Fifteen States Currently Allow Election Day Voter Registration | Heavy.com
For millions of people it's not too late to register to vote.
Fifteen states allow residents to show up at the polls on Election Day, register, and then vote.
Generally identification and proof of address is all that's required to register and vote.
So for millions who want to have their voice heard and ballot counted on Nov.
6, it's not too late.
Known as Election Day registration, the prospective voter must present proof of residency at the time of registration or soon after registering.
A current driver's license or ID card will suffice in all states.
In some states, documents such as a paycheck or utility bill with an address is acceptable for proving residence.
A few states also permit an already-registered voter to vouch for the residency of an Election Day registrant.
Washington D.C.
and 15 states permit voter registration on Election Day with some exclusions, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
There are some restrictions as to time frame, provisional voting, and place, for example, not all voting precincts permit folks to just walk in and pull a lever; there are in many cases certain counties, communities and polling places one must visit.
But for the person committed to voting and not yet registered in these 15 states, it's not too late.
A number of secretaries of state caution that lines may be long for Election Day registrants.
According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, here's what you need to know about Election Day registration state-by-state:.
California.
California enacted a law that allows for what it calls Conditional Voter Registration.
A resident can "conditionally" register and vote at their respective county elections office up to Election Day.
According to California Secretary of State Alex Padilla, those ballots are "processed once the county elections office has completed the voter registration verification process.
Voters can complete the conditional voter registration process from October 23 all the way through Election Day on November 6.".
Residents can check to see where conditional voter registration is available here and are able to search by county or city.
And, voters in the five counties adopting the Voter's Choice Act–Madera, Napa, Nevada, Sacramento, and San Mateo–can access conditional voter registration at any Vote Center in their county.
Voter's in these counties can find a list of Vote Centers using the My Voter Status Tool here.
Colorado.
According to Colorado Secretary of State Wayne W.
Williams, state law allows residents to register to vote through Election Day.
Residents may appear in person at a voter service and polling center in your county through Election Day where you can register to vote and then vote in person or pick up a ballot.
Statewide vote centers.
Any eligible voter can register or update voter registration from any county in the state.
However, the voter's unique ballot style will only be available within his/her county.
A registered voter from an outside county will only receive a ballot for statewide races.
Voters are required to show a Colorado state driver's license or ID card issued by the Department of Revenue, and complete and sign a self-affirmation and affidavit.
Colorado developed its own e-poll book system that is networked to communicate with the statewide voter registration database in real time.
All jurisdictions have access to the system to check that a new registrant has not registered or voted in a different county in the same election.

Connecticut.
According to Connecticut Secretary of State Denise W.
Merrill, Election Day Registration permits anyone to register and vote in person on Election Day who meets the eligibility requirements for voting in Connecticut and is not already registered, or is registered in one town but has moved to another town.
By law, a person is eligible to register and vote if s/he is an US citizen, age 18 or older, a bona fide resident of the town in which s/he applies for admission, and has completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a disfranchising felony.
Proof of identity and residency is required.
The applicant must appear in person at the location.
Applicant must, under oath, declare they have not voted previously in the election.
Registrars check the state-wide centralized voter registration system.
The applicant will also sign the ballot envelope confirming they are eligible to vote in the election.
"Election Day Registration is not available at your polling place, but is available at a designated EDR location in each town, beginning at 6 am and ending at 8 pm.
You will register and vote at the designated EDR location in your town.
Please plan to arrive early in the day as there may be long lines.
You must be registered by 8 pm in order to vote.
You will need to provide proof of identity and residency," the secretary of state website reads.

Hawaii.
To register, applicants must provide their Hawaii Driver License, state I.D., last four digits of their social security number, or voter I.D., which will be confirmed when received by the clerk's office.
Applicant makes a sworn affirmation that they have not voted and are qualified to vote.
Any applicant providing false information may be guilty of a Class C felony pursuant to state law.
Precinct polling place or absentee polling place established in the county associated with a voter's residence.
The state of Hawaii Office of Elections notes though that people "utilizing Election Day Registration, you may experience delays.

