Youtube daily report Jan 15 2019

[Music]

We don't like to think that people are hurt by other people but, unfortunately, it happens.

When someone is hurt or threatened, by someone else, he or she can

file a police report, and can choose to apply for a family restraining order or a civil protection order.

A family restraining order is also commonly

referred to as a temporary restraining order or TRO, and it is issued by the Family Court.

A civil protection order is commonly referred to as a CPO and is issued by the civil court.

There are differences between these two orders

of protection, such as, who can apply for each order and the types of behaviors

they're intended to prevent, so knowing which order to apply for can be confusing.

Knowing the differences will help you determine which order to apply

for, and which court to go to. It will also help you when communicating with

court personnel or law enforcement.

One of the things that causes confusion between the

orders are the similarities. Both orders of protection can be issued when one

person is being harmed or in some cases, threatened, by another person.

No arrest is required to get a TRO or a CPO, and there are no fees to obtain them.

Another similarity between the orders is that both use the same language when

referring to who is applying for an order as well as who the order is issued against.

For example, on both orders, the person applying for the order is called

the applicant and the person the order is against is called the respondent.

Despite these similarities there are some important differences between the two orders.

TRO's and CPO's are issued by different courts, they're used to

protect applicants from different types of crimes or actions, and there are

different offices and agencies that help the applicant file for the order and

advocate on behalf of the applicant.

The first major difference between a TRO

and a CPO is that the type of order you apply for is determined by whether

or not the respondent meets the definition of a family or household member,

so it is important to define who this person is.

[Music]

If the respondent meets the definition of family or household member,

the applicant applies for a TRO. To apply for a TRO, the applicant must know the

respondent, perhaps intimately. On the other hand, if the respondent does not

meet the definition of family or household member, the applicant applies for a CPO.

The respondent may be an acquaintance or co-worker, a landlord or

neighbor, or, perhaps, someone the applicant doesn't know at all.

Another difference between the orders is the action the respondent is being accused of.

A person may apply for a TRO when they've been subjected to a continuous

threat of present physical injury, stalking, or a pattern of threatening

by a family or household member.

A person may apply for a CPO when they've been sexually assaulted,

sexually abused, or stalked by someone who is not a family or household member.

To obtain a CPO, the applicant cannot

already have an existing order of protection related to the incident.

These are the main differences between a TRO and a CPO to help you decide which

order you may be eligible for. There are many things to take into account when

deciding to apply for an order of protection.

It's important to know that an order of protection is only one part of a safety plan.

You may want to seek guidance from an advocate or counselor,

someone who has training and experience

working with people in these situations, so you can consider all of the options

available to you. If you're not sure what to do and you think you need protection,

don't hesitate to ask. We invite you to visit our website, call us, email us, or visit us.

And if we can't help you, we can usually refer you to an organization that can.

If you leave us a message, we'll get back to you by the next business day.

The Office of Victim Services is an agency that you never want to need but

if you do need it they offer a range of services that people will find very helpful.

Facts: The Leafy Seadragon - Duration: 1:50.

The leafy sea dragon is a slow swimming fish that can only be found in the coastal waters of southern Australia

down to 82 feet (25 m) deep

These curious creatures utilize their leaf shaped appendages to help them blend with the surrounding

seaweed and kelp in their environment

They will even sway back and forth like plants in the water

Camouflage is their primary defense against predators

In addition, their body is covered in hard, bony plates with spines

When threatened, a leafy sea dragon may curl up and present its spines to attacking fish

Leafy sea dragons can grow up to 14 inches (36 cm) long

It is thought that they can live seven to ten years

Since sea dragons have no teeth,

they possess a tube-like snout that acts like a straw to suck in prey and swallow it whole

They must feed constantly on small organisms like plankton and shrimp

Mating takes place during the summer

A female can lay 200 to 300 eggs

She will deposit them in the male's brood patch

located on the underside of his tail

Males are responsible for caring for the eggs

The male will incubate the eggs for around six weeks

When the eggs hatch, the male only releases a few at a time,

causing it to take hours or days for all the young to be released

Leafy sea dragons are threatened by pollution,

habitat destruction, and poaching

Itt is illegal to collect leafy sea dragons from the wild

Le livre de Lia : Vérité première - Duration: 4:46.

