the Stein Monogastric Nutrition Laboratory at the University of

Illinois.

I will be discussing comparative digestibility and retention of calcium and phosphorus by

gestating sows and growing pigs today.

Here is the outline of the presentation.

First of all, I am going to introduce some background and the objectives, and will provide

materials and methods, state the results of digestibility and retention of calcium and

phosphorus, and draw conclusions.

Let's start with the introduction of this experiment.

Nutrient digestibility has been shown to be affected by physiological state of pigs.

As an example, this graph shows the digestibility of gross energy, neutral detergent fiber,

and crude protein are greater in gestating sows, represented by orange bars, than in

growing pigs, represented in blue bars.

When evaluating calcium and phosphorus availability, standardized total tract digestibility (STTD)

values are preferably used because the STTD values are believed to be additive in mixed

diets.

The reason for this additivity is that basal endogenous loss is considered when the STTD

values are calculated.

The values for STTD of phosphorus and calcium in feed ingredients are available in NRC 2012

and a paper by Stein and his colleagues 2016, respectively.

However, most of the values were obtained from growing pigs and these values were also

used in sows' practical application.

Therefore, a question remains if the STTD values for calcium and phosphorus are also

applied to diets for sows.

It is well demonstrated that minerals that are positively charged tend to chelate to

phytate when phytate becomes negatively charged.

A dietary phytate then may affect not only digestibility of phosphorus, but also digestibility

of calcium and other cations.

Therefore, the objective of this experiment was to test the hypothesis that no differences

between gestating sows and growing pigs exist for standardized total tract digestibility

and retention of calcium and phosphorus and for the responses to dietary phytate.

Moving on to the materials and methods, we utilized multiparous sows in mid-gestation

and growing barrows.

Initial body weight was about 250 and 20 kg respectively for the gestating sows and growing

pigs.

The gestating sows and growing pigs were fed the same diets, but daily feed amount was

1.5 and 3 times maintenance requirement for energy respectively for gestating sows and

growing pigs, that are close to what they usually are fed.

After 4-day adaptation, total fecal and urine samples were collected for 4 days using marker

to marker procedure.

Therefore, a period consisted more than 8 days.

Two experimental diets were formulated based on corn and soybean meal.

To create the high-phytate diet, 40% full fat rice bran was included.

We also utilized inorganic sources such as dicalcium phosphate and limestone to adjust

the level of calcium and phosphorus in the diets.

More dicalcium phosphate was used in the low-phytate diet than in the high-phytate diet due to

the high concentration of phosphorus in the rice bran.

Analyzed phytate-bound phosphorus to total phosphorus ratio was 46 and 76% for low- and

high-phytate diets, respectively.

With similar calcium concentration in 2 diets, the high-phytate diet contained more phosphorus.

The calcium to calculated STTD phosphorus ratio was similar between the 2 diets and

these values were also close to NRC recommendation value.

Two additional diets were formulated to measure the basal endogenous losses of calcium and

phosphorus.

A calcium-free diet was formulated based on corn and potato protein concentrate and a

phosphorus-free diet contained cornstarch and gelatin.

To calculate STTD values, we first calculated apparent total tract digestibility, then corrected

with the values of basal endogenous losses of calcium and phosphorus.

Using fecal and urine excretions, we also calculated the retention of calcium and phosphorus.

Data were analyzed using procedure Mixed of SAS.

The model included phytate, physiological state, and the interaction between two factors

as the fixed effects.

If an interaction in any response criteria was found, the means were separated using

a p-difference option.

To compare the basal endogenous losses of calcium and phosphorus by gestating sows and

growing pigs, unpaired t-test was used.

Let's move into the results.

The basal endogenous loss of calcium that was obtained from growing pigs was 0.43 g/kg

dry matter intake.

And this value was close to the values that were reported previously.

Gestating sows had about 3 to 4 times greater basal endogenous loss of calcium compared

with growing pigs.

Unlike growing pigs, there were no data reported previously.

Before we look at the data for STTD of calcium, let me set up the first slide for the couple

of next slides.

In the bottom, different physiological states—that were gestating sows and growing pigs—were

presented and were divided into low or high phytate levels within each physiological state.

Lastly, orange bars represent low-phytate, and blue bars represent high-phytate diets.

Interaction between phytate level and physiological state was observed, that phytate level did

not affect the STTD of calcium by gestating sows, but the STTD of calcium was greater

if growing pigs were fed the low-phytate diet than if they were fed the high-phytate diet.

