Hi ya'll and welcome or welcome back to my channel
now
it may sound like gibberish, but
I feel like I celebrated new year's eve yesterday
while we're already at the end of January
time flies my friends!
But let's not focus on that because
I feel like it's a clear symptom of me getting old,, so
let's forget about that and let's get
to today's video which, as you read from the title,
it's about my January favorites
but before we get started I'd like to tell you that
this past month I tried
not to shop at all
and for a shopaholic like me that's a big commitment
especially if you think about the January sales
you may be wondering why I did decide not to shop
to be honest I was inspired by a british influencer
who I follow on Instagram, her name is
Trinny Woodall
I'll link her instagram in the infobox in case you should be interested
anyway in January she did the same thing and she called it dry January
meaning that she wasn't going to shop for the whole month
and instead of shopping in stores she would have shopped in her own wardrobe
which is what I did too, because having compulsive shopping tendencies
I tend to buy new items
forgetting about the things I already own
which is very unhealthy, so January has been my zen month
my ehm zopping..I mean shopping free
as a consequence the favorite products I'll talk about today
are all items that I already owned and that I somehow rediscovered
That said I think it's time to jump into thhe first cathegory
which is going to be make up
As you know I do love make up and beauty in general
and being a shopaholic it's no surprise that I own quite a lot of beauty products
and I kind of forgot many of them
the first product i'd like to talk about it's an Hourglass powder
if you watch my videos you'll know that I'm obsessed with Hourglass
their palettes
both the Ambient Lighting Edit, I think that's the name
but also the Ambient Lighting...
I can't remember the name, but it was released at the end of 2018
are staples in my make up routine
and I rediscovered ths powder
which is the Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light
which I bought a long time ago
I can't remember exactely when
anyway it ended up at the bottom
of my make up stash
In January I found it and I fell back in love with it
why do I love it?
the first reason is that it's a translucent powder
that sets the make up while adding
some brightness offering an healthier/more dewy finish
and not
cackey at all
it's lightweight, an excellent powder
which by the way you can also find this powder inside the palettes I previously talked about
maye not in the Dim light shade though
in my re-discovery journey
I also found
this Stila product, which is a liquid eyeshadow
filled with glitter and I have it on today too
can you see it?
I like it a lot, even if being a glitter eyeshadow
I can't wear it everyday as it's not really appropriate for an office look
but in the weekend or when I have a night out
it's an excellent product and I like ti a lot, this one is in the shade
rose gold retro and as you know
I love everything gold/rose gold
and it matches my favorite eyeshadows too, which basically are
the Hourglass/urban Decay Naked heat ones
it looks like this, almost like a gloss
but it's an eyeshadow, it has this wand
and it's super duper glittery
so a tiny bit goes a long way and
I love the brightness it offers
another product that I bought a long time ago
and that I rediscovered
you can tell I bought it a long time ago because it looks awful
is this Sephora eyeliner ,the ...
will I manage to read the name?
anyway it's the waterproof one with the thin felt tip
I have it on today too
I rediscovered it and
I remembered why I used to love it
because as it's by Sephora it ha sa good
price quality ratio and it has this very think felt tip
that allows to draw a very thin line
and I found out that
at the end of the day I prefer eyeliners with a thin tip
if compared with the thicker tip ones
like the last Kat Von D one that I bought, the dagger eyeliner
with the angled tip
which is a good product, but I find it a bit harder to apply
while this one glides on like butter on a toast
can you tell that I'm on a diet?
anyway...
it's also waterproof, so it stays on all day
and this thin tip allows me to draw a lovely flick too
just as I like it
and this was my last make up favorite
so let's move to the next cathegory which is going to be
skincare
my skincare re-discoveries
do not involve creams
but less obvious products
let's start with the first one which is a crossover between make up and skincare
because it's By Terry a tinted lip balm
more precisely it's the By Terry best seller
baume de rose
in the nutri-couleur version
the tinted one
mine is in the shade cherry bomb n.3
if you're not familiar with By Terry baume de rose you're missing out on a great product
an amazing lip balm
the price is quite high to be honest
but it's one of the best lip balms I have ever tried
as this is the tinted version
I kind of forgot it
because it's not the classic lip balm you put on in the evening and leave on during the night
because as I said it's tinted, so unlike the classic baume de rose
it's perfect to use in the morning
when you don't feel like committing to a lipstick
and honestly during the week
when I'm in the office I usually don't feel like using a lipstick
I do wear make up, but I don't wear anything on my lips
exception made for lip balms, so
when I found this little guy I thought
great, I can simply switch from a classic lip balm
to this one and I'll have the best of both worlds
deeply hydrated lips
which is a must during the Winter, because I don't know about you
but in this cold January my lips
were as dry as the lips of a climber on mount K2
that's a weird thing to say I know, but whatever
but at the same the balm adds an hint of colour
perfect for a daytime natural make up
again, if you never it I highly recommend it
if you're looking for a more versatile product go for the classic version
while if you're look for something more interesting
go for the tinted one
I believe it's available in other shades, but I got this one
so that's my favorite
to follow
I have a product that I bought a long time ago
and again I can't remember when
and it's an hand and body wash by Jo Malone
here it is
if you're not familiar with it Jo Malone is an english brand
specialized in perfumes
who also offers some body products
and in one of my shopping sessions in Jo Malone
I was attracted by this product
which, as I said, it's an hand and body wash
in one of my all times favorite Jo Malone fragrances
which is english pear and freesia
why do I like it? well..
