Youtube daily report Dec 2 2017

Bad science is everywhere, from social media to your news outlets; but how

would you distinguish it from all the information out there? We ask students

from Ryerson University some common scientific questions that scientists

worldwide have evidence-based answers for. Let's find out

Do you think vaccines have adverse effects on human health? Yes; yes I do; yeah; yeah

In terms of climate change, Do you think that climate change is caused or is partially caused by humans? Yes; yes; yes

Does detoxification by juices or crystals help cleanse your body? No;

no; yeah; yes I do; yeah!

Nearly 10% of Americans think vaccines are unsafe

Only 48% of Americans believe that climate change is caused by human

activity

There are no clinical evidence that support healing effect of cleansing

juice, this is just bad science; however, majority of students interviewed

answered with yes.

Difference of bad and good science.

In general, bad science

isn't supported by evidence; it is usually overly dramatic and makes

claims that are difficult to prove.

Good science is backed up with proper

experimentation and is peer reviewed; this means that it is checked by many

scientists before it is released.

Digital divide.

so why they divide? What makes

science so difficult to access?

One of the reasons include language barrier.

Of the over 75,000 documents, including journal articles, books, and theses, some

35.6% were not in English.

Of these, the majority was in Spanish 12.6% or Portuguese 10.3% simplified

Chinese made up 6%, and 3% were in French.

In general, science based data,

like big data, can be broken into three V's; the first is variety where we have

credible peer-reviewed journal articles. These can include nature, JAMA, or Cell

amongst many others. On the other end of the spectrum, we have questionable data

which could come from Facebook or Twitter users who don't necessarily have

a science background.

The second V is velocity. Good science is

very slow since only a few people can actually publish; and it also takes a

very long time to do so. Questionable data, on the other hand, is very fast;

almost anyone with internet can post their opinion without any screening

process. the last V is volume; there aren't as many good data sources since

the databases are quite limited while for questionable data there's

practically an endless supply

Some possible solutions.

An NPO web-based platform run by researchers appointed

policymakers and academic institutes that provide digestible scientific

information.

Evidence-based, reliable, accessible complies with the AODA and

ww3 interactive and allows for the ability to ask questions.

Good science

allows us to develop new technologies, solve practical problems

and make informed decisions; both individually and collectively.

Bad science is everywhere, and anyone can be a victim of it. However, the key to

preventing filter bubbles starts with you.

If you stick with reliable sources,

ask questions, and educate others who are victims of digital divide, you can spread

the knowledge of good science and help yourself and others make better life

choices

NOVEMBER FAVORITES 2017: Makeup, Skincare & More - Duration: 11:28.

Hey guys so for today's video I have my November favorites so funny enough I

have no regrets this month and I think it's because I was mainly sick for like

two weeks out of November so I don't really have that many favorites to share

with you guys but I do have a few that really stick out to knit I want to share

with you guys these two primers I've talked about them before we have the

Fenty soft matte and the hooter pre makeup base so I actually love both of

these and I've really been using them a lot this month I've been putting this a

Fenty one on the t-zone and then the hooda one all over the hooter one is not

bad in the t-zone it's mainly just not my favorite for the nose but everywhere

else I love this you guys it just really helps my foundation stick to my face and

it gives you a really nice healthy finish I just really loved this primer I

haven't been able to live without it this month like every time I've done my

makeup I've been putting this on and the fenty one I just find it so smooth and

its really nice I love it for the t-zone it's really great all over too if I want

