We are going to Fussen to visit the castles!
As soon as you arrive at the main train station, go to one of these machines to buy the Bayern ticket.
Then you select how many people will use it.

The date. And also if you are subscribed to their mileage program.
And the you insert the credit card here.
Or the cash here.
The total was 31 euros for two people and we can use the whole day.
So we'll use it for the train round-trip to Fussen and the bus round-trip to the castle's village.

You just need to find the first train to Fussen. Today is 07:51
But the times might change, so its always good to check online at DB website
From Munique to Fussen, and it will show you all the departure times available
A very important info: During the weekdays, the Bayern ticket is valid from 09am
So if you are planing to go to the castles earlier than that, you must go on the weekends
when you hop off the bus, you need to walk to the ticket center
we reserved our tickets online - It's very important to book online
because there is a special line for those who reserved online, with only 5 people in front of us in the line
now who planned to buy here, look how big the line is
and the line goes inside
so these people will stand in the line for a long time. So buy in advance!
- We chose the time we wanted to visit the first castle
in the ticket says what time you must be at the ticket center

and arrive here around 09:50

I finally got to make Naiade move And we started our way to the castle
- Yes -To the fist castle
- We booked the time we could make it on time
there was a guy who booked the time 30 minutes before us
and he was in a hurry, bumping into everyone trying to get there on time
The police man and I had to call his attention
he was really desperate not to lose his reservation
-And Naiade scaries me sometimes
reservations and times are very important here in Europe
if the reservation says you can only pick up your ticket till 10:25, it is till 10:25 and end of conversation.
Our limit pick up time is 10:55, and we were able to pick it up with 30 minutes before it
If you coming by train, we booked the first train available
and for the castle: the first time we would make on time
now if you are spending the night here, there are hotels and stuff
then you can book your visit to the Castled earlier than that
the way up is very easy - And it is so worth it

- We just finished our English guided tour. How did you like it Naiade?
- It is so cool! Booking the tour is the only way to have access to the castle
- You can't walk around the castle freely
- The guide shares lots of cool info - One of the things we thought it was really cool
is that each floor was dedicated to one member of the family
for example:The first floow was entirely decorated with the queens belongings
with her stuff, with her favorites drawings, romantic stuff
on the walls there were drawings showing different phases of the queens life style
the second floor was decorated with the kings belongings.
with drawing showing how he learned how to ride a horse,
another one when he became a royal knight
this kind of man stuff
and the third and fourth floor were dedicated to his 2 kids
but the 3rd and 4th floors are not open for visitors
we can only visit the queens and the kings floors
we can see the secret passages that the employers would use to go from one room to another
they had to go crawling all the way.
Their knees were probably hurt the whole time, poor things!
- And there were another secret passages which were not only for the servants,
there was one on kings room that would lead to the queens room
- Sneaky king! He would use it to meet the queen - As they didn't sleep in the same room
- So this was their summer and hunting house
the oficial residence is in Munique - The Residence
so they would come here to spend the summer time and to get away from the city
that is why this castle is not that huge - Yeah, they would come to a humbler place
- Close to the nature
Another thing that I really liked is that 90% of all the painting have never been restored
they are all original! But it is very impressive how the painting are very well conserved! Impressive!
- It is worthy visiting! - Sure is!

- We had a better view in the morning. I guess the fog is coming down!

- Let me brief you in with the history of this place
the king Maximiliano II, if i am not mistaken
and his wife - Marie of Prussia they had 2 kids
Ludwig II, which became the next king, who is also known as the mad king
and his other son Otto, who was also not very sane
the parents genes didn't match well their kids werent the best
then what happens next
After the king died and Ludwig II became the new king
he decided to build a super castle he was crazy about building castles
the tour guide listed lots of castles he built in Germany
and he wanted to build a castle which seems like a fairy tale
and thats why they decided to build Neuschwanstein, not sure the correct pronunciation
but then the king Ludwig II died in a very mysterious way
he died, was killed, killed himself... nobody really knows
- Anyway, he died and his body was found in shallow waters in this lake
waters at the knee level, so nobody really knows if he was murdered
Him and his psychiatrist because he was a little crazy
so nobody knows if they just died, or were murdered Nobody knows the real story
- Anyway, the day he was found dead they stopped constructing the castle
So that huge castle is not finished, actually there are only 13 rooms finished

Everybody and the horses are going up to the mountain

they have those very hairy paws
a guy tired to play with the horses and just got yelled by the horses owners
the German people are really something!
If you step outside the line, they will hit you and show no mercy!
- Naiade is hydrating "correctly" by drinking her coke
- Oh yeah, I always drink liquids! LOL
And here it works the same way as the other castle
After you got here, there is the board which looks like the one in the other castle, and it shows all the visit times
our visit number is 471
we just need to see the number in the board... Our is the next one!
- We are up Naiade!! -Yeaaaah!

One hour later...
- So we just finished our tour now Tell us Naiade, what did you think?
- It is very cool, this castle is very different from the other one
there are more wood
it is darker, but it is very beautiful
all decoration was based in operas, so everything is... - Very artistic!
- Yeah, artistic! Very different!
I liked it a lot, even tho there is not much rooms to see, as mostly the whole castle hasn't been finished
and the view you have here, unbelievable!
As you exit the tour, you get to the gift shop
Check out the unfinished walls and the wooden floors
this is how almost the entire interior of the castle looks like
out of the 360 rooms, there are only 14 that have been finished
the rest of the castle looks like this
And up there
this little iron construction around all these mountains, is where we are heading to take a picture of the castle!
and at the very end of the tour, there is this castle miniature
and beside the gift shop, you can watch a short video (around 15 minutes)
which show how the exterior of the castle would really look like if it had been finished.

another tower higher than that one should be built
among other stuff around the castle that has never been finished as he died
- Now lets head to that iron bridge!
- Let me give you a tip :When you come, make sure you wear some comfortable clother
there are some people wearing the wrong shoes, that the person is probably suffering a lot!
we are wearing tennis, some comfortable jeans
wear some comfortable clothes because you will have to walk a bit here
and today is a little chilly, now it is 18C and 12C during the morning
but if you come during hotter times, you will probably suffer more
- After a 10 minutes walk we got to the brisge!
a bit crowded, but we are going anyway!
- Not sure what happened but all the people are gone
we've got the whole bridge for ourselves! Well, not only to ourselves because if you check the other side

but nothing compared as it was when we got here
- I do not wanna leave this place! - I will have to drag Naiade down hill
I would like to build a house and stay here staring the castle all my days! So beautiful!

the alps.. the colors are brighter
- Now we are heading back to the bus stop
- It is very VERY important you check in advance what is the time that the last train leaves
- Or else you will have to sleep here
- Our last train leaves 18:06, so in order to get there by that time, we will have to take the 17:40 bus
if you miss the train, you better find a hotel to sleep here
And this is the place you will take the bus to go back to the train station
the bus dropped us here, and now we are taking it there
there is a sign which reads "Bus to Fussen", so there is no way to miss it!
-Mission accomplished! We got to the train!
- Now there will be 2 hours to enjoy the views till we get back to Munich!