I have to shay that , shay? I have to say .. brain fart
that on the market there are some less expensive and equally good body washes
that said what drew me to this one is the fragrance
because it's a good body wash
I wouldn't recommend to use it just as an hand wash
because it's a waste of money
I've been using it in the shower
and it cleanses the skin without drying it, which is not bad
but what I like is that it leaves on that amazing perfume
that lingers on for quite a long time
and I love that it has a pump just like an hand cream
sorry I mean hand soap
which is very handey ... yes HANDEY
the 8th dwarf after Dopey
very handy in the shower
so...this is another re-discovery from January
the third and last product I'd like to salk about, I mean talk
if I ever manage to get a grasp
on my ability to speak
is a face mask
as I love all skincare products I have quite a huge collection of face masks
so it wasn't hard to re-discover some of them that I had not been using for a while
moreover january was also a detox month, let's call it like that
so I used quite a lot of face masks
I have an hair on my mouth
especially the purifying ones
and I rediscovered one of my all times favorite masks
the Fresh Umbrian Clay one, which has an hair on it too
the fresh Umbrian Clay purifying mask
a clay mask by Fresh, which as you know is one of my favorite skincare brands
I love this mask
first of all because unlike other clay masks it doesn't dry the skin at all
but it still deeply purifies the skin
and at the same time it makles...makles? oh gosh today I can't speak
bare with me
it makes it smmoth and more toned up
it looks...
like...
clay, because it's made of actual clay
I apply it with a brush
and I leave it on for 3 to 5 minutes, so not that long
and then I simply rinse it off
and the skin feels instantly
smoother, more toned up
and purified
unfortunately Fresh is not available in Italy, not even online, at least as far as I know
but if you're planning a travel to France, you can find it in Sephora there
brilliant!
This concludes the skincare cathegory
now let's move to the...nailpolish cathegory
In my rediscovery of forgotten products I found
an Essie nailpolish too
I own quite a few on them and sooner or later I'll have to
throw some of the dry ones away
anyway I found this red one that I have on my nails right now, what a coincidence
which is called too too hot
which I hope is still available because I bought it
a long time ago and by the way I don't even know
if nailpolishes have an expiry date, I bet it's written on the jar
24 months
I think it's still usable
but many others are definitely expired and I have to throw them away, that's a pity
I like this nailpoish because it's the perfect red, just look at it
and during this gloomy January I felt the need to add some colour in my life
so I fell in love with it again and I've been wearing it throughout the whole month
if you love red nailpolish I highly recommend it
because it looks great on
Now let's move to the random cathegory
I insert it here in the middle of the video
because I only have one item and it's somehow related to beauty
I'll start by saying that
the product that I'm about to show you is a perfume, spoiler!
and I bought it at the beginning of November when I was in London
it's a Byredo perfume
I don't know if you are familiar with this brand
I discovered it around
2 years ago through a Youtube video
and I love it
the fragrance I first bought was...
super cedar,
thankfully my brain cooperated this time
which is still one of my all time favorite perfumes, one of those fragrances
I always come back to as it's perfect all year around
so, knowing that my favorite fragrance is by Byredo
when I was in the perfumes aisle in Harrods I noticed the Byredo counter
and I thought "great, now
I'll go and smell all the fragrances they have
to see if I can find another one that I love as much"
and I did find one
the black saffron
that said it's a rediscovery because when I came back from London
I had it all elegantly packed, because these perfumes are super expensive
so I simply took it out of my luggage and I placed it in my beauty spot,
how can I call it? ehmmm
in the place where I store my beauty products, i don't know how to define it
and I basically forgot about it
in January, during my research,
la recherche du temps perdu, the search of the lost things
I found it and I started to use it
and oh gosh what was I missing
I'm obsessed with it, so I can safely say that Byredo is ace as far as I'm concerned
black saffron...
which doesn't say much about it
and as usual I find it very hard to describe a fragrance
I'll try to do that anyway, it's a spicy fragrance
lightly spicy, very elegant and sophisticated
quite adult and it's one of those fragrances that makes me feel
a confident woman, a woman who has her life put together
a feeling that fades away quickly
but I'm glad I rediscovered it nontheless
if you're looking for an interesting and elegant fragrance
I would definitely recommend this one
this concludes the random cathegoly...cathegoly??? WTF why can't I speak today???
