episode 2 of the podcast I taught a prayer that you can declare over your
family every single morning no matter how busy you are now what I said in the
episode is that you could actually declare this prayer in 20 seconds or
less and you might ask well what can you do in 20 seconds well in the episode I
go into quite a bit of detail about this prayer it's really only five words that
you declare over your family and in the podcast episode I go through detail what
each of the five words means and their significance in the context of this
prayer so check out the episode before you continue if you haven't seen the

video is I'm teaching you five hand gestures that go with each of the five
words and these five hand gestures will help you and your kids even your young
kids remember this prayer like easily okay the five words that make up the
prayer are wisdom peace favor strength and protection and so I've come up with
five hand gestures that will help you remember each of these five words again
check out the episode because I go into a lot of detail about the significance
of each one of these five words but this episode or this video is just to teach
you the five hand gestures so that you can easily remember and teach the prayer
to your kids all right so the first word in the
prayer is wisdom and the episode I talked about how wisdom was what God
gives us to make good decisions and right choices so since it's number one
and wisdom is for making right decisions and right choices we point to the temple
of our head and we just say we is dumb right that's the first one you
can teach this to your kids wisdom wisdom the ability to make right
decisions and good choices so number one the first component of the prayer is
wisdom all right that's the first one now the second one is peace and so you
know where I'm going with this if wisdom is right here then all you have to do is
bring your hand down from here to here and make the universal international
symbol for peace and there you go the very second component of the prayer the
second word of the prayer peace so very easily you go wisdom peace wisdom peace
that's it now the third element or the third word of the prayer is favor so
what we do is that from right here from peace we simply do a thumbs up now why a
thumbs up well because when a bro asks you for a favor
well you say yeah I hope you out sure why not
oh I'll help you out with that favor so even though we're talking about God's
favor and I go into a lot of detail in the podcast episode about what that
means we're gonna use this thumbs up to remind us of the third word of the
prayer favor so we've got wisdom peace favor all right
fourth word of the prayer is strength and again I go into detail about what it
means to have God's strength but from here from favor all you're gonna do but
you already know where I'm going with this from here you're just gonna go up
here make sure you don't you know tear your sleeve watch the guns right but
here this is a symbol for strength you can remember in the prayer about God's
strength so here we go wisdom peace favor strength those are
the first four words the the final word the fifth in the final word is
protection you're gonna pray God's protection over your kids every single
morning and so right now we're we're here for strength and in the episode I
talked about how God's protection is is this God is a shield and Psalm chapter 3
talks about that God is a shield so from strength up here you're just gonna bring
your arm down in front of you as if you are holding a shield and that will
remain remind you of God's protection protection so those are the five
elements of the prayer and the five hand gestures that go with the prayer you can
teach this to your kids very easily and it makes it easier for you to remember
the five words of the prayer every single morning wisdom peace favor
strength and protection now I've taught this at my church I've taught this in
other places and parents have told me that kids as young as three and four
years old are able to remember this prayer because of the hand gestures is
they're just that easy sometimes when I go to the church where I'm on staff I'll
have some people just kind of point at me and they'll start doing the hand
gestures and this is years later I mean I preached this sermon or this teaching
a long time ago and years later they'll see me in the hall and they'll start
doing the gestures as I taught them so really easy hand gestures that you can
use to remember this prayer to teach this prior to your kids and eventually
after enough times your kids will be able to lead the prayer themselves using
these five hand gestures now to again to know and to understand the significance
of each of these five words and how they fit in this prayer listen to the episode
