The þing-stone in Strandafjorden and Olav "the Holy"s terrorizing of Valdres (ENG subtitles) - Duration: 11:54.

550 mounds, 900 finds from 300 AD and until the Viking age.
Amongst countless stone mounds...
At the center of the field we find Norways oldest rune stone "Einangsteinen" from 300 AD.
Inscription: "I, the gods guest, carved these runes"
The þing stone.
We are in Aurdal in the valley of Valdres. A beautiful place, packed with cultural heritage and sites.
Especially from pagan times.
The reason for my love for this area, is that most of my ancestors lived her, predating the written sources.
My blood is of this soil, since long before the black plague and back to pagan times.
...as far back you can possible go.
A sad story for my ancestors in this context, is the forced Christianization of this valley in particular, and Olav "the Holy"s terrorization of the tribes here.
He stood on the þing stone, and tried first with "sweet talk" and later with force and violence to make my pagan ancestors to submit
Submit to a new allmighty unelected king, kiss the cross and discard their laws and pagan traditions.
To swear lojalty to a foreign desert religion...
From the written source Snorris Heimskringla, we can read about this:
"When the autumn came, the King sailed into the fjord and further into Valdres.
There, they were all pagans. The King went as fast as he could from the sea.
There, he met the pagans by surprise. He took their ships and went aboard himself with all of his men.
Then, he sent out a message to all for assembly at the þing. The assembly was held by the water, so the King had control over their ships, if he needed to.
The pagans came to the assembly, fully dressed for battle as an army.
The King offered them Christendom, but the pagans shouted and screamed against him.
They told him to shut up, and made heavy noise with weapons and shields.
When the King saw that they would not listen to his preaching, and that they were so hard and many, he started to talk of something else...
The King asked them if there were any of them who had unsettled disputes amongst them, that he could help solve.
When the pagans had spoken, it seemed that there were such disputes.
Every party of the minor disputes gathered others to support them, on each side.
The whole day went by, discussing minor disputes internally... And the assembly was split up during the night.
As soon as the pagans heard that King Olav "the Holy" came through Valdres, they had sent out the message to gather the army, all free men and servants.
With that army, they would battle the King. Every pagan was in the army, so every settlement was desolate.
The pagans still stuck together, after the assemby was ended.
The King got that information, and he immediately sailed up again. During the night, he let his men set all the pagan houses and settlements on fire.
They burned down and plundered every settlement...
The following day the King and his men continiued on both sides of the fjord, so no settlement was untouched...
When the pagans gathered in the army saw this, and their respective houses lit on fire, they broke out, one by one, to see after their settlements.
This made the earlier syncronized pagan army to split up, scattered out in the respective areas of the valley, in smaller groups.
But, the King continiued, and burned everything on both sides of the fjord.
Then, some pagans came to him and asked for mercy. He gave those who did, and let them still have their properties.
Now, there were fewer who spoke up against Christendom...
The King had the tribes baptized, while taking their family members as hostages".
This is only one example of how Norway was "Christianized". How Olav "the Holy" terrorized pagan Norway.
He was killed a little later at Stiklestad by the pagan army of Tore Hund.
But, the way to his fall was paved with violence, murder, extreme use of force, hostages, torture, destruction, lies, "split and rule" and betrayal.
Olav was called "Digre" (fat) by the pagans, but he got his nickname "the Holy" after Norway officially was submitted to Christendom.
He killed off the best of, not just my blood, but every Norwegians ancestrial blood...
...those who stood up against this foreign, desert religion, and fought for their ancestrial traditions and laws.
Those who think that Sharia laws are something new in Norway, must think again. It is only a thousand years since last time...
Every year in the summer time people pay to see theaters of the great Olav "the Holy".
They have this celebration for him called "Olsok" (of course at a time that prior to him was a pagan festival).
Ever since my childhood I have found it to be the biggest paradox:
That we in Norway even celebrate and set on a pedestal the nations biggest folk murderer and traitor of all times.
But, to conclude this on a positive note: even with all this violence, murders and destructions...
Olav "the fat" and all his successors did not manage to destroy our heritage here, and many other places in Norway.
Valdres is packed with pagan heritage and folk traditions, wich I have studied for decades and used in my work.
These are very often all pagan traditions, hidden under a thin layer of "Christian plagiarism".
All these circumstantial evidences bear witness of a extraordinay rich pagan heritage - here and elsewhere - thousands of years prior to Olav "the fat".
We have to conserve this. Carry them forward. We must lift them up, and forward - from the ashes after Olav "the fat".
To all pagan "Oppdøler" who gave their lives, and fiercly fought for their freedom and independece.