Idaho has permitted Election Day registration since 1994.
Voters doing same day registration are required to show a photo ID and proof of residence, i.e.
a bill, bank statement, check stub, or any other document with their name and residence address within the precinct printed on it.
Voters also complete an oath as prescribed by the secretary of state.

There is this ridiculous idea floating around that Christianity is a science
stopper. Of course, the history of science demonstrates just the opposite.
Some people have the mistaken idea that belief in God is a science stopper. If
you believe in the Christian God or believe the Bible, then it will stop, or
at least hinder, the progress of science. The simplest way to deal with this
challenge is to look at the history of modern science. History reveals that the
monotheistic Christian worldview gave rise to modern science.
Why was modern science birthed in the West and yet still born in the East? What
was so special about the West? Well first, they believed that the
universe was orderly and intelligible because they believed in an orderly and
intelligible being who created and sustains the universe. Here's how C.S.
Lewis put it, "Men became scientific because they expected law in nature, and
they expected law in nature because they believed in a law giver." Just who were
these original men of science who believed in a law giver? Well, the list is
almost endless. It was people like Francis Bacon, Galileo, Kepler, Blaise
Pascal, Robert Boyle, Isaac Newton, Gregor Mendel, Louie Pasteur, Lord Kelvin, James
Clerk Maxwell, the list goes on and on. Second, they believed that studying
creation would help them better understand and give glory to the God who
made it. For example, the Christian astronomer
Johannes Kepler, he discovered the laws of planetary motion. Here's what he said,
"I was merely thinking God's thoughts after Him. Since we astronomers are
priests of the highest God in regard to the book of nature, it benefits us to be
thoughtful, not to the glory of our own minds, but rather, above all else, the
glory of God." James Clerk Maxwell, who gave us Maxwell's equations and
described how electricity and magnetism are related,
he had an inscription carved into the Cavendish laboratory doors at Cambridge
University. It said, "Great are the works of the Lord
studied by all who delight in them. Psalm 111:2." For these men, God was the
inspiration for their science, not a hindrance to it. Christianity and belief

High and low level formatting - Duration: 2:55.

In this brief video let's will talk about different ways to format our disk and analyze their differences.
In particular ways, the high level formatting ( quick and complete formatting ) and low level formatting ( also called "Zero fill" )
I will put more informations in description, as for each my videos
You can do the high level formatting with any online Utility for this purpose or with the system installation cd
Instead, the low level formatting is possible only via Utility ( the manufacturer's Utility is better )
The high level formatting acts only on single partition, create or delete all data reference in it. In addition redefines its file system ( the rules with whom the system organizes the data on the partition )
Let's can group them in quick and complete formatting
Quick formatting does what I just said
Instead, the complete formating, in addition to do a quick formatting, it checks all the partition sectors, if it find one damaged try to recover it, otherwise replace the damaged sector with a extra sector ( each disk has extra sectors )
Instead, the low level formatting acts on all disk surface, replace each data ( express in binary digit ) with zeros (called precisely "Zero fill" )
It is useful when the high level formatting failed ( caused by software issues ) or when, rarely, a virus infects the boot sector
This kind of virus are more difficult to delete, bypass the system antivirus because it executes before the operative system, and you can not delete it with the high level formatting considering that it marks the boot sector as damaged ( the high level formatting not checks the damaged sectors )
In addition, it is also done in case you want to resell the disk, delete all data to avoid the reading from third parties
if the low level formatting successful mean also that the disk do not have physical issues ( issues unfortunately irreparable )
obviously, after the low level formatting the disk rest empty ( as soon as their left the factory ), so you must reformat at high level to recreate the partitions and reuse it