this concludes the random cathegory
with my hair constantly falling on my face
but let's move to the clothes cathegory
when it comes to clothes
to be honest the number of items
that I could have somehow forgotten about
is very high
this because I own way too many clothes and I don't say it to brag, I honestly am a bit ashamed of it
so I often find some with the tag still on
and to find some others
that I can't even remember buying
so shopping in my own wardrobe is actually a thing
the 3 pieces that I selected for today's video
are clothes that I bought not that long ago
I re-discovered 2 of them
in January
while I've been wearing the third one nonstop since I bought
so I had to include it in the video
lets' start with the 2 items that I bought between
October and November
I believe
and which I had forgotten about
but they came back in full swing in January
and I've been wearing them a lot
the first one is this sweater
that I bought on Asos, it's by Monki
as you can see it's an animal print sweater
and, spoiler, the second item is in an animal print too
because I'm going through a phase in which I would always wear animal prints
maybe that's a sign of me getting old, I don't know
anyway I bought this sweater at the end of October/beginning of November
and I love it because
of the animal print, but also because it's warm and perfect for this Season
and because I can pair it with jeans for a casual look
but also with a pencil skirt
for a more put together look
I hope it's still available on Asos in case you should be interested
I haven't said it yet, I say it now after 200 hours in the video
but if you follow me you'll know it already
I'll link on my blog all the products
that I featured in this video
so that you'll be able to find out more or even buy some of them online
when available
Now let's talk about the second item
which is again
let me grab it as it's under the third one that I've been wearing nonstop
the second piece is again an animal print one
and this time is from Zara, their TFR, no wait TRF line
TRF
a maxi dress
with animal print
a maxi dress with low cut neckline
if you watched my end of the year vlog
it's the dress I was wearing on new year's eve
so I had already rediscovered it at the end of December
and I kept wearing it throughout January
often layering over a roll neck bodysuit
to keep me warm as it's in a lightweight fabric
and a chunky cardigan on top
I love it because it's quite
flowy, it doesn't highlight the hips
and I love the print
I think I bought it in November too
but I kind of
forgot about it
I don't know why
but I rediscovered it in January so YAY
now I'll put it aside
and we can talk about the third and last item that I selected
and it won't be a surprise because
I've basically been living in this sweater
for the past three months
November, December and January
and it's the sweater that I bought in Topshop at the beginning of November when I was in London
I'm obsessed with it, it's one of my favorite pieces among the ones that I own
because it's super soft, super warm and in the cold january days it was a bless
and it's in this amazing bright yellow shade
which, as I already said for the nailpolish,
helped me to add some colour to this gloomy January
and improve my mood
so this amazing sweater is the third and last clothing item
if I could come back to London right now I would buy it in any other colour
I don't even remember if it was available in other shades
but if so I would buy another one
now that January is over I have to check online
if there's something on Topshop
and if they do deliver to Italy, if you know it leave me a comment
I'd love that
and this concludes...uhhh
I'm covered in hair, whatever
and this concludes the clothes cathegory, I tried to
be quick and by the way in January I also rediscovered this top
it's from H&M, I bought it 3 or 4 years ago
go figure
so shopping in my wardrobe was actually a success
Now let's move to the last cathegory
which is the shoes one because I have something to share with you
my January favorite shoes are not shoes, but boots, here they are
they are new, but it's not cheating because I received them as a Christmas gift from my in-laws
I love them and I was actually looking for boots in this shade of brown
because I own many clothes in this shade
and I wanted some shoes/boots to pair with them
my hair is so annoying today
so thank you I really love these boots because they are simple
very comfy as the heel is low, mainly
because I can't wear high heels anymore
even if I have big calves
I can still squeeze them in these boots
so I'm in love with them
and I had to share them with you
because I've been wearing them a lot, paired with
pencil skirts, with maxi dresses like the Zara one
I paired them with almost everything because they quite versatile
so I had to talk about me...
talk about me???
talk about them
you'll have to bare with me today
because my brain is not working
Brilliant and this leads us to the end od another
monthly favorites video
inspite of the fact that this was my dry Janaury
which means I didn't shop at all I still managed to talk for a very long time
sorry about that
Let me know in the comments
if you liked any of these products
and if you plan to reduce your shopping and go back to discover
what you already own
I promise it can be very satisfying
and I'll see if I can keep doing that in February too,
but I highly doubt it because I can already feel the
shopping abstinence
That said if you liked this video don't forget to give it a thumbs up
so that I will know it and if you haven't yet

West Asheville | Elena Kovrigin - Duration: 2:16.
West Asheville is a very hip, trendy, and vibrant neighborhood of Asheville`.
Stick around to learn a little bit more about it.
Hi.
My name is Elena Kovrigin.
I'm a realtor with Coldwell Banker King here in Asheville, North Carolina.
If it's your first time on my channel, go ahead and click on that subscribe so that
you don't miss another video.
West Asheville is basically the area between Patton Avenue and River Arts District where
Haywood Road connects both sides.
Haywood Road's been pretty much the main street of West Asheville for decades.
Haywood Road is where you can find the best local restaurants, stores and coffee shops.
People love West Asheville for its walkability and proximity to everything.
Is it important to you to be able to walk to your favorite grocery store, restaurant,
coffee shop?Comment below.
If you want to have some breakfast.
There's plenty of restaurants who offer great breakfast on Haywood Road.
If you want to have a coffee with friend.
Check.
If you want to grab a drink after work.
Check.
If you want to do casual dining.
Check.
If you want to have fancy dining.
Check.
Police station, library, schools, parks.
Check, check, check.
As you can see, West Asheville has it all, and just about a decade ago, it was a very
affordable part of town, but that changed.
Young families, people moving to Asheville, investors snapped a lot of these old houses
and bungalows and renovated them to bring new life to West Asheville.
West Asheville real estate is comprised of mainly old houses that date back to late 1800s,
however, you can still find some new construction there as well.
Last year, in 2018, home buyers paid anywhere from $117 per square foot up to $390 per square
foot in West Asheville.
Thanks for watching.
I hope you enjoyed with video.

Meghan Markle Royal - Meghan Markle Goes Back to a First Love with Visit to the National Theatre: S - Duration: 3:58.