and we were moving towards security forces...
at their first check post near Shirmal.
Suddenly we heard pellet gun shots
I fell down.
I saw all of us had fallen down.
I saw blood oozing from face of few Journalists.
I took out my handkerchief to wipe their blood.
My friend working in Hindustan Times told me you are wiping our blood...
First see what has happened to you.
I told him I am not able to see clearly.
He said you have pellets all over your face.
I cannot say whether it was a deliberate attempt or not.
But the fact is that pellets were fired on us.
I had wore vest and camera was in my hand.
Besides me my other journalist friend was also wearing vest.
And behind us other one was wearing helmet.
Rest had camera in their hands.
It was clear to them that we are Journalist.
Still they fired pellets on us.
which hit us directly.
I started my degree in Mass communication in year 2014
and since 2016 I am working as Professional Journalist.
In these years has anything such thing happened to you before?
There are many episodes but pellets has been fired on me first time.
We have faced humiliation many a times.
But this was first such incidence.
The humilation you have faced, do you think it is part of harassment.
Anything can happen in conflict zone.
We face humiliation in such way that whenever we went to shoot...
they stop us by targeting their guns towards us to check our identity.
After checking our identity they let us shoot.
If we talk about Freedom of Press....
we cannot see it here.
We can see freedom of press only written in Books, Magazines, Articles etc
But In India at grass root level we cannot see it anywhere.
We have seen Freedom of Press in the case of Kamran Yousuf, Shujaat Bukhari (Chief Editor of Raising Kashmir), Asif.
Is that Freedom of Press?
Today what happened to us, Is that Freedom of Press?
No, we do not have Freedom of Press here.
Security forces are given free hand.
If any one from Press does any mistake, every security agency will be after him.
I am not saying he should not be answerable.
If any area faces difficulties due to me, they should teach me not to do it again.

We are still confused why pellets were fired on us.
We neither had stone nor any such weapon by which we can harm them.
We only had cameras in our hands.
That's why we are still confused why we were targeted.
This is not first incidence in Kashmir where pellets were fired on Journalists.
Zuhaib and Muzamil Matto of Srinagar downtown were also hit by pellets.
In that incidence Zuhaib loss his eye sight.
Certainly in Shopian district pellets were fired on one more Journalist Ajaz Ahmad Dar....
when he was doing his professional duty.
I request government to control this unruly forces....
and let us live a life with dignity and freedom.
or if they feel Press is not good for Kashmir, they should ban it permanently.