a full matte look that day this has been like my go-to matte primer so these two

bronzing products have really been standing out to me this month so I

actually spent a lot of this month with no tan on so it really it made me look

at my bronzers and be like hmm which one's gonna work and the hoola one just

works for me when I have no tan on when I do have a tan on it just works when I

have a tan I love the hoola for like more of contouring and really adding

that shadow and then what I don't have a tan hoola is my go-to to bronze up my

skin and give me some life back into my skin it adds the perfect amount of

warmth without being too warm it's just a perfect bronzer I feel like it's very

versatile if you do not own this bronzer I feel like you need it and then I have

the hoola kwikki cream bronzer cream to powder bronzer I really love this too

when I have no tan on and I'm my pale skin tone this is like that perfect warm

I wouldn't say warm let's top say warm because it sounds bad I mean I don't it

definitely doesn't look orange on my pale skin because that's what I didn't

want it just gives me a nice neutral contour you know cuz I don't

for some reason I just don't like cool toned contours or bronzers really so

this is just like that perfect shade that isn't too warm when I'm pale it's

not my favorite when I'm tan I'll say it's just the shade is not my favorite

when I'm tan but when I'm pale this has been like my go-to cream to powder

bronzer I really really like it so I have some lip products I really want to

share with you guys this is one that I've just tried today so I mean I mean

it's still November so technically open November favorite if I love it today and

I love it so far but like I said I just tried it today so you know you can take

this with a grain of salt if you want but I have loved Kylie liquid lipsticks

for so long like her formula is really bomb you guys but this shade though like

this shade I knew I would love it as soon as I saw her swatch another nurse

snapjet this is the shade of birthday suit it is so beautiful you guys I'm

wearing it on my lips today and I over line them a little bit that's why they

look kinda big I did not get lip filler just over lined but I love this shade

it's the most beautiful warm nude like it is so perfect it's very similar to

the Marc Jacobs yours to try but the thing with the Marc Jacobs yours to try

don't get me wrong I love it but sometimes it's like it's very very warm

like it's a it's a little bit sometimes it's a little bit too peachy warm I

normally have to like cool it down a little bit with like let's say Mac etc

lip liner that's what I usually pair with it but this I feel like it's like

perfect like the perfect warm nude I'm obsessed with it I still love the Marc

Jacobs one though that one just has a little bit more peach to it and I've

also really been loving at this lip liner I saw Carli bybel almost said Kat

Von D I saw Carli bybel wear this lip liner this is a nice shade bow and arrow

by Kat Von D and I really liked it on her so I purchased it and I loved it

it's just a really pretty shade it's not super warm like I normally go for it

more like a neutral it can pull a little bit on the cooler side it's just a

really pretty basic lip color I've been wearing it a lot this month because I've

just kind of wanted to do more of like a natural lip so what I've been doing is

lining my lips filling them in a little bit and then smudging it just to have

that like almost like a sheer wash of color that's matte and doesn't call too

much attention to the lips I've really been using it a lot for that this month

so moving on to browse I also saw saw Carli bybel

used the shade M&E and she I have black hair and she has like really dark brown

hair so I was thinking hmm if she uses ebony and my hair is like black pitch

black maybe I should try a bunny to like maybe I would look good with darker

brows so I decided to test out darker brows and you guys I have been living

like living for the darker brow and what's funny is you guys have been

telling me for forever like I've always gotten comments from you guys like oh

you should darken your brows a little bit and I never listened some sorry for

not listening to you guys but I've been falling in love with the darker brows oh

you guys know I already loved these products the brow Wiz and the brow

powder I've talked about them before but it's more of the shade this month I've

just been loving darker brows so this month I fell in love with the new pair

of lashes this is the brand bold face cosmetics they actually reach out to me

and wanted to send me their lashes they're a small start up brand and I was

like sure so they sent them to me and I was first thing I saw was like this

packaging how dope is this packaging I'm actually wearing their lashes today

that's why they're not in the box but this packaging is so dope it actually

comes with like a little Wayne here I don't know if you guys couldn't see that

there's like a wing there's like this flap right here so when you open the box

it makes it easy to pull the lashes right out so it's super cool it also

comes with a another wing like on the packaging but when I went to go store

store it in my drawers it was like awkward to store it because it had like

this awkward long wing so I kind of cut that off but if you keep this little

part on you can slide that lashes out anyways I never bought the packaging the

packaging is dope these are the style lashes for days I'm wearing them right

now they're very very very lightweight very very natural and very fluttery and

simple like all of you guys were like oh what mascara are you using a my girl

they are lashes like they look like yours but better like sometimes when I'm

just going like let's say to the mall or something I want to wear lashes but then

when I go to put them on I'm like oh my god I look so dramatic you don't even

like sometimes I don't want to look that bat that glam and I feel like when you

put on a pair of lashes sometimes you look so glam which is awesome but if you

don't want to look very overly done or overly glam these are the lashes you

want to pop on because they're gonna enhance your natural lashes they're so

pretty and like fluttery and fluffy but very lightweight

and you don't feel them at all okay so now I have some skin care and hair care

I really want to share with you guys that I have fallen in love with so this

has been a favor for a while but I just really had to mention it again because

it's so balm you guys this is like the one mask that I feel like you need so

I'm like I'm like that girl that like I use a lot of different masks and some

knows what I tried them out I'm like did you really do anything for my skin

though like sometimes I feel like I don't notice that they did anything but

this is the one mask that I've tried that I always notice that it does

something to my skin this leaves my skin so smooth like zero texture zero like it