Meghan Markle went back to the acting world on Wednesday when she visited one of her new causes
Former actress Meghan, 37, made her first public trip to the National Theatre in London – three weeks after it was announced she had adopted it as one of her initial four royal patronages
She arrived in a monochrome look, pairing a beige blazer with a V-neck dress by Brandon Maxwell
The royal mom-to-be even recycled her Aquazzura Matilde crisscross pumps, which she wore for her engagement photo call with Prince Harry in the Sunken Gardens of Kensington Palace in Nov
2017. (Princess Eugenie is also a fan of the shoes!) Get push notifications with news, features and more

Meghan completed her look with a fun updo and carried the Metropolitan Insignia clutch from Carolina Herrera, which she previously used at Trooping the Colour last summer
The Duchess of Sussex began Wednesday's visit by joining a workshop with members of the Pericles company, which was the National Theatre's first Public Acts production – uniting people from the community in London with professional actors to create a new musical version of the Shakespeare play
Meghan then met current and former apprentices who are working as technicians in various departments, including carpentry, metalwork and painting
Afterwards she caught a performance inspired by the play War Horse by primary school children, who are working with the theater's elementary school program
Her visit came as husband Harry, 34, spent the morning in his role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador meeting young people from around the world at a roundtable discussion
The Duchess of Sussex "is a strong believer in using the arts to bring people from different backgrounds and communities together, and this first official visit to The National Theatre will explore the work they do, as well as meeting some of the talented teams and apprentices working behind the scenes," her office said in a statement
While Meghan is best known for her TV work, especially her role on the hit legal series Suits, she did her training in theater and is a double major in theater and international relations from Northwestern University
The National Theatre is one of four patronages that she initially announced earlier this month – and this one was handed down to her by Queen Elizabeth, who had previously been the royal patron
Her involvement with the theater has intrigued royal experts. Robert Lacey says "is a canny and shrewd [assignment] on the Queen's part
" Lacey, a consultant for the Netflix smash The Crown, told PEOPLE, "If Meghan is ever missing the excitement of acting, this will put her back in touch with show business in a very creative way
It is tailor-made for her, and she will throw herself into it."

Flosstube 28 Haul Pattern Parade Save the Stitches Cross Stitch Retro Charts - Duration: 39:39.
Hi stitching friends it's Amanda Mae with Ardith Design. Welcome back to my
channel where we celebrate all things counted cross stitch, and sustainable
stitching, and save the stitches and how to be a thread that connects historic
needlework to contemporary needle art. If you're new to my channel welcome! I am
a lover of all the things. I am a digital artist and a counted cross stitch lady
that just loves it! [laughs] If you're returning welcome back to my channel. I'm so
excited to be here. this week's episode episode 28. I cannot believe it! 28 is
dedicated to some save the stitches and show and tell or as kitten stitcher
would say my "stash flash." I've got some goodies that I've got over the last
couple months that I have been wanting to show you and share all of the things.
I would say most of them are concentrated in the 80s and 90s and
maybe the early 2000s, so keep an open mind. I understand tastes have changed
and color palettes have changed, but you can look at some of these patterns--
oftentimes the patterns are hand marked and hand charted--but keep an open mind
and there's always color palette you know you can change your color palette,
you can stitch just the little motif, there's just some really fun charming
things out there. and in my quest of "making all the things" and "loving all the
things," I can't leave a lot of this stuff behind. what can I say? It has to come
home with me, and I have to say I'm also kind of selfish because I feel like I
need to show you this in a dedicated video so now
can organize it and put it all away. I
officially have a bookshelf dedicated now to needlework. I'm so excited. so it's
got charts, its patterns, leaflets, the free pattern stuff, my binders,
it's got needlepoint books, needlework books, I have rug hooking now, and the
vintage magazines, and hardcover books, from you know Better Homes and Gardens,
and all the things. I officially have a bookshelf. [laughs] So today for show-and-tell,
what we're gonna do I'm gonna show you my books and magazines that I've picked
up over the last two months, I'm gonna show you my "save the stitches" finds,
things that I found over the last couple months that I did not have to clean and
if you saw my previous video you know what I mean by that.
I wasn't toiling and scrubbing, and rinsing and cleaning and pressing. these were clean.
needlework that I found that I want to share and then some goodies and some fun
stuff that I had never seen before, and if you are a seasoned needle worker and
you've been doing counted cross stitch for over a decade you're probably
sitting there going, "Amanda Mae, duh I know what that is we've all seen that." Or
you know, "Bless your heart Amanda Mae, but you got a lot to
learn." Either way [giggles], however you say it I got some goodies to show you. so grab a
drink. my drink of choice today is my full sugar cherry coke. I I wish I had
real Maraschino cherries and grenadine and I could have a Roy Rogers,
I love Shirley temple's too which is sprite or 7up with grenadine and the
cherry on top. Let's get started! We're gonna start with books
and magazines and oh my gosh I have a stack. Are you ready for this? okay we are
gonna start with the I just got so again this is show-and-tell of all the books
and I tried to mark the pages of patterns that I wanted to show. This is
the "just cross stitch magazine," and I'm thumbing through it and I this it it's
got some fun stuff it's from 1988 and I was a wee one. I was a small a small
little lass. But I was younger than these kitties.