Přišel do laboratoře, a protože to byl bordelář, měl na stole v Petriho misce plíseň, v níž pak objevil jeden z nejdůležitějších léků
Tak nějak se všeobecně mluví o historickém nálezu penicilinu, který se podařil vědci Alexandru Flemingovi
Jenže skutečnost je trochu jiná a cesta od plísně k záchraně milionů životů byla hodně trnitá
Historie asi nejznámějšího léku se začala psát v září 1928, když se Fleming vrátil po dovolené do svojí laboratoře v londýnské Nemocnici svaté Marie
Na stole se mu válely vzorky stafylokokových a jiných mikrobiotických kultur, kterých se nerad zbavoval, dokud měl pocit, že by v nich mohl ještě něco objevit
V ten den za ním přišel kolega, dali se do řeči, když se podle životopisné knihy Život sira Alexandra Fleminga Fleming zarazil a řekl: „To je zvláštní
" V tu chvíli si totiž všiml podivné a neznámé plísně, která se ve vzorku množila a mikroby v jejím okolí působily, jako by se rozpouštěly
Fleming nečekal ani chvilku a začal jednat, vždyť právě látku, která by dokázala likvidovat bakterie, hledal už od první světové války, kdy ho na frontě ranilo, jak všude kolem umírali vojáci i na ta nejbanálnější zranění
Alexander Fleming v akci. Právě ve své laboratoři v londýnské Nemocnici svaté Marie objevil penicilin
Plíseň Fleming vyzkoušel i na jiných mikrobech a fungovala. Brzy zjistil, že jde o houbu Penicillium notatum, která se tvoří například na sýrech
Deset let ležel objev u ledu O pár měsíců později se rozhodl svým objevem plísně, která ničí mikroby a mohla by znamenat obří milník v historii zdravotnictví, pochlubit veřejnosti
A právě tady se dostáváme k dnešnímu devadesátiletému jubileu. Když ale Fleming 13
února 1929 vystoupil veřejně, nikomu jeho vědecký rozbor nic neříkal. Veřejnost by nepochybně oslovily spíše činy než rozjímání nad tím, že se možná brzy podaří vyvinout lék, který by mohl léčit záněty a infekce
Jenže Fleming narazil na problém. Dlouho se mu totiž nedařilo z plísně oddělit onu účinnou látku, kterou mezitím pojmenoval penicilin
Extrakt, který z plísně odebíral, nebyl čistý a neměl žádné účinky: ani na laboratorních myších, ani na poranění kolegů
Zdá se to až k nevíře, ale Fleming tehdy svou snahu o extrakci penicilinu vzdal. Jak prozrazovali jeho kolegové, byl v té době nebývale zachmuřený
Flemingův přelomový objev dnes vnímáme jako úplně běžný lék. Dlouhých deset let ležel přelomový objev u ledu a britský vědec musel sledovat, jak lidé po světě umírají na nemoci, k jejichž vyléčení byl už tak blízko
Dvojice chemiků jako dar z nebes V souvislosti s penicilinem je téměř výhradně spojováno jméno Alexandra Fleminga, jenže velkou zásluhu mají na výrobě léku ještě další dva chemici z Austrálie, Ernst Chain a Howard Florey, kteří spolu s ním později dostali i Nobelovu cenu
Ti se dali dohromady během výzkumu v Londýně. Ernst Chain dostal společně s Alexandrem Flemingem a Howardem Floreym Nobelovu cenu za objevení penicilinu
Jejich cílem bylo stejně jako v případě Fleminga najít látku, která by likvidovala mikroby
Když projížděli všechny články, které byly o podobných výzkumech napsány, narazili právě na jméno Alexandra Fleminga a na jeho penicilin
Vědce proto vyhledali a zjistili, že se naděje na vývoj přelomového léku nikdy nevzdal a stále ve svojí laboratoři živí tu samou plíseň, jakou zcela náhodně před deseti lety objevil
Po nekonečném času mravenčí práce v laboratoři se jim podařilo to, co Fleming sám v minulosti nedokázal, z plísně extrahovali čistý penicilin
A zjistili, že je mimořádně efektivní. Když penicilin účinkoval při všech pokusech na myších, mohla jej trojice vědců vyzkoušet i na prvním člověku
Byl jím policista Albert Alexander. Alexander ve chvíli, kdy se Flemingova parta odhodlala jít s penicilinem do akce, umíral na infekci, kterou mu způsobilo bodnutí o trn růže
Ano, i taková zranění připravovala lidi ještě v roce 1941 o život, stejně jako angína, střevní chřipka, zápal plic či běžné záněty
Policistův stav byl označen za beznadějný, když mu ale začal být každé tři hodiny injekčně podáván penicilin, začal se razantně lepšit
Už tehdy bylo jasné, že Fleming, Chain a Florey vstoupí do dějin. Bohužel zázrak, o němž se pomalu začínalo po světě mluvit, nakonec policistovi život nezachránil
Vědci totiž ještě nedokázali penicilin vyrábět ve velkém, vycházeli jen z omezeného množství Flemingovy plísně, a tak se stalo, že lék došel, pacientův stav se znovu rapidně zhoršil a on nakonec zemřel
Howard Florey byl tím, kdo vyjednal financování vývoje penicilinu ve Spojených státech
A tak na vědce čekala další porce zdlouhavého výzkumu, museli na výrobu penicilinu najít recept
Jenže v Británii se na vývoj léku nenašly peníze, a tak se jeden z trojice, Howard Florey, rozhodl odcestovat do Spojených států a najít pomoc právě tam
To se povedlo, americká vláda výzkum zafinancovala a přelomový lék byl na světě
Alexander Fleming a místo činu. Ve svojí londýnské laboratoři objevil penicilin. Američané začali penicilin sériově vyrábět na podzim roku 1943, zprvu putoval na frontu a sloužil k záchraně vojáků, následně se rozšířil po celém světě
Je těžké spočítat, kolik od té doby zachránil životů, podle některých odhadů jde o více než 82 milionů
Alexander Fleming, Ernst Chain a Howard Florey dostali za objev penicilinu v roce 1945 Nobelovu cenu v oblasti fyziologie a medicíny
To je ale to nejmenší. Jejich práce nám dnes a denně zachraňuje životy.

