but now, before I'll take a few weeks off,
I have another video that I'd liketo share with you
a video that I upload every year at the end of December
with the best of beauty
the best of the beauty products from the year that's about to end
In 2016 I divided it in 3 parts, make up, skincare and haircare
while this year I condensed everything in today's video
so get ready for a very long one
and I tell you straight away it will be mainly focused on make up
because it's the cathegory in which there are more new products that
I discovered in 2017 and instantly entered in my top chart of the favourite products
I also included a few skincare bits that I discovered in 2017
and that I wanted to share with you
for all the other things I invite you to check my videos from last year
in case you missed them because
both for skincare and haircare my favourite products are basically the same
you'll find both videos by clicking on the Is that will appear above my head
Ok, I said everything, so let's jump in the 2017 best of beauty video.
as I said I'll mainly focus on make up and I'll try to feature the products
following a somehow logical order, which is the one I use when I apply them
so let's start with face primers
Unfortunately my favourite primer from 2017 it's not yet available in Italy
as it's the Fenty Beauty one, the makeup line launched by Rhianna this year,
and it's the pro filt'r soft matte instant retouch primer
I already featured it in many videos, so it won't be a surprise
I like it because it's lightweight, it reminds me of an hydrating face cream
and it doesn't feel like it cloags the pores
but at the same time if offers a good base for the make up
which lasts a lot longer too
Still speaking about primers
let's talk about eye primers, a product I use on a daily base, otherwise my eye make up would only last 2 seconds
my favourite one in 2017 is Laura Mercier Eye Basics
I like it because the wand is really handy
it's lightweight, you almost cannot feel it, but just like
the Fenty one, it creates a good base for the eye make up
Let's move on, after I applied my primers
I apply the foundation
I couldn't narrow down to just one product, so I went for 2
one is again by Fenty Beauty which, as I said, it's not yet available in Italy,
and the other one is the Lock it Foundation by Kat Von D
They both offer a good coverage
the Kat Von D one maybe a bit more and the finish is definitely matte
the Fenty Beauty one, which I like a bit more and it's a discovery from this year,
still offers a good coverage, but the finish is a bit more dewy, it doesn't make your face
look like a Kabuki mask
I like both a lot and I often mix them together because
you may remember from my past videos that I bought the Fenty one in a shade a bit too dark
while the Kat Von D one is a bit too light
but together they are just perfect
so that's why I featured both in the 2017 best of beauty
By the way I haven't told you yet, but you should know it by now

Ok, let's move on or this video will be to freaking long
the last step to create the make up base is concealer
and here I had a really hard time choosing just one, so I went for 4
because synthesis is a great gift of mine
So they are 4, but they are also quite different
let's start with the first one which is not simply a concealer, but a color corrector
Urban Decay Naked skin in peach which is
perfect to hide dark circles
because it comes in a pink shade that contrasts the dark circles
and at the same time it's light weight, it melts in the skin
and it's like having nothing on, but
it still hides the dark circles, which is great
and I also like the wand and in general I love this kind of wand on concealers
because it makes a lot easier the application
The second I chose is Rimmel wake me up
and I like it because once again it's really light weight
but also very bright, so I use it
with the Naked skin, the wand is nice too
very light weight, very bright , perfect to add some light and hide the dark circles even more
The last 2 are quite similar and the difference with the previous ones
is that they offer a very high coverage so
they should be applied carefully
The first one is Kat Vo D lock it concealer crème
and the second is Too Faced born this way
I like both, but as I said they are quite heavy
so you should apply them with care, I use them both to cover my dark circles