Same was observed in the retention of calcium, that phytate level did not affect calcium

retention by gestating sows, but the calcium retention was greater if growing pigs were

fed the low-phytate diet than if they were fed the high-phytate diet.

Regardless of phytate level, gestating sows had reduced digestibility and retention of

calcium compared with growing pigs.

And the STTD and retention of calcium by gestating sows seemed not to be affected by phytate

level.

The basal endogenous loss of phosphorus that was obtained from growing pigs was 0.16 g/kg

dry matter intake.

This value was close to the values that were reported previously and a value 0.19 that

was summarized by NRC 2012.

Similar with the basal endogenous loss of calcium, gestating sows had about 5 times

greater values basal endogenous loss of phosphorus compared with growing pigs.

Unlike growing pigs, there were not many data reported previously.

There was an interaction between phytate level and physiological state, that the STTD of

phosphorus was greater if pigs were fed the low-phytate diet rather than the high-phytate

diet, but the difference was greater if growing pigs rather than gestating sows were fed.

Gestating sows had reduced STTD of phosphorus compared with growing pigs and growing pigs

are likely more affected by phytate level.

Basically similar story was observed for the retention of phosphorus.

Phosphorus retention by growing pigs fed the low-phytate diet was greater than if they

were fed the high-phytate diet, but the phosphorus retention rate by gestating sows was not affected

by phytate level.

Regardless of dietary treatment, gestating sows had reduced retention of phosphorus compared

with growing pigs and the values were almost zero.

Let me draw some conclusions.

The results from this study tell us that basal endogenous losses of calcium and phosphorus

that were obtained from sows in mid-gestation were greater than the values from growing

pigs.

In spite of greater basal endogenous losses of calcium and phosphorus, gestating sows

still had lower values for STTD and retention of calcium and phosphorus compared with growing

pigs.

Interactions between physiological state and phytate level for the STTD of calcium and

phosphorus, and calcium and phosphorus retention, were observed and these results indicate that

growing pigs are more likely to be affected by dietary phytate than gestating sows.

The take home messages of this presentation are: that it is not accurate if growing pigs'

STTD values for calcium and phosphorus are used for sows; and that the effects of phytate

level differ between gestating sows and growing pigs.

Copper hydroxychloride improves growth performance and reduces diarrhea in weanling pigs - Duration: 10:53.

Hello, I am Charmaine Espinosa and I'm a PhD student under Dr. Hans H. Stein.

Today, it is my pleasure to talk about some of the research we conducted regarding copper

hydroxychloride.

Copper has been recognized as an essential mineral since 1928 when it was demonstrated

that copper plays an important role in red blood cell synthesis.

This discovery led to further research to demonstrate that copper is essential not only

for preventing anemia, but is also an important micronutrient needed for maintenance and growth.

Copper is an essential component of several metalloenzymes including cytochrome oxidase

and lysyl oxidase, and is involved in oxidation-reduction reactions and protection against oxidative

stress.

Copper is also involved in metabolic reactions including cellular respiration, tissue pigmentation,

and hemoglobin formation.

The requirement for copper by weanling pigs is 5 to 6 mg/kg in the diet and if this amount

is included in diets, deficiency symptoms are not observed, and we expect that animals

will be of normal health status.

However, copper may also be included at growth promoting levels in diets for weanling and

growing pigs.

Copper included at a range of 75 to 250 mg/kg in diets for pigs usually improve average

daily gain and gain:feed ratio.

However, the exact mechanism of copper in exerting these positive effects has not yet

been elucidated, but it is believed that it is due to its bacteriostatic and bactericidal

properties.

Copper sulfate is the most common form of supplemental copper used in animal feeding

due to its availability, and is relatively low in cost compared with other inorganic

sources of copper.

Copper may also be provided in chloride forms.

However, the use of high concentration of copper sulfate in swine diets have resulted

in environmental concerns due to high excretion of copper in feces.

Therefore, other forms of inorganic copper, which are generally included in diets at a

lower inclusion rate, have been introduced to the feed industry.

An example of this is chelated copper and it is possible that copper from this source

is absorbed more efficiently and has higher retention compared with copper sulfate.

Another source of inorganic copper is copper hydroxychloride, which is insoluble in water,

but greatly soluble in acidic conditions, which makes it less aggressive in vitamin-mineral

premixes, and has less prooxidant activity than copper sulfate.

There is, however, limited research about the use of copper hydroxychloride when fed

to pigs.

Therefore, the objective of the two experiments was to test the hypothesis that copper hydroxychloride

improves growth performance and reduces incidence of diarrhea in pigs, and also improves blood

characteristics that may explain the possible improved changes in pig performance.