takes out all your whiteheads it really helps me with my blackheads because you

guys know your girls got an issue with blackheads like I am flooded with them

but this really helps it a lot every single time I use this my skin is like

ready for the week it's smooth it's bright it's like just ready for the week

and actually one time I got lazy and I didn't use this because I usually use

this every pamper routine which is normally on Sundays I got lazy one week

and I didn't use it and immediately that week I could tell if my makeup didn't go

on as smooth my skin just didn't look as bright it didn't look as clear and it

was because I didn't use this that week so I am like religiously using this one

one to two times a week it's amazing it has 25% aah a and 2% BH a so it's almost

like a little mini little mini chemical mask you know I mean you if you have

sensitive schedule like this too because my sister has sensitive skin she tried

this it burns a little bit more on her than it doesn't mean it does burn a

little bit when you put it on you feel a little bit of a burn for me it's like a

to 2 or 3 out of 10 can of burn for my sister was more like a 6 7 because she

has sensitive skin but it wasn't anything like oh my god it's burning

like crazy you know it's gonna burn and tingle a little bit but it's doing the

job look it's doing little work but I have heard so many people with very

sensitive skin love this like you don't get bad reactions it's just a really I

mean I'm raving about it like I'm talking about it forever it's a like

this is like my number one mask that I feel like I need

cannot live without its amazing it is very expensive but you guys it's worth

it like I will say I am like pretty cheap you guys I hate spending money but

drunk elephant skincare is one thing I will spend money on like it is worth it

third stuff works it's one thing to buy a product that's like $70 but then it

doesn't really do anything these work like drunk elephant products are amazing

I love their skincare so I also tried a new hair product which is kind of rare

for me because you guys know I'm not like a hair junkie I'm pretty simple

with my hair but I've heard just so much about this way

finishing cream like everyone and their mama has been loving this finishing

cream so I figured I'm gonna try it out what I loved this for I fell in love

with it immediately first of all because it just smells really pretty it smells

super soft and pretty not too heavily fragranced it's just really nice but

what I fell in love with this for was it actually is the only thing that finishes

up my hair and like it takes rid of that bait the baby hair it's like as soon as

I straighten my hair there's always these hairs as you guys can see there's

like none there right now this is probably one or two

there's always hairs like standing up and kind of looking all crazy my baby

hairs but if you just take a tiny bit of this that's the thing too like it might

be a bit on the pricier side too but if you just need the tiniest bit and

it does the job take a little bit put it down and voila

like my hair is finished you guys know I usually do like sleek ponytails or sleek

buns this really helps to keep everything in place without it looking

overly done like overly gelled and to to sleeked

so last product is this Dermalogica daily micro foliage so I have been in

the market for a new exfoliator for a while

I love the Murad skin polishing Swilly I really love that but that for me is a

little bit more of a softer exfoliate it's something I use when I don't want

to really get in there you know I just want like a nice exfoliate it does the

job it's good I love it but it's not like a deep exfoliator so I wanted to

try a new one and I heard so many people for ever talked about this brand and

talked about this um exfoliator it's pretty much a rice

powder so it is a powder exfoliator he just dumped it out that meaning I'm not

gonna dump out a lot cuz you know I don't want to waste it because this is

hella expensive you guys I purchased it on Sephora and I was like what I think

it's like $70 Canadians it's a powder formula and pretty much

what you do is as you're washing your face your hands are already wet your

face is already wet you don't need a lot of it but just put about half a teaspoon

rub it around and it creates like a paste and go ahead and exfoliate your

face and oh my god it does the job you guys like it really gets in there

without feeling like I'm like too abrasive to my skin it gets in there but

in a sensitive way in a way like how easy it is to use and it really keeps my

skin looking really bright and fresh gets rid of all the dead skin I love it

but anyways I hope you guys don't mind that this is just a favorites video and

that there are no regrets but anyways I hope you guys still enjoyed this video

thank you guys so much for watching and as always I will see you guys in my next

one bye guys mmm

Alright.

This time I will you show you the sentence.

Let's meet at the station on the late afternoon.

Did you get it?

Alright.

The answer is Let's meet at the station in the late afternoon.

So "in" is the preposition for time, in a period of time and "on" is a location like on.

Alright. So in this situation you should use "in", in a period of time.

Alright?

Alright, so let's practice this together, the correct way.

So please repeat after me.

Let's meet at the station in the late afternoon.

Great.

Deux officiels saoudiens ont été vus en visite d'une synagogue à Paris ;

Eh bien , rien n'est moins sûr !