Hi Geeks!

Oh yes, no, that's already taken.

Happy New Year !

What? We are still in January I have the right!

For this first Bragelonne chronicle of the year

I will present you a book Milady!

But the first row students remember my first video

"But as Milady is a Bragelonne label,

I'm fine, I still have a bit of headroom before losing my head. "

So everything is fine !

Today, let's talk about a series that is particularly close to my heart:

the Truth series and more particularly

Volume 1: The first truth written by Dawn Cook

No, the second is not called Truth

I do not know if I'm very proud of that one

you help me decide?

Dawn Cook, better known as Kim Harrison,

discovered a talent for writing at the age of 15.

She first tried the SF

then preferred to write fantasy and Bit-Lit.

From what I understood it is rather Bit-Lit under his pseudo

and fantasy under his real name.

First Truth is, you will understand,

a fantasy book.

And what a fantasy novel!

I had already read the entire series

At the same time, there are only 4!

before starting the videos

but thanks to you I'm doing all the rereading

and it's always the same happiness!

You know what we're going to do now huh?

Here we go.

"You've stayed up late," she said in the morning silence.

I do not remember hearing you go home.

Alissa stiffens.

<i> By the ashes </ i>, she thought.

Her mother had not heard her come back because she

had fallen asleep in the garden. One more time.

- I was outside, on the rock.

I stared at the night, she admitted, struggling to take a harmless tone.

The fat, near the square squash.

Standing in front of the sink, her mother sighed

then turned to the window,

still brewing pumpkin seeds

she had soaked for the night.

- I was not alone, tried weakly to justify Alissa.

Serre was with me.

Her mother's shoulders sagged, but she said nothing.

She did not hold in high regard the only and

Alissa's unique pet.

The latter knew it well.

The fact that Serre was flying at night did not improve things.

Kestrels were not supposed to behave this way,

but no one had informed Serre

and this little quirk was negligible.

<i> At least, in my eyes, </ i> Alissa thought,

who did not pay attention.

With stoic resignation,

the girl pouted and began to scratch

the charred parts of his toast

using his knife.

The bread had only burned on one side.

At least the other half would be edible.

She looked up and saw her mother settle down a little more

itself at each repetition of the dry sound.

The breakfast was still "successful".

Applying the precautionary principle,

Alissa had been taking care of the kitchen for years,

but his mother stubbornly refused to let him prepare breakfast. "

Truth first is the story of Alissa,

Métis child of foothills and plains,

who wakes up one morning to smell the bread burned by his

mother having spent the night in the garden.

As a result, her mother sends her out, telling her to go

to find the fortress his father told him about,

missing for 14 years, to study magic.

Logic.

Except magic, Alissa, she does not believe it.

But hey, even if he gets kicked out

a society where she is absolutely hated,

Miscegenation, racism, all that,

just go there!

On his way, accompanied by his pet kestrel,

Normal,

she's going to meet Strell,

young and talented flutist from the plains,

who just learned that his family was

washed away by a flood 5 years ago.

Happy meeting!

But it will mostly happen 2/3 little things

who will question his beliefs ...

In fact, everything is perfectly explained

but it's true that when we read the first chapters

we have an impression of a sequence

not very logical events.

But I assure you, it's just an impression.

All pieces of the puzzle come together

more or less quickly but

always in the right timing.

Things are put in place while they will only serve

much later in the saga,

so that reading and proofreading

are 2 very different experiences.

And that, I love!

Magic, as in all the fantasy books I love,

is very well led, well explained

and has its own rules and codes.

You will have understood since time,

I do not like stories where magic has no explanation.

Or, if she does not have one, she must at least have some rules.

Otherwise it's way too easy.

What more can be said ?

The characters are very well built,

are truly endearing and have

a real path of evolution.