Look at those! so this is a waste canvas patterns for the raisins that came out
in the 80s you know the California Raisins. I may or may not have a
collection of eighties toys because I'm a kid of the 80s, right? I want to see the
Hoffman guys... I want to know if they still have those raisin hoodies. Hoffman
I I'm not I just I love it. I just love it. It makes me it makes me
smile, you know [giggles]. So again, I'm thumbing through this magazine, and I saw the
raisins and I got I got the biggest chuckle. Also in this issue is of "just
cross stitch" is the Philadelphia and the bell of the flag and I thought this
would be fun stitched on the "We the People" fabric that Fabric Flair does, and
I just thought it was so fun and I thought of Pam from Pam and Steph of
Just keep stitchin' and I'm not sure if this is the pattern she said she was
looking for she had in her stash, but American history buffs I thought of you.
again this was the August 1998 edition of just cross stitch We the People. the
next hilarious hilarious pattern that I bought I a full disclosure I will never
stitch any of these, but I needed this in my collection. this
is "the potties in pastels." all the different things you do in the potty and
the tub minus the cultural appropriation, but there's the little pants are down little
butt and then they've got the shaving cream and the powder and I don't know if
any of you saw my powder room "save the stitches," I want to say I
I probably showed it in what episode one or two of my floss tube from last year,
but I actually have a really beautifully stitched powder room sign and I have it
and I love it and it's not going anywhere but if you want your own powder
room there's the water closet or [in french, the water closet]. okay it's really cute little
little ones but this that cracked me up. it had to come home with me. I got this
is imaginating they've been in business for a long time. I just saw them put out
a call for artists who want to contribute and have their art translated
into cross-stitch. they had an open call for artists I saw on their Instagram a
couple weeks ago. I'm not sure if that's still open, but I just thought this was
fun. and this is you know an older chart but for all of the computer nerds out
there. you know there's a computer thing that you know "Murphy's Law of computer
programming any given program when run-ing is obsolete." so you got to have a
little geek humor. I got Amazing Grace, I got this one I love alphabets I know
Amy loves toads and a couple other people were talking about alphabets and
hands across the sea samplers Nicola Parkman apparently she just posted some
really cool alphabets on her website, and I just you know I love fonts! This is MY--
this is my favorite font right here. I love it, so I got that chart. Awesome. I
got Christmas at Stoney Creek with the bridge and the trees. I love me a blue
spruce tree with some snow on it. I got I
can't get away from this frame I said how much I liked it and now all I am
doing is finding patterns and things with this frame, but I thought of
everyone who was stitching turkeys and Lindy stitches Stephanie and her
"mr. and mrs. delicious." her adorable turkey patterns and there was a S-A-L,
stitch along so when I saw this turkey, I thought you know I thought of Stephanie
and her turkey love and of course there's just some cute there's fish and
Country sportsmen. I got this one. I really loved the autumn leaves and this
is country autumn by Jeanette Crews designs, and she also has the jam and
jelly jar lids. I really liked the corn on here, and the flowers, and she's got
the cotton, but I again I really liked the autumn leaves so I picked that up. I
got this [laughs]-- This is really bad, but every time I see this issue of cross stitch and
country crafts magazine with a ship sampler I pick it up because my husband
loves ships, and I have the "skeleton crew" Cricket [collection] to stitch the skeleton cruise
ship but every time I see this I'm like, "oh I've got to stitch this for my
husband!" I have four copies! Four? Three? Okay, I have more than one copy of this
because I love the whale and the ship. and so [laughs]
what are you gonna do? I got and I got a couple of other issues of
cross-stitch and country crafts, and I just really I really like these little
nautical guys. They're so cute! Also, I got fields and streams a fisherman sampler. I have been
fishing twice in my life. Twice. I could not catch a fish. I've never I've never caught a fish in
my whole life. My favorite thing to do though when I was little is go to the
Monterey Bay Aquarium it was my favorite. This has been started on Aida. We got one
like line down the center, so I I think this needs to get re-homed to somebody that
likes to fish. And then I'm so excited about this one.
Coca-cola Santas. yes please! I paid 25 cents for it. Yeah 25 cents. It got--I came
with the green Aida, and again someone had started stitching. The needle-- that's
one thing that I will say that you've got to be really careful if you are
saving the stitches or looking at stuff and partially completed projects or if
you find something at the thrift store, always assume there is a rusty sharp
needle. Whether it's on the pattern like where they literally physically affixed
it to the paper, or it's stuck like in a fold of fabric, always assume there's a
sharp rusty needle you do not want to get hurt. so there was a broken needle in
this when I grabbed this book not knowing that--- Uh. The hazards of the job. [laughs] The next
I have I got two of the Ziggy's because why not?
Ziggy, the Christmas Ziggy. I never got into Ziggy, but I still it came home with
me [laughs].
for hearth and home and look at these pillows. I am cracking up at this one.
this pillow right here says a mother holds her children he oh no that's not
the funny one. I'm sorry. excuse me. I will read the correct one now. It says, "dust is
a protective covering for furniture." Dust is a protective covering for furniture.
oh and you can stitch it two ways for a pillow or for it framed. I got in my love
of Valentine's Day this this collection I I think I really would stitch not just
keep in my collection, but it's all the cute little hearts. And I really like it.
