One of my Instagram followers wanted an episode in which I make finger food.
This is what I serve when I'm throwing a party.
Honey roasted nuts is one of the best things I know.
I've got cashew nuts - put them in a dry pan and roast them lightly.
Then add honey and salt, and then they're done.
I feel like having a taste, but it's important to remember that this is very, very hot.
Let it cool off before you dig in.
I just love plain garlic bread, and it's always a hit when I throw a party.
I use parsley in my garlic bread-
-which not only adds to the flavor, but also makes it look good.
When chopping parsley, tear the leaves off first.
There we go.
When they're all on top of each other, roll them into a little Swiss roll!
Of course, some garlic.
You can use just as much or as little as you want.
Garlic bread is somewhat of a classic.
When I was young and went to the restaurant-
-you always ordered garlic bread as a starter.
I feel like that's been forgotten in a way.
That's why I want to make it today.
My friend Linda once treated me to something called Dukkha.
A nut and seed mixture that's incredibly tasty for dipping vegetables.
I use sunflower and pumpkin kernels, because I don't want nuts in it.
When you throw a party there may be some people who are allergic to nuts.
So I thought I'd show you how to make this without nuts, so they can eat it too.
Fennel seeds, cumin and cilantro. A pinch of sugar, and some salt.
I serve my Dukkha with carrot and cucumber sticks.
You dip the vegetables in sesame oil and then in the Dukkha mixture.
So good!
One of my best finger foods is strawberries with goat cheese.
It's super fast to make and everybody thinks it's great.
To remove the stem you can use a straw, like this.
That removes the whole thing at once.
Super neat!
Basil and strawberries are best friends, so we'll add that too.
World's greatest finger food, done in about two seconds!
A good looking type of finger food that doesn't take long to make-
-is grating raw beets, mixing it with some feta cheese-
-and sprinkling over some lemon pepper. Put it on some crispbread, and it's finished!
I came up with this when I was making finger food to a party with a pink theme.
You'll see what I mean.
I'll put this on a parmesan cracker that I found in my cabinet.
But ordinary crispbread or toast works just as fine, or any other type of cracker.
My best party tip is to make simple things that can't fail.
That also gives you time to enjoy the party.
I'll send this picture to my guests, and then post it on Instagram.