The author has also managed to build a universe

simple, understandable and completely consistent.

In short, this saga is a pure delight of imagination.

None of his books is a disappointment,

history never slows down

and I would have asked for rab!

But hey, the best things come to an end!

In conclusion, if you want to escape

a bit of your everyday life, I really recommend this series.

In any case I can not wait to read what you thought!

We find ourselves in the comments?

Chao!

H is for Helen - Duration: 1:09.

H is for Helen so here's a little something about me. I'm a Virtual

Assistant and the Co-Owner of Aggrandize VA Limited, along with the fabulous Susan.

When I was eight years old my mom and dad brought me my first typewriter

and I just fell in love with typing. I used to get my family to write lists,

letters anything just so I could type it and from that moment on all I ever

wanted to be was the secretary. So when I left school I went to college to train

to be a legal secretary and after leaving college got my first job as a

junior secretary. Over 20 years I've held positions in all levels of

administration and more recently I've been a member of a senior management

team responsible for administration within the organization. Over the past 20

years I have gained vast skills, knowledge and experience and this helps provide a

first-class service to all our clients. And outside of work I'm a wife a mom and

a dog owner who loves spending time with her family. I also love learning new

skills and have recently started Spanish lessons so it's mucho gusto from me

MY FIRST SURF TRIP TO SOUTH AFRICA | VLOG 2 - Duration: 7:00.

Good morning from Jeffreys Bay.

Currently, we're hanging out at the Surf Lodge South Africa.

It is 7 am

and we're going to the beach now

for a sunny early morning walk.

Nothings better than wake up early,

hear the ocean and get out of the bed for a morning walk.

Especially, when you don't have it at home.

It's so beautiful here.

The lodge has its own private way to the beach.

And at 9 am is the first surf lesson.

Means just grab a board and walk down to the beach.

Super chill.

But now, it's time for the first coffee

and some breakfast

and then

it's time to go surfing.

I would like to show you our stay

for the last couple of days.

We chilled at the Surf Lodge South Africa in J-Bay

and found it via PURE surfcamps online.

That's the entrance.

This is Ludi, the lodge manager.

And here is the reception,

where you find all activities for the day.

Today is Friday, today are some surf lessons

and yoga in the evening.

And tonight is a big barbecue.

Here is a living room

and a big kitchen

to hang and chill out and connect with the other guests.

And here, is the most beautiful thing: the view!

The lodge is located at the beach and you can enjoy an amazing

view of the ocean and beautiful sunsets.

Here is the yoga area with an ocean view

and sometimes the sessions are at the beach.

For me it's

the perfect place to meet some new people,

hang out, do some sports, yoga and go surfing.

But also for non-surfers, it is a great place to explore South Africa.

And also as a couple it has enough space to get some privacy.

So I can highly recommend you to come here.

How to Use Captions on YouTube ft. Jessica Kellgren-Fozard - Duration: 6:41.

Captioning and subtitling your videos

opens it up to a much larger

audience increasing both your

reach and engagement.

When your video is easy to understand,

it's also easy to share.

In this second video I'll be taking you

through exactly how you can

reach that wider audience.

Hi, I'm Jessica Kellgren-Fozard

and I'm a deaf YouTuber. On my channel

I make fun and chatty and

educational videos all about

deaf awareness, disabilities,

gayness, travel, fashion.

It's a whole load of things.

I also have cute dogs

who like to steal the show.

I went deaf in my teens, so I know

just how important captions are.

But, it isn't only deaf and hard

of hearing people who benefit

from captions.

As I explained in the previous

video, a huge amount of the

YouTube audience uses captions from

those in noisy environments,

sound sensitive environments,

people who've got processing disorders,

people who are learning English as

a second language, and of course

it's useful to you as a creator.

YouTube's own automatic

captioning has increased

dramatically since it was first

rolled out.

They're currently also available in English language livestreams

for channels that have over 10,000 subscribers.

The technology has now come so

far, that it's apparently just short of the human

transcription error rate.