The first experiment is a growth performance trial.

This is the first experiment we conducted in our lab regarding copper hydroxychloride.

We wanted to know if copper hydroxychloride exerts some positive effect in our swine research

facility.

Eighty newly weaned pigs were used in this experiments with four pigs per pen and ten

replicate pens per treatment.

These pigs were allotted and fed two experimental diets which consist of a control diet based

on corn and soybean meal or the control diet plus 150 mg/kg of copper from copper hydroxychloride

for four weeks.

A two-phase feeding program was used, with days 0 to 14 as phase 1 and days 14 to 28

as phase 2.

Diarrhea scores were assessed visually every other day using a score from 1 to 5 being

1 as a normal, hard feces to 5 as watery diarrhea.

Data were summarized to calculate average daily gain, average daily feed intake, and

gain:feed ratio for each pen and treatment group.

Moving on with the results: This graph shows the average daily feed intake

and average daily gain of pigs fed the control diet and pigs fed the control diet supplemented

with 150 mg/kg of copper from copper hydroxychloride.

For the overall experimental period, pigs fed diets with 150 mg/kg of copper as copper

hydroxychloride had greater average daily feed intake compared with pigs fed the control

diet, which also resulted in pigs fed diets with copper hydroxychloride having greater

average daily gain than the control.

Pigs fed diets with copper hydroxychloride also had greater gain:feed ration in the overall

phase compared with pigs fed diets in the control group.

A reduction in diarrhea scores was observed for pigs fed diets with 150 mg/kg of copper

compared with pigs fed the control diet.

The reduced diarrhea score observed in pigs fed diets containing copper hydroxychloride

may be attributed to the bacteriostatic properties of dietary copper, which is believed to affect

the growth and community structure of microorganisms in the cecum and colon.

Based from the results in this experiment, we therefore conclude that supplementation

of 150 mg/kg of copper from copper hydroxychloride improves growth performance and reduces diarrhea

incidence.

The next experiment is a growth performance trial which involves two levels of copper

hydroxychloride and its effect on blood concentrations as indicators for protein utilization and

inflammatory response of pigs.

150 pigs were used in this experiment with 5 pigs per pen and 10 replicate pens per treatment.

These pigs were allotted and fed three experimental diets which consist of a control diet based

on corn and soybean meal, the control diet plus 100 mg/kg of copper from copper hydroxychloride,

or the control diet plus 200 mg/kg of copper from copper hydroxychloride for four weeks.

Same experimental diets were used for the whole experiment with diarrhea scores being

visually assessed every other day using the same scoring system as in the first experiment.

On the last day of the experiment, blood samples were collected from one pig per pen to measure

blood urea nitrogen, total protein, and albumin.

Also, we used ELISA kits to measure the concentration of tumor necrosis facter α as an indicator

of inflammatory response, and immunoglobulin A as an indicator of immune response.

Data were summarized to calculate average daily gain, average daily feed intake, and

gain:feed ratio.

Moving on with the results: On the first phase of the experiment, greater

average daily gain was observed in pigs fed the copper hydroxychloride diets compared

with the control.

Likewise, an improvement in gain:feed ration was observed in pigs fed diets with supplemented

copper hydroxychloride either at 100 or 200 mg/kg.

As a result, greater final body weight was observed in pigs fed diets with copper hydroxychloride

compared with the control.

A reduction in diarrhea scores was observed in pigs fed the copper hydroxychloride either

at 100 or 200 mg/kg in the diet compared with pigs fed the control diet, same as what we

observed in the first experiment.

There is no difference in the concentration of blood urea nitrogen between pigs fed the

control diet and pigs fed diets with supplemental copper.

This likely appears that addition of copper hydroxychloride in diets does not affect or

change the amino acid utilization and therefore the efficiency of protein synthesis in pigs.

The same is true for the concentration of albumin for these pigs.

The lack of differences among treatments may indicate that dietary copper concentrations

have no effect on the rate of nutrient absorption and on serum protein concentration.

In terms of tumor necrosis factor α concentration, there is no difference in pigs fed the control

diet and the copper hydroxychloride diets.

The same in the case of immunoglobulin A concentrations.

And the lack of differences in concentrations of tumor necrosis factor α and immunoglobulin

A between pigs fed diets containing copper hydroxychloride and pigs fed the control diet

indicates that under the conditions of this experiment, copper hydroxychloride had no

impact on the immune status of the pigs.

It is possible that this is a result of the fact that pigs with high health status were

used in this experiment.

