Howdy folks, today we have just a little video going over a little calculator I've made.
It allows you to narrow down your searches for specific planet types by a huge degree.
All you have to do is type in the galaxy type you are currently in, this being 1 for Balanced
which also happens to be the Default, the 4 Subtypes of Balanced being Imperfect, Parallel,
Improved and Rebuilt if it's any of those just type in 1
If it's a Lush Galaxy also known as Tranquil, Inspiring, Serene or Halcyon then type in
2.
If it's a Vicious galaxy you are in also known as Raging, Ruthless, Relentless or Burning
then type in 3.
And if it's an Abandoned Galaxy also known as Ancestral, Silent, Exhausted or Frozen
type in 4.
That 1 number that relates to the galaxy you are in and therefore want the info about is
all you need to input.
Once you have done so you will see the data below, the second section shows the Predictions,
these are the Star types that are most likely to host that planetary biome type.
As well as this it will show you the chance of life, this chance of life prediction is
based on the basic data from the game, now we don't know how it is specifically calculated,
but with each system type having a different number, the maths on this I've setup takes
into account the Dead and Weird planetary biome type spawn rate and makes a calculation
for the chance of getting a planet capable of supporting life within that system then
take that percentage from the basic life chance number.
After that, it's a simple which number is higher type deal and that gives us our answer.
The other star systems to go to based on the biome criteria is a simple case of getting
the percentage value of 1 from summing up the available biome spawn frequency values
and then once again, seeing which system type has the highest percentage chance.
The Extreme environment one is there but it only concerns the Vicious Galaxy type which
has a higher frequency of extreme environments, all others are just normal.
For those who want it, there is some raw data for the chosen galaxy type in the 2nd section.
Also, Yes, I do understand that a drop-down menu for picking the galaxy type would have
been cleaner and much preferred and it was as that's how I originally built it, but it
appears data validation does not work in browsers on excel spreadsheets so I had to rewrite
half the damn thing.
Oh and a full epicly detailed guide to Spectral Classes is coming your way hopefully tomorrow
I hope you find this simple yet very useful little tool to your liking, if you do, please
hit that like button and share with your fellow travelers, subscribe if you haven't already
and consider checking out my Patreon, a dollar a month is a great way to support the channel.
But above all, have an awesome day folks!
How silly of me, nearly forgot to say, the link to the calculator is in the description
and on screen now, though if you prefer manual you can head to xainesworld.com/nmsplanetcalc/
