Our topic of grassroots is Impact of healthcare,hygiene and government policies in rural India.
So,people what are the things that come in your mind regarding this topic?
Lack of medicines, various acute and chronic diseases, lesser number of doctors, lack of basic amenties, malnutrition etc.
Well, it's a pretty vast topic
so we're going to cover only HDI in rural area
that is Human Development Index
which states the staged of a pregnant women before and after the birth.
Why are we creating awareness?
Because for the women should have a good gap between their children so that their child has a good heath and will grow better
Because of Adivasi (Tribal) Life, People here don't have knowledge, no education,
so The ASHAs and Sisters go around the village and give information about Human Development Index camp
also we celebrate MAMATA DIN (Mother's Day) on every first Wednesday of month
where we check the non-critical mothers,
we test for blood, HIV, sonography hepatitis etc
Major reason for death of mother is Anemia (lack of Blood).
So the Maharashtra government has taken a initiative through HDI to improve the blood count to 10 -11 gram in 9th month
31 children are also there for the camp to checked up by the paediatrician
we usually take camp for the Malnutrition
If the weight gone down the malnutrition happens
What are the Human reasons for malnutrition?
no sufficient gap between two children
multiple children
No stable job and because of it no money
due to this they don't feed their children properly
also the uncleanliness
long nails , no bath no attention to self
dont take care about themselves live in unclean environment
From being ill MALNUTRITION happens
MALNUTRITION is NOT by DISEASES
MALNUTRITION is because of no knowledge, unawareness, no gap between two deliveries.
Government policies in rural India
first, Janani Suraksha Yojna
where normal delivery cost seven hundred rupees and scissorian delivery cost two thousand two hundred rupees.
Second, Janani Shishu Surakshna Yojna
where unearned wages are given to the mother in 2 phases
first before the birth of the child two thousand rupees
and one after the birth of the child another two thousand rupess.
Third, Pradhan Mantri Maatritva Vandana Yojna
the conditional cash transfer scheme
for pregnant and lactating women 19 years of age or above for the first live birth.
fourth, HDI that is Human Development Index
where during the maternity period check ups are done twice a month for 9 months.

Its been 6 yrs long we are staying in Aine village
1st baby was Twisha then Avik,
now Avik will be 1 yr soon
While I was pregnant I registered name here in PHC
made card and for 9 months proper injections,medicines like to increase hemoglobin were given
on the day of the delivery of the AVIK it was holiday(DASHAHARA)
Since no checkup was done here
so then we went to Dahanu to Check up because of paining
Doctor suggested us to admit it since the delivery time was near
I give Avik everything to eat
EGG,rice etc,but he still cant properly digest and mostly vomit
Vaccinations given to him were Measles vaccine in the 3rd month
also in the 9th month
total 3 times
the Sister(nurse) or ASHA comes to the house at the time of the camp and give the information about the vaccinations
He was suffering from mild fever again and again
we were unable to identify why this is happening.
Then One day,he got high fever above 100F
so we took him to PHC in aine
they gave tablets to temporarily minimize the fever
then they recommended to visit the pediatrician in Dahanu
We took AVIK to Pediatrician at Dahanu on the same day
it costed us ₹ 2000
yesterday i told you 1000 but it cost 2000 including transport
Depends on the quality of the medicine
cheaper or costlier medicine recommended by doctor
If Injection was given to baby then we have to give more money
At the end of this experience
we as a group 8 conclude that our perception regarding healthcare,
regarding healthcare,hygiene and government policies have been completely changed.
The facilities, basic amenities treatment by educated doctors medicines are all available.
Campaigns by government is also run successfully.
We have learnt, observed and understood that healthcare sector in rural India is at intermediate stage and has a long way to go ahead.