All of them are smalls. I think I like I was trying to figure out which one I
like I I keep. I'm drawn to everything stitched on black Aida, and I think that
goes back to some of the first designs that I ever created
we're like the chalkboard style and stitched on very dark either hunter
green Aida or black Aida or that charcoal gray Aida. I love the look of it. It's not
my favorite to stitch in the middle of the night when you're like I'm basically
stitching by candlelight. It's really difficult to see, so hopefully when the
days get longer and I can stitch after 4 o'clock in the afternoon I will get back
to stitching more of the chalkboard stuff on dark Aida. Alright, changing
seasons. I got this one I loved winter right there, and then this
fall the country series. this is so iconic as far as I'm concerned. like if
you live on a dirt road or lived down a dirt road, I lived down a dirt road at one
point of my life, you've got the dirt road and you've got the water, the
standing water on the road. and I just I I just thought it was really cool that
that's actually on a cross-stitch. standing water on the road with the
reflection. gorgeous. what will you think of next?
next I grabbed the country folk art. again spot the frame. look at that trivet!
yeah, "put a trivet on it." Michelle Bendy Stitchy.
II I got more trivets to show you so stay keep watching it I'll show you I
got a new collection of trivets. I liked the kitty cat and then of course
the chicken. I think of Priscilla and Chelsea and all of their little chickens.
this one was my favorite. this is a little pig and he's so happy. it looks
like he's got dimples. he's like this chubby little happy little pig. [giggles] okay I
have books oh no I have I still have a couple more to show you, and then I have
books. all right, so I have cross-stitch magazine here with the Afghan this is
dated... of course I can't find the date. Anywho, this one is I I grabbed it for
my kid is super into unicorns and I really liked this pattern. It's so
precious, but again I would like to I would change out the colors on the
unicorn and the maiden and maybe brown hair and do something else, but I just
thought it was really cool. I got the towel the quintessential goose towel. "Put a goose on it!" Thinking
of Teresa Kogut creative whims and her prim designs I about fell on the floor
when I found this book. this is not by Teresa but by an artist in Canada, and
this is a like a primsical "primsy," like a combination of
"prims" primitive and "whimsy," and it's got the painting and again
I just thought of Teresa and I just love the look of this stuff, so I this I'm
super excited about this. the gnomes love gnomes I think Brandy
Goebel Every home needs a gnome. she loves gnomes too, and then the angels,
and the snowmen make me think of Teresa. I got this card here it's a floss
comparison card and it's anchor floss and DMC conversion, but it doesn't give me a
date to know how recent it is-- I probably want to say it's from the early 90s, so
I'm not sure how relevant it will be, but I'll put it in my collection nonetheless.
And then I have books. I have a lot of books. I have well how long I have five
books to show you, and I've got these books either online, I bought them online
at the used bookstore which wonder books literally it's called wonder books and
it is wonderful exclamation point. [giggles] and I just I can't get enough. This is probably
one of my favorite books right now. This is from 1978. Printed in Japan, no real
words or directions or anything just, "hey here's here's what it looks like
stitched, here's the color chart and DMC colors." That's it. nothing written in
Japanese nothing written in English except you know the cover [giggles], but I I love
this book. look at these cute-- I'm not showing you the pattern, I'm just showing
you the completed stitches, and I just really like this
book. The mid-century. I love it so much. The two Birds, the bright colors. okay like
the fuchsia flowers, I love those florals so pretty! so bright! look at these
daisies. oh my gosh, and then I think this is last
one on this book that's yes okay so another here it is the unicorn look at
that mid-century kind of groovy unicorn she's playing the flute I mean who
doesn't want a flute playing princess on a unicorn?! [giggles] this is my next book that I
got. it is "greetings in cross-stitch" the Vanessa-Ann collection, and I realized
that I really like Vanessa Ann. I got on another occasion I got another
one of her books, and is this one Vanessa-Ann? then I got this book. I just got this
book today and I'm so excited about it. this is an "American sampler: gifts of
nature." and I love it so I marked a couple. I wanted to show you the projects.
This book I want to say it's from the 90s, but I really liked this lady
here. she's like harvesting her bountiful bountiful harvest, and then I really
liked is just the cabbage no this is the apple picking. the apple picking orchard
and I love the detail with the it looks like it's really heavy with back
stitching, but oh it's so pretty. and then the OH
so this one I have never seen a sundial in a piece before in real life, but I
really liked this piece here with the wreath but I liked the bottom motif of
just the sundial. how neat is that? I wouldn't have thought of that. and I love carrots.
my last year by Easter design and spring I did the atomic "little atomic carrot"
the purple and orange and white and yellow carrot. apparently I have a thing
for carrots and orange, and Michelle Bendy Stitchy was saying how designers
like their favorite orange is "Fragrant Cloves" by the Gentle Art, and I was like,
"Yes yes Michelle." I was watching her Flosstube and I was going, "yes Michelle you are
correct." so here and there's this it kind of
reminds me of my "gathering honey" pattern with the rose and there's the cabbage.
you know, all the things. and I what I liked is they showed you two ways oh
it's getting dark and stuff is falling. excuse me .they show all like
the cabbages and the carrots stitched on perforated paper and then you put it on
a wreath, which again made me think of Priscilla and "put it on a wreath" right? I
really like that book, and again I have "Greetings in cross stitch," and if you
can see all the things that I marked. I just love everything. I love everything.
okay so I marked this one. I'll show you this one. It's got the little chicken and
the egg. how cute is that?! so this is all like small stitches that
I want to say the ATC, the card swaps, the
the small stitching stuff, and I marked a lot of these for they actually include
the envelope templates. so the template too there's the stitch but then also to
create your own envelope with your note and this I loved this one for the
Father's Day idea so you make the card and you stitch the bowtie and you you
arrange the color palette with maybe someone's favorite shirt or something.
