How has the machine benefitted you and your business?
Mhmm
so we, we're a family-owned and run business - oyster farm

And so for us, you know, it could mean that some businesses in the same position might
decide to have more leases or to have more oysters
but for us its about just having some time

So is there other areas that you do use your spare time on?
Like the maintenance of your infrastructure or?
it basically just means that we can be more organized you know I think in the
past we've felt that we're constantly chasing your tale and that's farming
we're in a position where we can
the efficiency of the machine means that we can feel organised
feel on top of things, and we can be more flexible with our time
and that might be, you know, a weekend or it might be...
There's a team of us and we can get, thing is with the machine we can get things done really quickly
That's brilliant
and so you can avoid some of those things like you say
whereas in the past sometimes when you got behind it was very very challenging
so if you were to estimate sort of what the machine takes a day to do
before you had the machine, how long would that have taken you?
I'm not sure I'm the right person to ask because see before
I'd come into the business, you know, probably in a different way than most people
So I couldn't give a specific time, I'm not really sure you know but I mean I know it's...
You know, it's considerable
If you're going to compare getting a sale ready for example
and processing each oyster individually by hand
compared to pouring bags of oysters into a hopper and have them shooting out the other end sized and counted

The program is very user friendly yep
and it's quite self-explanatory it's so we've got a few schemes that have set up
within the computer that we use for different grades, two year old stock if
we're selling and variations in sizes that we use
and also as we're going we can keep an eye on how we feel like the grades are going
and just make slight alterations if we feel like we need to, to the grades so...
it's really easy
