we completed radical cystoprostatectomy.

The operation lasted for 4.5 to 5 hours and we concluded very successfully.

K-State Today | Jan. 28 - Feb. 3 - Duration: 1:46.
Being from California, this frozen water and snow is it? Is totally foreign to us. Andrea, we're not from California.
Well… I'd like to be. Well we're not, so let's embrace the brisk winds of Kansas. Take us to this week's events.
In Kansas, the weather is unpredictable…and sometimes the people. So, you have to be ready for anything.
That's why you should attend UPC's self defense class on Monday. Make sure you have your student ID
and it's first-come, first served, so unless you want to be served up on a silver pla- Okay, okay.
The people in Kansas are generally nice. So, just go to the class.
Speaking of friendly, courageous people, K-State is honoring Martin Luther King Jr. with MLK observance week.
There will be a teach-in, a candlelight vigil, a luncheon, and more. So visit the event website for more information.
After honoring such a powerful figure, I just feel so small. Like I haven't made much of an impact.
Aww Rachel, you should never feel small…but if that's something you want to experience, you should check out K-State Computers and Technology's showing of the movie Downsizing.
Isn't Matt Damon in that movie? He's from Kansas, right? No… but we are.

World's Weirdest Animals: Gharial - Duration: 4:14.
Living along only one river in India is a reptile on the brink of extinction.
On this episode of world's weirdest animals we bring you the gharial.
Measuring 11 to 20.5 feet or 3.3 to 6.2 meters long and weighing in at 351 to 551 lbs or
159 to 250 kg the gharial crocodile has inhabited the earth for over 150 million years.
With a yellow belly and a dark to olive colored back this reptile has an elongated snout with
106 to 110 razor sharp teeth which is what makes them so iconic.
This carnivorous creature grows up eating frogs and insects and will eventually feed
on fish, their long snout and teeth make for the perfect trap to catch their prey.
Large spherical growths on the snout are a telling sign it's a male gharial which is
where these reptiles get their name from.
Appearing like an Indian pot called a ghara, these creatures were dubbed gharial.
These growths are used to create loud hissing and buzzing noises that attract the females
during mating season from December to January.
These solitary reptiles are territorial and become quite aggressive during mating season.
When a male and female have chosen each other as mates they'll rub heads and snouts in
their courting process.
Living most of their lives in the water the gharial will leave the comfort of the water
to lay eggs on the sandy riverbanks.
Their webbed hind feet aid in swimming but are not much use on land as they can't support
their weight.
Instead they'll glide on their bellies across the sand using their legs to push themselves.
Females will dig a hole in the sand with their rear feet and lay 20 to 95 eggs in a season.
The eggs will be covered up with sand and be defended by the mother until they hatch.
Often sandy patches along the river will be full of females who'll fight over the highest
Sandy spot along the bank.
A quick snap, hiss and a bump of the heads will go on until one of the females backs
down.
After the eggs are laid mongoose, jackals and lizards are the main predators to look
out for to keep the eggs safe.
Each eggs weighs about 6 ozs which is much heavier than a crocodile egg.
After 85 days the younglings will release a call to alert the mother they are ready
to hatch.
The mother will dig them up and after hatched guide them to the water where they'll stay
together the first few weeks.
Being able to reproduce at around age 8 for females and age 14 for males this delayed
maturity of their reproductive systems doesn't bode well for them increasing their scarce
numbers.
While they do live up to 60 years old there are currently around 200 of them left in the
wild down from 10,000 of them back in 1940.
Their last stronghold is the Chambal river in India which is somewhat secluded from the
rest of civilization but it'll take more than luck to keep this critically endangered
species alive.
In 2008 a mass die off of the Gharials took place.
It was completely unknown why but the Indian government set out to find the reason.
Researchers along with skilled locals with net trapping ability caught some gharials
and attached some radio trackers to their tails.
Each tracker was set to a different frequency so they could be followed individually.
In the end no direct cause was found but it's suspected that illegal dumping of toxins possibly
heavy metals into the river is what's to blame.
They did find something from the radio telemetry which was unexpected which is that a single
gharial male will defend creches up to 1000 babies from predators and other gharial.
Gharials coexist with people quite well on the Chambal river.
They don't pose immediate danger as like a crocodile or alligator does, this is because
their diet is primarily made up of fish and they have little desire to chomp down on a
human.
If we can just give them some space, provide them some areas to nest the species might
just survive.
