To Yes Theory - Growing up, I've always been asked this question - What do you want to
be when you grow up? Now, I've always been really ambitious
child with a... -Large Afro (Jesus Christ) So, I wanted to be many things; First I wanted
to be a Car Detailer, but that wasn't something to brag about...
Then, I wanted to be a Forex trader, but I didn't know anything about stocks. I
wanted to become a teacher at one point, but I don't get along with children...
I took up rapping too...
So I eventually decided to think
about the things that I loved doing. Turned out prostitution was illegal, so I
gave YouTube a shot - It was decent, but I stopped enjoying it, so I quit YouTube and
tried to chase a career in the fashion industry, creating the streetwear brand,
Mise_enGARDE - Let's just say it was established in 2018, and died in 2018 - So
I was left hopeless, confused, scared what I wanted to do with my life... But then I
thought back to the past... I remember every weekend I used to go to London
where my cousin would always let me play a game on his phone - F18 Carrier Landings 2
- I used to butter EVERY landing and was pretty good at that game - He ended up calling
me Pilot Yuwan - And I liked that Catch... I also remember going to Duxford
Imperial War Museum every year, seeing the Avro Vulcan soar the skies,
touching the SR-71 Blackbird, Going inside a Lancaster Bomber and even stepping
inside of Concorde! Ever since then, I saw these AMAZING adverts on
TV - Virgin Atlantic with their Nina Simone Advert,
British Airways with this:
And to be fair, I've always been
mesmerised by Planes, from Sonic Booms;
Surprise Fly-Overs
Aerobatics
And not to mention, the Howls of Jet Engines...
that's when I decided I want to become a Pilot.
I did some research and came across a YouTube video - Everything in that video
appealed to me and it was from a YouTuber called Captain Joe, so I decided to go
through more of his videos:
And it ended up changing my life:
I found myself getting up at 5AM every day, becoming healthier, taking care of my body and most importantly,becoming
optimistic - so I wanted to train for PP (A Private Pilot License) - Looking at
these you made me smile - not a happy, relieved or excited smile - More of a...
Joker Crazy Smile - The price was... A bit high, let's put this into context - Learning to drive
a car; £20 ($25) an hour. Learning to drive a HGV; £45 ($57) an
hour - Learning to fly a Cessna 152; £155 ($196) an hour - Bear in mind that this is the
cheapest one I found - Not to mention the fact that you need at least 45 hours
in the skies to get your actual license meaning um, 45 multiplied by £155
equals quite a lot of money - Let alone the price for equipment and ground
school lesson - So I decided to sell everything I own, and got myself a job. A
Job where I'm surrounded by a Ferrari, Aston Martins and a bunch of other expensive
cars - Each one of those and reminding me how poor I am... Even working four hours
every single day of the week can't afford one our a week - So I need your help...
I've started a GoFundMe campaign to help me fund my tuition and in flying fees of
this certain flight school - Everything is explained better in the description for
my Campaign - Now I know what you're thinking: There
are much better causes to be donating money to compared to someone chasing their dreams...
And I agree - So I want to do this for a good cause; Any money over this target
will go towards charity based around deforestation and starvation, and if I do
eventually become a pilot, I solemnly promise to donate half of my salary
towards these charities - I'd also make a film showing my progress and upload on
to my channel again
I've never known what it's like for a miracle to
happen to myself, yet I always make miracles come true for other people;
whether it be messaging my fans to see how their day was, always being there for
certain people and then he did help or even practically giving away my prized
possession to a father with the tight budget for a son on Christmas - So I'd
much appreciate it if we could get this video out as many people as possible, so