Now that's it's an idea for Father's Day I thought it was cool, and then my quilt
designs book the last one I got I picked this up today and I loved it. and it's
got some really cute little ones the the charts are all the hand hand drawn
charts, but apparently again I have a thing for picking up things with
cabbages and carrots. I don't know. I love cabbages and carrots. maybe that's what
it is but look at that little bunny. I mean look at his cute little jumper!
so cute! [laughs] all right that's my books and my pattern stash flash stuff, and we're
gonna move on to save the stitches let's do it.
okay [claps hands]. I posted on Instagram this last Friday night some of the goodies that I
found oh it's getting it's getting dark and
then the glare is starting to come in let me try to refocus a little bit. is
that okay? okay. sorry about that.
it's really bright. I got this really cute cross stitch stitched on linen and
let me just say that the ruffles are larger than the actual stitched piece! [laughs]
and it's on linen with the beadwork and it's really pretty. they did such a good
job. whoever stitched this did such a good job stitching it. I got it like
ruffle mania over here. I just think it's so sweet, so it's gonna go with my other
Valentine's Day stuff. I love it! I got my first ever cross stitch dish
towel, but it's so cute I don't want to use it. and then I bought it it was
rolled up when I purchased it, so I didn't see that it is dirty, and all of
these beautiful cross stitch towels they're so pretty I don't want to put my
wet hands on them. I don't know what to do, so I might just be one of those
display things and it's pink, and it's got coffee, and it's got steam, and it's
got all of the things that I love, so I might just clean it and I'll put it out
for the "cute do not touch towels" just like you have the gorgeous "do not sit on
pillows." an inaccessible house I say. all right, the next save the stitches is
another adventure in "I really like that frame Amanda Mae."I loved the
frame. I bought it for the frame because I saw it like this I was like, "oh look at
that frame! isn't that frame so cool!" and low and behold it had a cross stitch on
it! so cool. I was hoping that the cross stitch was folded over, and it wasn't.
somebody to fit it in the frame
literally cut it right to the edge. I mean here's the back of it. I don't I
don't know what this the pattern of this or it looks like a variegated DMC with
some either Krenik for the ornaments. I'm just kind of I don't know
what to do with this because there's literally no margin. Do I make it into an
ornament? I don't know what to do with it. I think I think I'll probably make it
into an ornament because I'm gonna put a family photo probably in this frame.
let's be real. alright the next see this stitches well let me move this over is I
got these really cute pre-made machine embroidered on red frames little cherry
things, and I just they had to come home with me, and I'm thinking I might add
these in the backsplash my kitchen, and they're actually marked that they're
made exclusively by a lady named Cheryl for the Ohio wholesale company. so I'm
not sure if that that lady is still making stuff or not. I don't know, but
they were just so cute. I just love I love all the things, right? I think this
is a duplicate yeah these are duplicate. all right my next Save the stitches, I'm
I'm selfish I really wanted to show you because I want to start using it.
I got an ORT jar! I could not believe it. my first ever and it says, "thanks for the
favor." the favor of stitching yes you're welcome.
no [giggles]. that's silly. it's a heart basket with little little flowers and I love it, and
I'm gonna use it as an Ort jar, and what I thought was so cool about it so they
finished it, but this little jam jam jar jelly jar. It's a Ball jar. how fun is
that? I love ball jars. there's a mildly
offensive fiber artists there was a post around canning season this last year, not
for the faint of heart, but it said, "Alright everyone. It's time to wash your
Balls! It's canning season." Wash your Balls as in
in your jars. sorry about that it. that was inappropriate. okay alright moving on.
my last save the stitches under my trivets so we're gonna do a trivet party
a trivet trio and then i'm gonna show you my last name of the stitches. okay in
my with Michelle Bendy hashtag "buy all the trivets," I got I have three trivets
to show you. the first one is "I left my heart in San Francisco." hello! adorbs! I
love San Francisco. I don't know how anyone can afford to
live in San Francisco, and I think they said that the just to afford rent in San
Francisco you had to make at least 120 thousand dollars a year to not be
considered in poverty.
anywho I love this it's got hearts, its got trolleys, it's got everything, so
I'm conflicted on whether or not I'm actually gonna put a cross stitch on it,
but there's no hesitation on putting cross stitches on these two bad boys I'm
about to show you. hold on to your hats. look at these trivets. hello Circle
trivet. I love it! the woods all dinged up so I'm not sure
if I'm gonna do a Teresa Kogut paint job on this and now I've got to design
or finish something in a circle to use my circle trivet. I love it!
and then my third trivet I got I have never seen this shape before, and so I I
want to see octagonal--octagon-- eight sided... you know what I mean an
eight-sided finish, and what I can do there. I'm excited. I love the trivets. oh
and here we go as I try not to drop everything. oh thank you all Instagram
and Facebook for letting me know that this is not a drop spindle for lace. I
was mistaken. This is called a "pirm" and you load it and you put it on your
shuttle for weaving. awesome! love all the fiber art stuff thank you so much for
letting me know. I apologize for mis-labeling it, but I got one of these and
someone told me to look on Pinterest, people are turning these into candle
holders like the artisanal candles and like doing something really cool
displaying it with candles. that's cool! and then I got this cute little jar and
I thought of like message in a bottle and it's got kind of that
halo- iridescent kind of shimmer on the inside, and it made me
think of the London Mudlarking and the the really cool bottles and stuff
they find with that kind of iridescent shimmer on it, but I love this little
bottle. oh I also got the same trip I got this count it's a hatpin but
I I was thinking it could be used as a counting pin, and I got these little
heart tins to do it all finishes these little tartlet tins.
how cute are those? I love them! I have four of them five of them. 5. where's
the sixth one? okay and here's my last save the stitches, and I had to do a
little bit of research and digging to see the pattern who who created this, and it
is something Mouse designs all I'll link it below, but I picked this up. it's on Aida.