So based from the results of the two experiments, we can definitely conclude that copper hydroxychloride,

when supplemented to diets at 100 to 200 mg/kg, improves growth performance and reduces incidence

of diarrhea.

However, it does not affect concentrations of blood proteins, tumor necrosis factor α,

or immunoglobulin A of pigs at 6 weeks post-weaning.

We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge Micronutrients and Agrispecialist

Inc. for their financial support.

INKTOBER 2018_Day 01 to day 11_SKETCHBOOK TOUR - Duration: 10:28.

Hi, everyone, my name is Xenia. Welcome to my art channel! I don't know if you

remember but my last video was about INKTOBER challenge. Since the point of all

this INKTOBER thing is to improve your skills

I've taught trying a traditional technique that I don't feel very

comfortable with. Few years ago I did all my illustrations in ink but this time

around I thought watercolor would be a perfect medium to learn new stuff. The

story is about a little witch that loves autumn. And next I'll show you the

illustrations I did until now it would be more like a sketchbook tour

so, enjoy!

The first prompt is "Scarf". This is the witch illustration I've done in the

previous video

The second prompt is "Mushroom". To her surprise the little which meets a freezing

mushroom on her path but no worry cuz our witch has an idea. Let's see it in the

next prompt. Next prompt is "Owl". While the which helps the mushroom get warm with

her scarf, from nowhere an owl appears.

Our fellow seems to need help!

Next prompt "Pumpkin Spice Latte". Let's prepare a magic potion. Well it's not

quite magic is just delicious because the little witch never misses an

ingredient from the recipe. But who is it for? So next we have to put our UGG boots

on because this is the next prompt.

Here we have our magic potion and the super comfortable UGG boots that keep you

safe and make a go faster, because the owl says: "We really need to hurry to the

next illustration!" Next prompt is "Bear"

"The bear is called in is shaking the tree my poor nest is not safe

you see?", complains the owl. But the little witch came prepared for this. Let's

see how she solves the problem.

Next prompt is "Fox". The owl is happy now because her nest is safe and the

bear got warm, but all of a sudden another friend appears out of nowhere

is mr. Fox!

Next prompt, "Pile of leaves". "Come with me little witch, we need your help!" so they

run through the forest as fast as they can.

This time I chose to split the prompt in a few illustrations just to give more

sense to the story. They run and they run and jump off a cliff! mr. Fox says: "JUMP!

You must trust me !". I really love how this illustration turned out because of

the colors in the leaves blown by the wind, it really gives me an automny feeling.

"E, HOPLA!". I can still remember the feeling of diving in a pile of leaves

that special smell and my clothes getting really dusty.

Next prompt is "Scarecrow". I'm not very happy with how this illustration turned

out, especially with the Scarecrow's color palette. I think I'll change that

in the next illustration and maybe paint this one again just to integrate it with

the next ones that will follow.

Next prompt: "Cornfield". The Scarecrow is really worried that the rain may come

and he can't find his umbrella: "SOMEONE STOLE IT!!!!"

The cornfield behind him is shaking as he screams in terror that his straws will

get wet and his afraid he might melt away. This video has been an exciting

journey for me. Doing the voice-over is not a easy task but I really hope you've

Spurs vs PSV: Fans FUME at Hugo Lloris after Champions League red card - Duration: 2:19.

Spurs were behind after Toby Alderweireld gifted Lozano a golden opportunity. The Mexican raced through on goal before the defender nearly recovered, but his effort to block the ball saw it loop over Lloris and into the net

Spurs responded well, Davinson Sanchez had a goal ruled out for offside. Lucas Moura then pulled them level

Harry Kane gave Mauricio Pochettino's the lead in the second half when he headed home Christian Eriksen's cross

Lloris was then shown red when he chopped down 'Chucky' Lozano as the last man. Michel Vorm replaced the French World Cup winner

Spurs fans took to Twitter to vent their frustration.  "Oh no Lloris what you done mate?" one fan said

Another angry fan said: "Lloris really has f***** up there! Good job Spurs hadn't made a third substitution

Brainless goalkeeping." A third said: "Sell Lloris. Start Gazzaniga," Argentine goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga has become popular with the fans since his penalty shootout heroics against Watford in the Carabao Cup

"Lloris on a one man mission to make sure we go out at the group stage," another fan added

Another said: "He's becoming a bloody liability!!!!" Lloris has endured a difficult season on and off the field

He was at fault for Barcelona's early opener against Spurs on his return from injury

"Seriously, what is wrong with Hugo? Amazing 1 game and reckless the next," another fan added