Hundreds of refugees and asylum seekers in offshore facilities have already gotten recommendations from doctors to be transferred to Australia under new medivac legislation.
Up to 300 asylum seekers from Manus Island and Nauru have obtained the crucial paperwork and are awaiting transfer, reported.
The sudden inlfux comes after the medivac bill passed through the Senate on Wednesday by 36 votes to 34.
Under the bill, detainees on Nauru and Manus Island will be able to seek medical or psychiatric assessment or treatment in Australia.

According to the Department of Home Affairs, the governments medical contractor on Nauru International Health and Medical Services has experienced a surge of inquiries from Australian based doctors seeking medical records of the islands detainees.
In other cases, paperwork for asylum seekers and refugees had been prepared well ahead of yesterdays passage of the bill, so the documents could be ready for lodgement as soon as the changes become law.
While the medivac bill comes as a win for doctors, detainees and social advocacy groups it comes as a blow to Prime Minister Scott Morrison who staunchly opposed the bill over fears it would re energise people smuggling to the country.
In a direct response, Mr Morrison confirmed steps had already been taken to reopen the Christmas Island detention facility and that action had been taken to strengthen Operation Sovereign Borders.
Bill Shorten has done what he has done out of manifest weakness, an inability to stand up to the left wing of his own party, the Greens and others who have applied pressure, Mr Morrison said on Wednesday.
He has no strength on this issue and he cannot be trusted to follow through on any of the border protection measures that our government has put in place.
Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton picked up the thread and warned news of the legal changes had already reached people smugglers as parliamentary debates were closely followed overseas.
He said the Christmas Island facility was on hot contingency alert for any new arrivals.
He also suggested the facility could be used to treat sick refugees.

Opposition Leader Bill Shorten clapped back at the fear mongering claims.
He pointed out the medivac bill only applied to asylum seekers and refugees currently stranded on Manus Island and Nauru.
I just say to people trying to put out the welcome mat for people smugglers, the medivac legislation applies for people who are already there. It does not apply to anyone new, Mr Shorten said.
So if you think that by buying a ticket on an unsafe boat, paying a people smuggler, a criminal syndicate, youll get a better deal to come to Australia, youre wrong.
Labor frontbencher Brendan OConnor went one step further and accused Mr Morrison of actually talking down Australias border protection.
It is sending a message — he is advertising like the ad man he is — to people smugglers that business is open. And that is an outrageous act, Mr OConnor said.

The legal complaint in the case says Jones does not believe the shooting was a hoax, but nevertheless has repeatedly accused Sandy Hook families of faking their family members deaths. There are also six companies named in the suit, including various entities related to Jones InfoWars website.
CNN has reached out to Jones for a comment and has not heard back.
"The Jones defendants concoct elaborate and false paranoia tinged conspiracy theories because it moves product and they make money," the suit alleges. "Not because they truly believe what they are saying, but rather because it increases profits."
"Jones is the chief amplifier for a group that has worked in concert to create and propagate loathsome, false narratives about the Sandy Hook shooting and its victims, and promote their harassment and abuse," the lawsuit states.
Jones has denied the allegations. The other parties named in the suit did not previously respond to CNNs requests for comment.
Mark Barden, whose son, Daniel, was one of 20 first graders killed in the 2012 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School reacted to the ruling.
"For years, Alex Jones and his co conspirators have turned the unthinkable loss of our sweet little Daniel and of so many others into advertising dollars and fundraising appeals. It is far beyond time that he be held accountable for the pain his false narratives have caused so many and todays ruling brings us one step closer to doing that."
Attorney Josh Koskoff, who is one of the attorneys representing the families, released this statement.
"It is unsurprising that Alex Jones would do anything in his power to avoid testifying under oath and being forced to confront his outrageous conduct. From the beginning, we have said that Jones knowingly peddled false and malicious narratives in order to make money at the expense of the Sandy Hook families grief, safety and security.