and also to add some light where needed, like the bridge of my nose
on my forehead, on my chin, on the cupid's bow
because they are really out there
and I had to include them in my best of beauty
After I applied the base I usually set it
using a spray which is both a primer and a setting spray
Urban Decay Quick Fix which I had to feature in this video because I discovered it in 2017
and I fell in love with it
as I said it can be used as a primer, so before you apply make up
or as a setting spray as I do to set the base
so after I did my base I spray some on and it allows me to skip the setting powder
which is nice as it means less products on my face and it's a lot quicker too
Ok, let's move to the eyes make up
eyeshadow palettes, this year I fell in love with a few of them and I chose to feature 2 of them
because I had to narrow down
and the first one is Urban Decay Naked heat
I should say that Urban Decay palettes are always amazing, at least the ones I tried
and this one is perfect for me
I already showed it many times and I love it because the shades are all warm ones
brick reds, pink shades, some are shimmer and some are matte
it's a perfect palette to create both everyday looks and more elegant ones and I love it
the other one is
another great classic, there has been a lot of hype around it, it was launched, if I'm not wrong,
last year, in 2016
I'm talking about Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance
I love it and you can tell by looking at it
I used it a lot, once again it's mainly warm toned, warm shades are my faves
This time the majority of them are matte except a few, like the golden shade called Primavera and this pink called Vermeer
anyway you can mix these 2 palettes and I recommend both otherwise I wouldn't have featured them in this video
Let's move on with the eye make up
After I apply the eyeshadow I usually apply the eyeliner and here
I had no doubts because my 2017 favourite is Kat Von D Tattoo liner
one of her best sellers
and there's a reason
well to be honest there's more than just one reason, the first reason is
that you don't need to shake it to get the product out
because by closing the cap it instantly charges up
did you hear it?
another reason is that it's really intense, it lasts all day and it has a
thin felt tip that allows to create a very defined line
even if you are not a pro at applying eyeliner
so of course I had to feature in my best of beauty the tattoo liner
the shade is Trooper, the super black one
What's the next step after applying the eyeliner?
Mascara!
This year it's back the same from last year, if I'm not wrong
because I couldn't find any better one n 2017
I'm talking about Benefit Roller Lash
and by the way I remember that the first time I tried it I wasn't so sure about it
I don't know why , sometimes it happens
but after a few months I fell in love with it and infact it's still
the best mascara on the market, at least in my opinion
what makes it special I think
together with the formula it's the wand
which has these thin plastic bristles
it's bended and allows to perfectly coat the lashes adding volume too
and it's perfect for the bottom lashes too
because the wand is not too big.
With the mascara we ended the eye make up
we still need to talk about eyebrows though
I selected 2 products which I discovered this year
I liked both a lot
the first one is Benefit Goof Proof Brow pencil
I like it because it's super easy to use
on one side it has the spooler to comb the eyebrows
on the other side there's the actual pencil, which is slant and it works like this
and the formula reminds me of a wax , it's easy to apply and the shape of it allows to define the brows in a quite natural way
without loosing too much time, I think it's called goof proof because it's that easy to use
the second product is a new one from 2017, there has been a lot of hype around it
it was all over Instagram and Facebook at a certain moment
I'm talking about Wunderbrow, the brow gel that never smudges or fades away
it lasts until you use a make up remover basically
it has a built in brush, which is quite big
at the beginning I was a bit scared to use the brush, but then I realized
that it's not that hard to use, I apply it roughly with the brush
and then I comb throught the brows with a spooler and that's it
it's perfect in the Summertime because you can swim, sunbathe and it will stay on, amazing!