If automatic captions are

available in your video, you can

review and edit them at anytime to make

them more accurate.

Just go to your Video Manager

and click on Edit, Subtitles/CC

next to the video that you want to edit.

And then click on the automatic

captions track.

Every time you

submit a correction or

suggestion to the track that YouTube has

created for you,

you're actually helping the

machine to learn.

If you find it faster though

making captions all by yourself, or you

know that you use a lot of technical words

the machines have great trouble

picking up on,

There are other options.

Here are the three ways you can

create your own captions tracks

Start from your Video Manager.

In the drop down menu next

the video you'd like to add a

captions track to, click

Subtitles/CC.

Select your language,

and you will have one of three options.

The first is "Upload a file".

This is for when you've already created a closed

captions file off site.

There are a variety of websites where you can do this

and there are some companies

that you can pay,

and they'll caption a video for you.

This type of file would contain

both the text and the time codes

for exactly when each line of

text should be displayed.

Some files also include position

and style information which is

particularly important for deaf or hard of

hearing viewers. The next is

"Transcribe and auto-sync".

This is a really great option

for videos that already have a script

or a voice over. Simply copy and

paste your script into the box.

Then just click "Set timings" and you're done.

This will take a few minutes as

YouTube's voice recognition

software automatically connects

the written word to the spoken.

Once they're ready your

new closed captions will be

automatically published.

You can then go in and edit them

if the time is a little off.

This option is a great time saver.

And finally "Create new subtitles or CC".

OK, this option is a little more

labor intensive, but it's a

really good option for free

flowing formats like vlogs and so on.

YouTube will give you automated timing blocks

where it recognizes that there is speech,

but you can turn this option off

if you don't like it.

Type your content into each box and if you

need to change when it starts

and ends, you can do so by

dragging the borders.

A great thing about this option

is that if you don't have time to finish

the whole video, you can save it

as a draft, and come back, finish

and publish later.

No matter which option you choose, please do remember to

include not just the spoken word,

but also audio sound cues such as:

Anything to help your deaf

or hard of hearing viewers, or just

those who've got the sound off.

If you only make videos as a

hobby, or you release them daily,

captioning them or can seem like quite a task.

You might also not be able to pay for

a service to do them for you and

that is where YouTube's amazing

feature community captions comes in handy.

Community contributions allow one or more of your viewers

to create not only a captions file,

but also transcriptions into

different languages for your

video. These are then submitted to

you to be checked, or your community

can review them for you.

That's actually the way I caption

most of my videos.

Before your community can submit closed caption files,

of subtitles, or even translated

titles and descriptions,

you need to turn the option on,

either for one video or for all of them.

To turn community contributions on with just one click,

go to your Creator Studio.

Select "Translations and Transcriptions"

in the side bar. Click that settings

wheel and then "Turn on for all videos".

There's also the ability to turn them on

just specific videos.

Go to your Video Manager.

Next to "Edit", click the drop down menu

next to your video and select "Info & Settings".

Under the video

click "Advanced settings" and then scroll down to where

you can select "Allow viewers to contribute translated titles, descriptions, and subtitles/CC".

Click "Save changes" and you're done!

After a viewer has submitted their translation or transcriptions,

YouTube will moderate it for spam or

inappropriate content. You can manage it

by reviewing, editing, publishing, flagging

or just rejecting it.

You can also allow your Community just to

review the content for you

and it will automatically be

published once enough people

have said it's ok.

Currently, people watch videos with automatic captions

more than 15 million times a day

and the number of videos with

them on YouTube is an

astonishing 1 billion.

Don't let your channel get left

behind.

Make sure these videos are

captioned and you're reaching

the widest audience possible.

I hope these two videos have showed you just how

important captions are.

They're an invaluable tool for audience expansion,

viewer engagement, content retention,

improved video discovery and of course improved SEO.

If you'd like to know more about captioning YouTube videos,

I have a dedicated playlist on my channel.

If you'd like to learn about other areas

of making YouTube videos,

then stay on the YouTube Creator's channel

to find out more.