It''s on a double matte. Professionally framed out of Pennsylvania. It's three
little mice asleep and I want to say those are crocus flowers which are the
first blooms of like spring but I could be wrong but I just think it's so
adorable and I couldn't leave it at the store it had to come home with me. I had
to rescue it. I am hoping that this one will be rehomed soon, and that someone
else will just love it as darling as it is. the frame job is great. my only
concern and I want to thank you all so much for teaching me so much I've
learned so much Julie of Reflections framing, she was discussing about
stretching your canvas and the frame and everything and I looked at this and
realized the person did not-- this is professionally framed like this
double matte is on point, but they didn't stretch it, so
what are you gonna do? it is everything else it's got the back the rubber mat
it's it's labeled it's it everything about it but they didn't stretch the
needlework. I don't know. Oh My heavens
I am at almost 40 minutes and I haven't even gone through half of my stuff! well
I guess we gotta wait till next week to do more of the goodies okay yes I will
wait I have more I have more stuff. I want to show you what we'll finish my
stash flash stuff in a future episode, but I did I wanted to show you my save
the stitches, my books, my charts, I want to show you what I'm stitching, and this
was sent to me the spring birdie chart I got this on my mail call a couple weeks
ago and I stitched a little birdie up! and I love it it's so precious! and I
liked this it literally says in the directions to stitch this up because
it's a "palate cleanser," meaning you stitched a big project here's a three
hour or less project you stitch it you complete it you you feel good and you
regain momentum to start a new maybe larger project. well sure enough I was so
happy to stitch this. it took me three hours as it said, but I still haven't put
the branch down that they the branch part I'd still need to finish it but I
really liked stitching and doing the wings it's got the one one strand back
stitching it was just a lot of fun and a lot of color changes but I love the
vibrancy of it and it's really nice to just stitch something and get that like
instant sense of accomplishment and what I like about these little kits and most
of the free kits that you can get when you get the magazine's is that they
literally can fit in it in a small project bag I'm trying to find I have
like 14 of the kits I was gonna show you oh here alright. so I binge-bought all of
these like free kit thingies and I'm like yes I'm excited
I'm gonna put these in my purse and I'm gonna take it with me because they've
got they've already got the Aida, they've got the threads, all I need to do is just
take my my cute little scissors and I'm good to go, so when I'm waiting on my
kids or I know like Chelsea of Real Housewives of cross-stitch says that she
gets most of her stitching done when she's in her car waiting to pick up her
kids from school, so I'm like, "yes I'm gonna get all these cute little kits and
they're gonna go with me." They don't come with a pattern! all the patterns are
in the magazine when you buy the magazine. so fatal flaw as I'm concerned
like this kit came with the actual chart these I have like four different kits
now that I bought I was so excited about buying I'm like yes look at this like
the butterfly and the Hedgehog because I love hedgehogs apparently uh I can't
they don't have the they don't have the chart with them, so well well what do I
say sometimes you win sometimes you lose sometimes it rains oh but I get happy I
did get a pattern. this sweetheart tree. it came with linen it came with all the
stuff, so there's a win right? don't bug me when I'm stitching and it's got like
cute little bugs it's got the ladybugs and the bees and the oh it's so cute. all
right I gotta stop. I just I just want to show you all the things! I want to thank
you for hanging out with me and seeing some of the goodies that I've gotten
over the last two months. you all inspire me greatly thank you so much for tuning
in and thank you all who who purchased a
pattern from me. I know I had this behemoth my oh my goodies that I
had I just thank you so much thank you for the feedback on my scroll rod frame
I'm gonna I'm gonna get this going. I hope you have a beautiful stitching
week. I'm so grateful that you stopped by to see my passion for counted
cross stitch. I hope you have a beautiful week. I'll
see you next week. take care.

Gimme some of that Pepsi money!
[Crunching sound effect]
And that's this year's spot!
Simple and free of any con-tro-ver-sy.
Turns out Doritos has been getting a lot of heat over palm oil.
That all sounds really…great.
But I think we have to be more BOLD…
More LIT.
Whatever the kids are saying these days.
I got it.
What if we have a fire-breathing orangutan saying:
"Get lit on the trees, taste the nacho cheese."
He's gotta know that orangutans are dying
when the rainforests are destroyed for palm oil production.
Right?!
You, sir, have a real knack for this thing man!
We can fold that in, right?
I thought Doritos was trying to save face
and now they want to go "bolder?"
Okay, so you're saying the orangutan jumps over the shark?
Don't get the reference...but I LOVE it!
Palm Oil workers are horribly abused
and the rainforest is being destroyed…
and all Doritos wants to do is create a diversion.
Dubstep!
Palm oil slip and slide! Palm oil slip and slide!
[Record scratch sound effect]
Mic. Drop.
Love that!
[Crunching sound effect]
No one here is listening to me...
but YOU all get the importance of cutting out destructive palm oil.
Right?
Right??!!