and the eye make up is done, now let's move to the rest of the face
we applied the foundation, we set it with the setting spray
it's time to contour
and I have to admitt that I'm not very good at it
anyway my favourite product from 2017 is Kat Von D Shade & Light palette
the products are in powder and I like it a lot
because it's quite subtle and it allows to create a soft contour
there are 3 dark shades to contour
and 3 clear shades which can be used as transitional shades
or even as powders to set the make up
All in all I think it's a great palette
and I really like it, so I had to include it in this video
Let's move on with the last two steps of the face make up
My favourite blush for 2017
is the Lancome cushion blush subtil without a doubt
2017 has been the year of cushion style products
the trend started in the previous years, but in 2017 a ton of cushion products were released
my favourite among all is probably this one
the Lancome blush
You have the cushion with the product which is very bright
it gives a heathly and young appearance to your cheeks
it lasts all day , it's easy to apply, it's not
too intense, but it's buildable
and it's definitely my favourite blush for 2017
The last step of my face make up is always
the highlighter and my past year favourite is back
Becca's champagne pop
because in my opinion is the best highlighter on the market
I haven't found anything better yet
I love the golden shine, it's intense, I'm wearing it now as I basically wear it everyday
it's easy to apply and adds a unique gleam of light and brightness
so no doubts Becca's champagne pop shimmering skin perfector is my favourite
the powder one, because I tried the cream version too, but it's not as good
I think it's time to talk about the lips
and once again I had a hard time narrowing down
but looking carefully I can see that I manage to narrow down to 3 products
the first one is
a lip pencil
among all the ones I tried in 2017 my favourite is
the Kat Von D one which I bought towards the end of the year
it's the lip liner in Misfit
I like the burgundy shade, perfect to outline the lips
and it works like this, so you don't need to sharpen the tip
and the tip is always ready, moreover it's super creamy
and lasts a long time
I love to use it on its own too, as a substitute for the lipstick
so I had to feature it
then I have another 2, which are both from Sephora
I have no idea how the line is called
brilliant , but here they are
you can find them in Sephora, they look like this
they have a matte finish, long lasting and they are lovely to wear
they do not dry the lips or feel uncomfortable at all
you can wear them without a problem
ok, that's it for the make up, now I have a few more skincare products I'd like to share
which are the ones I discovered in 2017
The first one is a body butter, the Brazilian Bum Bum cream
I discovered it in 2017 and I already finished it, I only have
a tiny bit left, even if I used it sparingly, so it's time
to restock on it, I love the vanilla fragrance a lot
the texture is velvety and very luxurious I would say
it's a pleasure to apply, it soaks in quickly and it leaves the skin
silky smooth and deeply hydrated
it's amazing and I understand why everyone has been raving about it
so that's Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum cream
then I have 2 Fresh products, because of course I had to feature Fresh
The Black Tea Firming Overnight mask
a leave in mask, which doesn't need to be rinsed off
I often use it as a substitute for my night cream
and in fact it looks like a cream
you apply it at night before going to bed
there's no need to rinse it off
you leave it on through the night and in the morning you simply wash your face
and the skin feels toned up and hydrated
so I really like it and I felt like sharing it with you
and again by Fresh
this year they launched a new lip balm
the caramel one, the sugar lip caramel hydrating beilm...BEILM..Balm
I'm obsessed with it and as you can see from the dent on it I've been using it quite a lot
it's very hydrating, lovely especially in Wintertime
also because the caramel scent is kind of wintery to me and because it's quite rich
and the last two skincare products I'd like to share
are by Sisley
a very highend and expensive brand
but probably also one of the best on the market as far as skincare is concerned
this year I invested a bit more on skincare
and I wish to feature at least these 2 products
The Hydra Global anti age face cream
which I love to pieces
since I started using it I've become obsessed and I think I'll restock it as soon as I'll finish it
even if it's super expensive, 188.00 euro
I love the packaging with the pump on top
which is very handy
pump pump and you apply it on your face
it's fresh, light weight, it soaks in quickly
and it deeply hydrates the skin while fighting the thin lines
and then I have an eye mask, the masque contour des eyeux, which basically means eye mask
but if you say it in french it sounds fancier
you simply apply it on the eye area, you leave it on for 10 minutes
then you remove the excess and rub the residuals in
so it's easy to use and it helps to hydrate and smoothen the eye area
and we reached the end of this very long video all about my favourite beauty products for 2017
I hope you found my suggestions usefull and that you may have got an idea
on which products are worth trying or simply are more suitable for you
if you have a skin type like mine you can use it as a reference
for the skincare world, I remind you that I have a combination to oily skin
which means it's on the oily side in my t zone and on the dry side everywhere
or if you have a make up style similar to mine you can maybe be inspired