Unboxing Holbein Acryla Gouache | First Impressins Review - Duration: 19:29.
hey guys and welcome to another video so today I'm going to be doing an unboxing
and a first thoughts review of a new product that I am going to be trying
this product is acryla from Holbein I got this set from Dick Blick
dot com and it was rather good valued it was under $20 for a set of 12 these are
11 ml tubes of acryla gouache Holbein is a Japanese company they make all
sorts of art supplies from oil paints to watercolor paints to gouache and acrylic
wash this is a all in Japanese on the casing I don't speak Japanese so I have
no idea what it says I'm assuming it's describing that the product inside
I have previously used their watercolor range and have had a mixed review of it
and I've also found other artists that agree and maybe don't get on quite so
well with their watercolor range when it comes to their gouache and acrylic wash
I have heard different stories completely there are rave reviews about
their gouache and acrylic wash and I must admit from what I've seen so far
from other reviews that a critic wash and wash is amazing compared to their
watercolor line so here they are all 12 colors in a nice little box that's one
thing Japan a very good of at is being kind of cute and organized and this
definitely lives up to that so a closer look at the tube it says the name in
English and in Japanese and it says acrylic wash on it in English it says
that the size of the tube and it has the Holbein logo at the bottom and on the
back it has the light fastness rating and the pigment information along with
some other bits in Japanese
and on the front as well there is a color swatch hopefully trying to match
the color in the tube they are screw cap tubes and there's not
a seal underneath that like a little for seal like one maybe would expect this
style of tubing
so a critic wash sets permanently once it's dried so I didn't want to use a
normal palate for this so I made my own makeshift stay wet palette by wetting a
paper towel and putting some greaseproof paper on top of that the greaseproof
paper will absorb a little bit of the water keeping the paint's moist and not
drying out too quickly
that is a main difference between the traditional brush and acrylic wash is
that the paints do set permanent they don't lift so I'm going to pour some
paint out and swatch all the colors first thing I noticed when pouring the
paint out was it is quite soft runny paint it reminded me slightly of the
Cinelli a watercolor paint that kind of consistency it's definitely a very
different consistency from traditional gouache which is usually pretty thick
and it's chalky so the colors that came in this set were carmine scarlet deep
yellow lemon yellow light green titanium white Viridian ultramarine sky blue
violet burnt sienna and jet black I painted a solid square of color and
then I did a transparency test on the black lines
I painted concentrated color at the top and then read the rest of it out like
watercolor traditional gouache and acrylic wash is often described as the
hybrid between acrylic and watercolor and you should be able to use both in
either way as this paint is different from traditional wash and a little bit
runnier I didn't need very much water to get the paint to move
I literally just dampened my brush and mixed it in with the paint so hardly any
water was used at all
and the painter flowed and moved quite nicely on paper and it moved when really
wet in the transparency test
one thing that I noticed and that did surprise me was how the paint's behaved
when they were really wet and used like watercolor they flowed really well in
water when blending out this was a surprise because when I tried their
water color range I found the paint it didn't really move very much I will test
this a little bit further later on in the video to see if that is true on the
box it said that the clothes are all opaque during the opacity test I found
that that wasn't quite true on one layer of paint you can still see the black
line at its thickest just about though it would protect two maybe three layers
two full full opacity the only color that was fully opaque was at the jet
black
all of the clothes were quite nice and bright and is what I would expect from a
high quality paint the paints are very nice and they lay down down very well
they were nice and smooth and there wasn't too much streaks in most of the
paints the ultramarine blue did also have some granulation when put out in a
wash
so far I am definitely impressed with the Holbein acrylic wash
I've been looking to try acrylic washer for a little while I have tried a
traditional gouache and I found quite quite difficult to use its chalky and
it's hard to find a good consistency to paint with paint too runny with it and
it's just like painting with watercolor which is a bit fullness and having the
paint paint too thickly with it and it can be difficult to blend and achieve
desired results I find that traditional gouache is not
true to the name of a hybrid between watercolor and a critic I find it a bit
more like oil paint however the Creole gouache I feel
embodies that description I do feel there is a very good hybrid of
acrylic and watercolor paint
next up I did some color mixing I did two color wheels one using the warm
primary colors and the second using the cool versions it was a challenge not to
add too much water to this paint as I didn't want it to be too much like
