Abbi J from AJ Life Hacks here and today I'm talking about how to be a
morning person, because I'm sure all of us deep down in
our hearts really wish that we were morning people and I'm kind of a theory
that nobody is born a morning person because we would all love to sleep in
all day. I mean I know I do. I love to sleep. I love my naps, but I also
understand the value of mornings and always utilizing our mornings. So today I
wanted to share with you real life, real tested tips, that are going to help you
become a morning person because if you look at any successful person I promise
you that they do not lose their morning and so you shouldn't either.
So keep watching this video and listen to these tips I have for you because
they're gonna help you love-love-love your mornings.
The first step I have for you and I get you've probably heard this before it's a
little silly but it works and that is to take your cell phone, your alarm clock,
whatever wakes you up and put it on the other side of the bedroom. I mean it. Like
nowhere close to you. You literally have to get out of bed to turn off that
phone and with that comes no snooze buttons. I there's been article after
article about how snoozing is not good for your sleep our body needs just a
solid time and I get I've been there where I purposely set my alarm clock
half an hour early so I think, "oh I get asleep in." But the best way to start to
wake up feeling refreshed and energized for your day is to make sure you don't
have a snooze button and that you have to actually get out of bed and go get
your phone and with this make sure that volume is blasting really high.
My second tip for you is to commit to a time that's reasonable to wake up in the
morning. I can't tell you about how many people who say, "oh yes come New Year's
Day I am gonna be a morning person. I'm gonna start waking up at 5:00 a.m. I'm
gonna get everything done before I even head out the door to work." And they are
living in la-la land and they totally get that all sounds amazing on paper
right? Well when it actually comes to it anytime that is really, really early and
you know what depending on a person that's different times. Maybe 5 a.m. is
perfectly reasonable for you to get up because you go to bed so early. Maybe
it's not but don't commit to a time that you absolutely know that there's really
no purpose A, but B that you're not going to commit to because there is no
purpose to it. Yeah you can get up at 5 but you can also get up at 7 and still
have an hour before work and still have time to do all those things that you
need to do. So whatever is early to you and is reasonable and makes sense and
can help you achieve your goals. Set your alarm clock to that time.
Don't be an over shooter on this one because you know what waking up at 4
a.m. might sound like a great idea until it's 3:59 and your alarm clock sounds and
then you're gonna be hating life. So commit to a time that you can
actually stick to for a long period of time. My third tip for you today is to
actually reward yourself for being a morning person
now this can come in a lot of different ways but I I know that whenever I have a
successful morning I call it or I get up on time, I go to the gym, I get everything
done before I need to head out the door, that to me is a successful morning and
every time I can do that I consciously remind myself and say, "hey I feel so
great! I don't feel rushed I am having an
amazing day already!" And it's because I committed to being a morning person. It's
because I was so willing to get up and do something hard. You know, we all want
to sleep in. So that can be reward of itself or you can literally say, "hey if I
wake up on time every day and do my one hour of personal study or prep before
work or workout or whatever it is you want to achieve in the mornings I'm
gonna go out and I'm gonna buy this new dress. I'm gonna go buy this new Xbox
feature I want you." Reward yourself! At first you know what it might have to
be a big reward and later on it's just that amazing feeling but making it worth
it to you. After about two weeks you're gonna realize that this habit is getting
easier and easier and easier for you and that reward is gonna be more natural in
feeling good, in looking better with less bags under your eyes and clearer skin so
maybe our first reward yourself heavy and then realize you know the physical
and natural results of being a morning person.
My last step for you today, obvious I know, but people never ever ever do this:
go to bed on time! Yeah, we can get up at any time that we force ourselves to but
do we feel good? Does it make us want to do it the next day? Our bodies are
amazing and I know people who can go days without sleep but it's just so
horrendous on our bodies and so make sure that if you
truly want to be a morning person that you are getting a reasonable like seven
to eight hours of sleep a night. Now I get this is ideal. I don't even get that
all the time but try try your very best and make sure that you are achieving the
goals of when you want to wake up and so that you can be one of those amazing
people who get so much done in the morning and that leaves your schedule
free. Free to fill it with time with family, time with friends, time to hang
out and watch movies, and read books and just do some fun stuff because you got
so much done in the morning. So there you have it those are my tips for you about
becoming a morning person. Now you can use these tips, you can use all of
them, some of them, but try them out. Comment below if they're working for you and
please give this a big thumbs up. Share this video around and please, please,