watercolor and I wanted a nice finish to the paint however if you don't add
enough water to this paint it can be a tad streaky so finding that right
balance is going to take some practice
the clothes almost very nicely and very cleanly
I got no muddy mixtures whatsoever which is really good I'm definitely getting on
a lot better with that acrylic wash range as opposed to their water color
range
I've never had experience with before with a product like this
I tried traditional gouache I've had a play for five minutes of acrylics and I
mostly used watercolor this is a very good blend between the two and I can't
wait to see what it's like to paint with especially as its permanent so I get the
painting feel of gouache but it will not blend out nicely and it won't look
glossy like acrylic does and it also will blend a lot nicer
now this set is not as much of a bargain as maybe I previously said a couple of
colors in this set aren't very light fast namely the violet and the scarlet
these are both fugitive colors being pr9 and be v1 and BB 15 these are very
fugitive and they may have fade acrylic wash is a medium that's rather under the
radar I believe there's only one other company
to my knowledge that makes acrylic wash and that is Turner's in comparison with
the Holbein acrylic wash Turner's is definitely a lot more cheaper on average
about a third of the price Turner's is to Holbein Holbein is about five pounds
of thirty-four a twenty milliliter tube whereas the Turner's acrylic wash is
about one pound eighty per 20 millimeter tube I haven't
tried at the Turner's wash however I've been told by people who who have it's a
very nice squash that Harborne is just slightly nicer
I really like how all the color mix is turned out they're all very nice-looking
they're all very matte and they're all very bright and vibrant this is a
problem I had when mixing with Holbein that sometimes it would lose that
vibrancy we're mixing but this doesn't seem to be the problem with the acrylic
wash I cannot wait to work more with this medium and see what I can achieve I
do follow one or two people that do use acrylic wash as a main medium I think
the main one that I know and the biggest one I know is Nina sprout I believe she
is on instagram at sea and patreon I try and leave a link to her work down below
so you can see what results can be achieved with this there will be a
follow-up video with this one I do a painting demonstration and I give you
more of my final thoughts on how the gouache worked and how it behaved when
mixing because one major difference with this between watercolor and all other
paint media is that you have to rely on black and white for your values in
watercolor we don't have to really worry about that too much the water makes it
the paint lighter and then we just use a complementary color to darken the value
of that color you can use a complementary color with acrylic wash
but you can also use colors like black but you definitely do need to use white
to get a lighter value as if you had too much water then you'll just lose the
intensity of that paint I did do a transparency test for the black properly
because on the other page it was a black marker it didn't really show up with the
black paint so I painted it yellow swatch and painted black over it and it
was fully opaque and the color is also fully dry it doesn't lift and at all
after it's dry I know there is another product on the market called Aquila
which i think is lift the ball up to about 20 minutes to half an hour after
you've painted it and then it's fully set so I did wonder if there
some kind of leeway with that I also did some dispersion tests see how it
dispersed and I also compared it to the watercolor which were about to see one
more important thing I'd like to mention is gouache and acrylic wash works better
if you use a synthetic brush rather than a sable brush as it's a bit of a thicker
paint and it could damage the bristles of your expensive brushes as pink gets
stuck in there and when it dries it will dry permanently it won't wash off like
watercolor does so here's our testing with the Holbein watercolor I've tried
to match the color as close as I could so I'm using yellow deep Viridian hue
and burnt sienna as well in the water color range they are different pigments
to the acrylic wash range but still they're similar in hue and the acrylic
wash is there on the left hand side for the yellow and you'll see it moves
instantly in water and flows exceptionally well especially compared
to the water color I've swapped it around and the water car paint is on the
left now for the Viridian and the burnt sienna and you can see that the Viridian
hardly moves in the water as opposed to the acrylic wash which will move quite a
lot the same thing happened with the burnt sienna
I find this slightly odd as a watercolor paint is made to move through water more
so than acrylic wash so this is very kind of strange for me
I have really enjoyed this new experience of this new medium if anybody
has any suggestions or recommendations on how to use paint a little bit more or
suggestions that anything I should paint or look at in the next video then please
leave them down in the comment section below I did do a Reb test to see if the
color would come off at all I went over it with a red brush and nothing I rubbed
as well over the droid color and a little bit of color did come up on the
tissue so that's it for this video and hopefully you will join me in the next
